Called in today for lunch with my husband and daughter in law Husband got steak sandwich £21 . Disappointed when steak came with a few chips and 3 onion rings. No garnish. I had pork dinner, OK, but very hard lumps of stuffing and could have been hotter. Staff where lovely I have to say. Definitely wouldn't be rushing back.

They can do no wrong here. Food is excellent, service is sincere and reflects the best of hospitality. Will return time and time again.

Lovely atmosphere, food looked amazing and there was good feedback from customers. We had a couple of drinks as we were checking out the area. Very impressed, All staff were very welcoming and they took interest in us and had a lovely chat.

I have been going to Rice's for years, it is the most consistently good restaurants around. Service is excellent and it has the best steak sandwich money can buy. Although it should come with mushrooms and or tomatoes. Deserts are delicious and kids meals. Starters have got expensive.

Great experience. Was a crowded night but they got me seated at the bar. Steak was very good, Guinness poured perfectly. Service was great even though the place was super busy and crowded.

Call at Rice's following a guide walk of the village by the historical society. The staff were very friendly. I had my grandson with me who cried when he spilt his juice, the barman came straight over cleaned up the spill and got him some more juice. I wasn't very hungry and wanted a lite bite, the staff were very accommodating and offered me a child portion.

Had lunch here. Great choice on the menu, the food was excellent and the service was top class. I would certainly recommend Rice's 👌

We shared a super tasty pizza (The grumpy goats), the pizza dough was roasted and served just at the best time. Additionally I had a fish n chips, I loved the way they chopped potatoes 🤩🤩🤩 it made the chips 10/10. And the most impressive one was my expresso martini, the bartender made it and dressed it to a high quality drink, almost like took it out for from a picture of a cocktail bible. And yeah, usually I had my camera hd the meal first, but all these were too good tonight, so that I forgot the camera aside 🙃. The best way for whoever read this is to walk in and order anyway.

Had a family lunch today Saturday, it was quiet today due to weather I guess but no complaints beside wee stove, nice and snug. Food and service great.

A fantastic place to eat and drink. A must stop if you are in the area . Can't wait to return.

Good food. Large portions, pleasant and friendly staff. Unfortunately very noisy when I was there and couldn't hear myself think. Poor acoustics.

Great service, very helpful and friendly. Food came quickly and was great taste and quality. Both kids finished everything, which is quite rare.

Disappointing, ordered the lasagne and it come with a hair, then got another and it was burnt and real hard round the sides, and it was much smaller. Another meal that we order was the main beef bruschetta, very poor serving for the money. Will not go back, pitty as we had heard all good things about this place

Had a meal here on Sunday with my siblings 11 of us, there was a very good selection on the menu of starters and main courses, wll presented, and couldn't fault the service, the restaurant is a little dated could do with a makeover, but other than that quite an enjoyable experience.

Good, simple food. Chicken curry was simple but very good. Veggie curry was peas, carrots, curry sauce and rice. Bit disappointed in one of the deserts. Apple crumble turned out to be a ramekin with warm sliced apples, crumble and apple sauce. I’d prefer the apples to be cooked. Good beer, helpful staff and friendly atmosphere.

This is a little late in coming but here is my story about Rice'w Hotel in Poinyzpass. I and my son John Quinn had been traveling in Ireland fo a few days. I wanted to show him the Ireland that I knew. We started of in Dublin and traveled East to points in Dingle, Killarney etc. I introduced him to Blarney Castle and the stone (wish I hadn't as he hasn't stopped talking since). We grabbed some Wexford Strawberries for our hostess in Scarva and headed out for the North. We never stopped along the way expecting to grab some dinner before we landed in Scarva. We stopped at Rice's for a good dinner before arriving at our destination, the kitchen had just closed, I explained that we had jst traveled straight through from Cork knowing that we would get a great dinner at Rice's. The barman said to us, just wait a minute and called the chef at home, he returned and cooked up one of the best dinners that we had on our trip. Thank you so much for the hospitality shown to 2 hungry Canadian travelers.

We enjoyed a very fine lunch. My steak sandwich, ordered medium rare was absolutely perfectly done and was as good a steak as I had in manys a day. I have no hesitation in recommending Rice's.

Food was excellent. It's a lovely country vibe and staff really friendly, however I was concerned regards Covid guidelines. No face covering or visors worn by staff which is the case in any other place I've ate in.

Always delicious food and great service. Great covid system going and just so chilled and relaxed. Always great to go back too knowing we will get yummy food and good experience. Mocktails/cocktails also on menu which are yum.

One of the best restaurants i ever visited. The place is located in a quiet little town and I found it delightful. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back.

Had a great family meal in Rices on the evening of 21st August. We were all very comfortable with the Covid regulations in place, tables well spaced out, hand cleanser available. Waitress was very helpful and pleasant. I had the Caesar salad for starters, huge potions, very good The fish n chips for mains were excellent. My husband had the chicken goujons and chicken curry. Fantastic garlic mayo with the goujons. The curry was particularly good. Great flavour. Would thoroughly recommend Rices for a meal

Went to Rice's in Poyntzpass Saturday night and it was absolutely amazing!!! They have all the Covid safety measures in place, and allowing people to still enjoy a meal in a safe and relaxed environment we will be back again soon thank you team Rice's for a great night out ! After months of lockdown, our first meal out we decided to go to Rices for lunch! We had been twice before and were very impressed. This visit was no different - the food was amazing. I had 2 starters, buffalo wings and chilli beef bruschetta - both dishes beautiful. My husband got the steak sandwich, which he loved. We love the welcoming feel and decor - but most importantly the staff. They are so nice and helpful. Special shout out to the young lady who served us (and on our previous visit). She has a natural charm and always helpful.I highly recommend this place to everyone.Thanks Rices - you did not disappoint!

After reading the reviews we thought we would be in for a treat..... but we were sadly disappointed ! I ordered stroganoff and it was so salty , after a few mouthfuls inedible. Out of five people the only meal that was enjoyed was the fillet steak!What a shame the restaurant was tastefully decorated and the waiting staff superb.Just very disappointed with the food on my birthday!!

Had ment to call on a number of occasions and finally got in today. Should have done it much earlier.A warm welcome, to a homely restaurant/ bar.We ate in the bar area as the restaurant is for bookings only.Lamb, with veg, roast and mash potatoes and the Salmon was our choice of main, with pate as a shared starter, and it did not disappoint. Will definitely return.

I often pop to Rice's as a local of "the Pass" and I've never been disappointed! I constantly introduce this restaurant to my friends from around the place and they just love it! It's genuinely just great, hearty food which is always excellently cooked! Additionally (if the food isn't enough!), the service we have all received has always been second to none. A truly fantastic asset to the Pass!!
