Went to renoufs today with a friend of mine and had the sharing board. Got served by a lovely guy called Morney (my spelling may be wrong so apologies) he was super knowledgeable and helpful throughout our evening. He also advised us to where to go in the local area for a drink. Overall great experience and excellent customer service.

A nice experience if you don't want a heavy meat laden meal

We visited after a family trip and were delighted with the restaurant. The service, tables, cleanliness, friendliness and atmosphere of the restaurant was exceptional. This was one of my most favourite restaurants that I’ve visited in recent years. Absolutely worth a reservation.

I came here with my mum who visited the UK for the first time. Besides the delicious vegan platter, wine, and accommodation to our bothersome requests the server I believe she is the manager as on the night there weren't no-one else besides her, named Marsha provided the best service I have experienced. I'm absolutely pleased that this was a place I chose for a special evening

Absolutely disgusting treatment towards larger group bookings, scammed our booking leader out of £70 and she only had some cheese and a glass of wine. FORCED a 10% tip charge, Is that even legal?! Would NOT recommend. This is why people don’t support small businesses.

This is genuinely the most shocking experience I have had with a restaurant. As part of a social local group, I booked a table for 14 people. Upon arrival, I asked the Waiter what would be easier for him when it comes to paying for the bill at the end (having worked in hospitality myself, I wanted to make sure it would be the easiest way for him). He told me to put all on a tab so people would come to the till at the end to pay individually. Well, let me tell you: - The Waiter was evidentally not trained to take payment. This is not on him, this is on the Management. - When I went to pay for my share, said waiter advised me that the £5 per person deposit had been taken out of my account (£70 total) prior to dinner. First red flag. Surely, you take the deposit if we don't turn up. - He then informed me that I could not take it off the bill and that I still had to pay for the food I had. - Oh, and in passing, nearly £20 for 4 peaces of cheese, 8 crackers some chutney and grapes.... - So I paid for my food, as I was assured the manager would call me back the next day to refund me my deposit. Because by then, I am out of pocket £95 for 4 pieces of cheese and a glass of wine. - We get to the point where everyone has paid, including a tip, and the waiter is still confused. So I have to sit at the bar, with the bill, the receipts and a calculator and do the maths (honestly!!!) for him because the poor man is extremely confused. - He shows me a bill with tips and a bill without tips. I mean this is the UK, Tips are not compulsory. As it stands, we have paid for the bill and some tips. Not as much as they suggested but still, some was paid. - We all leave, we can tell the waiter is annoyed and confused and apologetic. The poor man was about to have a meltdown. 2 days later, I get an email telling me that I will not get my deposit back. Why? 1) Only 11 of us turned up instead of 14. 2) We didn't pay the full tips. 3) Tips are not tips according to them, they are a compulsory Service Charge. 4) None of this was explained to us by the member of staff. 5) They can back their decision with the 'Small Print' of their booking system. I mean, this was a dinner reservation, not a mortgage application. Can you imagine I have spent that long writing a review for a restaurant that does not even cook food?? So yes, this is the worst customer experience I have ever had, I have told my friends far and wide not to support a business that cons their customers with 'Small Print'. As an Active member of a local Social Group, I was looking to make group bookings a monthly, if not weekly event but I shall be sure to find somewhere else, somewhere who values not just their customers but just basic decency. If I leave you with one thing to remember here. £95 for 4 pieces of cheese and a glass of wine.

Food was amazing the staff were very tentative. The whole atmosphere was just perfect, so thanks for a great night. We will definitely be visiting again very soon.

Josh, the barman, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wines on offer. Made the experience very lovely.

What an absolutely awful experience! I think it’s the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced and the staff made no attempt to hide the fact they wanted us to leave…….. really dreadful behaviour!

Had the best time & they fitted in on a low table as the high ones have stools without backs which is hard to stay there a long time! The meal was delicious we were starving & ordered the party board which defeated us! We had a lovely waitress called Mia who was very knowledgable & attentive ! Well done Southbourne Renoufs

We had such a a wonderful night with a fab atmosphere. The knowledge of the wait staff was incredible and they really helped us choose what to order, giving us recommendations. A special mention to Kharma, who made sure we had everything we needed!

Great food, great service. They were super accommodating of my requests and even let my 7 year old join the group. All the good was amazing and the wines were fantastic, we had the party board for 4 and walked out stuffed! Would def recommend for anyone to go there!

Came on a Monday night after walking past and what an amazing experience. It was quiet but had a great atmosphere with good tunes! Very knowledgeable gentleman served us- we went for two wine flights and the ultimate cheese board serving two people (we couldn’t finish it) we asked for the pate to be changed to the veggie one which he was happy to accommodate and 5 cheeses (and one meat) one of which was a great recommendation (we asked for a surprise cheese and got the Scottish pepper one) - definitely choose the Truffle Brie which is our absolute favourite ever now!! Pro-tip - dip the bread in the olive oil from the olives 😍 For two people the Ultimate board was a meal but could definitely serve 3-4 people as an aperitif! If we’re back in Southbourne we will definitely be back!!

Lovely and cosy cheese and wine evening at Renoufs. Great excuse for a date night especially at Christmas! The Ultimate board groaned under the weight of delicious cheeses, meats, chutneys, pickles, bread, and crackers. Can't wait to do it again.

Service was very slow, seemed disorganised and mismanaged. We had to keep approaching staff to order our food and drinks. We approached someone for the bill, they said the would get it and they forgot. We waited for a long while, we then asked the same person again and they were dismissive saying they had been busy. Had high hopes but would probably not return.

Been twice to the Southbourne branch - the first time I went with a friend and we had an amazing experience, the gentleman who I believe runs the restaurant served us and was really knowledgeable. He gave recommendations, was friendly and very calm throughout (as I believe he was the only one working). Real shame as the second time I went, was as a recommendation to my fiancé - food was delicious as per usual and presented beautifully. The lady who served us was lovely but she wasn’t very knowledgeable of the menu so when asking for recommendations we didn’t get much from her, which is a shame as it’s all part of the experience having someone talk you through the menu. We then ended up having recommendations which weren’t anything special..

Excellent place, very cozy for wine lovers and many styles of very divine and interesting sausages.

This was not just a drink it was an experience. The flights of wine are very reasonably priced, the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere is amazing. I am not a big drinker but enjoyed sampling the wine here! We ate before coming here so sadly didn't try the cheese but if I'm back any time soon I will go back.

Wonderful evening! Thank you to the team at Renoufs Southbourne. We had a lovely evening with some fantastic cheese and wine! We ordered the £39.95 sharing board which came with a choice of 3 meats and 3 cheeses, pate, bread and pickles. We added a baked camembert, hot chorizo and one extra cheese. Probably a mistake on our part as we had to leave some as there was so much! The cheeses were lovely, in particular the Red Devil chilli cheese was gorgeous. The meats were great, especially the venison salami. Special shout out to James, the manager and sommelier, who suggested the orange wine, Martin Codax. It was really quite special. Thank you! We should also mention Imogen, who took our order and was very polite, professional and friendly. We ordered gluten free bread, but we didn't make it clear it was for the both of us (our fault), so when 2 baskets came out, one gluten and one gluten free, they changed the gluten one without quibble. Lovely ambience, fantastic staff and some of the nicest cheeses we have had. Also, very reasonably priced. Thanks guys, and see you again soon!

Brilliant attention to detail by host.

Silly but did not know this is a cheese and wine bar when I visited. Stayed and had a really nice experience will definitely go back and would highly recommend.

Had a great night on Friday with my partner. Although there were a couple of mix-ups with the order, the girl (who was working at the bar) helped sort it out straight away and was attentive, and happy, as well as the manager. The only feedback I would give to help is the younger chap could do with a bit more training on the floor and welcoming guests as he initially turned away us and another couple. We then went away and booked and came back pretty much within 10 minutes, but there were seats available for the other couple so he turned away customers unnecessarily. Other than this it was a fab night!

Great atmosphere. Great staff. Could maybe think about the bar layout but otherwise amazing. Would definitely go here again!

My friend and I had the most wonderful meal here on Saturday night. Our waiter was called James and he made the experience truly worthy of a 5 star review. Our foor was more than enough for two people, tasted amazing and incredible value for money ( we went for James recommendation) The atmosphere was beautiful and fun, the wines were great and we will be coming again

Our first visit to Renoufs in Southbourne although we have previously been to the branch in Lyndhurst. We were a group of 5 and chose the party board for four with added extras of a baked Camembert and pork pie. With 200 wines available the best way to try a selection is to choose a flight. Knowledgable staff and delicious platter. Given 4/5 as it was very quiet on the day we went so lacked a bit of atmosphere.

I have been here a couple if times and it offers a superb dining experience. The casual dining on offer is good quality and the servers are knowledgeable about the menu. Food is brought on large wooden tray that fills the table with variety if cheese an meats. Yum!

I love Renoufs. It's a warm, welcoming , vibrant place to go out with friends, drink great wine and eat lovely good. Go on. Ya will, ya will, ya will!

Nice but a bit overpriced imo. Service was hit and miss, possibly because it was very busy (and loud!) on Saturday evening Probably great if you're a hipster though.

A beautiful restaurant with amazing food. The staff were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. As a vegan dining here for the first time I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my vegan platter was EPIC! The mushroom pate was sooooo good. The wines we chose from their extensive menu were delicious. We will be back!

Amazing value for money fantastic service great wines and food

We had a large group for a cheese and wine evening recently. Elise and the rest of the staff to serve us were fabulous as was the food and drink. Top marks, we felt very looked after!

Excellent,great idea. Lots of good meats and cheeses and extras. Do not expect to see steaks or fish it's fine cut smoked meats excellent salamis and so much more. The selection of cheese's is amazing with various chutneys and dips to accompany this feast. Well done.

I really dont want to have to review Renoufs this low but when you admit you have your toilet drains overflowing into your kitchen and you ick your toilets but carry on serving food that has been prepared and we can see staff having to avoid a puddle of toilet drains when the kitchen door opens it's not good. The restaurant should have been shut immediately. We left as we cant do without a toilet and they had no idea how long it would take to fix or if if could be. This is a serious violation of health and safet it should have been shut immediately

First time here and it was amazing, friendly staff, great food and wine, and very relaxing.

A lot of choice and interesting cheeses and meats. Good range of wine, would be nice to have a few more available by the glass

STUNNING. We stumbled across Renoufs by mistake, what a beautifully set out bar! Service was great and the lad that served us definitely was clued up on his wines and Port. The port flight was absolutely spot on, well presented and every port was a delight. Definitely can say I'm now a Renoufs fan and will definitely be trying out the local bars around the area and can't wait to try out the cheese boards. We will be back... SOON!

Superb evening out with my wife as recommended by a local. The flight wines were a great way to experience different wines. A great choice of cheeses which paired nicely with the wine. If you’re a fan of wine and cheeses this place is an absolute must.

Really enjoyed the experience. You may need a bag of chips on the way home after. Quite a surprisingly limited selection of cheeses, the Coop over the road had a broader range, and the charcuterie section was weak too. Wine good.

The venue is really pretty with fairylights which create a nice ambience. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. We had a sharing board of 3 cheeses each, which was lovely! Decent portion sizes too, would visit again

This place was so lovely and made you feel exclusive. I went the day before the second lockdown and the atmosphere was dimmed, romantic and intimate. Perfect for a date or a girls night out like I had! We got the party platter and it was perfect for four! We also got a flight of wine each and they organize it via tiers. Really lovely place and would be happy to go again!

This was our first visit and we will definitely be going back.The food was excellent and a really good choice for all palates. The ambience was lovely and the staff warm and welcoming. The staff explained all the choices and made time to explain the menu. The cost was totally reasonable for the food, wine and service. The restaurant itself was set out perfectly and the music was brilliant and not too loud or overwhelming, allowing us to have an easy conversation.We would definitely recommend Renoufs in Southbourne and will definitely be visiting again.

Although it was very enjoyable, the size portions were, to be frank, disapointing.I did look at the website before going and there was an incredible 56 cheeses but on the evening we went , only 22 were on offer. We ordered for 4 people, this included 8 cheeses and 8 meats. Now I like my cheese and was really looking forward to the meal but when it arrived the cheese portions were tiny, only really enough for two, the meat thou was adequate. Also the chutney we were given was only enough for one person. With a glass of wine each, the price was £80+ which was too much for what you got. As I said before I love cheese so it is a shame for me to say that I won't be going back.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff helped make our evening a very pleasant one. The choice of wines and spirits was truly exceptional. The platter we chose was amazing and excellent quality.

Absolutely amazing as per usual. Top service, top food and top drinks. Staff were 10/10 for dealing with 3 loud and obnoxious "Karen's", who couldn't stick to the rules and got overly sensitive when they tried to move tables to the bar, but were advised that due to strict covid rules it wasn't possible. Look out for the reviews they threatened to give, after being given a well deserved dressing down by staff and patrons alike, as they started to make a scene. Hats off Renoufs! Recommend the black bomber cheese and snowdonia red!

Y un gran ambiente.Tabla de quesos y carnes (4 quesos y 2 carnes) más pastel de cerdo y dos juegos de cata de vinos de oro 50 para los dos. Ver foto. Altamente recomendado.

Nos topamos con Renoufs en Westbourne al no haber reservado tontamente nada para un sábado por la noche. Se las arreglaron para meternos a los dos y Lee, quien nos cuidó fue una estrella absoluta de principio a fin.Los vuelos de vino son una idea genial, 3 vasos pequeños de tres vinos diferentes junto a una fuente de los más deliciosos quesos, carnes, ensaladas, aceitunas, paté y pan recién horneado.Es un concepto brillantemente simple, fantásticamente ejecutado, con un servicio que merece todos los aplausos que recibe.Bravo, volveremos pronto.Gracias, en particular a Lee. ¡Buen trabajo!

Really enjoyable evening. Lovely staff

Been looking to try this for ages but wasn’t that impressed. Was ok but not really worth how much it costs. You can have Camembert included in the 3 cheeses ( platter for 2) but if you want baked Camembert it costs an extra £9 and is classed as an extra, which I thought was quite a rip off, £50 for some cheese and biscuits and one soft drink each not really worth it when you can do it at home for much cheaper. Wouldn’t return unfortunately.

Desde el momento en que entramos por la puerta, supimos que iba a ser una experiencia especial. ¡Nuestro camarero fue amable, informado y infinitamente paciente cuando hicimos todas las preguntas relacionadas con queso o vino (y pastel de cerdo) conocidas por el hombre!No hace falta decir que pasaron dos horas en un cielo cursi. Las selecciones de queso y vino eran amplias. El único punto menor de la noche fue la crueldad mental involucrada en elegir qué quesos y carnes elegir para nuestro plato. Fue un toque encantador proporcionar los vuelos de alcohol para que pudiéramos elegir los favoritos.¡Con suerte, Renoufs se ramificará más al oeste hacia el sur de Gales!Recomendaría probar esto si eres un amante del queso.
