Just beautiful and romantic, couldn’t fault this restaurant, service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. The decor was original but with a modern twist. Would highly recommend this venue

Since being diagnosed with an intolerance to onions and garlic I have had very few dinners out that are of exceptional quality. Having a food intolerance is certainly not a life choice, but in some places it appears to be treated as a nuisance. And I can accept that it is. But some restaurants, and Rhosyn is one of them, do cope with it, as long as they have prior notice. Others don't bother. Rhosyn bothers. I let them know in advance my choices from their menu, and what I ate on both nights we were in the Penally Abbey Hotel, I ate exceptional quality food, exceptionally cooked, that was without onions and garlic and yet was of equal interest, quality and taste as the meals served to my husband, who is without dietary needs. My very favourite starter was the brown crab custard, served with a little toastie soldier topped with the most delicious mix of white crab, caviar and dill, stunning. My favourite main - rose veal (beautifully cooked) with IPA glazed hispi, a jreusalem artichoke bon bon, and a stunningly good marrow jus. But actually I loved everything I was served, as it was all such high quality, and the chef had made such an effort to include me despite my dietary difficulties. I thank him very much. This is, let me tell you, rare. A restaurant in Bath, with plenty of notice, on the day said I could only choose the fish, and I did, for I love fish, but there was no sauce and no vegetables. Their solution then? remove everything with onions or garlic, and give the woman what is left. it was so disappointing, so dull, and, for what I ate, therefore so overpriced. So you can see why experiences like that at Rhosyn are so wonderful. My thanks so much to a chef and team who are willing to go the extra mile, and include me in their wonderful food offer, it was a real treat for both of us.

Excellent meal - the food was super and arguably Michelin quality, great wine list and good service. Stand out dish was the crab custard starter!

This was our second visit to Rhosyn restaurant and both times we’ve been delighted with our experience. I am a vegetarian and the menu is very accommodating, in fact over half of the menu is vegetarian friendly ! When we rang up to book our table they’d made a note previously that one of the members of the party were vegetarian and I thought it was a nice touch that they’d kept this on their records for future reservations. The food in my opinion is unmatched in the area. Fantastic quality and a good variety of options. The service has been great on both occasions, super friendly staff who would go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your meal. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We stayed for a special birthday treat and I’ve given a review of the hotel separately (not so good) but thought it right to give praise where due. The restaurant decor is stunning and makes for a wonderfully warm and relaxed place to eat. Service was also excellent, attentive and friendly but not intrusive. We had 5 sharing platters, a bit like posh tapas, and every dish was very good with plenty of veggie options too. Good wine list and the whole meal was a reasonable price. Would definitely go again but a two and a half hour drive each way might be a bit much😀

Brilliantly cooked food, superb flavours, great choice of dishes, good service and beautiful atmosphere, highly recommended. Only suggestion would be it would have been nice on the last dish to have two pieces of cheese rather than try to share one small piece!

We had an amazing meal here on our recent trip to Tenby. The tasting menu was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful and the tables are well spread out to give a sense of privacy. After dinner, we enjoyed cocktails on the terrace as it was such a beautiful evening. Highly recommended for a special occasion. Tip: If you want the tasting menu you need to be seated before 19:30.

This is a lovely restaurant and perfect for a special occasion or date. The lamb practically melted in my mouth. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Pembrokeshire.

As only visiting the area, we were unsure where to choose for a special meal. We plumped for the restaurant at Penally Abbey. What a sound decision we made. Excellent service, fantastic food, well priced wine and a seaview to boot. Tasting menus are not for everyone but we appreciated the presentation, flavour and quality of every dish. A very special evening for all at the table. Just need to come back for an overnight stay at this little gem of hospitality.

The venue (beautiful), staff (kind & attentive) - supper was top notch dining,I just wish I could cook to this standard! My only reservation would be that the only option for supper was the tasting menu, which I believe is a new approach here...standards high, and although portions are on the small side, quality cannot be faulted.. This is not cheep, but food of this standard doesn't come cheep - although would have been good to have had a little more on our sharing plates. Overall a good experience.

In reading recent reviews, I am a bit surprised at the luke-warm assessments since my wife and I had three outstanding dinners at the Rhosyn Restaurant during our stay at the Abbey Hotel. The first night night, my wife and I had the Welsh Lamb cooked to perfection pink but juicy; the second night I had two appetisers: the pork belly and the salmon carpaccio while my wife had the sirloin steak, perfectly cooked-rare as she likes it and we shared her extras, and the third night she had the chicken breast and I had the sirloin, rare to medium rare as I like it. The service was impeccable- attentive but not over so, the atmosphere smart casual, and the food, as stated previously served to order. It is not inexpensive but you get what you pay for.

The whole hotel, restaurant and gardens looked brilliant - quite a first impression! We had a warm welcome and were served delicious food (beautiful sandwiches and scones & cakes to die for!) and lovely tea! The staff took real care of us, making us feel special without being fussy. Brilliant.

My main meal was excellent as was my pudding but my husband steak was over priced as only a few chips one tomato one mushroom and 2 onion rings for over £30 . We had to ask for bread even though every other guest was offered it. My husband pudding a creme caramel at £10 looked shop bought and had no extras.

Went there for supper as mentioned in Michelin guide. Whilst the food was nice consider it to be expensive for what it was. I realise that following Covid places under pressure but silly prices ... average desserts £9.95 each plus 12.5% service charge, £3.50 plus 12.5% service charge for Fever Tree tonic... come on.

Booked this as a Surprise for my Wife at end of long weekend in Pembrokeshire. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We had a good table and a view out to Caldy Island. We had a special request with regards a change to the menu which the staff were happy to accommodate us with. Only downside although a small one is that we had to park in the village.

Limited choice of starters, mains and desserts which is understandable given the size of hotel. However, the food is beautifully presented and tastes delicious. There is a good selection of wine by the glass. Very good table service. Staff are attentive.

Exquisite decor and ambiance. Scallops and Welsh rarebit to start followed by locally sourced duck done to pink perfection and a lovely herb crusted dauphinois. The deconstructed lemon tart was just a joy to the palate as was the creme caramel! Be back again as soon as able it’s such a treat!

Having stayed at Penally Abbey this week we sampled both the breakfast and evening menus. Of which both were fantastic. As a veggie I was happily surprised to have a separate full veggie menu. I will visit again.

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday here, with home-made cookies, a specially-made cake and champagne for eight of us. It was a great occasion, with very good service, and the Penally Abbey venue looks out over the largest of Tenby’s beaches. Memorable.

Absolutely disappointed with the service provided here in particular the person called ‘Mim’ made to feel unwelcome from the start and throughout. Afternoon tea booked where we had to request the tea no water provided despite requested also. No butter with scones. One persons food...

We escaped a downpour here, we weren't planning on lunch, but ordered a sausage sandwich to share and it was great. The place was packed and very busy, but we'll run. The buildings are interesting, a maze of properties joined together, with the brewery downstairs. There's also a shop and coffee shop part of Harbwr. There are many places to eat and drink in Tenby and this one should not be missed

Traditional, characterful pub owned and run by a decent man. Good local customers and selection of drinks. No food but if you want a welcome where you dont have to feel like a holidaymaker, this place is for you.
