The Fox On The Green in Islington

We came here for a bottomless brunch, during a six nations match. The drinks range was HUGE, food was delicious and Kira who served us was amazing. We never waited for a drink, the cocktails were delicious and she really looked after us. Thank you Kira - it was you who made the experience.

We had an amazing time here on a random Monday••• but Charlotte -spelling apart- was such a sweetheart with us: friendly, sweet,,,and loved her outfit! GenZ version of Avril Lavigne -a compliment from a Millennial!

Worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. The lady with frizzy curly hair was extremely aggressive and had a horrendous attitude.

Ordered food 45 mins ago and looking at the tables around me I hope it doesn’t arrive. Just asked the staff how long it will be and was told to “ask the company”. Good to see proper service and home cooked food are a thing of the past. Country’s gone and so has the Fox on the Green

Have visited this pub under its different iterations over the years and did so again last night with some friends. The DJ is fantastic and evidently very passionate and the pub itself is looking brilliant. I will definitely make this a more regular haunt now and hopefully the DJ is a regular thing.

We went for their Christmas brunch and had a great time! Ellie and Chantel were lovely and made sure we always had drinks and anything else we needed. Would definitely recommend!

Some of the worst food I've ever had. A veggie burger with cold tomato sauce. I don't even know what to call the "tacos" that came. Everything, including the pizzas was just cooked from frozen. Honestly a disgrace to charge the money that they did for what we received

We went with my friends to get some fish and chips, we order, we pay, we wait an hour and the waitress arrives telling us that the fish and chips were finished. We decide to get a refund and change location. I don't recommend it to anyone!

Came for bottomless brunch, great food and great service!

DJ on a Saturday is way too loud. Couldn't hear anyone I was with. Couldn't hear the bar staff. Couldn't hear. Night ruiner, wouldn't come back. Also cut my hand on the stupid bathroom door lock and the staff would not get me first aid. Despite blood.

Used to come here for hot gin winter specials but now seems to just do £9 pints now 🫠 Pintflation is out of control Edit: cheers for the reply, the pint was good just a bit taken aback at the cost (similar draught pint is still at £7 in South last I checked)

Great location on Upper Street, in the heart of bustling south Islington/Angel. Not a great pub though. They have no Cask Ale They have no keg bitter They have no bottles of bitter If you don’t like identikit Eurolager or over hoppy “craft” beer, then it’s Guinness or a bottle of Newky Broon for you. I had a burger. Worst burger I have had since my mum gave me frozen findus burgers for my tea as a kid. I have had better from burger vans outside division three football clubs. Clearly people who like real English traditional beer and decent quality food are not this ghastly pub’s intended market. The staff serving were delightful and helpful. The food ordering app does not allow messages to the kitchen.

Great atmosphere, food was quickly prepared and service from chantelle was amazing! All in all a good 1st experience, will definitely be back again!

Myself and a friend went to have a Bottomless brunch experience on Saturday afternoon (09/11/2024) at Fox on the Green. We had a lovely time. The food was decent with a very minimal wait time. The drinks were great and flowing! Staff were very attentive and ensured we never had to wait around for a drink. The drinks menu is extensive and we enjoyed many Aperol Spritzes. A thank you to the lovely Kiera who looked after us during our stayed and ensured we had an amazingly attended to bottomless brunch!

Came here with a couple friends, had a great time and the vibe was amazing Filiz helped us with anything we needed service was 10/10

Went for Halloween as there have been fantastic decorations in the past. But sadly the pub has been bought by a chain, so no decorations, a DJ blaring the most random tunes from 8pm (don't go it you want to actually hear what your friends are saying), drinks were outrageously expensive (7.60 for a pint and 16.50 for cocktails!) and those horrible screens advertising all the events the pub had on. We stayed for one and swiftly moved on the Hope & Anchor, a much nicer spot. Sad to see this one is gone the uber commercial route.

As a tourist, getting a “pub” dinner was something in our list. Found this local place as having good combination in reviews and selection of food - and booked a table. When we arrived, there was no greeting and us having booked a table was dismissed - just sit anywhere. Sure. And then we used the app through a QR code to order food. The app was a struggle and the payment failed. So we asked for help and the order was manually made. The price between the app and the till was different resulting in a “sorry” for having to pay 2£ extra for the same order. The food was mediocre at best. Some wraps were filled, others were quite barren. The sharing plate was a mixed batch of good and bad food. Onion rings were soggy and soaked, chicken wings were only mildly warm and the “nachos” were converted into a mac and cheese thing. The garlic bread was just burnt. Some parts were good: the chicken filets were nice and the pizza was freshly made and excellent. For the price this meal was very mediocre and an experience I’d not recommend.

Could be a great pub but stupidly priced. £16.50 for an Aperol Spritz with no garnish in a pub. For reference it’s £15 for an aperol spritz in the Savoy.

I had a drink at the fox on the green on a Friday evening and I absolutely loved it. I've always wanted to come here, I've walked past this pub so many times. There are many pubs at Angel so why come here? The staff are really nice and friendly. Always open to talk and help you, and the music was amazing. I heard tunes I haven't heard in years, so it was quite a nostalgic experience. The DJ was having a blast and the crowd seemed to love the music as well. I feel like it's a place to start the evening and go somewhere else or a place you come back to late in the evening where it'll be more rowdy and hopefully more fun 😊

A pub in a trendy part of London. Not very busy in the early evening. Numerous screens showing the same sport offering....A missed opportunity!!! Very expensive drinks, even by London standards. Very loud hip hop style music clearly not aimed at the clientele present. We didn't feel inclined to stay

Don’t get the food. Bar team were lovely but when we ordered food it was sooo bad. Loaded fries came out with barely any fries, like one layer of chips, then when we tried them they were dry like crisps. Smallest portion I’ve seen. When we complained to the staff, they said it wasn’t their fault but was the companies as everything is portioned. If you own the company or the manager rethink your portions, they’re woeful. All we wanted was more chips and instead we got an angry chef telling us it’s not his fault that felt more like a fight. The problem could have not escalated by simply giving more fries. At the end of the day the company doesn’t care and probably won’t read this and it shows.

Jackson and Ellie behind the bar were very lovely and accommodating. Had a really nice time watching the football and overall the pub has a nice vibe. V good Mac and cheese, the wings are also nice!

Reasonably mediocre pub by central Angel standards. Usually lovely staff and a good option when other pubs around are busy. The food is nothing special, burgers are decent, but would suggest staying clear of the tacos.

Watched England pump Netherlands here whilst we were working down south in happy London

It seemed the only way to order food was to download a 30MB app via QR code! Since we wanted to split the bill, two of our group of four had to download it on data and submit our orders. Then of course our food (for the same table) came a few minutes apart. The veggie burger was OK but the salad was abysmal: tiny, soggy, and flavourless. Then the app had the gall to ask if we wanted to tip -- Who? Ourselves??? Also, we got ourselves a pitcher of water from the bar which leaked all over the table.

Overall, you would do well to check out some other restaurants in the neighbourhood, before going to Fox on the Green Islington. Food was generally mediocre, for the price. Details: "Self-service" (via app), food brought in a reasonably timely manner. Do not recommend the avocado and pesto salad (small portions, not particularly tasty). The Bollywood Burger (with vegan patty) was lacking all-around flavour, though chips were good.
