Rendezvous Cafe in East Ayrshire

On this occasion, I collected an Afternoon Tea for Two on Friday 21 February for my friend and myself. It was a feast of scrumptious delights from start to finish, especially the huge meringues!! My Husband shared it as well! Don't miss this Gem of an Eating Place Many Thanks to all the Staff involved

Decided to meet up with some friends who lived near by. What a great wee cafe with nice friendly & welcoming staff. Toasties looked lovely. I had a fruit scone with cream & jam which was delicious as was my hot chocolate with marshmallows & cream. Definitely be back to try more cake.

My family and I visit Rendezvous frequently, for both sit-in and carry out orders. In all the years we have been customers, we’ve never been disappointed. The food is freshly cooked/prepared to order, and the range of cakes is to die for. Amazing choice of both food and drinks. The staff are really friendly and go out their way to cater for fussy folk (my husband 😁). Now that they’re open on Sundays (due to popular demand) it’s a wee treat to head down for breakfast and a cappucino on a Sunday morning. Could not fault Rendezvous, Kilmaurs - it’s a wee gem of a place!

Poorest breakfast i have ever had for the price picture on face book bears no resemblance.Was so looking forward to trying this place.

Ask them to get an omelet, they told me only scrambled eggs. Asked for a Mozarella Tomato Sandwich, and got it with Salami in it, even when there was no Salami written on the menu, as a vegetarian, not happy at all. The Salad was old and unwashed, the service mediocre, will be definitely the last time to visit there!

Visited this cafe twice this weekend on a trip to kilmaurs to visit family. Very tasty Coronation Chicken wrap and fabulous cappuccino! Friendly staff too.

I was today in Rendezvous for the first time in a while; used to be a more frequent customer. Glad to report: it's still great. Lovely staff, the boss and her young assistants. Excellent cafe fare, and wonderful value. Lots of fellow cyclists in today. Locals and visitors should patronise this wee gem.

First time in today ,no nonsense cafe ,quick pleasant service ,nice tasty roll and a Malteser cake to wash it down ,reasonably priced ,will be back

Passing through Kilmaurs today decided to stop for coffee found this gem of a coffee shop on main Street. The two ladies could not have been more helpful the banoffee pie was just delicious very good portions too Highly recommended a visit

Two of us broke our bike ride at Rendezvous today, so that we could enjoy the sun at its pavement tables. The coffee and cakes were first-rate and at far better prices than we pay in cafés at home, 15 miles further north. The choice of cakes was terrific for a village café: we managed to show restraint, but will be back for more. Service was fast and friendly, and we were touched by the staff's offer to fill our water bottles. The local folk are lucky to have it, and it is an excellent stop for cyclists and tourists.

We were lucky to get a table. This wee jewel is very popular with locals. No wonder, the scones were freshly backed and the jam that went with them was lovely. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and we stayed and had a second pot of tea. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking for somewhere to meet.

Good honest unpretentious food, served with a smile and good service.Had a quick sandwich and soup combo, with coffee for two - all very good, particularly the tomato and red pepper soup, once we'd adjusted the seasoning to taste.Decor a bit tired, but the cafe is always busy at the weekends with cycling groups, which must be a recommendation

Fantastic value in this small friendly cafe with a good menu. Home made soups are great as is the service by the two owners

Been here a few times. Food is freshly prepared and top class. Extremely lovely staff and fantastic value for money. It's also nice and warm on a freezing wintery day.

The baking is good but the windows are all steamed up which doesn’t make for a very pleasant atmosphere. Coffee was not very hot. It wouldn’t take much to really improve this place.

Mi esposa y yo visitamos este café una vez más para el desayuno. La cocina casera es excepcional y el personal es super amable. No podíamos reisist los bollos caliente directamente del horno para terminar nuestro desayuno. Recomiendo encarecidamente este café para desayunar o almorzar. Regularmente uso Rendezvous para almuerzos o simplemente un café rápido. Dirigido por propietarios amables Olive & Avril. Este es un lugar que puede garantizar la comida es fresca y de un alto nivel. Inicio - hornear es una especialidad de la casa y las tartas en oferta y una vez probado cambio diario querrás volver por más - a menudo. Excelente lugar.

Great home baking. Great baked potato. Great staff. Big windows to watch the world go by. Always busy giving it a great atmosphere

Somos visitantes frecuentes a este café amable en Kilmaurs. El personal es cálido y acogedor, y nada es demasiado problema. Ofrecemos llevar a mi padre, que tiene demencia con nosotros, y él es siempre saludó como un viejo amigo. Desayunos y tortas y bollos son geniales son incomparables. Una visita obligada!

I've visited rendezvous several times and think it's a brilliant wee cafe. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always lovely! Very reasonable prices as well.

Cada vez que vengo a esta pequeña cafetería me sorprenden los precios y la relación calidad-precio. Nos las arreglamos para encontrar espacio suficiente para disfrutar de su home baking ayer y no me decepcionó. También tienen gran café descafeinado y té. Los propietarios son amables y el servicio es excelente.

This is the cafe that the cycling club love to fit into a Sunday run. Great food and value and first class service and attitude.The best value for money in the area.

I called in here for lunch today - in fact I made a detour to have lunch there as I'd enjoyed my last visit so much. Again the food was lovely and I had a wonderful Empire Biscuit which really was worth the detour.I worked out today that without a doubt it's not just the food that's so good, it's the staff. What a friendly bunch they are and it really made my visit all the more enjoyable.

Visited here for lunch today. The pastry on the strawberry tarts was exceptional. Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Will be back soon.

Been to this cafe a few times now and never been let down. I would definitely recommend the soup and sandwich combo which is great value for less than £4. The home baking is to die for and the coffee are good!

Found this cafe while my bike was getting repaired at the cycle shop across the road. Friendly service,fair prices,great home baking ...fruit loaf,banana loaf .....this is a secret....don't tell anyone....the best empire biscuits in Ayrshire.

Dropped in here on the way to a football match, sat outside on a lovely sunny day. Food was excellent, plentiful and very reasonable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The homebaking was fantastic!

Found this gorgeous little cafe today whilst passing time in kilmaurs.Cant compliment it enough.The coffee was lovely and the girls were so friendly.I was on my own and they made me feel so relaxed and welcome.Being a Restaurant owner myself I know all about customer care and this cafe certainly gets 10 out of 10 from me.Well done girls im sure you make all your customers feel the same.Dont let parking put you off,this is well worth finding a parking space for.

We had a brilliant coffee stop here this morning and made so welcome despite the fact we almost filled the shop in one sitting. A very warm welcome, great coffee and home baking. I recommend you check this wee gem out for yourself. The shop also sells beautiful gifts which I will come back to see sometime when I am not on my bike. Fantastic

Passing through Kilmaurs, came across this cafe. It has been recently refurbished and provides some real quality home baking and superb coffee. Highly recommend this establishment.

We visited this coffee shop in October 2013, the food was excellent. Omelettes, sandwiches, wraps, panini's, baked potatoes, soup, all day breakfast, something different menu, and great home baking, something for everyone and very reasonable prices. The nine of us who visited will definitely be visiting again soon.

Called in at the Renezvous cafe in the scenic village of Kilmaurs during a cycle tour of East Ayrshire. Found it to be fully refurbished with new owners having taken over recently. It has a homely feel to it - the hosts Avril and Olive providing every patron with a hearty welcome. This cafe specialises in home baking - the cakes are awesome. If you are on a diet, do not frequent here, lol. Seriously, the menu is quite extensive and very reasonably priced. I chose a cheese and ham toastie, and expected nothing special. However it came on a large plate complete with a very healthy sized portion of salad. It was lovely. The Rendezvous appeared to me to attract a more mature clientele. And as I found out, if alone, one is not short of conversation - they're a friendly lot. Biggest bonus for me was that the cafe has a large pavement in front of it where cyclists can safely park their bikes. I'll definitely be visiting the Rendezvous again soon.
