Me and my friends visited from Scotland, we entered the pub, were greeted by a lovely guy with brown hair, very enthusiastic, polite and kind. He had fantastic customer service and a great work ethic, seems like he genuinely enjoys the job and the people element. Hope this guys gets some well deserved recognition!

Lovely neighbourhood pub with lots of food and drinks options. We had the burger and Sunday roast, which was fab! Love the portions and the friendly service. I recommend the Sunday road mix for the meat lovers and the veggie option for the vegetable enthusiasts.

A very, very nice and cozy pub, with modern furnishings. Nevertheless, it has a pinch of classic pub charm and is a lovely place to sit and relax. The drink selection is great!

Typical British crowd, upper floor set up for eating, very noisy if there are matches. Friendly service although you have to order downstairs and pay on the spot. Great ale pie and quinoa burger

Ok pub, but ice cold temperatures inside

The place in itself isn't anything remarkable: it's your average neighbourhood pub. The location is just by Angel tube station and Chapel Market, so it's really central and easy to reach. The staff is remarkably pleasant and the food is great and better than you'd probably expect. The chips were fried to perfection (and I loved that they weren't chunky!), the Beef Burger was also very tasty, although perhaps a little on the smaller side. The chicken skewers were also delicious and the sauce that came with it was good. Prices are comparable to other London pubs. I visited this place on a Friday evening and it wasn't very crowded, although not dead. We didn't have to wait too long and left very satisfied. Will definitely come back.

This is a great pub! Foods good, vibes are nice and it’s in a lovely location for having a browse round the shops in Angel. Will definitely be back!

The whole atmosphere was very good I enjoyed myself.

Was accommodated even though as mix up in the booking, food was nice but could have been hotter, yes there was football on, was with my daughters and would have been better a bit more private table considering we was eating, but overall it was good value for money roast diner and drink 25£ each

Definitely a 10/10 experience! Every time I go to this place there is no disappointment - great staff , great food and drinks - lovely atmosphere and accessible toilets for prams - baby friendly pub ! Even in busy times staff are smiley, friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend it, one of the best in Angel!

Segunda visita a este gran pub. Todas las mesas / asientos estaban abajo, pero tuvimos la suerte de conseguir uno justo al lado de la puerta como alguien más se fue. Bebidas a un precio razonable para un pub de Londres y una encantadora mezcla de personas de todas las edades. Ambiente encantador con el zumbido de la conversación alrededor. Espero volver por comida la próxima vez.

This is a great pub . The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Back ground music is excellent a mix of 70s , 80s and 90s . Wide range of good food .

The most wonderful exceptional place. Mikkala looked after me with the best ever coffee first visit when I wasn't well and he was so kind helping me with bags and water. Then went back and met Chantel who is just mega. She cares so much for her customers and gives you royal treatment. She is platinum. She looks after you and gives you a perfect time. Better than Nessa. Better than Sussex. Both of which are fantastic but she is next level for fabulous hospitality. Great food, happy happy days. Please put Chardonnay on the wine list though! Xxx

Food was great. I was served by Chantel who I assumed was the manager based on her service and care for everyone and the business, I was completely impressed by her professionalism and customer service. Overall had a great night and will definitley be coming back!

This pub is amazing with great entertainment and amazing staff. Went here for a Sunday roast today and it was delicious could not reccomened this pub enough. Portion size is very good and price is very reasonable.

A lovely experience at the Islington town house. Chantelle invited me and my dog in and really looked after us! Phoenix got a bowl of dog food, water and a treat so she was very happy! And I had the best aperol spritz and an incredible steak and ale pie! The mash was also to die for! Thanks guys xx

First time here, the burger was amazing and the chips were perfect and the staff were out of this world. I will definitely come back here again. Service is to notch and with a smile. Always there to help.

Chantelle was a brilliant server

We are a family on vacation, and stumbled upon this place while out. The food is absolutely delicious and everything is priced extremely reasonably. The atmosphere and ambiance is beautiful, and the service was great. Chantelle assisted us and she was absolutely lovely- so thoughtful and attentive. I highly recommend this for travelers and locals alike!

Lugar encantador para relajarse y la gente mirando. Tuve el almuerzo de domingo de cordero más increíble que es el mejor que he tenido al comer fuera. ¡Y me encantan mis cenas de domingo! Había una abundancia de cordero delicioso cortado gruesamente y el plato estaba repleto de verduras y patatas y un pudín de Yorkshire. Cuando le pedí salsa extra de abeto me compraron un poco de inmediato. Mi amiga tomó una ensalada verde con haloumi que dijo de nuevo que era una porción muy generosa y deliciosa. Los cócteles y bebidas eran excelentes. El servicio fue excelente.

Service from bartender was excellent. Not only did she notice that my food was delayed without me even asking, but she then got it sorted with the kitchen and offered me a top-up as compensation. Whatever you're paying her, it's not enough because she's doing a stellar job (girl with glasses, lash extensions and red lipstick - didn't get her name, sorry).

Fabulous place,staff are great and the food is very tasty, with generous portions, especially the Sunday roast. It is also the type of place if your female and flying solo, you would be comfortable on your own.

Really nice place for a Sunday roast, plenty of options and veggie options too, didn’t like the salad (and maybe I’m not a true vegetarian than the meat stuff looked good) but really loved the Yorkshire puddings and the other veggie stuff and I was just happy to be their with friends and the atomsphere was great! It’s what you make it!

Spent my Saturday evening here. Was spectacular with such hard working bar staff, someone who really stood out to me was a lady named Chloe. She was extremely attentive to us and extremely pleasant. What a lovely addition to have to your team! The food was spectacular, I honestly can’t rate this pub enough. I will be back every weekend thanks to this great customer service which you tend to get anymore. Go the Islington Townhouse Pub!!!

The cleanest pub toilet I've ever been in and Melissa's customer service was exceptional. Perfect for a pint on the go!

Kitchen was closed on a Sunday afternoon even though it says on here that it's open until 9pm

Came here Sunday 21st July by chance from Essex as use to live in Islington many years ago it was lovely and the two girls working in the day were lovely would come back, lamb dinner was beautiful could not fault it Thank you ladies so much. Xx

Awful experience coming to watch the Euros. We had a reservation for table of 4 downstairs and when we arrived we were told a couple had just ordered food to our table. The staff said once they are done they will give us our seats (already frustrating) and then two more people joined their table and said it was for their booking. It turns out the staff gave our table to them since they were friends! Really upsetting as no staff member helped and the customers at that table were extremely rude. We managed to find some standing room but those customers kept pushing their chairs into our area. Overall just an unfortunate experience and wouldn’t come back here again - sad, because we had gone for a previous game and had a blast!

Very cute spot with plenty of seating. The fish and chips was delicious, and the service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere but £9 for a glass of wine! As for the food, £15 for an individual shop bought pie, a scoop of mash and a few vegetables. My guest didn’t fare any better with the smallest chicken burger and a tiny basket of chips. £13 .

I went up to the bar counter and asked to charge my phone so I could pay for a drink. The guy who worked at the bar tried to help me, at the same moment a guy with glasses came up to me - he didn’t introduce himself, he acted like the owner of the establishment, and he started pushing me and kicking me out of the bar. After a long days work I thought I’d give Islington town house a try. Watching a good football game, and enjoy a meal. The Islington Burger on the menu is absolutely delicious any time when there a game going on I’m going there. Melissa who I met is very nice great service all around.

Roast for 2. Large portion. Lamb was undercooked. Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere..

We moved to this bar because the previous one was awful. The vibe here was much better with a broader range of characters within. Colourful decor and an upstairs area. The layout of the tables makes it awkward for TV watchers as well found we were surrounded by football fans looking up above us for a bit, but aside from that it seems like a nice chilled place. Music was ok. Nowhere is reasonably priced in London anymore but it was cool for pre-gig drinks

Such a great Peruvian night the food was amazing and tasty. The chef was knowledgeable and informed us what we were eating The live band was great downstairs a great sing along and atmosphere.

Expensive as London is, but liked it and not as expensive as closer to the centre. Charming helpful landlord and DECENT house wine! Recommend!

These guys are an absolute dream, especially Melinda! I had an issue leaving my phone in a taxi, they were very helpful and caring, I had a wonderful chat while i waited, ate a great meal, enjoyed myself so much I came back the next day for lunch. Could not recommend more.

Wow what a gem of a place the food is absolutely spectacular portion sizes are amazing quality of food phenomenal and their chimmi churri sause is TO DIE FOR .. we came one night and spent the next 3 here. The atmosphere was immaculate they have very cool jazz vibes on a Sunday and the SundayRoasts !!! Top Notch! You will not find a nicer pub for food drinks and entertainment in all of London let alone Islington! Management and staff cant do enough for you - do NOT miss out and pop in you will not be disappointed 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

It was BAD! The food was disgusting and other random people were walking into our private reservation and started eating our food. The bar was supposed to be ours only but everyone just came walking in. The DJ cancelled on us and didn’t even turn up when we payed 250 pound for a private one and while everyone else got beautiful music we got the baddest music EVER! And we were told to get here for 5 pm to set up and we couldn’t get ready until 6;30 because people where still sitting in the seats we were meant to have it’s a disgrace, I will never come here again in my life, even if my life depended on it! There was only one toilet in this whole pub which was terrible! It ruined my aunties 50th birthday completely! Well done for ruining her night! Thanks a lot.

I wanted to write a review after the amazing service my friends and I received from Brendan on Saturday. We didn't have a booking and the pub was busy but he found a space for us in the Snug and offered us table service. He was so welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely afternoon. We ended up staying all day and all night as a result. Brendan is an absolute asset to you and I will be back and recommending this place to others

A lovely bar. Quirky and inviting. It was a Monday lunchtime, so not so busy - just what we needed. We could certainly see the potential for an evening there. Staff were welcoming, and they had a good selection of ales. We didn't eat, but we're pleased with the selection on offer.

My family and I came here for Christmas celebration. We had a beautiful 3 course meal, the food was delicious and perfectly presented. We absolutely loved the atmosphere this pub brings and how accommodating the staff were to every need. Plus to top it all of the pub is so creative with its cocktails inventing Christmas themed cocktails perfect for a festive celebration. The team even recognised we were there for a festive celebration and bought us some games we can play to extend the celebration. I cannot fault the team at The Islington Townhouse, they made our celebration, very special and one to remember 😁

The music is too bad to be playing this loudly. Plus the speakers can't handle the volume. Shame because the atmosphere would be nice otherwise

I’ve had an amazing couple of nights here with friends and most recently for a Christmas party. The atmosphere was so fun and the cocktails were spot on!

Enjoyed a wonderful set menu meal here for our work Christmas party. We were in a cosy private dining area which was perfect for us. Brendan looked after us so well all evening. The food was really tasty. Delicious Prosecco and overall really good value for money.

My dance group had our 5 year anniversary party here and the team were awesome, so welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The cocktails were excellent and the ambience is really friendly and warm. I’d fully recommend it!

Came here for my Sunday roast and was very disappointed by my experience. Food took half an hour to come. Other customers complained and only then did food orders come. When mine did, the food portion was so small it looked like a starter. No gravy was provided, we told the server and she had to give the bar staff instructions to serve us gravy confused like he was brand new. Save your time, go somewhere else.

All around a really great dining experience. One of the best roast I’ve had to date in London. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the environment was perfect for a catch up with friends and family.

Very appalling service. We were a group of 10 right in front of the bar on a quiet Saturday afternoon and the barman didn’t even offer us tap water. I had to ask after 20 mins. And no one was even at the bar keeping him busy. When I said the mulled wine wasn’t warm enough, instead of apologising and asking if I want to replace my order, he poured himself some mulled wine and said it is warm enough to him and kept arguing and contradicting. I said if you can’t to anything to improve it I’m fine just taking it. It took him 10 minutes later to finally realise and offered to add boiling water. It took us ages to order and the barman kept answering phone calls. Fries was abysmal and cold.

My niece and I stumbled on this pub by pure accident after the previous pub we' had reserved Sunday lunch let us down. What a warm welcome by the staff. Ordered the Sunday lunch shared meat platter. It was a great portion and delicious. We were even brought extra gravy! Staff came to our table to take drink orders too. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Fairly expensive drinks and food menu so didn't eat but enjoyed the vibes of the place, my partner got a double vodka lime soda and the limes could've been taken better care of, dry and flavourless fruit doesn't belong in a £12 drink, quite amusing though the actual layout of the building is almost like a maze but plenty of trip hazards so tread lightly 👍

Great atmosphere and hospitality

If I could leave zero stars, I would… worst pub I’ve ever been to. Booked for a group of 18 people, paid a deposit only to get there and they “didn’t have any alcohol left”!!!! Not sure how that’s possible for a pub, but the refused to refund the deposit regardless. We stayed for 20 mins then got the hell out of there. So bizzare, as they weren’t serving alcohol the pub was dead. Avoid at all costs!
