This is a very popular little spot and the staff are great but the avo on toast is a real disappointment. The avocado is spread like butter. At £10.95 a portion you’d expect enough to be able to taste it

I come in 3 times a week and the service is always 10/10, especially belle with her dancing. So friendly and kind, nothing is ever too much trouble! Can't recommend enough!

Lovely morning so decided to eat outside. Having decided on a coffee and breakfast sandwich we were astounded at the size and quality of the food. l chose Bacon sausage and black pudding, husband chose bacon sausage and hash browns. When it arrived it was piping hot and there was two of everything. We ended up trading a slice of black pudding for a hash brown. The sausage was a cumberland style so very tasty as was everything else. We were served by Belle, Alex, and Emily and manning the kitchen was l believe Rich and Marinella. Will we go again?? Try stopping us. Excellent value for money

We have visited here often. Last visit food was not so good. Sausage tasted like it had been reheated, poached egg was like a bullet. Disappointing.

Previously gave this place 5 stars, however I was really mortified today when I went to collect 3 bacon an egg sandwiches and was charged THIRTY POUNDS! I think that's pretty outrageous and over priced. I checked the menu when I got back home and it did say breakfast sandwiches were £10 but to include 3 fillings. Would have been nice if the waitress had informed me of that when ordering or perhaps deduct from the price for having less / only 2 fillings.

Another lovely visit today. Noticed a signing logo on the back of a waitresses t-shirt and understand you’re supporting British Sign Language. Stopped for a Sunday brunch, lucky enough to be a sunny day, sat outside and had a fabulous brunch. Great menu with all the usual favourites and some Residence specials. We had the Residence Benedict which was delicious. And my husband said the Virgin Mary was excellent so need to go back now to try a Bloody Mary. All the servers are friendly and helpful especially Alex & Em.

Very glad I ordered the Eggs Royale: creamy runny eggs, nice smokey salmon, and flavorful hollandaise sauce on well-toasted bread! I recommend Residence Cookridge for a relaxing and delicious lunch, especially if you have the privilege to be served by Liz & Belle!

Came here after looking for a nearby place for breakfast. Everything we had was perfect, yes, slightly pricey for a full English but worth every penny. Would recommend to anyone with a hungry tum

We'd just been to Lawnswood and was looking for somewhere nearby to have breakfast. After a quick Google and a review scan, we decided on The Residence Cookridge. Did we make the right choice? Absolutely!!! Ok a bit on the pricey side for a full english BUT (and it's a big BUT). 100% worth every penny. Everything on our plates was cooked perfectly. Eggs (poached) beautiful golden runny yolk, Cumberland Sausage full of flavour, 2 hash browns crispy on outside yet soft and crumbly on the fork, the bacon was not at all salty, it was so lean you could cut it with your fork. I opted for black pudding wow so tasty. I would highly recommend The Residence Cookridge to anyone with a hungry tum. Thanks to the all the staff too.

Lovely, welcoming venue. The food and service are consistently good. The staff are warm and welcoming and feel you feel very comfortable. The food is delicious, on this occasion we had breakfast but have also visited for lunch previously. Definitely well worth a visit, highly recommended.

What a lovely experience! My mum came to visit me ant uni and we wanted to grab some brunch and found this place online. The food was superb, the service was 10/10 and we sat outside which was so lovely. A massive thank you to our waitress Eva!

We won a meal for two here on instagram, the food was absolutely amazing, service was great, huge portions. Such a treat thank you so much, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! The gyros and sharing platter was incredible

Customers who came in after me had their orders taken before me. I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was described as buttered ciabatta. It arrived without butter. It can’t have been fresh either because it was too tough and dry to eat. The slice of black pudding, the thinnest slice I’ve ever, ever seen, was completely overcooked and hard. So was the slice of cheese on top of it. The egg was fine. I shared a pot of tea with my friend and we were both charged for the pot. I wasn’t offered a receipt and when I asked for one was told it was too late, I ‘d have to wait for the manager to come and do it. This was my first visit. Totally unimpressed so also my last.

We usually go to the cafe in meanwood park, but have converted to residence. Great food and reasonably priced

We used to come to this place quite often but I think this was our last visit. £45 for 2 burgers and 4 drinks is just not what I expect from lunch time dining. Charging £15 for a burger is just not justifiable for this type of place. You aren't serving premium burgers, it's a pretty regular burger with basic fries without much offer in terms of dips. I could drive down to miller and carter and get a spectacular burger for £2 more. I used to order eggs royal at your place and now that has gone up to £12 with the portion size being pretty small and still leaving me hungry. You should really reconsider your pricing strategy, we aren't exactly poor but we no longer feel that your place is value for money and the last 3 times we have been your place wasn't exactly busy which I imagine probably has to do something with your prices vs value.

The service is exceptional and this was one of the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. Would 100% recommend for anyone visiting Leeds. The cafe is really nice & welcoming too.

We came in for lunch today and was served by Annabelle and Liz! Both were really hospitable and the food was great. Annabelle made the best coffee and we had a great time!

We went for some lunch for my grandpas birthday and the staff were absolutely brilliant, the food was gorgeous and all round atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. Our server was Eva she was really friendly and attentive, she deserves a bonus for being such a credit to the restaurant! We couldn’t be happier with the experience :)

Arrived without a booking and got lucky with a table... Accommodating for our young children and the food was delicious. Eva & Alex were brill. We love the coffee as well!! 😁

Really tasty breakfasts had by us. Ingredients very good quality! Coffees great. I’d possibly choose different toast if it’s possible on our definate return, but that’s possibly a preference for something softer. Lovely place, great atmosphere.

Loved the food and the ambiance, great service, can’t fault it. Me and the wife were very happy with our choices and the taste was amazing.

I came in with my sister who has walking difficulties, husband and myself. I am pregnant although you probably couldn’t tell because I was wearing baggy clothes, and I was trying to help my sister walk in. Eva was considerate at seating us and could see my sister was struggling and got us a table quicker than estimated. Thank you Eva, if you weren’t so nice I probably would have become quite upset as one of the customers trying to get past me and my sister was giving us evils (don’t think she realised we weren’t being rude, we just couldn’t move out of the way quick enough because of my sisters disability). Alex got us some water even though it was self serve. Food and drinks were lovely.

Delicious brunch! Great selection on the menu, with beautiful veggie options. My brunch was cooked perfectly, was very flavoursome. Our server Grace was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, provided a genuinely great service. Will definitely be back!

Really like it here, nice atmosphere, good service & good food. But why are dogs allowed? It’s only a small restaurant & to have to sit next to a big smelly dog with its nose up against our table, is not hygienic & not pleasant. I get it that people love their dogs but why can’t owners be aware that some people really don’t. And what on earth does the dog get out of the experience? Please can we go back to the days where dogs stay outside or stay at home when owners are eating out & then we can all enjoy our meal.

Residence 74 is always a pleasure to visit. It is my go to spot when treating myself and others to breakfast or brunch. Residence has become our local coffee stop most days. Me and my partner walk up on a lunch break and get lattes to go - they know us so well now we don't need to even order, they remember one is with cows milk and one with oat. We love it so much we are taking all our friends who also live in the area, popping in for brunch and dinner. The brunch is served till quite late in the day which is great for us and been pescetarians there is a great amount of choice. The poached eggs are always perfect. We can't wait till the sun comes out more and we can sit outside on the terrace and switch to iced lattes instead.

Lovely bijou bar/cafe with outside seating when not wet Good breakfast and lunch option and Bar. We went for brunch. Not overly expensive, we had lovely food and coffees/lemonade for less and £15 p.p. Welcoming and friendly staff, courteous and swift enough service. We're visiting Leeds and will come back again on future visits!

Great breakfast, great coffee and lovely staff

Not worth its money, we left with cut pallets! My partner and I attended at the weekend and ordered x2 Mochas, Mighty English and a x1 double Sausage and double bacon sandwich (altered Breakfast sandwich of 3 options with pointless salad instead of x2 sandwiches) which cost £34 all in. The place looked lovely and the service was good but both the bread of the sandwich and sour dough bread of the breakfast was dry and super crispy, and with every mouthful cut up the inside of our mouths. My partners mighty English was good apart from the bread. The bacon was also rather dry but edible in the sandwich. I got a double sandwich to fill me up for the price as I don’t like most breakfast item options but wish I hadn’t bothered, and left when I looked at the menu

Had the Residence Avo on toast. It was really nice actually the feta cheese and Med vegetables worked really well with the two poached eggs. Was nice.

Coffee was nice but I was very disappointed with the food. Ordered the large Merida plate of Gyros (chicken & pork). The chicken & pork was a selection of fatty, very thinly cut, small, fried to death pieces. I found it difficult to stomach 😨 The pitta breads that came with it also had a strange ‘fried’ taste to them. Overall, it didn’t taste fresh.

Great breakfast and lovely decor. Quite small inside. Service was good and they adapted the menu to suit our needs. Only downside was the price £56 for 2 adult and 2 kids breakfast with coffee and apple juice.

Really lovely little cafe, with gluten free options. My husband particularly enjoyed his full English and was pleased to see they had gluten free sausages on offer and we're happy to swap the black pudding for an extra hash brown. Definitely felt coeliac friendly. Only improvement that could have been made was that my hot chocolate was very much of a drinkable temperature, and was gone almost too quickly! I had one of the best sourdough sandwiches I've had in a while! Chicken and chorizo - really tasty. The chips were great too. The ladies serving were very friendly and happy to help. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Free parking outside. Heaters also on the decking outside which is an added touch!

I really can't recommend the Residence breakfast highly enough. Every element is always perfectly cooked, great quality ingrediants, and you get a really satisfyingly sized portion.

Incredible spot with something for everyone and amazing service! The food was great (best chicken burger my husband has ever had apparently) and the mocktails were delicious. Emily was so helpful and friendly. Definitely need to come in more often.

We really liked eating here. It was a Tuesday lunchtime, It was busy but we still managed to get a table without booking in advance. The decor and ambiance really give it a cool, youthful vibe. We ordered the Residence Avo on Toast and the Residence Cheese burger and both were great and are highly recommended. Would definitely go back for lunch or an evening meal. My teenage son would love it as well I think.

Absolutely fab cafe! We've been in for brunch and lunch before, both of which are delightful, and the staff are always so friendly and attentive :) I would highly recommend! I've also never had an issue with finding parking on the road!

Quick service and lovely staff. Coffee was brilliant, much better than you'd find in a Starbucks. Food was amazing also, really well done and presented. Aesthetically a lovely, cozy place that's so welcoming. Will be returning here more often!

Had a wonderful lunch with my son, the coffee and hot chocolate was to die for, and the food was exceptional. The friendly, happy staff made it a lovely place to come back to, easy parking outside.

English breakfast was great. The only suggestion is to use a better quality sausage. It was good but would have preferred better quality. Lovely atmosphere, great staff. Introducing Filter coffee would be good

Disappointed in our visit. Halloumi salad £10 with one tiny rectangle of halloumi. Asked for another slice and got two small slices, charged for £3 extra! Nice coffee and all else OK but definitely overpriced!
