Every year we go in for a drink and every year the staff are rude. Clearly rather stand chatting and are inconvenienced when someone wants to buy anything. Didn't appreciate having eyes rolled at me because the ignorant barman picked up the wrong drink. Shame as in the quarterdeck and reception the staff have always been very friendly. This section really lets the site down, won't go in again and will stick to where our custom is appreciated on the site

Service was miserable and abrupt. Prices are high including very high charges just for sauce and drinks charges extortionate. Fish was, hands down, the worst piece of fish I’ve ever eaten - mushy and dripping in dirty fryer oil. They’re clearly preying on the captive audience and capitalising by providing sun-standard food. Go back down to the seafront and get fish from theirs instead.

Went here for lunch whilst staying in the area. It was very quiet, and we opted for a table at the end of the restaurant. Although some of the reviews seem to mention poor service, we had excellent service from John, who brought us our food in two rather large boxes, which was a change from the usual plates! My wife ordered plaice and chips, whilst I had scampi and chips. Both were very nice, although the chips (of which there were many!) resembled more McDonalds style French fries than the usual chip shop style chips. Overall, two meals and two drinks came to £32, not the cheapest, but overall, not a bad place to have lunch in Hemsby.

Well, I wish we’d read the reviews before stopping to have coffee/tea and snacks here. The outdoor area is only accessible from inside and yet you are given paper cups. It’s not as if I could wander off with a china mug is it? I’m told the coffee wasn’t good at all, my tea wasn’t great either and as for the panini - well if it had seen a panini press it might have been eatable but it was only warmed - in a microwave I’m guessing. Guessing because I left the family to collect the order as I was already frustrated at listening to staff on their phones, making improper remarks to each other about this or that and generally showing no interest at all. The place looks as if it should offer a decent experience, we didn’t think it did so at all. Would have received as good if not better, from the usual roadside stalls. Give it a miss I say.

A nice seating area and pleasantly set-out. Sadly the food we had was mediocre at best. Sausage and bacon muffin was scarce of bacon, sausage and not too much muffin tbh and at £6.50 a bit steep.

With living 10 mins from Hemsby we visit often and have done over the years. Having never heard of or visited the Yacht Club we decided to give it a go (plus we saw that if we spend a certain amount in here you get free parking). On arrival walking through the main door it was empty and looked shut. We wandered around a little to see if there was any staff members to assist. The only 2 people in there was a man & woman in front of the TV. The lady got up and wandered to behind the bar but did not once ask if we needed assistance. We saw the menu for the fish & chips and decided to order. We got ourselves a table first and then headed to the bar. WELLLLLLLL......what a treat the lady is. She was unwelcoming, not engaging or friendly. Tried to chat and be smiley but nothing. She was very rude, which I did not expect from a Richardsons establishment. The food arrived really quickly, I even mentioned that it was quick when she brought the food over but nothing from her. The food was lovely and plenty there, although not the cheapest. I would say go in here for the food but don't expect anything from the staff. How the hell she works with people is beyond me. I think Richardsons needs to reconsider her as an employee as she brings the place down

First you, most of the tables had food and drinks left on them. And we’re very sticky. The staff acted like this was a chore when we asked if they could clean one for us. Food came quickly, but I guess this was because very few people where there. Now we know why. The food was the sort of stuff you get from a bad burger van after a night out. But with the price of a Resterant. Even had to pay for condiments! Avoid, not that good for families. Or anyone really

Eat there today 12/8/22 I don’t often write reviews but this was such poor quality and value, they really need to up their game, probably the worst burger I’ve ever had and then they charge 50p for a sachet of tomato sauce which you need to take the awful taste of the burger away!

We went to Hemsby for the afternoon and after pottering around for a while found the Yacht Club and decided to get lunch there. It is dog friendly so Archie got in without any bother and we sat in one of the Beach Hut Booths which was handy as it was a biggish table and we had done quite a bit of shopping. I ordered at the bar and the drinks were brought across within 5 minutes. Lynda ordered scampi, I ordered battered cod and we had a portion of cheesy chips between us and a caramel latte each. The food was with us within 10 minutes and there was plenty of it, delivered in smart disposable and I'm guessing recyclable cardboard containers. Everything was great the whole lot came to just over £20.00 and on top of that, if you park on their car parks which is a bit further down the main street and dine with them you don't have to pay the car park fee. Great value and service.

Do not bother to visit if you have allergies, we had the unfortunate experience of being dealt with by a particularly rude staff member -Shirley who told us ‘it was not her fault my daughters are gluten free’ and also made a snide comment when we left of ‘try somewhere else that does do gluten free’. We went in to the Yacht club for a drink and asked if there were any suitable gluten free snacks, there wasn’t so I simply asked if I could go to the Nisa & bring in a small snack for my young Coeliac daughters - I was told I was not allowed to (to be fair I shouldn’t have bothered asking) I said it seemed a bit unfair when there was absolutely nothing available that they could have, this is when I was told it was not her fault my daughters can’t have gluten those were the rules! Apparently this woman is a supervisor as she refused to get a manager when we requested. When we said we would take our business elsewhere this is when the snide comment was made. In this day and age you shouldn’t be discriminating against anyone it’s unacceptable!! Fine if they have their rules but they are discriminating and it’s the rudeness we were met with. My daughters have no choice but to follow a strict gluten free diet and for an older lady who should know better to upset two young girls is totally unacceptable. Richardsons & in particular Shirley made it clear anyone with allergies business was not welcome. Richardsons are not actually interested full stop they do not respond to emails or any of their trip advisor comments so they are clearly not bothered about negative feedback.

On our first night in Great Yarmouth we wondered into the "Marine" looking for some food. The Pub was quiet, and all the Staff were genuinely friendly. My Wife has Gallstones and is waiting an Operation so has to be so careful what she eats, the Staff were able to adapt a Prawn Salad for her, which we appreciated. I'm a huge Pie guy, and I chose the Homemade Steak and Ale Pie, which was a bit special, and I can't say I've eaten many, if any better. It's truly delicious. Thanks to everyone there for a lovely meal. Definitely drop in and try the Homemade Steak and Ale Pie.

Always love a Toby Carvery! It’s great value for money and a nice spot for a meal out with friends. We had Bruce as our waiter tonight and he was so friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!

It’s always wonderful to visit Fritton Lake, laid back luxury with such beautiful grounds, great food and lovely atmosphere. Every member of staff is so friendly and helpful, the Club House beautifully decorated. It’s a rare treat to find somewhere as lovely as this, and it’s dog friendly!
