Amazing food in this small gem of a restaurant. All home made (even the sourdough) and very fresh. Highly recommended

Whilst vising the restaurant I had an opportunity to taste their prize winning Chilli dip. It was so delicious, the perfect amount of heat for my taste. It was so nice I obtained a jar! I will be going back for more. It knocks similar dips out of the park .. Congratulations to the lady chef !

Incredible food, huge portions and lovely staff!

Shared the mixed grill, all looked well until we turned over the meat and it was burned black. Shame as we love these guys and normally lovely food. Place was busy so we didn't complain to prevent any awkwardness.

I was on a family trip to Bournemouth and wanted to find a halal restaurant to book dinner for a big group. After looking at reviews online Baraca came up and it did not disappoint. The food was fresh, tasty and the staff so friendly and accommodating. We had the mixed grill and a collection of starters. Each item tasted homemade and was delicious. Would definitely recommend visiting if in the area.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years. The food is fantastic and lovingly cooked by the wife of the manager. She grows the herbs, microgreens, fruit and vegetables in the garden behind the restaurant and in her own larger garden, so they are fresh and full of vitamins. The portions are quite large and beautifully presented. The desserts with Turkish coffee are a dream. The service is excellent. Yes, Charminster Road has deteriorated over the years (I used to live nearby as a child and teenager) but there are still some gems. I tried a new Turkish restaurant across the road, but much prefer Baraca. The welcoming interior (lots of lanterns hanging from the ceiling) and, of course, the friendly service make it an exeptionally pleasant place to enjoy a meal. I'm looking forward to eating there again soon.

Simply the best Turkish in Bournemouth! Delicious home cooked food, we just keep coming back for more, for all celebrations bringing all our friends, as we can rely on it to always be excellent. The Chef uses her own home grown vegetables and herbs. The hosts are very hospitable and we are never disappointed. Very tasty and excellent value. Many thanks Baracas for a lovely birthday celebration and the lovely birthday surprise!

A wonderful restaurant with amazing and friendly staff. We chatted with the chef about the range of chilli sauces and how she was always perfecting new flavours. A delightful evening I’d recommend for couples wanting a lovely meal out.

Baraca, tasty, authentic food made and served with love. Little touches like bread and homemade flavoured oils mean that we felt welcomed from the start of our meal. As a vegetarian there was great choice on the menu and my husband loved the chicken wings. I had a delicious selection of halloumi and stuffed vine leaves. Great service and the little touches kept coming when the team found out it was my birthday and cake, music and dancing were shared. Thank you for making my birthday special.

Lovely restaurant with friendly staff

There are several ethnic restaurants on this road. Even though I haven’t tried all of them, I’m sure this one is the best. The food is excellent (please chose the traditional way of cooking, when there’s an option, otherwise you will be missing), but the setting is also great. Unlike the others, this family restaurant is set back a bit from the road, with a nice small yard on the front, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere. I’ll visit again !

Have been meaning to go to this restaurant for a long time and I finally did and it was very good,the food and service was great. The decor is a little old school but I get it,my only suggestion would be a updated dining area but it's not the end of the world,still a great restaurant.

It's the second time I've been to Baraca and I adore it, the food is perfectly cooked, tender and well seasoned. Armed with fabulous food and a wicked wine list my lover and I intend to attend there more often.

Fantastic food with friendly and welcoming service, what more could you want. The chicken shish was tasty, with generous portion sizes. Wonderful array of mezes which were all very nice too!

I had the lamb ribs and wine. The lamb ribs were juicy and perfectly cooked, and fantastic portion especially with the chips. The service was really friendly and the aesthetic of the restaurant is very warm and authentic. Great stuff

Excellent Turkish food, and lots of it. We ended up taking some home in a 'doggy bag' Would recommend this place, support them, restaurants are having a hard time currently. Use it or lose it...as the saying goes.

Stopped by for lunch. Wish I had come here earlier. Had the Meze, it was very good in quality, quantity and presentation. I hope to be back quite soon.

Average food. Tried a few vegetarian dishes but they lacked freshness and good taste. Cant comment on non-vegetarian dishes.

Great service, good portions, food ok. Humus had a weird taste to it (never had that taste anywhere else, and I'm a fan of humus), main mixed grill was ok but some of the meat was quite chewy. Service was excellent.

Been here a few times and just love the atmosphere as well as the food and the team and look forward to go many more times. Their home made chilli sauce is available to buy to take home and I suggest that you get some as it is just so tasty.

Always reliable with friendly, polite service and gorgeous, homemade food. A real gem if a place that is hard to find thesedays. We love the hot mezze selection and especially the homemade chilli relish.

A really great Turkish restaurant with attentive staff who are so good. Food is very very tasty and plentiful and the restaurant has a genuinely great ‘feel’. Highly recommend if you can get here, you won’t be disappointed- plus they cater for vegans and gluten free and vegetarians. Just go is my advice.

Popped in for an unexpected lunch. Very helpful gentleman who apologised immediately that the coffee machine wasn't ready as he has only just opened before realising we wanted lunch !! Food was excellent and priced fairly

What a wonderful restaurant! We first visited Baraca as a couple about 20 years ago. We now have teenage children, and whenever we ask them where they want to go for a meal out they always say 'Baraca'. The food here is beautiful - all lovingly prepared and cooked on the premises by the lovely owners. We like to order a table full of different meze dishes and share them between us. Each time we go they have our old 'favourites', but they also add new exciting dishes for us to try on a regular basis. Whenever we have family vising we always try to take them to Baraca as a treat, as we can be sure of a fantastic meal, in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, at a reasonable price. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Popped in for coffee and cake, what a great decision. We felt quite spoilt compared to going into a chain cafe. Cake and drinks brought to the table, beautifully decorated and very tasty. Relaxing lounge type music in the background and beautiful cosy atmosphere. A bonus also that the bathroom was very clean and fresh smelling. We will come again. Highly recommended.

Awesome place! all the products were house-made from their garden! All the dishes were delicious, very authentic and we ordered lamb shank, Iskender dishes (Grilled lamb ) and the Izmir kofte (meat balls).

My birthday Didn’t know what I fancied for my bday so while scooting through trip adviser see this and a few others In charminster road just like the fact it was busy!! Had lamb shish highly recommended and hubby had mixed grill again worth a try! They family are lovely and waitress so happy and can’t do enough for you! The hummus was the best, if you buy out of supermarket then once tasting this you won’t buy out of supermarket again…
