Absolutely brilliant, no complaints at all will definitely go again. Service good,nice and clean .I had the rheidol breakfast again the wife had a bacon mushroom and cheese roll and chips excellent

I had one of the best toasties from here. Food was looking marvelous and accompanied with salads and chips. Apart from the food, front house staff were so friendly and kind. I will surely visit this cafe whenever I'll come to Aberystwyth.

We visited today as we were staying locally and I can honestly say it’s the worst meal I’ve eaten out in a long time . I ordered the Cheese Omelette Chips and Peas , after waiting for the meal to arrive I was presented with what looked at first glance an average offering but sadly it went very downhill from there . The chips were so overdone and tasted awful I think the fat or oil that they had been cooked in hadn’t been changed in a very long time . The Omelette for me was inedible as it was so salty and the peas were something that I hadn’t had in a long time ….. Processed ….. However I did enjoy my cup of Coffee . My husband had the breakfast but I will leave that for him to review . We certainly won’t be coming back to this establishment . The only other positive for me apart from my Coffee was the friendliness of the front of house staff .

Very tempting cakes here. I have bought a few celebration cakes and miniature lemon meringues and they are So Lush. They have a tempting arrangement and I find it hard to Divert My Eyes 😁

Old school cafe with lots of options, at really great prices! Amazing for hearty, good-sized breakfasts and the best fresh cream birthday cake for sure!

If you want a good, traditional breakfast at a low price, this is the place for you! The products used are excellent quality, the portions are huge and it is very, very cheap! Don't be fooled by the cost, the ingredients used are as local as possible and cooked in a traditional home cooking style. Sure, the look of the cafe is incredibly dated, but with good quality, well cooked and affordable food, does that matter? They also do homemade cakes to take away. The cafe really is a hidden gem!

Love this place, it's practically mythological! Lovely staff, family owned, as Aberystwyth as it can be. Between 8 to 80 years old - it's the only place in Aber to get a birthday cake. Coffee flavoured cream buns are beyond belief. Be careful...the cakes are delicious. Food is as per the menus and generous specials board, super hearty and warm.

Found it by accident, as it is off the beaten track. Not full of tourists. The food was lovely. If you go there in the afternoon have the scones, i would recommend them. I have now been there twice and every time the service was great. They are also open when the other places are closed i.e. they are open until 7.30 pm. The decor is not great but who cares if the food is great.

The fried breakfast turned up looked good but sadly sausages went in the bin cheaper than cheep. I would of been better eating the packet thay came in . The black pudding was undercooked. Why do cafes cut corners and use rubbish sausages. If thay changed them to a better sausage. It would of been a good breakfast

Home made food, excellent service. Informal, relaxing. Highly recommended for lunch. Ideal for big appetites :-)

We only found out about the cafe through friends who live in Aberystwyth. Everything is home made. The cakes are to die for, including the Rheidol cakes for special occasions. We had a cooked breakfast and it was huge! The prices are cheap but very good quality food. The staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit. A fantastic hidden gem in Aberystwyth.

This is a brilliant, family-run café with delicious home-made food, really reasonable prices and great portion sizes. They seem to do an incredible range of food... I can personally recommend the scones & tea, and the cheese omelette. Others in our party had equally delicious options - traditional breakfast, burger, milkshakes... and we couldn't leave without buying cakes and biscuits to take away with us. Lovely people too.

We were stopping in an airbnb and asked a local for a breakfast recommendation. He said if you want a good old fashioned welsh fry up for a great price this is the best. He was not wrong! Four of us had a fantastic breakfast, loads of choice. Very well cooked super friendly staff. Less that £20 for all 4 and we super stuffed and full all day. The layout is pretty poor and not the best but let the food and service do the talking.

This family run business has been established for over 30 years in the town. They do fantastic home cooked meals, top notch quality. The customer service is excellent.

Ive been here several times and will always be going back from good cooked dinners to filled rolls and you can order cakes made to order which are fantastic and good fair prices i cant recommend THE RHEIDOL enough

He ido a la panadería Rheidol muchas veces y han caído en un estado profundo de amor con este maravilloso lugar. Este no es el restaurante tendrá un rápido fling con cuando tienes el dinero en efectivo, o la cadena de rango medio que tome un conocido casual, este es el lugar de llevar sólo queridos amigos ya sabes que quiero compartirlo con la gente que te importa, la gente quiere tropiezan con nuevo cuando recoge un limón tarta de merengue en un día lluvioso. Vas como una peregrinación a alguna forma de evasión y que volvería a sentarse durante horas mientras el personal sonriente mantener permiten ordenar más té. La comida es deliciosa, el tipo de comida que se percibe como un confort en el hogar, incluso si su mam nunca hizo algo así. Es buena cocina inglesa con la calidad de alguien que claramente no sólo los ingredientes correctos, pero mucho cuidado. Además no tienes que preocuparte por el precio, por un fiver se puede alimentar a dos estudiantes de hambre como el tamaño de la porción no deja nada que desear. La mayoría de todo lo que tengo que recalcar el personal. El ambiente del lugar te hace sentir más solo como un viejo amigo que un cliente pero el personal sólo añadir a este. Más de una vez en una visita que el chef ha saludado personalmente por nosotros un poco de bromas y las camareras y los camareros son muy serviciales que incluso me tranquilizó cuando me echan a mi pedido por la cuarta vez. Así que ve en un mal día cuando necesites un buscarme, o un buen día para celebrar nada en particular. Sé que vemos allí mientras os encantará este café, si me muera quiero ir allí. . .

He venido e ido de Rheidol panadería/Restaurante durante mi capucha niño. La comida se sirve en buen tiempo. Había sin embargo una mejor selección de comida en el menú hace unos años - tal vez reconsiderar algunas de las opciones en el menú? El personal ha sido siempre educado y servicial aunque en el par de años recientes se han convertido en el personal un poco más amable y no tan snub. Mi cosa favorita he de Rheidol es su pastel casero. Compré una tarta muy grande para mi fiesta de compromiso en mayo y no me podía creer lo hermosa que se veía sin mencionar el gusto.

They serve good quality and cheap food. Fresh and tasty. The cakes are what I like the most. Would definitely recommend for a lunch or a coffee.

Entramos a encontrar una cafetería muy pequeña pero vacío, con un montón de desorden en las mesas, tales como placas, etc. que realmente extra no eran necesarios. La mayoría de las mesas todavía no había sido despejada, así que optamos por el más grande de mesa.

Have not visited for a very long time,however I have missed out because this little place really is really a gem.The menu is very good and reasonably priced,the food is generous in its portions,freshly cooked to order,the staff are delightfully friendly and the pastries are delicious.Follow the signboards and enjoy!

Me salté el desayuno en mi hotel para probar este pequeño lugar, como yo pased en festivo. No hay muchos asientos, pero la acogida es cálida, las porciones muy generosas y los precios excelente relación calidad-precio.

Mi sobrina y yo cogimos nuestras bicicletas al pueblo un día, en el momento en que llegamos nos quedamos un poco de frío. Todo lo que queríamos era una cafetería cálida y acogedora que servía comida, chocolate caliente y buena. Y eso es exactamente lo que conseguimos.

Cada vez que visita Aberystwyth siempre esperamos abundantes comidas (almuerzo o temprano en la noche) en la casa de Rheidol y a tomar algunas de las deliciosas tartas recién preparado en su panadería. Hay un extenso menú con especialidades diferentes cada día.

Once again a First time visit but was not disappointed . I had walked past the previous day and made a mental note as it It looked inviting. so popped in for Lunch the following Day. Pleased that I did .Very Comfortable ,Very Good service and very Good Lunch

In Aberystwyth visiting friends and called in for a coffee, all very good. Then we decided to call back late afternoon for a meal. Unfortunately, they had run out of my first choice but my choice of Fish, Chips and Peas could not have been better. Home-made chips (just like my mum made!) freshly battered cod and a pot of tea that never seemed to end- great! The cakes on display looked super but no room for one. From the number of people that called in to collect celebration cakes, they must be of a good standard.I know where I will be going on my next visit.The serving staff were very polite but perhaps could be a little more attentive to the needs of their guests.Well done everyone!

This little place serves excellent food,reasonable prices very friendly staff and good service. Good selection of food ,dessertsand delicious pastries to eat in or take out.

Visiting Aber for the day and on driving round one way system saw 2 blackboards at the end of the street. Parked on main road outside 2 nice looking cafes but walked back to find Rheidol. So glad we did. It was a cold windy day in February , it was lovely and warm inside and the welcome was even warmer , asked for tea while we looked at menu , a pot with three teabags and pot of hot water, waitress told us to ask for more water if we needed. It was about 2pm and decided to go for 2 all day breakfasts , they were delicious, very generous ,piping hot , we had fried bread but no sign of greasy plates. Saw a couple of people having meat and veg lunch and it looked great. Also saw a customer collect a lovely looking birthday cake. It's also a bakery and I was disappointed not to have any space left to try one!!! Can't wait to go back, definitely bring some cakes home next time.

Just had The Full Works and it was cooked to perfection. Friendly service and very good value for money and quality.

Now the restaurant itself is quite easy to miss if you are not familiar with the road layout in Aberystwyth. However, once inside clearly on display is a counter of fresh cream cakes and sponges. Once seated we were served promptly and politely. The food was cooked fresh as it was ordered. My father had a breakfast and I, myself had fish and vegetables. In all honesty my father commented that the way the food had been cooked and presented were exceptional and he had never tasted food of that type so good. The plaice was beautiful extremely well cooked with just the correct amount of batter, which in my opinion is actually quite hard to find these days with rushed services that we are sadly accustomed to. We also had some of the chefs home made desserts which were lovely too. We brought extra to take back with us. The restaurant also made cakes to order which is an added bonus, and a quick service with a 2 day processing timeSuperb.

I was visiting Wales to find some of my family history and stopped into this restaurant. Since I am part Welsh I love my meat and potatoes. I had the best dinner of my whole trip at Rheidol's. I had roast pork,lots of potatoes and 3 vegetables.I had tomatoe soup to start with homemade bread. Then took many of the pastries for later.My favorite pastry was the tiny eclair and the coffee bun.I don't remember the price but it was very reasonable ! I used to work in a little place like this and they are always the best restaurants. Highly recommend eating there. Service was excellent and some local regulars were very friendly especially the 95 year old WWll vet.

I stumbled on this little restaurant/bakery while visiting Aberystwyth and I am beyond glad! The all-day breakfast is great food at a great price and so are the pastries! The coffee buns were my instant favourite and I walked away with tons of pastries that were amazing! It has a lovely warm, homey atmosphere and the waiter was friendly and accommodating. I will return to the Rheidol every time I visit Aberystwyth and send all my friends that way too.

Service: jumped on as soon as we entered and asked for a few mins to look at the menu, then were left for 15 and ignored. The wrong canned drink arrived and tea already with milk in when we'd asked for it black. Frowned at and told 'obviously the salt was poured from the top of the pepper grinder- the top was solid plastic and didn't hold any salt. Menu: psychedelic print and very hard to decipher. I think they offered a lot of choices but there were so many coloured boxes it was hard to read. Prices: prices were ok, but honestly I'd go to Spoons before returning here.Food: small portions of everything on the breakfast and very cheap gritty sausages. No toast unless you ask and pay extra. Food was only luke warm. I suspect the mustard sachets on the table were well past their best as they were solid (but had no dates printed on them). Did ask for mustard and was frowned at again and told they were on the table- I knew that, but the offering on the table was unusable!Cleanliness: POOR. Knife was filthy and unusable and the place generally dusty and unkempt.Overall: I won't be back or recommending the place, slow service, mediocre food, less than pleasant environment.
