Really nice venue, great selection of food, beers and spirits. The venue upstairs is excellent, very intimate and the sound is always good! Highly recommended!

A great authentic place. Fabulous music is playing there. I was there for the Dark 80s party and had a really great evening. The employees are also friendly. The audience is mixed in terms of age. Easy to reach by public transport!

Great old venue, unusual layout. Good beer and whisky. Seen Brix Smith and Mozart Estate there both great. Saw Miki Berenyi Trio, excellent gig. Good selection of whiskey.

Great bar and the venue upstairs plays the best music. I also lost a bracelet here and got in touch with the team who managed to find it and return it to me. Top customer service and a special mention to Delia.

Very lively late night bar,visited on a Thursday evening was open till 3am which was a blessing as lots of others had closed by around midnight. Good range of beers, pleasant staff and good service

Decent pizza with a very well priced deal at £10 for a margarita and pint 4-7 Monday to Friday under the ‘Alessios pizza’ brand that takes home inside the Lexington. Upstairs is a lovely cosy gig area in which I enjoyed a great concert by edbl. Overall, great evening.

Went there yesterday there was glass all over the floor it was unsafe and I’m pretty sure the place was also over the capacity which could of caused serious harm I’m surprised no one got hurt not worth the visit

Don't step out for a vape, security will quite aggressively grab your drink and send you away! Never had an issue stepping out (or with security in general) in my life, but here seems to be the exception. Not a great place to go if anyone in your group smokes/vapes, although there were several people chancing it inside.

I have been coming here for years, definitely once month if not more. Never had an issue and loved the atmosphere, music, people. Very weirdly a bouncer, today, told me we are so drunk (just got to pints) and need to come back in an hour!!! Was not even close being a drunk, never had an issue here before and I am old enough to remember to not being a teenage drunk. So sad even for writing this.

Spent Saturday night in the Lexington, great music..terrible drinks may as well have been water and a mixer. Switched to bottles.

Friendly staff, good prices for the drinks. Great music, the pub also has live music upstairs. Lots of history if that interests you. Really good atmosphere. It's very convenient for kingscross Station.

Great music venue and meeting place

Small bar/music venue. I'd guess the capacity upstairs for the music would be around 120-ish. Bar downstairs was comfy & Happy Hour pricing on some drinks/food is very welcome in central London! Upstairs has a small bar, stage & standing area. I liked the fact that the bar & the area around it were higher than the main floor meaning that people at the back can see over the crowd.

Met up with some mates for a few beers. Seems to be a local pub rather than a tourist pub. Stayed for the pizzas which were nice & fresh.

Travelled across London for an 'indie night', but the DJ clearly didn't get the memo. He played a weird combo of unrecognisable dance music. We left after 2 hours hugely disappointed and felt conned

Great music venue & decor. Now with weekday pizza deal including a pint for £10, order before 7pm. The pizza ingredients are great, fresh tomatoes. It is a flat one, fair result with an electric oven

the manlet bouncer yelling at me to go in, then stopping me when he decided he needed to vent since he's a loser and that's all he has in life. put his hands in my pockets, then when I'm about to walk in after his clown act keeps yelling "ARE YOU OK? ARE YOU OK?" I had a table booked (with 3 girls), spent hundreds of pounds in that place. The clown did all of this at 7 pm with me, full daylight, while the bar was empty. 0 reason aside from his fragile ego, when I was nothing but respectful and paid his salary for the night trice over in that place. Never going to bring anybody in that dump ever again.

Solid boozer, especially good for bands

Great venue, excellent atmosphere, upstairs for the best live gigs on the circuit, downstairs for drinks on comfy seaters with friends. Near Angel tube. Just a great venue for a brilliant night out in London. Would highly recommend!

All you can get from a traditional pub (atmosphere & beer included) with an Italian twist thanks to the delicious Alessio's pizza. We tried different flavours and none disappointed us. Being Italian, I can definitely say that it is hard to find a good pizza like this even in Italy. Well done Alessio and the Lexington team!

I came here for a gig back in February and I had a absolutely shocking experience with the one of the bouncers. This big idiot, who obviously thrives off being aggresive and conflict, tried to drag me out by my clothes because I asked why my friend wasn't being allowed in and he took my questioning as arguing and obviously looking for any excuse to kick off he tried to eject me with no reasonable cause too. I felt assaulted and disgusted how someone could put their hands on a customer just over a discussion in this day and age. I would fully understand if I had been ejected for doing something wrong but he was so threatening and vile, what was a general discussion turned into a full blown situation. I luckily managed to grab hold of the hand rail behind the wall of the stairs leading up to the venue, he stopped pulling when my friend started recording the situation. so he didn't actually manage to remove me and I had a really good time unfortunately that night will always be scarred by that guy who should have his bouncers licence removed off him and by the looks of it im not the first person to have an issue with the bouncers here. Wonder if it's the same one

Got tickets for free entry before 11:45pm for an event last weekend and arrived at 11:30 (first time being here). The bouncers were rude and put their hands inside my pockets without my consent and dismissed me when I showed them my ticket. After 20 minutes inside, a friend told me we had to scan our tickets for the club upstairs (I didn't know there was a club or that we had to scan our tickets - it doesn't say this anywhere on the ticket or the event page). My friends scanned their tickets at 11:51 and at 11:52 I scanned mine and my girlfriends and she said it's too late and I have to pay £8 each. I told her that my friends literally got theirs scanned 1 minute before and she said "well I only just checked the time". I told her that I've never been to the place before and didn't know that there even was an upstairs let alone that we had to scan our ticket and she lied and said that it says it on the ticket (it doesn't). The manager then came over and was just as useless. I then had to pay £16 for the pleasure of entering the club... I would've been disappointed up there if I'd got in before, but paying for it felt like I'd been robbed. Horrible place, awful music and a really poor night. I since emailed the venue hoping that the treatment I received was just unlucky, but they ignored me which shows a lot... Never go there.

Went in for a drink and a concert. One glass of medium red wine £7, the concert was £11 with a few bands playing on the upstairs floor. The downstairs area has tables, couches, they have drinks and food including pizzas. Upstairs there a big room for concerts, a stage and another bar for drinks. It's a place for all ages

As a venue putting on so many shows and events regularly I find its shocking such a tremendous mistake could be made that in the end cost me a significant sum of money and a ruined night. I travelled about 3 hours to get to London to see some of my favourite artists at the Lexington but was turned away at the door for being 16 when the tickets and the website said 14+, I even reached out to triple check the age restrictions. The security were extremely rude and had no sympathy, ignoring us by being on their phones. I checked multiple times that my age wouldn’t be an issue and saw nothing saying that this was an 18+ show. This is a result of bad communication from the Lexington that’s unprofessional. Due to this error i ended up wasting a significant amount of my money getting to London and getting a hotel for a wasted night.

Terrible service, there are so many places to go to, pick literally anywhere else

Excellent selection of music and atmosphere. I went on a day with little attendance, so I was able to sit down and enjoy the place in peace. Totally recommended, one of the best pub I have visited

🚇 Angel 🍺 £6.20 Cruzcampo Victorian London Meets The Wild West. The Lexington is located on the border between Angel and Clerkenwell on busy Pentonville Road. The nearest Tube is Angel, it’s a five minute walk to get here. Originally this was The Belvedere Tavern which was built in 1780, the pub was rebuilt in 1876. This boozer went through a few name changes over the years, in 2008 The Lexington opened its doors. The main bar is located on the ground floor and has a wonderful high ceiling. The severy is at the opposite end to the entrance and spans the width of the bar. The decor here is amazing, it's a combination of Wild West Saloon meets Victorian Parlour meets 1930's Interwar Pub. The bar is split level, to the right is a raised area which has beautiful interwar panelled DJ booth with a cosy snug area behind. In the snug area you will find oxblood Chesterfields, a few cattle skulls and not forgetting a couple of musket guns with bayonets attached. By the entrance on the left are some fantastic original 1930's booths, at the end of the booths is an old Joanna with a few keys missing. To complete the look are rustic tables and chairs, flock wallpaper and an old-school Jukebox. Upstairs is a 200 capacity venue for hosting live music and events. The beer selection offers a selection of familiar favourites, three cask ales and interestingly a selection of imported American Craft beer. There are beers from Pabst and also San Diego Brewers @stonebrewing . Me being the least adventurous drinker in the world chose a Cruzcampo. My pint hit the spot, price was just above average. The Lexington also offers a vast array of Whiskies, so if you fancy a 15-year-old Pappy Van Winkle, your in luck. The food on offer is Pizza by @alessios.pizza, a margherita pizza costs a tenner. We arrived around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon in October. The pub was quiet as it is located in a low footfall area and is generally perceived as a destination pub for live music. Because it was quiet we got to have a good mooch around the pub and had a chat with the friendliest of bar staff who told us all about the American beers and Whiskies. The soundtrack was superb, there was a quality chill hop playlist playing in the background. The pub hosts a Pop Quiz every Monday, DJ’s spinning an eclectic mix of tunes from all genres and a happy hour 4-7pm Monday to Friday, pints cost £4!!!. Upstairs there are regular live music gigs, check @thelexingtonlondon for who's playing. We absolutely loved visiting this pub, especially the mix of old London Pub with Americana. Visiting during the day will be a vastly different experience than the evenings when this pub comes to life. But if I can offer a recommendation to visit a pub during the day, it would be this one so you can marvel at this unique and interesting London Boozer. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 14.10.23

Bouncers lacks of logic and basic reasoning, denied entry to plenty groups of people for no clear reason. Worst treat in the UK ever.

American style nice pub for chatting, listening to music, hanging out with friends, dancing, etc, Dj parties upstairs. 5 out of 5

Terrible bouncer… turned away my friend, who had a valid UN ID, and subsequently turned me away very rudely when I asked why she had been rejected. He then proceeded to yell at my friends and me (all of whom had valid IDs!) that we “weren’t welcome here.” Please read the reviews on this place before you head here—they’re all about unpleasant experiences with the bouncers who treat patrons (even ones waiting for a ride home apparently??) absolutely horribly. Save your time, money, and energy from whatever power trips these guys are on. The other bouncer even said to me “try a nicer club elsewhere!” and you know what, he was right.

The single most homophobic experience I have received from a bouncer in all my 10 years in London. It made me realise, programming a queer friendly event does not simply begin and end with the music and advertisement of the event but the inclusion and respect for queer people from all staff involved. A queer event fronted by hateful and abusive door staff is quite frankly baiting queer individuals into an uncomfortable and unnecessary confrontation with bouncers ready to intimidate and humiliate you on arrival.

A wonderful pub, superb interior architecture, friendly staff. Wonderful large Windows. Went to as gog, great gig, a big pity there is no draught beer upstairs. Opening hours were great, it is what London needs, alternative music with a late bar bliss.

Great atmosphere inside, especially when the upstairs area is open. Music is class. However, the secuirty are very indecisive & rude. You never know if you’ll get in, even if you’re stone cold sober. They tend to be rude upon entry, and when using the smoking area. If you so much as wait for a cab by the doors, you get shouted at, and entry is a whole new level of interrogation. Get these guys on airport secuirty, not a chill venue in like this in London.

What an incredible venue. Get there nice and early for some beers and pizza then head upstairs for an intimate and memorable gig. Venues don't get any better.

One of my favourite spots in London, perfect for dinner (with some of the best pizza around atm!), drinks with friends, a gig or a full blown night out! Great staff and reasonably priced drinks - it doesn't get any better than The Lexington.

We came from Rome for the "Heat Inc" concert which was fantastic. The place is beautiful and is a historic place, on the ground floor there is a pub and on the first floor there is a concert hall. The people were calm, many very young boys. The pizza with the Italian chef was very good. The atmosphere was very pleasant and comfortable 🤓

This review is for the performance space upstairs. I've been to concerts at Lexington and recommend the intimate yet functional space for garage bands and similar. The bar in the back kind of dominates the space, but that isn't a bad thing. No matter where you stand, you'll be close to the band and the bar ;-) Thumbs up for Lexington upstairs. Regarding food ... no idea. I've only had drinks here.

Good bar, but terrible bouncers. They will let you in or not just based off as they say “whether they are in a good mood or bad mood”. Rude and disrespectful on the door for no reason. Wouldn’t risk coming here just on the off chance the bouncers don’t like the look of you.

It's sad to see former great pubs gone to the dogs. The 'manager' has a power complex. Friend had reserved seats for a birthday but at 930pm we were told the table and seats would have to be taken away because "it gets busy". No prior notification that seats would only be for 2 hours then fend for yourself. Complete lack of people skills, as an ex Licencsee of an islington bar it's depressing to witness such an embarrassing attempt at management. Smashed a glass as well, ok that happens, but rather than finish serving the customer spent an enormous amount of time cleaning up. Do yourself a favour and find a proper pub nearby with proper staff. What a shame

Popped in for a pint on a week day, not many customers so I had a good chance to enjoy the decor. Cool old fashioned pub with good beer selection. I can imagine it is a great place to watch a gig

This pub hasn't changed in years. It looks rough and scruffy from the outside with security guards present at busy times. The selection of drinks is unusual with the bar staff being helpful. There is food available which is standard pub grub. The main attraction is a good program of music and reviews - at extra cost.

Great vibes. Lively downstairs and then onto the dancefloor upstairs (£8 on a Friday night). Really enjoyed it. There was a little end of night aggro but staff were able to de-escalate things pretty quickly.

Nice, staff & good music playing in bar. Toilets are awful. Atmosphere oscillates in the bar but they have good gigs on a lot and it's open late. Pints are expensive as to be expected for area.

Went to see the mighty Billy Childish for a matinee performance. Great old boozer with tasty pizza and an ethereal atmosphere. Good to see there are still some venues which are ambient and alluring as this fine establishment.

Nice little venue. Not been here before. Went with an old chum - let's call him Funcey, although his actual name is Joe - to see Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs. No, that's not me stuttering or accidentally leaving my finger on the 'paste' button having previously copied the word 'Pigs'. No - that's the band's actual name! They played their brand of stoner rock so well that at the end of the gig both Funcey's and my ears were bleeding! We both saw each other's bleeding ears at the same time and both said together, "You too!" Jinx!

Recommended whether for a quick pint or a night out. Great atmosphere, interesting decor and good prices too.

This used to be a great venue, a reliable stop both for late night and early evening. I just arrived an hour before closing and my friends and I were turned away for no reason, with an overly aggressive bouncer yelling in our face. We won't be returning and don't recommend.

Went to see Noah Yorke and traveled from Oxfordshire,very impressed with the venue and staff were all very pleasant. Had a pizza and I have to say the guy that served it was extremely pleasant and probably the best pizza I have had. Will definitely going again.

They found my wallet when by all rights it should have been lost. My wallet is not like others, it has the capacity to change people's lives. I have a free travel card from Network rail, giving me free unconditional travel across the UK. When I woke up after my night and found my wallet missing, I was sure it would be gone with my golden ticket with it. Yet it wasn't and I am all the better for it. Whatever else, this place saved my life by saving my wallet

Top headliner and good supports. Always a joy to see Jess Willamson live. The Lexington is a fine venue with great atmosphere and good quality sound.
