Cha Lounge in Leeds

What a great place to eat! It’s warm, it’s cosy and the food is amazing! Our lunch of sandwiches was very tasty and the portions very generous. Good gf and vegetarian options on the very comprehensive menu. Close by there was a large party of people of all ages having the most sumptuous of meals with so many different cakes, pastries and sandwiches-a veritable feast! A nice touch was the arrival of my pot of tea together with an egg timer set to run out as the perfect brew point was reached. Lots of seating options including settees. I as Leo liked the idea of being able to order and pick up groceries. This is definitely somewhere that I will visit again; highly recommended!

Great afternoon tea with some different things like samosas! Amazing service and a calm atmosphere. Large selection of teas and great choice of sandwiches. Really worth a visit for an afternoon tea which I have to say, is just as good, if not better, than afternoon tea or fortnum and mason!

Me and my cousin went here for breakfast this morning. The food was very flavoursome and yummy. However, it took a really long time for someone to come over to the table to take our order and even longer for the food to come. When it did come, the portions were small, and in my opinion, over priced. I’m not one to normally write a review about portion sizes and service times because life is often too short to complain about things like this. What brought me here is something I think is really important that needs to change. We both had the ‘moon milk’ because we thought it sounded tasty. However, very shortly after having it, a completely unmovable wave of exhaustion came over us. Bright lights started to give us headaches and taking steps seemed like a massive chore. Upon looking it up, this is a drink supposed to help with sleeplessness and should be enjoyed before bed. There was no warning of these effects on the menu and after a painful walk home, our bodies are now aching with exhaustion. I strongly recommend you put a warning out in the future.

Delicious afternoon tea today. Opted for the Indian infused one with bottomless Prosecco. Excellent value. Delicious food, fab service and a lovely setting. We will be back.

Easily among the best cafes in Leeds. Relaxing, great service and the food and drink is always amazing quality. Highly recommend the Daal of the Day.

Stopped in here on a sunny Saturday and the atmosphere was nice and chill with the full length window open. Staff are super friendly and really helpful. We ordered the samosas but as we got there close to closing, we were told the last ones left were not perfect and offered us them smashed and mixed with the sauces and veg as a chaat, it was amazing! The eggs and salmon tasted super fresh and the daal was delicious. Loved the fact that on the menu needs I told you about all the ingredients came from. And of course we could not leave out the amazing chocolate flapjack 🤤🤤 and great drinks. Will certainly be returning and recommending.

Great Customer Service and excellent food.

We went here twice for brunch when in Leeds for the Rob Burrows Marathon. It’s a lovely place with great, friendly service by a top guy (sorry didn’t get his name) Lots of healthy choices (I had porridge 1st day, wife had frittata with cheese & mushroom) but the deluxe breakfast was reeeaaaalllly good! Pressed juice was delicious. My wife had the mango smoothie both times. Will defo go again when next in the area and highly recommend. Shame it wasn’t very busy either time, we went around 11am both days. Deserves to be packed out.

Lovely blueberry pancake with yoghurt and a small amount of strawberry pieces. A very light crumb / texture which was a pleasant surprise. Not as squidgy and bouncy as you expect from a buttermilk pancake. More like a cornbread sort of texture. Sadly my pancake was a bit less blueberry’d compared to my friends. It did amuse me that it came as one giant pancake vs a stack of smaller ones. Either prices are outdated on the printed menus or they overcharged us for our juices and drinks. The orange juice was listed as £3 on the menu but when they put it in at the till they charged us for £4.2, unfortunately didn’t scrutinise the receipt too closely until later. Service was a bit unfriendly.

It was a pleasant atmosphere, with cosy aesthetics. However, although the staff were friendly, the service was dissatisfying. The waiting times were really long. It took over an hour to receive our food, which wasn’t to our tasting. The drinks took a while to arrive too. Not satisfied at all.

We had a lovely vegan breakfast here though we would have liked a bigger portion. Food was excellent as were surroundings and staff. The bakes we bought for the train journey home were excellent too!

Lovely little gem! I couldn't find anywhere selling coffee with oat milk before 9 am in this area, so this was like a God send to me this morning. The cappuccino was hands down the best drink I'd had all day too. I also snapped a cute pic of the sign hanging in the window while I was there because I thought it was really thoughtful.

The best little cafe in leeds by far. Really chilled atmosphere. The food is all fresh local ingredients cooked to perfection. Great menu choices and the eggs are just 👌. The food and the staff are amazing. Great service.

Just had a full English there, straight up the best toast I have ever eaten. Sausages on point too. Worth it just for the toast but cracking people and place too.

Amazing homemade brunch! Lovely relaxing cafe situated on Dock Street just south of the river. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Food and drinks were delicious with a real attention to detail - try the smoothies it’s a must! Can’t wait to visit again.

We visited for the Indian Tapas last night. The flavours were amazing! All the food was so fresh and nice touches with each dish. The Gambas and the slow cooked Lamb were highlights! Cha Lounge is a great setting for a relaxed evening. We will be back 👍

Great indian tapas.bit unexpected due to not knowing about this hidden gem and their indian tapas(english breakfeasts are the best in leeds now the best indian also ) .not your usual indian meal .beautiful homemade food but in tapas made by krishma who knows her stuff.defo be back.maybe under ordered but wont next time

Nice food, place and service, specially a very welcoming staff. But they didn't have half the things I ordered, and when I ordered sundried tomatoes (which are in the menu) they gave me roasted cherry tomatoes instead, not the same thing at all. I would not be against going again, but it was not the best first impression. Impecable service though and I love the fact that they source their products locally.

The Cha Lounge is a new establishment based on healthy eating and ethical food sourcing. It is small, rustic and relaxing. There are hot and cold beverages, freshly prepared with no or minimal processing of ingredients. There are both hot and cold foods and plenty of vegetarian options. Many of the options are snack or street type foods especially Indian. The premises are very clean as are the washroom facilities. A great place to just drop in, enjoy a light meal and or a drink.

We came as a group of 14 and preordered from the amazing menu which we were so excited about and none of it disappointed - the service for our group was great and the menu catered for all our complicated dietaries and everyone left very happy!

The atmosphere, staff and service is outstanding and the food is phenomenal. A hidden gem in a busy city, a stone's throw from the station. Will be back here again!

This is a must visit in Leeds...amazing cafe and restaurant serving up great food and drink. It is innovative and has many events such as Indian tapas jazz and curry and even laughing yoga. The owner is warm and positive the the vibes are warm cosy and thoroughly enjoyable...

We came upon this little gem, breakfast was outstanding, but discovering the evening Indian tapas was a revelation. We loved it, great service, thank you Martina, food was outstanding, recommend the gamba, and chicken trio. Thank you for a great evening.

My friends and i stumbled upon this place in the neighbourhood where we were staying. It had recently started opening all day and into the evenings at weekends, lucky for us! We loved it. Harry, our waiter, was attentive and enthusiastic. The decor and ambience of the place is quirky and welcoming. The ethos is that of fair trade, sustainability and environmentally friendly. #BeCurious The dishes were absolutely delicious and the organic Spanish wine too. We had a selection of curries with rice and bread and stayed for a couple of hours. We would not hesitate to recommend it and would revisit given the chance. Thanks to all the team.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon for an afternoon tea booked through a Groupon voucher. The staff are lovely - very friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea was also lovely! The sandwiches are great - not just your bog standard ‘egg mayo’ and ‘cheese and pickle’! There are options like halloumi, salmon or Brie! Lovely. A good range of cakes too - although I would have happily switched out the large brownie for an additional sandwich! Recommended :-)

Lovely place in the centre of Leeds but off the beaten track. Really friendly staff, warm café with a chilled vibe, excellent menu championing some local producers. We shared a veggie breakfast and the blueberry pancake, and had a clean green smoothie, and a carrot juice. Highly recommend!

Tried the new tapas curry nights last night. Very quiet as it’s a new experience. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a visit. Lovely food made to order and very, very tasty and reasonably priced. Not massive portions however it is Tapas. I do wish them well with this venture and all the best for their success. Also nice wines and beers. Staff are very attentive and welcoming. The chef is a lovely lady who can cook up some fine spicy and interesting takes on popular classics ! We will be back

Bought a groupon voucher for afternoon tea, as I liked the fact that you can choose your own sandwiches, unfortunately when we got there they didn’t have any ham which is the only sandwich I would have eaten! Hubby loved his selection and they did look very nice. Also came with sausage rolls, carrot & cucumber with hummus and chutney dips and a slice of Brie. The picture on the advert showed lots of nice cream cakes! You don’t get those but you do get a mini lemon tart - very nice, caramel cheesecake, like a chocolate Bakewell slice, a warm raspberry type flapjack - I loved the flavour but it was a little bit soft & mushy and a nice warm fruit scone with the smallest pot of jam & cream (could have done with a pot each) a cup of tea and a glass of Prosecco, it was very nice and well worth the money. It’s a lovely little place on Dock Street and the service was great, very friendly and attentive, would definitely return

Nice seating area. Fantastic staff Good choice of coffee, teas and smoothies. Food was brilliant too I had egg Benedict and my hubby had bacon sandwich.. both beautiful. Toilets clean

I don't really understand why it's got a 4.7 rating. The prices seemed to me to be too high compared with nearby identical competitors; the portions seemed small to me, no black pudding, only one sausage, only one slice of toast (eventually), small cup of coffee, tomatoes didn't seem very cooked, and the service seemed sleepy. It's a small place, and nothing special. I was quite underwhelmed really. I've been to other places where portions are twice the size for a similar price. I'm guessing the price is higher due to it being a place that seems to subscribe to the weather cult.

Awful service. We were quite a large party and submitted orders in advance. Appreciate it can take a while but they seemed completely disorganised and acknowledged they hadn't read our order. Drinks took 30 mins to arrive and we were waiting for food for nearly 90mins, disgraceful. Food was nice when it arrived but was missing items, had to have an extra egg brought over. Some staff looked like spare parts with no common sense when obviously a lot needed doing. We were offered 10% discount and extra drinks which was appreciated.

The breakfast was nice, but the coffee was truly awful. Watery, seemed to have very little caffeine content and a weird aftertaste. The food was fresh and wholesome. Sticky tables/menus a bit off-putting though - considering the price seemed gave more of a budget hostel kind of vibe. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Smoothies really do be hitting different, sorts your immune system out so hard I felt like I added another 40 years on to my life expectancy

Lovely place, we ordered Veggietarian breakfast with tea, coffees and brownies, definitely felt like a treat! Lovely and clean place, we were served by Patrick who was an excellent host!

Be careful to check your receipt as you pay. 2 of my group including myself at lunch time were charged double!

Cha Lounge is a very cozy place, I went there with my girlfriend on a Sunday and we had a lovely time. Their Full English Breakfast was the best we've had around Leeds, highly recommend to go and we will definitely go again for the atmosphere.

Great place! Wonderful service and really excellent food. Even the poached eggs seemed special with just the right amount of salt and pepper. The Hollandaise Sauce is the best you'll find. The veggie and the vegan brunches are superb. And the chocolate brownie, oh the chocolate brownie. Stop reading and start planning your next visit!

Popped in as it was just along from where we staying .. I had bacon and mushroom in granary bread it was delicious the bacon was a lush crispy and iced latte my ither had Eggs Ben 😋 It was his birthday while he nipped to the loo I asked if they had any cakes ready and they put a candle in it. 🎂 Great service fab food will be back 👍

Definitely recommend. We popped in for a midweek brunch whilst visiting Leeds overnight. The Cha veggie breakfast was excellent - food tasted fresh, nutritious and tasty. Handmade black bean and sweet potato sausages as opposed to the usual frozen fake meat were great (and for what it's worth, I'm not a vegetarian). Beans were lightly spiced and the poached egg also very good. Service was friendly and efficient. Great ambience inside. Coffee and orange juice also very good. Shame we don't live closer!

Aside from the "rye bread" which is much closer to white bread, it's a safe bet for an ethical, satisfying brunch.

Great food and very nice coffee, servers were all lovely even though they were rushed off their feet and the cafe has a nice welcoming atmosphere. Very busy (for good reason) and even without a booking I was accommodated for. Great wee Saturday brunch!

Went for bottomless brunch and had a great time! Veggie breakfast was lovely, the staff were all super friendly, and unlike most bottomless brunches I've been too, this felt much more chill and the staff regularly asked us if we wanted top ups so definitely good value for money :) Would recommend!

I love a good quality breakfast and I’m so happy to have found this place. It’s now my goto place for breakfast when I’m in Leeds. Every item was cooked to perfection, those tomatoes were the most flavoursome tomatoes I’ve ever tasted. The scrambled egg was seasoned just right. The owner Mandeep so super friendly and welcoming. It’s clearly run by a team who are passionate about making good food and providing a nice place to eat it in. I would highly recommend this place to anyone stopping in Leeds. I will return again soon Thanks again for a great breakfast.

I don’t think I have ever experienced nicer staff at a cafe! Food was so tasty and good value (got the scrambled eggs on muffin) and the cappuccino was also delicious! 100% will come back next time I’m in Leeds

Delicious brunch! Lots of tasty gluten free options and a great conversation with the (knowledgeable and friendly) manager about the effort they make to avoid cross contamination. Recommend for everyone, but for coeliacs especially!

Had a vegetarian breakfast here this morning and a smoothie. Fantastic breakfast: tasty and good portion sizes. Staff lovely. Cafe is run off renewable energy and the teas are fair-trade. Good value, 10/10

Food average. Didn’t like sausages - too salty. Beans overcooked - no flavour. Too much ginger in my juice.

If you want to experience the best food of your life, stop off here. The spices, the flavour, just absolutely beautiful. The vegetable curry is the best meal I’ve ever had. An absolute gem 💎 such a fantastic place!! Will be bringing all my friends and family. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

This time we were there for a friends birthday and had the place to ourselves. The girls couldn't have done more for us and the food was out of this world. The chicken skewers were unbelievable! Amazing.
