Nice to see a classic cafe tucked away in the heart of London, friendly owner, good breakfast which won’t win Michelin stars but is fairly priced compared with all the chain stores and freshly cooked to order.

I stumbled across this gem a while ago. A proper café serving proper honest food at really competitive prices. Come to Ricardos, be welcome, be warm, be dry, be fed. Why stand in the street, in all weathers, and pay 15-20% more for the priviledge? If you're concerned about your environmental impact it makes far more sense to dine in using proper plates and cutlery rather than disposable containers, although if you need a take-away service that's available at Ricardos too.

I have eaten from this café a couple of times now and I have caught the elderly gentlemen owner butter bread and lick his fingers (on various occasions), luckily it was not the food which I was being served! because of my previous bad experiences I often advise friends and colleagues not to attend, having said this today we was in a rush and needed food, we thought we would give the café the benefit of the doubt, and the same owner must have had the flu, today he appeared from nowhere, blew his snotty nose and then proceeded to dive his hands in to the bread and serve customers....DISGUSTING!! no awareness for hygiene.

Nice staff but the atmosphere and the state of the place is appalling, cups with a black ring of dirt around the bottom. However no atmosphere at all and the place was empty. This place also has cockroaches as my work colleague seen them on the floor crawling under the food counter.

The best breakfast in Shoreditch. I come here every time that I'm in London. It has never disappointed. Directly opposite Point A Shoreditch.

An egg, a sausage, two slices of ham, beans, toast and fries. No fuss, quick and only 8.4 with coffee. It’s fast and they take card. Coffee seems to be popular with all the high-vis vests stopping by.

One of the worst food I never had in my life we order chicken tikka sandwiches It was to salty and we informed the guy who ever served he told me the food was coming from out side we can’t do any thing be aware guys don’t waste your money

One of the few hole in the wall breakfast places remaining in Shoreditch. No complicated lattes, no bs, just good old English fry-ups. 7 pounds, all day Riccardo’s breakfast. Long live Riccardo’s!

Excellent fry-up, a great mug of tea - and the lasagne was top drawer when I paid a return visit. Friendly service. Recommended.

I was happy to pay £6 for a coffee and cheese roll but not when it’s served by a miserable middle aged waitress!!! She needs re-educating !

I just wanted a take out coffee. Being a simple southerner, London is a bit hectic for me, but this is a great, low key place. Nice filter coffee, great service, and a smile that has lit up my day- incredibly friendly. Thanks!

Uriges Lokal, welches durch ein sehr gutes englisches Frühstück überzeugt. Hier kann man noch zu einem sehr guten Preis frühstücken.

Ricardo’s is awesome. Great English breakfast for 7 pounds and the people who work there are fabulous. Only been in the area for a week but there’s nothing like the vibe at Ricardo’s in Shoreditch. Go here if you need a break from the bougieness of the area.

Tasted good at the time, but have had a really upset stomach since. The pre cooked sausages need warming through better is my guess.

We came here to have some food and drink because it was raining and I was too early for my appointment at the visa centre across the road. We both had poached eggs on toast which were delicious and we really enjoyed them. We have a couple of fantas and I had a lovely cup of tea. Riccardo's is a friendly place. I will be back next time I come to do my visa stuff.

Cracking little cafe for breakfast. We'll miss these places when they are gone. Had a mug of tea and a toastie - way better than any Pret or Costa joint.

Food wasn’t that great. I ordered their Ricardo breakfast and it was very very greasy, all I could taste was grease. There wasn’t much flavour in the food either. Staff were very nice though but the food was disappointing

Not appealing, food order was incorrect, not returning.

I just go today salmon and scrambled eggs and the man serving the salmon was not wearing gloves and he was shrinking the salmon with his hands. That is very bad. And afterwards he was wiping his apron. I complained about it and the waiters were indifferent. I am not going there again!

Good hot lunch choices everyday at a very reasonable price

Superb service from super staff. Never disappoints and always delivers. Fab coffee that comes in a china cup. Old school cafe reigns over modern day banal and processed counterparts.

I first ate here in 1978, the food has always been excellent, the staff are really friendly, the floor tilts slightly towards the outside wall which alarmed me on my first visit but the slope hasn't got any worse over the years so I reckon you'll be ok. For a good feed without any fancy stuff at a good price, I still go there if I'm over in Shoreditch.

I had perfect breakfast here. The food was great, and the staff was nice. Cozy and warm place!

Stopped for an early lunch. Lots of food choices on menu, prepared on the counter and hot food choices. Very small place so no place to stand and look at the menu. Staff keep asking if you know what you want. Not really a veggie or vegan place. Sandwich was ok and reasonably priced.

Amazing quick breakfast, really convenient being accross the road from our hotel. Food was excellent, the Ricardo's breakfast was bang on.

The staff is really agressive / impolite. Ordered jacquet potato which was undercooked.

I have had the English breakfast and panini (3 or more Visits), cafe food decent. I got what I wanted filled a gap. Fast service well run.. Cards accepted

Went here recently and requested a veggie ciabatta from the menu, only to be told that they only had what was prepared in the counter. When I took a moment to see what they had on display, the chap asked me if I wanted the veggie ciabatta and then prepared one...?! Please don't lie to your customers! If your aim is to sell what you have pre-prepared, then don't over prep! Pity the staff make you feel like an inconvenience, because their food is pretty good.

I was out on business this week, training local to Riccardo’s. I visited a total of 3 times. There’s a great selection of fillings for rolls, sandwiches and for jacket potatoes. Very affordable and the staff there are very generous with the amount of filling they use. The only negative is that one of the workers was very open about calling my friend and I “darling” and love” and made a joke about putting my PIN number into the card machine rather than my phone number. I doubt the intentions were to make us feel a bit uncomfortable but it wasn’t the greatest feeling.

Classic diner good sandwiches, hot food, and very good portions at reasonable prices. Great salmon cream cheese bagel for £3.50 breakfast offer. Quite busy for breakfast and lunch.

We visited this small snack/sandwich bar while waiting for an appointment and so had limited time. We chose the English breakfast and were amazed by the fast and excellent service. Food was very good and much cheaper than expected for even a small cafe cum snack bar. We will be back.

Great collection of food all at very affordable prices. First place I've ever eaten where they serve chips with a breakfast but each to their own I suppose.

Invited friends for lunch and can only highly recommend this restaurant!! Please plan some time as all food is cooked fresh, a lovely place to relax and enjoy thai food! Taste, quality but also aesthetic food design was just amazing. cheap and more than worth the money. Will definitely go again!

Warm welcome, great service and traditional cooked breakfasts just as you want them. Great coffee and excellent value. All cooked fresh to order and nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are generally and thankfully a little more mature but expert in their roles. I would've happily stayed all day - not great for my waistline but so satisfying for the taste buds. Big chunky chips, fried eggs, mushrooms to start the day. Healthier options available & a great sandwich bar too. Worth going out your way for if you fancy a bit of a fresh or fried treat. Missing it already. Green juices not quite the same.

Had my first bacon roll here 20 years ago! A great place to go and sit in for lunch, different specials every day. A real gem of a place that never disappoints.

Probably the best place for eath small snacks

Not on my patch, but I always stop here ahead of a meeting I attend every 6 months in nearby Worship Street. I would be delighted if that meeting was much more frequent, because the breakfast never fails to hit that spot of being exactly what you actually want....great tasting cooked breakfast options with no frills at a great price, always hot and with that key marker of a good breakfast : a quality, great tasting sausage (if the sausage is good, with taste and texture rather than mad of tasteless 'foam' then you know the cafe is not scrimping on quality. Will (always be back)

Good quality old fashioned cafe. Serves good food and you can eat in proper booths. Best value lunch around.

It's a good local cafe, great lasagne, but food hygiene rating of 1 means there are some issues. Maybe they don't believe in the system because it hasn't moved in months. Please work it out so I can go back in there.

When it comes to breakfast I do like to go old school and avoid bars and restaurants that try and serve a cook breakfast & will look to seek out a traditional cafe. This place is exactly that; serving sandwiches, hot drinks as well as sit down breakfasts & lunches. The cooked breakfasts are very good with everything cooked to order, black pudding and good sausages lift the quality to excellent. Great value too.

Looking at the reviews on here this place has been confused with another place in London which is a restaurant and in a totally different part of town. 9 Paul St is a very traditional London caff selling sandwiches and does a very good breakfast. There are proper benches and tables to sit at to really enjoy your food. I had a fried breakfast and I have to say it was very good. Really nice to have the choice of tinned or fresh tomatoes...........tinned all the way for me. I am a stickler for black pudding and I was very happy to see it on the menu and yes that also passed muster. All great value for money. I will definitely be coming back to have my next breakfast meeting with my pals off the train.

Very nice family-run restaurant. The owners are Italian but they live in London from many decades. The food is home made, very tasty and cheap. Ideal for a quick lunch break.

It was a local Italian spot for our friends in London right on Fulham Road. We had a reservation at 8 o'clock. We were warmly welcomed and brought immediately to our table. The wait staff was attentive as well as professional. The food did not disappoint. Riccardo's had a buzzy atmosphere from couples to post work week biz types. With so many mediocre chain Italian restaurants in London it was a pleasure to find something good and authentic.

These restaurant is a no bad restaurant, no bad food no bad service no bad prices, i will come again to see if is getting better!!!

Stepping in to Riccardo's is like going back in time....before we were over-run with soulless cloned food dispensing sheds (Eat, Pret etc) Sandwiches, daily specials, hot selection that changes daily, table sharing as it gets busy at lunchtime. Honest food, reasonable prices for the area and real people. A nice change.

Genuine Italian restaurant which was recommended by our hotel. The service was effortless and discreet, coupled with charming staff. The food was lovely, full of flavour and reasonable portions. Cold tomato soup was wonderful (it was a very warm evening). I was impressed with how busy their takeaway service was - always a good sign. Definitely one to try, we thoroughly recommend.

Great little find, a proper Italian old-style Cafe, excellent set breakfast for under a £5 including tea and toast. Lots of nice looking sandwiches and hot dinners. Not many of these left now

Right near my work. The food is great, tastes just like someone's homecooked everything. The staff are welcoming and friendly. No airs or frills.

Stumbled upon Riccardo's only yesterday as I thought there must be more places around campus London to get something to eat. So today I decided I would pop in and grab a sandwich. I was hungry and didn't want to mess about deciding, so went for my usual quick cafe sausage and bacon on brown bap. It's a very typical Italian run cafe serving the best English cafe dishes around. When you go in you wont see tables and seats full of builders, no, its very much a mix crowd that comes here. Today it wasn't busy inside but I did get the feeling it can get very busy come Friday lunch time. If you are around Campus London, then walk down just a few metres to this gem of a cafe.
