If you love cats go here. But be prepared to have to share them. Also don't worry about which table you pick as you can move around to look at all the cats there. Definitely try the iced mocha and the brownie.

What an amazing place! So friendly and welcoming. Their accommodation for the disabled, both physical and mental is superb. I suffer with FND and have an autistic 12 year old daughter. We were both made to feel so at home and supported. The staff are so knowledgeable about the cats and the new addition of kittens. Honestly, one of the most relaxing and enjoyable experiences of my life. I can't wait to come back again. I just can not decide which beautiful feline is my favourite? I will have to keep coming back to enjoy the wonderful food and drinks whilst I decide. I genuinely can not recommend this place enough! Plus, they have fantastic merchandise to take a piece of this haven home with you and all money goes back to these beautiful rescue cats who call here home x

Such a beautiful place. You have to book the table. £5 per each person for one hour. There are just two tables are child-friendly: table 9 is for 2 persons and table 10 is for 3-4 persons. 10 beautiful cats live in the cafe. You can touch, play, but you are not allowed to feed them. Nice coffee, nice chocolate brownie. There are few parking places near the cafe, but you have to be lucky to find a free one🤗

Lovely visit as a surprise for our son today. Food and drink is expensive on top of the entry free. Staff were very knowledgeable and attentive, coffee was good. You could tell some cats just wanted to be left alone but other customers kept surrounding them but they have plenty of room to get away from people. Nice to visit once to see what they are about but doubtful we will return due to the pricing. In total for entry, 3 hot drinks and nachos came to £32.

This is a wonderful idea & provides a lovely calming environment for people to relax & interact with cats. The cats are all rescues & are cared for with lots of love & respect by their owners. We only had time to enjoy a cold drink on this visit. The banana milkshake was really nice as per my stepson & I enjoyed a 7up. This is a wonderful space for people to escape the crazy world & all its pressures. It's definitely a wellbeing & holistic environment for all who visit. This is a charity based business, so all proceeds go to providing this special place & the welfare of the cat residents. Donations are welcomed. It is a lovely place to introduce children of all ages to cats & how to be respectful & gentle with them. I think it would be a lovely place for everyone to visit. We plan to visit again very soon. Thank you for the work you do with these wonderful cats.

My boyfriend and I both went and we left rather disappointed. We understood that because of the Cat's backgrounds we couldn't approach them so we waited but the limited cats there were outside of their "bedrooms" were too busy fighting each other or hiding from customers. Our server had the quietest voice ever and it was incredibly difficult to understand most of what she had said, on top of that had a chalkboard to note down our order and still had to come over to ask us a couple of times what we ordered. Overall I was quite disappointed with my experience and found the whole place rather unprofessional given that there were more volunteer employees than real ones.

Honestly the best and sweetest experience I've ever had. They allow those with disabilities to volunteer here and this one server, I believe their name was Naomi, was so lovely. We had a nice conversation about our favourite cats towards the end, such a sweet person and honestly better customer service than I've seen from my coworkers. Most of the cats were napping but that's expected from kitties, just viewing them occasionally playing around with the staff was such a treat. I see most of the low reviews from people who don't understand how cats are nor are they respectful to those with disabilities and their restrictione which is such a let down because it all boils down to misunderstanding and ignorance. As an autistic person, I am more than happy to see such an ethical small business that seems so genuine, friendly and caring. I 100% recommend if you want to have a cute place to have a coffee, chat and relax among some cute kitties. Marijke is the cutest fluffball as well =^w^=

Depressing environment, the food was cold and tasted stale - the cats didn’t seem impressed to be there themselves. Downstairs felt like I was in my Nans basement with a few cats asleep. Manager was friendly but one the employees downstairs was on their phone the whole time and as we left an employee we hadn’t seen before didn’t even acknowledge us as she was to busy on her phone! We said thank you and she said bye still staring at her phone, yuck. Appalling. Wasn’t as good as I thought it’d be. The star is purely for the fact I love cats and it was over priced but as long as it’s going towards the cats wealth fare. Won’t be returning.

Had a lovely morning visit to pause cat cafè. Was unplanned so didn't prebook but luckily there was a slot. It did get quite busy at the end of our visit which created a really nice, friendly atmosphere. It was a very calming experience. Having already eaten we only ordered cookies and coffee/chocolate which was all lovely. The cookies were home made which was a nice perk. Majority of the cats were napping which we felt was cuteness overload ❤️ Was so nice to see them so content and chilled. They're obviously all very happy in their environment/habitat. What a pleasant experience. The staff we're all lovely and very attentive. I wish we could give more stars...definitely highlight of our week! Thanks for having us pause! See you again soon 🐈‍⬛❤️

Absolutely loved my experience here! Such a cute little café and of course adorable cats. They are so cute! Enjoyed my iced coffee and loved how the food is vegan with lots of gluten free options. Unfortunately I had already ate before arriving so couldn't try the food this time but I'm excited to try on my next visit. You can tell how much the staff adore the cats and know all their habits and personality traits and they are happy to share any info on each of the cats if you ask. The staff were all really friendly and the lady that served us with short brown curly hair was so lovely. The cats have a wonderful environment, with lots of comfy beds, sooo many toys, scratching posts/pads, towers and even a built in climbing course all around the ceilings. You can tell they are all extremely content, well looked after and healthy. The atmosphere is really relaxed and calming which is great for the cats as well as those of us that get overstimulated. I would recommend to book the downstairs tables as this is where most of the cats are. However after ordering you are free to wander about wherever you like anyway so we did head downstairs after our drinks. The downstairs was fully booked so it was a little difficult at times to interact with the cats as there were a lots of people there, so there was quite a bit of standing around and waiting at some points. Will definitely book downstairs next time so that we can sit and chill. I would say don't come in expecting the cats to be extremely playful and approach you as they did mostly mind their business and weren't interested in playing with toys. Which is completely fine and totally normal/ expected cat behavior and the cats were more than happy to be stroked when we approached them. Although I'm sure at different times of the day will be more playful, I'm pretty sure they had just ate when we arrived so they were a little more sleepy. But don't get me wrong I very much enjoyed the experience and just being around them and watching the cats be cats was enough for me. It's just that some of the people I went with did expect the cats to be playful which is why I thought I'd mention it. Also think it's great that they offer placements to those with disabilities and learning difficulties, everyone deserves to thrive and get the support that this workplace offers. Many other businesses should follow suit.

First of all the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful, they attend to you right away. I had a good time there and would've rated it five stars but the cats aren't too friendly or interactive, they avoided all of my attempts to play with them and majority of them were asleep. Having had cats of my own, i understand that cats are living creatures and take naps all the time, but these cats were barely active. So don't expect to have a very fun experience, a bit boring. But in all i had a great time, and the food was great.

Pause is such a great little wholesome spot. Because there are lots of cats it’s more likely you’ll be lucky enough to catch one in a more active state (and not snoozing away the afternoon like most!) but obviously you shouldn’t come in expecting to be steamrolled by them! I absolutely love that they mostly stick to plant-based ingredients in their food (the soy vanilla ice cream is SO good) and that they make an effort to hire people with disabilities - we should therefore be extra patient to the volunteers as not all disabilities are visible, and they are helping out unpaid to keep the cafè going for our enjoyment! Also as a bonus, the coffee is great!

A really uncomfortable experience. Staff were eerily quiet, lingered silently staring at us when we were seated. Approached silently by a woman volunteer who just stared uncomfortably at us without a word. Felt like we were being watched rather than a pleasant cafe experience. When ordering i was not told that the milkshakes were made with soya milk (random?) as i am allergic to soy so had an awful reaction. The milkshake itself was awful tasted nothing like chocolate and served in a dirty glass. Also to mention we did not get spoken to when ordering she came over with a board and stared. Cats looked depressed and were ushered away by the silent woman when one actually came over to socialise with my group. A really bizarre experience which left us all really uncomfortable. Left after 20 minutes as the whole atmosphere felt very hostile and a bit frightening. Overall, staff are eery and distant and seem to want the cats to stay away from guests, expensive for the experience of watching sleeping cats from a distance, a lack of information on the menu disclaiming the use of soya milk as a standard, and an overall negative and creepy experience. Will not be returning and hope the cats escape from there also as it’s understandable why they seem so sad.

The team clearly care deeply for the animals and they have a remarkable space to live in. Unfortunately, most of the cats seemed to be asleep when we went, and you cannot touch them when they’re in this state so there was a fair bit of waiting for something to happen. Nonetheless the entertainment from a small group we did see was worth it. A good small business to support.

All staff and volunteers were very friendly and tell you any cats names and a bit about them once you are booked on the way as you are taken to your table. There are cat toys scattered about to encourage the cats to have play if they feel like it. So good interaction as and when the cats feel like a play. There are loads of cat beds and cosy spaces for them to rest, sleep, or play. Our food was really lovely, lots of vegan, and vegi choice. Don't let that put you off, because it tasted fresh and very good. Loads of choice of drinks as well! Food arrives in boxes with lids, just in case a curious cat wants you to share! Pretty lacklustre experience. Main reason we went is because it’s a CAT cafe yet in our time there we saw 3 that were awake and one interaction which last 10 seconds and left as soon as he was stroked. Wouldn’t recommend unless your a vegan who enjoys looking at cats from a distance. Not one star as I assume the foods good for the v and vgs. Service was average but have a good message behind it.

Lovely cafe, a cat haven! Cats seem happy and well looked after, and have space to leave the main cafe area and be away from guests if needed in their back room so they are not overwhelmed, they have loads of space to play, climb and sleep. Lovely to see a cafe with a good cause. I had soup the first time I went and it was fine but I wouldn't choose it again, seemed like it may have been from a tin, but my second visit I had a falafel wrap and it was fresh and delicious, I definitely recommend those and their coffee and milkshakes are very tasty. Staff were friendly and welcoming, they have volunteers and also have staff with disabilities who are wonderful and work hard to make sure visitors recieve great service and a smile! A wonderful gem in Bournemouth.

Lovely place and such cute lil moggies. Well loved and protected by the staff who clearly have so much love for them. Love the interesting layout inside. Very cool. My dining buddy loved their food. However, on both times my coffee was tepid, lukewarm, yuk.

Absolutely loved our trip to this lovely cafe. It was so clean, staff were very helpul and friendly. Food was a good price for large portions (we had the nachos) and very tasty and loved how it came in the boxes to stop the cats from stealing anything! The cats were wondering about and Michelle the white one came and sat on my husband's lap and then on the sofa with us which was cute. Cats seemed very happy and chilled and I would defintately return in the future.

No complaints about the very friendly staff or how well the cats are looked after - but found it way too expensive for the amount of food we got. Thought that with the veggie burger there would be fries / chips accompanying it, but instead of the filling meal I expected, I got a very small burger, a handful of nachos and a few salad leaves. Wife’s portions were similarly unimpressive. Considering it was a total of £40 including the booking fee for 2 x small meals, 2 x drinks and a couple of small soya milk shakes, it was expensive since we had to go off and get more food elsewhere to fill us up. Since the concept is based around spending time with the cats, which you are paying the extra for, I think an extra 15 minutes over the hour before being asked to vacate the tables and leave, would also be better.

A bit underwhelming and felt rushed. So much potential here but the 1hr time limit completely defeats the purpose of a relaxing place to enjoy some cat company. The cats were cute and we would have stayed longer and ordered more food even though the food and coffee was pretty average. The attitude to bookings and the feeling of being rushed was extremely disappointing... I would suggest you increase booking time to 2hrs and improve food/coffee.

Absolutely loved this cat cafe! My partner and I have come from New Zealand on a 2 year working visa, I’ve been missing my kitty back home so this was just what I needed! The staff were incredibly lovely, the drinks were yummy and we got lots of pats with the cats! Highly recommend for some cat love (and also so cheap compared to cat cafe’s in NZ!)

Went there with my date on saturday, it was super busy and a bit overwhelming for guests and specially for the cats i imagine. Id recommend a visit during the week as theres less people, so you'd have more interaction with the cattos. Had the apple cake, bit dry but good, have the cat-pu-chino hehe, it was amazing (Sorry for not putting the cup correctly before taking the pic T^T)

We come here often before going to the beach and it’s excellent every time. Lovely vegan options. Coffee is perfect. Outside has a chalk board to keep kids entertained. Perfect stop for breakfast first thing in the morning.

Staff were ridiculously rude all bar the glass collector. Genuinely wouldn’t piss on it if it was on fire. Never had to write a review before but the staff were discussing.

Went in for dinner on a Friday night. Unfortunately my meal was barely edible but even though I hadn’t eaten all day I still only managed half of it. My partners slow cooked beef was good but my steak pie was overcooked to the point that the moisture had been sucked out of the meat and pastry resulting in tough, stringy beef and a dry, hard crust. The potatoes and gravy were tasty but the accompanying swede, carrots and broccoli were woefully overcooked and literally disintegrated to the point I had to scoop them onto the fork. Highly disappointing meal.

We played here every day of our family holiday, and had a lot of fun. The cafe serves good snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Wish I'd read these reviews before going with my son for a long overdue catch up. Shocking service. Absolutely shocking. Lovely smiling waitresses giving the impression nothing was too much trouble. It clearly was far too much trouble. It's as if immediately you request something the delete button activates in the waiting staff. We ordered the following: tap water, egg mayonnaise sandwich, chicken sandwich and fries. Shouldn't be beyond most cafes to get sorted. After 20 mins no water which meant I had to go up ask for it again - not withstanding it as it was a very very warm day (despite being October!) and we were outside. After 30 minutes no lunch, asked where it was. Finally rocked up - and to my horror they toasted my bread for my egg mayo sandwich. Why? I wasn't asked if I wanted it toasted. OH - and no choice of brown or white bread. Chips were nice. Sandwich OK. My son liked his sandwich. Only one loo which wasn't particularly pleasant. Really don't bother. There are plenty of other options nearby. Wish we'd gone with the Caribbean option we looked at first.
