Warm & welcoming service in a lovely cosy environment. I ordered the strawberry matcha which was delicious, and the miso mushrooms, quite underwhelming as it was completely cold, but I can imagine it's lovely when served hot. Disappointing, but wouldn't stop me from returning since the staff are lovely and so is the atmosphere :)

We loved the food here. Flavours were great. We went for a late lunch so lots had already sold out, but loved what we had anyway. Cheerful friendly staff.

The messaging on this place is clear about its environmental priorities, so takeaway coffee comes either in a ceramic mug which they lend to you and ask you to give back, or an edible compostable cup! I went for the latter - had a nibble on the cup, kind of a cardboardy, biscuity, waffly thing with no sugar. I thought it was ok! Coffee itself (long black) was nice. Will come back to try the menu.

On the recommendation of our 18 year old son, we had the most amazing and tastiest breakfast EVER this morning at Remedy, York. The cafe itself is clean, cosy, welcoming and down to earth. The staff are polite and welcoming. I can’t wait to return and if you are visiting or live in York, I cannot recommend this place enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Came across this place on the Happy Cow app and so glad we did! It's very small and cosy, and we were greeted with a very friendly member of staff. All produce is organic and fresh and tasted fantastic, and it felt great to support a such an eco-conscious, positive small business. You could really tell a lot of thought had gone into the menu and they weren't the kind of meals you could just make quickly yourself at home. Loved it so much we went back in again on our last day in York!

On arrival the decor and place appeared lovely and cosy. It was recommended high up on the list for independent coffee shops on Google to visit in York. We just wanted a quick coffee. We were asked to leave as we had left over pizza in a box that contained animal products in and they didn’t want any ‘meat’ inside. We weren’t going to eat the pizza. We didn’t want to waste the food we bought and someone had kindly prepared. I would have covered it up with my coat and bag. We wouldn’t have been disrespectful as we knew you served food. This was disheartening, we just wanted a quick coffee, in a chilled atmosphere before leaving York. In today’s society there would be up roar if someone asked if a pizza, in a box was vegan and asked to leave because the coffee shops sells charcuterie boards. Do all your customers get questioned over their make up choices that may not be vegan products? Clothes made with real leather they may be wearing? People carry make up products and creams in their bags that may not be vegan. Are these checked for animal products before service? What if someone had a chicken and bacon pasta pot in their bag? Sincerely admire your passion for change. Shame it lacked the inclusivity. We respected your choice and left.

Our visit to Remedy in York, UK, was nothing short of spectacular. From the warm welcome by our insightful waiter, Jared, to the culinary expertise of Chef Chris, every aspect of our evening was exceptional. Jared's attentiveness and knowledge added a special touch to the evening, ensuring we felt well-cared-for without being overbearing. The vegan dishes, from the spectacular oyster mushrooms to an unforgettable homous, showcased the chef's dedication to crafting flavorful and inventive plant-based options. The relaxed atmosphere, unique music and a packed dining area, added to the overall charm of Remedy's. Jared and Chris (founder and amazing chef) play a significant role in making, in my humble opinion, this restaurant one of the finest vegan spots in York. A solid 10/10 for an unforgettable dining experience! And the wines hit the spot too!

Gorgeous food and wine! The variety of food is amazing, we both loved the artichoke - something we’d never usually try but remedy do it so well! The wines were so tasty too, with the orange wine being something extra special. We love the cosy vibe and the restaurant feeling like a home from home. Thank you SO much for such a perfect evening!

A tiny gem. Fantastic food, drinks and service. Vegan and eco friendly. We were 5 omnivores meeting a vegan friend and despite teenagers sceptism we all 6 found our food delicious (we all had different things). Great and detailed explanation of food by the main guy too.

Visited Remedy with family as they had been before and really liked it. I wasn’t disappointed! Absolutely delicious oat milk cappuccino (I am now an oat milk convert) and great food. Also very reasonably priced which is a bonus. Staff were delightful, enthusiastic and clearly passionate about their plant based and sustainable hospitality venture. It was very busy and I hope it continues to thrive.

Found this little gem of a Vegan cafe whilst visiting York for my birthday. The menu was a great change from the usual options most places offer Vegan diners … so I tried the Brussel sprouts with nuts and cream cheese on sourdough. It was an interesting dish, cooked fresh and if I am able to visit next year … I’d have it again! Yum! We had a very warm welcome on arrival and great service from the guys. Highly recommend Remedy for the food and ethos. 🌱🌎💚

It’s always nice to find somewhere new to eat in York and Remedy is a great find! Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff (Sebastian) when we asked about the origins and eco friendly aspects of the cafe. Very imaginative and super tasty menu to choose from. We will be back to sample the evening menu.

An amazing little café where a wonderful welcome awaits you. The staff are friendly and helpful ensuring Everton gets just what they want. Their pride in the presentation of their food too is outstanding. Sadly I don’t live in York or I would go there every week.

Visiting York for a couple of days and found the Remedy Coffee Shop. Absolutely blown away by the friendly staff and amazing food. The menu is totally unique and freshly cooked. Visited with my 12 year old daughter who loved the pancakes. This coffee shop is a must visit and my new favourite place.

The chickpea scramble is the absolute bizz and that French toast - cor! Service is great, message and ethics appeal very much too me; zero waste, environmentally conscious, and it all tastes great. Move over Robinson's, there's a new fave in town.
