Quality old pub with an excellent range of ales. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere.

As first time visitors we received a warm welcome and some good advice about the beers on offer. Although not a real ale buff I enjoyed the two different pints and would certainly return. On entry it becomes obvious that this is pretty much a unique experience!

Lovely old pub,the food looked nice although we didn't try it. A very wide choice of real ales. But it's a touch expensive.

It’s ages since we were in the Old Cock and it is still as good as ever. Furnished in the traditional style the pub is comfortable and very cosy, as is the ambiance. Add splendid service and to notch beers and you couldn’t find a better pub.

This is a beer enthusiast pub. Lots of choices. Great atmosphere, very busy . We didn't eat. Traditional feel but with a bar atmosphere. Will come back to sample more . Mens toilet is upstairs and so is additional seating, there is a disabled toilet downstairs.

Fantastic pub really draditional. Bar staff lovely. Great pint of Timothy Taylor. Plus I fancy the lady with the tattoo on the back of her neck.

Visited here for the first time on Tuesday 29th August 2023. Lovely pint and great service. I could hear music from upstairs so followed my ears to the upstairs room. There were about 7/8 folk musicians jamming and they were kind enough to let me sit and listen. It was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. They are there every Tuesday. I'll be back!!

Lovely place, dog friendly, great service and friendly people.

This was our first pub of the day and it didn't disappoint. 18th century pub kept up well. Lots of beer choices. I had a Tinderbox West Coast IPA 6.3% from Fell Brewery out of Cumbria. The staff was very nice and the toilets were clean.

A great night out. This is definitely a pub with an oldie worldie feeling about it. A superb choice of reasonable priced real ales, plus a few different largers to also choose from. Great and helpful bar staff. Also very handy to explore Otley town centre, with it's many other drinking and eating establishments. The stunning Otley Chevin is also within spitting distance of the town centre with breathtaking views over Otley, and the beautiful spa town of Ilkley, with it's famous moor which is also great for walking is only about seven miles away. Both towns also have lovely riverside walks alongside the River Wharfe.

This is a great 'basic' pub and is one of my favourites. A good range of well kept beers (cask, draught and bottled) with a rustic/old appeal. Local CAMRA pub of the year 2023. AND a generous range of whiskies and gin!! Not a family pub (no under 18s)

One of the best pubs around for ale choice. A good selection for everyone, and really friendly staff.

Love the ales in here. Wish there was a more 'bog standard' lager on offer, as all the lagers on offer are dearer than the ales.

Lovely little traditional pub in Otley! They welcome well behaved dogs, lots of real ale on the pumps and a fantastic Dortmunder lager, which has replaced Amstel. Staff are always welcoming and friendly.

Great pub. No music. No games machines. Great bar service. Great beers.

I went Thursday dinner time for the easter beer festival just one person working ann(e) even though it was busy and everyone was wanting something different she never lost it always polite and chatty when possible I enjoyed the 3 hours I was there

We went there as part of a group outing, however a couple of the drinks we ordered the staff gave us 2 seperate parts to the drink and we had to mix them ourselves (snakebite) however when the drinks git mixed they produced something that was undrinkable, very lumpy and cloudy but when asked if they could replace them they refused and made us buy more drinks. Everything else we had was fine it was just 2 of these drinks so just be aware if ordering this perticular drink and it turns funny they won't replace it.

The best real ales in town, beautifully kept and expertly served. This pub is a real gem with an exceptionally convivial atmosphere. Impromptu music sessions too in the cosy upstairs room. Highly recommended!

Excellent beer, at surprisingly low prices, with great service. Visited this week for our annual Christmas catch up, and despite it being very busy, there was no problem being served, and fantastic beer.

Excellent selection of well kept draught beers. Good ciders too. Some kegs of industrial beverage too. Beware of the low ceilings if you are tall :-)

There are a couple of benches outside to sit on with a pint and enjoy the last of the afternoon sun, having a chat with the friendly locals.

The staff need to be more welcoming.

A lovely and lively 18th century pub with a great atmosphere. Sadly they only sell basic coffee but they have a wide range of alcoholic drinks.

Always good range of real ales as well as a large range of Gins and Whiskeys. Friendly knowledgable staff. A must visit if in area

Great Pub,had been recommended by a friend who lives locally. He knows that I'm an old CAMRA member and very picky about my beer. Ryan, behind the bar, was really friendly and let me taste the West coast style IPA that they also had on tap. I actually live in San Diego so know my IPAs. Absolutely lovely, so had to get a 2 pint box to take back for my friend and I to eat with our curry. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Attended twice now. The first time was excellent with good beer and a lovely lady serving behind the bar. Second time, Friday 19th, ordered my beer and bag of nuts, and having handed over a tenner was short changed by the bar man! I knew exactly how much I had on me, so the £4.19 change was actually the price of the drinks! Won't be returning. Would rather go somewhere with honest staff

Fantastic drinking pub, often with brilliant musicians meeting to play folk tunes. Not to be beaten in Otley for choice of beers, which is saying something

Traditional pub, good ale, great staff. An excellent pub to visit if you enjoy chatting without the distraction of loud music, TV or fruit machines. No pool table or dart board, just perfect for spending a day or night out with friends or family.

Had a few pints with friends after work.. As always plenty of happy drinkers saying hello and enjoying their drinks. Very friendly great selection of beer and they brought it to our table.

Twice winner of the Leeds Camra pub of the year and properly independent privately owned pub. It has an excellent selection of beersand occasionally has festivals featuring beers from a certain part of the country. It doesn't have a menu but has sandwiches in the afternoon and it is dog friendly

I've reviewed this place before with 5 stars and it is still that good. Lots of choices for cask beer drinkers at prices that don't leave you feeling ripped off. Spoilt for choice in Otley !

Great little pub. Landlord Chris is always welcoming (unless his football team have lost, then all bets are off! 😁), as are the rest of his team. Good choice of ale, reasonably priced, which is good for us oldies as it keeps the chavs out! Would definitely recommend. 👍🍻

Hard to believe this wasn't always a pub. A very old, cosy little place. Always a great choice of well kept beers and a friendly welcome.

Being a fan of 'proper' pubs and good real ale, this superb bar was a great discovery. A warm welcome, great prices, spotlessly clean and a warm atmosphere, in an 18th century converted cottage. Well done to all who run this place. There’s only one downside….I don’t live next door!
