Rift & Co in Stoke-on-Trent

Meal for two here for the first time at the weekend, the food was amazing. We had double burgers and they were cooked to perfection, extremely fresh and tasty burgers. Our sides were fantastic too with chips and onion rings, both were very well cooked and tasted amazing. Also, I tried a milkshake which was fantastic too. I am so glad we tried this place as it was brilliant and we can't wait to be back already.

Visited a couple of weeks ago unfortunately standards seem to have dropped, service was poor with only one waitress on who had no urgency about her at all. When our orders were taken we discovered they were out of certain items to make some of the burgers and no "slaw" was available, when the food came it was ok but nothing more, the sides we ordered could have been warmer. We have visited several times and the food has always been excellent and the service better than this visit,

I called in with the wife a d daughter and was very hsppy with the food we all had burgers and would say its better than "gourmet burger" up the road and far better value for money!

We had halloumi and chicken for starters, the halloumi starter was quite a small portion, but nonetheless both were really tasty. The burgers were both really nice, and good value for the portion sizing. We would certainly visit again.

first time visit having read mixed reviews but always wanted to try this place,couldn't fault the place apart from it being abit nippy inside,we were greeted by a lovely and polite young man(didn't catch his name)who seated us and explained the menu to us,once ordered our food came within about 20 minutes pipping hot and fresh and was really nice,i took on the dirty monster burger as i like a burger challenge and duly polished it off,the waiter checked if our food was ok and said if we would like further drinks then to just give him a shout,he was a real credit to this place with excellent customer service,on the whole it was a pleasant experience and will definitely return just maybe when its abit warmer!!but would definitely recommend as the food is really good,even better that my partner received a free birthday drink and we also received a free meal because we pre booked and what i didnt know was that you get a free meal if a table is pre booked in January,happy days.

By day, good for lunch, nice food, standard varied menu, Lovely decor, warm atmosphere. By night great for friends to socialise, cocktails are nice averagely priced.

Gorgeous food and value for money. Staff are the best part of this restaurant, very polite, friendly and welcoming. They could not do enough for us. Will definitely come back

Great burgers..... visited with my partner and we both really enjoyed the food, the cocktails were good too...we were told there was an hour wait on food ( there was only about 6 other ppl in the place ) but it arrived a lot sooner

Visited tonight with my hubby sis n brother in law ...we entered the building and walked towards the bar and the smell of urine hit you straight away from where i dont know as the toilets were clean ???? I wanted to leave but ended up staying.my hubby had the dirty bird which was ok not great..my brother in law had the cow burger n me n my sis ordered the mac n cheese burgers which were not to standards we had expected ...the mac n cheese was freezing so we just scraped it off rather than complain as couldnt be bothered waiting about anymore than we already had.... personally we dont know what all the hype is about ,the burgers are nothing to shout about!!! Oh and people standing by the bar watching you eat because theyre waiting for your table as we overheard ...would we visit again ...probably not but only due to the smell

Went Thursday had the dirty pig burger it was sumat else, for a tenner one of the best burgers I've had. My daughter had a burger called the mini monster it's just a mini burger but she Loved it and the sweet potato fries.

Firstly the Good... We were seen very quickly when we entered, no wait for a table at the time and our order was taken quickly too. We both had the Dirty Bird Burger which was delicious, the chicken was juicy and tender, the chicken strips on the burger were clearly home made (in a good way) and the chicken wing with the burger was a nice little addition especially when you have the hot sauce with it. There was a variety of nice sauces on the table for you to choose from and the meal came with a good choice of sides. The downside was that the kitchen were very slow... there were only 5 or 6 tables in at the time and it took half an hour for our food to come (when there are only 5 burgers and a couple of hot dog options on the menu I don't know what takes them so long). Also the toilets clearly need a bit of attention, i appreciate that primarily this is a night club so they are always going to be difficult to maintain but there were a couple of occasions when the door was opened as people were going in and the smell of the urinals wafted out to the eating area... fortunately not whilst we were eating but that was just out of luck! Overall I'd say it's good for grabbing a bite to eat while you're out and about more so then going somewhere for a special occasion but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Visited on a Friday night after winning a competition. Delicious food and lovely staff. Even better that cocktails were 2 4 1!! Would definitely recommend!

Lovely bar & restaurant, we were given the choice of two tables when we arrived. Seated very promptly, took a while for waiter to come back and take our order but it was reasonably full in the restaurant. Food came after about 20/25minutes, we had ordered the trash can lid sharer and it did not disappoint. Although the only things that did was they had ran out of mayonnaise and when asking for ketchup then went to go get some for us and never came back. When ordering dessert it quickly came out about 10 minutes after ordering. All in all was 9 out of 10 in my eyes...just a shame about the condiments and was slightly nippy in there too...so maybe some more on the gas meter wouldn't hurt. I would definitely come back though, I've got my eye on the Dirty Bird burger.

El ambiente era precioso ya que era una ocasión especial. Una vez la comida era pedido llegó en un tiempo razonable, y puedo decir honestamente que era preciosa. Tuve la hamburguesa de pollo mientras mi novio tenía el "sucio" que es enorme vaca! Soy bastante quisquilloso con la comida, así que hace un par de peticiones cuando llegó a mi comida - que se hizo sin ninguna pregunta. A mi novio le encanta la comida y nos ha hecho visitar unas cuantas veces desde!

I visited the restaurant with my partner after hearing good reviews from a friend. Me and my partner are lovers of American food and wanted to give it a go. We were certainly not disappointed. The food was incredible, the portion sizes were great. The quality of the food was fabulous and the price was unbeatable. The staff member was very attentive and went the extra mile for us. The chocolate fudge cake is heavenly, it has a layer of white chocolate with in it and it was literally the best dessert I have ever had! We will certainly be back soon!!

My wife and I have been trying to get a table here for a while after hearing great reviews from various people! I have to say that I have never experienced such an anticlimax! The food was incredibly overpriced with poor portions and poor quality! The starter was shocking! Nachos with Chilli (£7.95) (Image attached) This equated to about 6 nachos totally drowned in sour cream and very little chilli! The second started, the chicken tenders, were tough, the salad was amusing (again on image attached)!The mains, my wife had a burger, and to be fair it was OK, not really anything to complain about! Decent flavour, well cooked meat!I had the chicken burger, this was a mistake! The chicken was of a real low quality, highly injected meat! I would expect (for such a price tag) to have a decent quality of meat rather than something that you would expect from an after hours kebab house!Cocktails @ 2 for 1 were the saving grace for BNB (which is where my value review gained a point!) along with the staff who were friendly.Basically, if you want a top notch burger meal I would look further afield!

Ate here twice now and the burgers are great.Not for the faint hearted the portions are huge!Great value for money and friendly staff. Would come back again also a good place for cocktails.

Nice food at a reasonable price, good atmosphere. Would recommend it to any one who fancies a burger!

Very Poor. I have been in a few times for drinks and always fancied trying the food here as it always looked so good. However I'm very sad to say that my expectations were not met. When we arrived we were told that there would be a 45 minute wait, which we were okay with as we were eager to try these burgers that looked so good. Drinks took over 10 minutes to get to the table and we had only ordered a coke and sparkling water. In the end the food took 1 hour and 15 minutes to come, we very nearly walked out. The burgers were average and my pig in blanket was raw in the middle. I honestly do not know why it took so long for the food to come because only 4 tables in that time were served their food. I could tell that were under staffed but it really wasn't that busy that meant the food would take that long.Over all very disappointed in the food and will not eat here again.

Had a very pleasant pre theatre drinks and food here. Probably should have skipped the substantial chicken strip and stuffed Jalapeño starters as I barely had room for the lovely home-made burger. Service was prompt and friendly and would have given 5 stars if some of the chicken strip starter hadn't been overcooked and chewy.

Went for a work outing. Excellent service along with beautiful food. The burger was a little pink for my liking as i like my food to be well done. This wasn't an issue for the staff when i highlighted this, the food was taken away & came back how i asked for it to be cooked. I think it would be better customer service for them to ask how you would like the burgers to be cooked as not everyone likes them pink! Cocktails were amazing also! We'll be back!

Wanted to try something new. A group of 6 of us had to wait an hour for food as the service was absolutely terrible! Slow and rude Food was lovely though, really enjoyed the loaded chips and the burgers were great.Would go again to see if service had got any better

We visited on Sunday and went with the roast , which was pork, beef brisket, honey glazed veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Every thing was cooked fantastically well. the kids meals were great value for money. We highly recommend this restaurant to any one..

I heard really good reviews about this resturant ,but when i went was a little disappointed with the food The staff were very friendly and helpful though and he atmosphere is nice :)

we enjoyed a recent return visit for a meal here at a weekend. it was just as good as our first visit- with great tasting burgers, and generous sized portions too.the staff greeted us and fully explained the menu options and choices of side orders available .there is a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks to choose from.this includes a cocktail menu too. tables were clean as were all of the surroundings and facilities. we received friendly efficient service,and did not have to wait long for our food to arrive.our plates arrived full, which we emptied- and thoroughly enjoyed! we shall be certain to return again in the future .

I came here on a Friday . We ordered from our seats ! Selected cocktails were 2-4-1 around £6.50 and they were very good cocktails too! The great thing is that ya can mix and match .where as a lot of places state you have to have two of the same !! The menu is of decent size . We opted for the burgers with choice of two sides and very nice they were too !! I had the maple burger and added cheese slice and a hash brown..my sides were coleslaw and fries. They were of good size and very filling and great price.Plenty of sauces to choose from on the table and the option of a bib (recommend lol) Iv been here twice now and will definitely be returning again ! Stay are very polite. They did forget to add our 25% discount at the end but it was soon rectified !! All round a great evening and can't wait go back !!

The bar side has lost it's soul and the staff no longer care, yet the food is still really nice. The staff also literally smell.

We were a table of 8 so had to pre-order. We were still waiting for an hour for our meal! Also had to wait a while for drinks.When the food came, some orders were wrong, some lukewarm. The restaurant also smelt of bo which put a couple of us off our dinner. Burgers taste ok but nothing to rave about. Bit disappointing.

Visited burgers n bibs when trying to decide what to have for lunch.. Atmosphere and decor are both really nice suitable for families and couples during the day.. I had the original burger, my parter had the dirty cow.. Service was good, we found the staff really helpful when trying to decide what to eat, they were just really friendly. Food was really really good! Surprisingly so, the quality of the burgers was so good! If you need a burger fix, get yourselves to this place! Definitely will return! The only comment my partner made was that he thought the side portions were a bit small, but I didn't, all in all, it's great!

I really wanted to like this place, lovely design and decor. BUT, NO gluten free. I asked if the fries were gluten free, the response, 'No they are not, we don't really cater to... to....' me 'Coeliacs'? 'Gluten free'. 'If you book ahead then maybe we can do something'. Not good enough, avoid, went across the road to the exchange, they had gluten free!!

Fantastic food, big portions, good flavours. Excellent service from cheery and friendly staff. We went during happy hour so a variety of cheap, refreshing cocktails were available. Good music playing throughout the evening. This was a Saturday it wasn't too quiet or loud, really enjoyed the atmosphere and will be returning in the near future.

We popped in here on a Sunday night for a bite to eat the chicken wings were amazing and very sizeable. I eat the dirty cow burger with fries and slaw it was really filling and I struggled to finish it. All in all the food is amazing unfortunately with it been a Saturday night , Hanley was a ghost town and we were the only people eating at one point. The cocktails are on offer for 2 4 1 , they are ok but not worth the full price as they could be made with better ingredients, hence why they are 2 4 1. Would I go back- answer is yes! Just to finally mention the waiters were excellent , very friendly and attentive.

We decided to give this place a go after seeing it on Facebook and lots of my friends going to eat there. The menu is mainly burgers and ribs which isn't a problem because its a burger place. The decor is funky but the food doesn't match with the image of the place. My burger was ok the sweet potato fries were the best my husband had the ribs and they were very fatty and dried up like they had been standing on the heat all day. We did tell the waiter about the poor quality of the food and we didn't really enjoy it and he did knock the price of the burger off the bill which was appreciated.

Went here after seeing all the lovely looking photos on facebook. On entering that waitress greeted us and was pleasent. The menu wasnt that extensive but ok. A large selection of burgers mainly with a few extra bits and bobs. The actual food was ok. Sadly nothing special. I had a steak sandwich. Average. Nothing more to add. Would i return? Probably not sadly, but not that bad.

visited recently early evening. all of the staff on our visit were really friendly,checking our meal was o.k with us and bringing our drinks quickly. great service! soft drinks as well as alcohol is served here.not cheap food ,but fairly priced. more mid range prices. excellent quality burgers and well worth the money. will satisfy most appetites.the portions are not tiny at all. the burgers are really tasty. there is a wide selection of burgers and other american style food .if you this if you like a diner type experience,this is great. tip -not really a family place to recommend as booze served .its mainly younger ages/mates and couples type place and can be quite noisy as you would expect really in town.cocktails we saw being made looked very appealing.summary well done all of the staff! keep up the good work!!!

We came for my friends 21st baring in mind I had never been before.We got 3 free bottles of champagne the birthday girl got to go behind the bar and make a cocktail - the cocktails are fantastic by the way & BOGOF which is always a bonus! Because we booked in advance desert was free. Food was delicious the sides are quite cheap but you get a lot for your money! Only thing I would say is the service was a little slow but we were having a great time so it didn't matter too muchJack was brilliant & made sure the evening was perfect wonderful service with a smile! Will go again no doubt about that! Also the birthday girl didn't have to pay for her main course just her drinks and starter which is a lovely suprise on a birthday as she wasn't aware of it until she went to pay!Thanks for a fantastic eveningKeep up the good work

Visited on a quiet Sunday lunch with our taste card and was initially going to leave when told a large chunk of the menu was not included. We figured it out though and had the ribs and a chicken burger. Each of these dishes came with two sides or you could pay an extra pound per slice to upgrade these sides. We thought the prices of the ribs and burger with the sides was reasonable, even without the taste card. The food that arrived was tasty though the beans were too vinegary. Our server was friendly too. Atmosphere aside, we enjoyed our visit.

So I went in, minding my own business... Just looking a for a cheap eat and a beer... Nothing fancy. Atmosphere seemed friendly. At first the staff seemed nice. Punters weren't too rowdy. And then it happened. THEY... TRIED... TO... MAKE... ME... WEAR... A... BIB... Now I'm not against bibs in society. Sure when you're just learning to chomp on solids and you've not got the capacity to keep food in your mouth.... Or at 4 in the morning when you're trying to scoff down a doner kebab as you drunkenly stumble home from a night out. But out on a quiet weekday evening as you try to sustain yourself through the rest of your mediocre week... IN DEFENSIBLE!! That said, burger was good. Even though I spilt it all down myself.

Went to this restaurant last night after a recommendation, so glad I did. Its mainly burgers, hot dogs, ribs etc, but they do do salads too. Well the burger was really quite something, I went for the beefburger with bacon, and a bacon jam, it was a really good burger. You get a choice of two sides, I went for the sweet potato fries and slaw, the slaw was the only dissappointent. All in all, excellent value for money at £9.95, and the drinks weren't expensive too. Would definitely go again.

Hard to imagine this as a place to eat since I used to party here back in the days of revolution! However we gave it a whirl and we weren't disappointed. It's no fancy sit down meal but if your after good American BBQ style grub it will hit the spot. A group of 7 and all meals were enjoyed, cocktails are a good standard too and happy hour until 10pm everyday is a bonus. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was good without being too busy.

We visited on a quiet Sunday evening in January after reading good reviews and seeing some enticing pictures. It was ok but we'd probably try other places first before we returned here.There's probably little the managers can do but the whole time we were there, we felt like we were in a nightclub without the music and people - there's still the smell of spilt beer, sticky floors and very dim lighting, which didnt work for us while we were eating.Our order was taken quickly and arrived quickly too. The burger was nice and the chips were good (but in a deceivingly sized pot as it was stuffed with a lot of paper at the bottom). It would have been nice to have some labels on the sauces so you know what they are. The 'grilled' cheese was a very small slice of cheese on toast - nothing like the American version of grilled cheese that was hinted at.The service got worse from there and after 15-20 mins of waiting for our plates to be cleared, we went up to the bar to ask for them to be taken away. There was just one person working on the bar/covering the restaurant who seemed to be enjoying the banter from a rather loud and attention-seeking women at the bar who was knocking back the cocktails (which was also taking up a lot of the waiter's time). It was understandable until we found out several of the people on another table were also staff who could have stepped in to help instead of watching the queue grow and diners get annoyed.We ordered pudding but shouldn't have bothered. The small cheesecake portion was running and falling apart on the outside but frosty in the middle - seems like it had just been microwaved from frozen.We didn't have enough time to wait for someone to bring the bill so queued up at the bar again.

Food was great, had half price offer on drinks and cocktails too which was fantastic only thing was the seating was a bit cramped people sitting behind seemed a bit miffed that they had to move their chairs to let us sit down, which is fair enough. With it been a cocktail bar, and on a Saturday night 7:30pm people starting to come in ready for a night out and it got a little noisy, and still has young families in that didn't appreciate some of the conversations going on with the party goers. In fairness tho not the restaurants fault, still enjoyed the food, will return!

My partner and I had visited Rift and Co a number of times so when we noticed it had become a pop-up Bibs and Burgers we decided to try the new menu. I was disappointed at the selection of chicken but my other half liked the burger variety. The food was good regardless of chickeny choice.The service was as good as always, can't be faulted.We've not been since our visit of Burgers and Bibs... Or is it Bibs and Burgers, but when it changes back to Rift and Co. we shall returneth!

I went for lunch one Thursday dinner time with three colleagues from work. We were the only people in the establishment yet service was slow, 10 minutes to get us three cokes and 30 minutes for food to be delivered, disappointing considering we had ordered small starter style bits to share. This didn't leave us much time to finish our good considering we were on our lunch break. The mac & cheese side was so small and really poor value for money. The rest of the food was good when it arrived, the chicken wings had a good taste and ample serving size. The waitress was polite but overall we found the food overpriced and we won't be returning.

So I have now been here twice and both times I have been satisfied. I would definitely choose it over the new Gourmet Burger Co which opened recently within walking distance (I also ate there so can compare). I find the food great and the value for money is spot on. One thing I would say is that I actually find the service better at lunch times which is strange as when I went on Lunch there were far fewer staff but the staff were a lot more engaging than in the evening where we basically had to ask for everything, the bill, the drinks, to be seated. For me when a customer enters you stop cleaning the coffee machine no one is using and come to show them the table they reserved. However the food was served in good time and excellent so I will be back and bringing more friends until that changes. Its a fairly new venue so I expect its maybe a training/experience issue with the young service staff at this stage sure it will get better.

Went here with a group of girls just for a night of just cocktails. Was pleasantly surprised when the bartender told us that the 50% off before 11pm was on all cocktails including the pitchers making them £8 each! Service was good and the drinks were all enjoyable too - most impressed with their drinks offer before 11pm

Me and boyfriend come here a lot, can never fault it. Did prefer the old menu but the food is still great! Service is always excellent, nice, friendly, chatty. Lovely atmosphere. Brilliant cocktails. One of my favourite places in Hanley for food and especially for drinks.

We'd been here for food before, but not since Burgers n Bibs had taken over the catering, and we were pleasantly surprised. There isn't a great deal of choice, but I'd always chose a small menu done well over an endless list of mediocre dishes. Both me and my partner had the Dirty Cow Burger: two beef patties, served on a brioche bun, with onion rings and a pickle. We both chose two sides (corn and fries, and sweet potato fries and a side salad). The portions were too big if anything! When all this came to around £10 each, I really can't understand why some previous reviewers have marked them down on value?The only draw back was the service. It took a while to sit us, a while to take our orders, a while to bring out our food. There was only two people behind bar but with it being the weekend after Xmas and with the city centre being full of shoppers, you'd think they'd have planned for more diners.

On walking in the place looks great and the staff are very friendly. The menu mainly offers burgers which is fine, that why we went, I wanted a great burger! However the choice isn't great. Me and my partner ordered the same thing (normally order different stuff, but wasn't enough choice) there was a slight delay on the food but didn't mind as the staff did inform us, was slightly shocked as there was only one other group of 3 waiting for food. The burgers came out and the ' pigs in blankets ' that come on top of your burgers were stone cold so not a great start. The burger itself was big and meaty but couldn't really taste the sauce or anything else. Overall we were slightly disappointed and didn't bother with desserts. The price is average apart from drinks being slightly on the expensive side. I wouldn't be bothered about returning for food.

Place quite nice, staff great... Unfortunately poor/lack of veggie options let it down. It's quite easy these days to knock up a halloumi burger rather than the 80's find us style offering.Rest of menu for meat eaters looked great and good value too.GBK is due to open in Hanley soon so next time I'll give that a try.

A late night, mid-week stop for drinks - it was the only place open and there were only about 4 other people in there but the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Cocktails were good. Looks like it could be fun when it's busy.

4 of us visited for an evening meal after winning a competition on Facebook. If you're looking to grab a bite to eat before venturing off to the theater or before a couple of drinks, then you need to go and get yourself a burger. They were delicious! And at a great price too. If you're looking for a romantic meal, then it's probably not the place for you as it's very student orientated and can get quite noisy. The list of cocktails is brilliant and all the staff were really friendly. I'll definitely be going back. Pigs in blankets speared on top of a brioche bun filled with maple syrup, beef, cheese and bacon..... It'd be rude not to!

Great food, fab service, low prices and 2-4-1 cocktails - what's not to like?!The menu is extensive with options available to allow you to customise your pizza, salads, burgers and sandwiches.We started with nachos to share, with chilli beef, which was nice and spicy. We both chose the salads and added our own choice of ingredients to the basic components.The furniture is a little eclectic, which helps to create a laid back atmosphere, as does the music.Two people, two courses plus drinks, and a tip, for less than £30. Excellent value.

We went to Rift & Co for a quick drink on a Sunday evening. It was very quiet - we were the only people in the bar. Happy hour is everyday from 5-10pm which is amazing! Meaning we got two delicious raspberry mojitos for only £6.50. Definitely worth it, great value for money. Wish we could have stayed longer to try out the extensive cocktail menu!

We had supper here- lovely waitress. Although there was a very long wait for food. We were amazed at how cheaply we ate and drank with cocktails on two for one. MyOnly gripes really were that there was not a more adventurous vegetarian choice and that there were no alcohol free beers ( c'mon guys this is not really the 1980 s! Support the alcohol free revolution !). By the end if the evening it had morphed into a club bar with disco balls and a DJ.

We visited at 6pm on a Thursday evening, meals and drinks were served to the table and all were presented very well. Pizza was lovely and fresh, burgers very tasty and nice additions of coleslaw and skinny fries. Beer was served cold and cocktails were on offer (buy one get one free). We had no complaints apart from it being very quiet so no atmosphere at the time we visited

I always love coming here for the cocktails and there's usually some good 2 for 1 offers on. Have eaten here a couple of times too and it's been quite varied. The last time I went in was with friends and it wasn't too busy (there's not many tables) and yet I got our table our menus after waiting for a little while, had to call someone over so we could order too. The food has been good usually but on this occasion the fries were burnt, didn't bring it up at the time as didn't want to be 'that' person. Every other time I've been the food and service has been good. Would always recommend going in for cocktails though.

Went here for a few cocktails with friends on a Friday night. The venue itself was quite quiet, however still had a good vibe with a DJ playing some good music. Good selection of cocktails. Was delighted to find out when placing our drinks order that we could get a second cocktail each for a pound. This made the cocktails really cheap. We tried the Refresher, which was exactly that and sweet. Lovely. Also was pleased that we were given a free shot to try also. The toilets were nice, which is usually not the case in bars like these with a pleasant surprise having moisturiser. I have only ever been normally in the day but was pleased that we chose to have drinks in there and made for a great start to the night.

Really annoyed and pretty disgusted by the staff at this place. Asked the barmaid if there were any drink offers on and she said no. Ordered 2 pints for £10.80(!) and as we walked away my friend noticed a flyer on the floor stating buy a round get the next for a pound. Went back to the barmaid and the rude barmaid said you had to quote it when ordering?! We said we'd just asked her if there had been any drink offers and she'd told us no and then she just shrugged. Asked to speak to manager and a young member of staff came out who was absolutely no help whatsoever and clearly not management!!! Said if we wanted to complain to write a letter!!!! Complete and total rip off.

£10.80 for two pints. Apparently it's buy a round get one for a pound! but the barmaid didn't tell us and said "you have to tell us, not my fault"!!!

Very modern and liveley atmosphere. Only had the Nachos but OMG they were great and the Solero Cocktails are to die for ! especially on the 2-4-1

Went with a friend as we visited Stoke for a night out. The bar is situated near the city centre of Hanley and is modern and open with plenty of available seating.We started with a couple of pints of lager, San Miguel to be exact, as they only have good, quality continental lagers on draft. Unfortunately with quality comes a steep price which was £4 a pint and I found that expensive for a bar outside of London!However once we were told by a customer that cocktails were half price we swiftly switched on to those. They had a good selection and the staff we also happy to cook up drinks we'd had before but weren't on the menu which was a nice touch.Now onto the food. I had the skinny grilled chicken breast with coleslaw and bacon. The chicken was overcooked and tasteless, the bacon was rubbery and cheap, but the coleslaw was sweet and tasty despite coming in a very small portion. I also purchased a side salad which came in a very small bowl and was poor value considering the price.My friend however had a very different experience. He ordered the ranch burger (cheeseburger with chipotle sauce and bacon). The meat was full of flavour and incredibly well cooked - it melted in your mouth! The skinny fries were sweet and filling as they supply you with plenty.He enjoyed his food, but I didn't enjoy mine. For £10 each it was good value, especially if you decide to have a burger!

Ate here yesterday after previously having a good experience. I had the katsu chicken. The chicken was good but the rice cold and stuck together. The sauce came out congealed in a jug and with no exaggeration there was a maximum of 2cm of sauce in the bottom of the jug.... So I asked for more. It was like a joke. Then the lettuce was brown, wilted, old and soggy. Complained to the waitress who stated that "it's supposed to be like that". Obviously we disagreed and we got a very lame "sorry then" and no offer of a discount or complimentary drink etc. These are 2 easily rectified issues but should never have made it to the plate. Without these issues and with a better response from the staff, this would have been graded "good". Unfortunately it falls below average due to the combination of the 3.

We visited here for the first time on Friday night and I didn't even know that revolution was no longer. I had a few drinks here and they were great try the Jammy Dodger cocktail, it was amazing.We didn't eat here as they had stopped serving but I had a look at the menu and will definitely be trying the food soon.I will be returning.

Starters, main course, sides, wine ....... All very good, staff very attentive, can't fault the place ..... I've even taking my team there next Wednesday and friends the weekend after - good job

Brilliant place. Superb cocktails and an absolutely lovely food menu. Something on there for everyone. Burgers are to die for and the sweet potato chips are spot on. Never had a bad meal here. I'd come here every week if I could. Thanks for the brilliant food and brilliant service!

My husband and I went on his hour lunch break. We were seated quickly and ordered our drinks straight away. These were served quickly. We ordered our main and were informed there was a 20 minute wait which we said was fine. A couple next to us ordered 5 mins after us and they were told the same. However there starter came after 15 minutes. After 20 minutes from our initial order the couple who ordered after us received their mains so they has a starter and a main and we'd yet to receive any food. 10 minutes later our good arrived. 40 min not 20 min. The waitress was apologetic and she was the only one serving. Obviously the place was short staffed. We had to eat our lunch quickly which ruined it for both of us as he only had an hour lunch. If we'd known it would take 40 minutes we would have gone elsewhere. The service is something to be desired and making sureFood is served in the order it is ordered.

I love it here day and night, its always a lovely welcoming place to go and get cocktails with friends, or even a coffee with parents. Food is lovely and really well priced.

Great place to start a Friday evening. A good selection of well presented food, and always relatively quiet earlier on. Much nicer since the refurb and during the happy hour wonderful 2 4 1 cocktails. I may shortly start to look like a porn star martini!

Myself and my mum recently visited revolution Hanley and I was really pleased to see the old menu back again. I really enjoyed the philly steak and cheese sandwich and was so pleased to see the choice of salads and platters back on the menu. Looking to visiting again to try some more food out, the flat breads sound very appealing. Also as always lovely service and atmosphere :)

My daughter and myself revisited to try the new menu that we loved before changing to American style food, which not everyone likes. We enjoyed the beef strips and cheese sandwich with fries, we will be visiting again to try more of food that's on the new menu

I have re-visited this bar to sample their latest menu - a change from my last visit.Previously, it was very American - i.e. burgers and hot dogs.This time there is much more choice. I actually struggled to choose something to eat as I wanted to try several items - which is a great situation to be in!The food is very good for a bar in a town - good quality and tasty. I sampled a club sandwich and it was quite different to others I have had before - so some originality.My friend had a burrito - again with a twist.My only gripe was that my food was let down by a limp side salad which was past it's best. However, I don't think that this warrants a drop in rating -it's just a bit off putting.Overall I was quite impressed - again!For a modern bar meal - Revolutions is one of the best on offer. There's now a better menu, good quality food overall and the service is always good. Oh and they still do some great beers and have the best cocktail choice!!

First time in a long time that I've into Revs. Changed quite a bit.Cute little jam jars and teapots for some of the cocktails-shame I don't really like any of these drinks to get a jam jar or teapot.We arived about midnight and stayed until about 1.30am, had quite a few drinks about our group- beer, vodka and cocktails.Just felt like the DJ played a really good dancy song, then would play 4 or 5 not so good songs.

I love Revolutions - the cocktail menu is one of the best I've seen and there is a good selection of beers.The ambience is a lovely rustic feel - quite distinct.Although, the food menu is good, it's only good if you are into American diner food. It would be good to see a more rounded menu and maybe with some healthy options.Overall, a very good experience with very good service - maybe great!

Had dined here at lunchtime in the past and had a good experience! So really disappointed with the new menu although liked the refurb! Was advised by the staff that they did plan on extending the menu in the future, which wasn't helpful today, so went to Portofinos just round the corner and had a fabulous two course meal for £10.95! Result!

Went for lunch with a girlfriend and we were both shocked at how bad and expensive the food was. Both had nachos with chilli and sauces but the chilli and cheese were non existent. Won't be going back to eat anytime soon.

I used to dine at revolution Hanley most Saturdays and I've been left disappointed recently,the menu has no substance anymore, the choice is pizza, burgers or fries, they no longer offer wraps or salads which is really disappointing. I however can not fault the service, always happy to help and lovely friendly service and I have only rated it down due to the lack of food choice! I have expressed my disappointment to the staff and the menu is now a smaller choice due to Hanley being a smaller bar, with a chance it could increase, hopefully it does!

In the past I've always recommend revolution Hanley for food,but sadly not any more. Not everybody wants a burger or hotdog which includes myself, my daughter and myself have made our disappointment about the food known to the lovely and brilliant staff. We have enjoyed many a few meals in the past, it's a shame as our custom will be going else where due to a lack of food choice

Got changed £11 per head for a buffet which was tiny for 15 people.We ate everything and they didn't give us any extra & most of us were still hungry. Worked out we paid on average £12.50 per dish of food on the buffet, which considering some dishes were cous cous salad & potatoes this was terrible value for money ! The food was tasty but a complete rip off.

Went with the family for a trial to see whether the food was any good. Had a pizza to share for the kids and two of the burgers off their burger menu. Menu is limited to burgers pizza and a few other things but the service, standards, cleanliness and atmosphere were second to non. Special thanks to the waiter chap who made us and the kids feel really welcome. Would definitely go again.
