Birthday meal with friends. Lovely setting. On being seated, we were immediately told about 3 dishes that weren’t available on the menu. We ordered about 10 minutes later, to then be told that the mussels weren’t available either. The waitress looked bored and dis-interested throughout service. The waiter spent most of his evening sat at the bar chatting to the barman. My meal was delivered about 5 minutes after the other 6 meals, and I was told it took longer “because the chef was making it perfect for me” (really?!). We found it very hard to attract the staff’s attention for more wine/water. The redeeming feature was that the food was excellent: tasty and generous portions.

Have eaten here twice in a week - the service and food are exceptional. Have 2 gluten free friends with us and they said it was some of the best GF food they have ever had!

Just had a lovely Sunday Roast at Rising Sun, St Mawes. Due to the stormy weather this weekend, our travel plans changed and we arrived early (um, about 4 hours early!) and the staff were so accommodating. Although they were fully booked, they managed to find us a table, being totally flexible, and made us feel very much at home. Nothing was too much trouble and they truly looked after us. We would certainly recommend and look forward to visiting again. Thanks so much for your great service and delicious food x

Good location with a stunning view of Falmouth estuary from the conservatory. Service was hit and miss....slow service. Water was sent to another table. Had to be re requested. There was an air of arrogance from some of the servers... not usually seen in provincial restaurants in pubs. The food was good ... but not spell binding. A place, feeling very highly of itself, with an unusual arrogance displayed. Seen only in pretentious eateries in London, who are over arching in their designs. Which can overshadow the eating experience 🤔 sadly. I would recommend eating else where. There is either a long drive or a ferry crossing to St Maws via the mainland. Water taxi or ferry crossings from Falmouth This is a good place to sit outside with a drink 🍸 😋 and soak up the views. Also, a smoking section is outside, too. In summary £30 + a head for lunch is reasonable in a pub with good views this is the place for you.

Beautifully located with a view down the Percuil River & across the harbour. Can be busyh at lunchtime on a sunny day, and indeed it was. We booked a table online to be assured a place. Seated in the conservatory it was bright and warm. The menu is varied and as local as possible. Service is friendly and efficient. There are draught and pression beers/lagers and a good selection of wines. The experience was a good one.

Came here with the family in late June/Early July on a ferry day trip. All ordered a pint of Tribute and then sat outside overlooking the harbour. Many pints of Tribute later, thanks to the wonderful and unexpected lady outside providing table service, we left merry and surprisingly happy with having spent so little. Would definitely recommend and will be going back when down that way.

Had dinner at rising sun Sunday 19th May 2024 at 6.30pm .food very average bordering poor. The chicken Sunday roast looked like it had sat under the hot plate all afternoon . The goats cheese salad was just ok, had to contend with flys flying around our food & faces . Surely you can invest on a fly zapper . Not a pleasant experience all in all . Such a shame as location is beautifull.

We had a really lovely meal at The Rising Sun while our family were visiting. The staff were friendly, we had a great table in the conservatory, the drinks were nice, the food was good, especially the mussels and fish dishes. We thought the veg/vegan options could have been better. We would definitely come back. It was a highlight of their trip down here and a lovely day out on the boat trip from Falmouth.

Visited the Castle up the road so thought we would check the town out, came hear as the place was heaving very busy me made it just in time for lunch, service was great from the manager everyone else seemed stressed and busy, food was really nice and tasty only issue was my lamb shoulder was stone cold in the middle but husband really enjoyed his steak, took a while to get anyone to take our payment aswell maybe 20 minutes but apart from that it was fine I'd definitely go again!

Really fantastic stay for a 2 night break! Everything was perfect! Our room was luxurious and had a view over to the sea! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly and accommodating! We did a 2 for 1 night offer and also took advantage of the have 5 pints and get one free and 2glasses of wine and have the rest of the bottle! Would we do it again if we had to pay full price? We probably wouldn’t only as we couldn’t afford it! But good idea to have locals stay in the winter months and have full occupancy! We had a really lovely time in a beautiful place! Also, extremely dog friendly! Well done everyone!

An old pub full of trinkets and character from the local coast and history of St Agnes. We enjoyed their own ale and other local beers in their wonderful bar with large open beams and a working fireplace. We also ate dinner here and was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food was. Fresh, interesting, seasonal and full of flavour with decent portion size. The staff were friendly and attentive. Couldn't ask for much more!

Best Pasties in St Ives!!!! 🙌🙌🙌 The team serving us was very friendly and happy, which made us feel comfortable and at ease to ask questions, get advice and select the pastie best suited for our taste! The pastie is massive! The only meal you will need for the day!!! and this also makes the price point very very competitive against the other shops in St Ives! Go treat yourself, get a Pastie!

Lovely hotel, excellent for a weekend away. The rings are small but have everything you could need, and our sea view was gorgeous. Highly recommend the restaurant for breakfast and dinner! Generous portions, good selection, and everything we tried was delicious. Worth noting that it's up quite a steep hill and it's stairs up to the rooms, not a lift. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
