An old pub full of trinkets and character from the local coast and history of St Agnes. We enjoyed their own ale and other local beers in their wonderful bar with large open beams and a working fireplace. We also ate dinner here and was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food was. Fresh, interesting, seasonal and full of flavour with decent portion size. The staff were friendly and attentive. Couldn't ask for much more!

Would give the Driftwood Spars 6 stars if I could! The location is gorgeous, so close to the sea in a beautiful quiet cove near St Agnes. The staff are so lovely, friendly and accommodating, and the food and the beer are both excellent. Cannot recommend highly enough. A must stay!

Visited for Sunday lunch on 29/9 while staying in St Agnes. Firstly I should probably say that I can’t remember ever having Sunday lunch out with the better half , or in fact ever. I don’t mean that in a sad woe is me way , more my lack of authentic qualifications to review! Anyway we arrived and were warmly welcomed by the lady working behind the bar. We had booked which I wasn’t sure was necessary, until I saw every table had a little sticker on saying booked - glad we did. Ordered drinks and food at the bar. We both had the veggie nut roast option (there was also a veggie wellington option - butternut squash - not boot) So on one plate each of us had tasty nut roast (not dry) roast pots, roasted carrot, Yorkshire pud and gravy. There was another bowl to share of cauliflower cheese and another bowl with 4 different types of veg. At this point I’m starting to think maybe I’ve been missing out a bit on this whole Sunday lunch thing - it was delicious! Also I didn’t eat anything for another 24 hours….. there was also a guitarist/singer with a very nice mellow voice where we were sat. Bob the dog was there under the table (it’s very dog friendly) In the spirit of truthful reviews me being lacking in Sunday lunch expertise I sent a picture to a friend of ours who has Sunday lunch a lot and they texted back ‘Oh this is the top! It looks proper! That veg bowl! I always like getting green and red cabbage x’ We walked up to st Agnes beacon to burn some calories off afterwards

Stopped for lunch whilst doing the coastal path. Sat in the beer garden / crib shack across the road and had a few drinks and lunch. Food was genuinely fantastic and the mussels were some of the best I've had. Staff were really welcoming and knowledgeable and I would recommend this as a must stop if you're in the area.

We ate here August 24 , lovely food , chips were overcooked to the point of not being enjoyable , cooked too much , hollow inside too crispy an slightly burnt on the outside ,, may be to someone's liking but not ours , other than that , the fish was cooked perfectly and partners steak was lovely , gorgeous pub lovely old shipping inn , lovely pub staff too , would recommend. But please think about cooking your most served food choice slightly less overcooked :))

St Agnes pub. Great on a sunny afternoon, unfortunately didn't get to try the food because the card machine wasn't working. Really tasty ales made across the road at the brewery.

Advertised as very dog friendly! But wouldn’t even get a bowl of water for our dogs! Apparently owner doesn’t like water spilt on the carpet but is obviously happy to have kids chucking food and spilling drinks on it. Said she would put a bowl on the wood floor, but after nothing and a further reminder was told that there is a bowl on the pavement outside ( we were in the top floor). Just say you don’t like or accept dogs then we wouldn’t have to give you our money. By the way the nut roast was still fridge cold in the middle, so maybe add a minute in the microwave from the freezer. Told the waitress but still got a full bill. Sums it up

Beautiful Cornish pub with a large selection of beers brewed on site. Enjoyed a pint of the Irish Dry Stout on cask, which was rich and to style. Failed to finish a pint of the Ocean Pale Ale on keg, which was bland and watery. The food offering sounded enticing, if not at the top end price wise of what can be charged in the area. Unfortunately the standard of which was sub-par and the freshness questionable, at £14 for a starter and £24 for a main there was a lot left to be desired. So left the establishment hungry and disappointed after the meal. Definitely pop in for a good pint of cask in a traditional local pub, but avoid the chef’s attempt at modern-classical cooking.

Lovely setting. Decent pub with lots of Character and dog friendly. Unfortunately, The fish and chips were greasy and the ploughman's let it down. Don't like Olives all too much, and margarine for the bread a definite no go.......

Went for Sunday lunch. The menu, service, food, drinks all outstanding. This is one of the best pubs anywhere in Cornwall or UK. The food has always been good but I think it has gone up several notches in recent visits. It is particularly good for vegetarians with some innovative and interesting options. Absolutely Excellent 👌 😁

This pub has character and location aplenty, however; the beer prices are outrageous. We were here end of beginning of June. Service was inconsistent at best. Staff forgot to bring all of our drinks out and had to be asked twice. Soda was served from a jug that had been there all day. Soft drink prices were appalling.

Gorgeous place at the trevaunance cove. It's got everything! Lovely to sit and just have a drink and watch the world go by, or a fabulous lunch dinner as its great food! It's also a b&b but I didn't stay there next time I will definitely stay there as its literally a stones throw from the sea, lovely sea views and you can pick up the south west coastal path walk just from down the road at the cove. The only downside is the walk back up the hill to the centre of the village its a lovely walk if you take your time but a very steep one nonetheless. You could always call a local taxi if you don't drive and don't fancy walking. We walked and just took our time as the weather was gorgeous and we were well rested. They also have live music there too and all sorts of cool and interesting events. An absolute must see & do whilst in St.Agnes

Twice I was stood waiting at the bar whilst locals just arrived and were served immediately. Perhaps over the year they provide more trade but don't alienate visitors (albeit ones from Camborne). Keg ales were also served in lager glasses so were sparkling which is not normal.

I had an idea to walk from pub to pub in Cornwall for a wee adventure - in the winter. The weather can obviously be hit or miss, but I do like a good storm, and I have lots of cold, dark, wet experience, have the right gear, etc so figured I'd have a go. When I 'youtubed' "best pubs in Cornwall" - The Driftwood Spars came up. And for good reason! After three days of adventure in some pretty inclement weather, stepping into my room with it's fantastic stormy ocean views was just perfection. I started to wonder how I would leave. The bed was comfortable, with enough cushions and pillows to nestle down. Everything else was great too. I'd booked two nights and dinners in the 'top bar' (the loft in the old restaurant part, overlooking the rest of the restaurant). The food was great, breakfasts were whatever you wanted - all available. The staff were very accommodating too, working out my preferred beverage for my New Year's Eve toast. The location could not have been better. I certainly appreciated the proximity to the beach so I didn't have to walk far once I got there. Plus, the views. Loved every minute of my stay. Will definitely keep it on my 'places to go' list for future holidays.

Lovely hotel, excellent for a weekend away. The rings are small but have everything you could need, and our sea view was gorgeous. Highly recommend the restaurant for breakfast and dinner! Generous portions, good selection, and everything we tried was delicious. Worth noting that it's up quite a steep hill and it's stairs up to the rooms, not a lift. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Best Pasties in St Ives!!!! 🙌🙌🙌 The team serving us was very friendly and happy, which made us feel comfortable and at ease to ask questions, get advice and select the pastie best suited for our taste! The pastie is massive! The only meal you will need for the day!!! and this also makes the price point very very competitive against the other shops in St Ives! Go treat yourself, get a Pastie!
