really welcoming and nice environment, very kind, fast and super helpful staff. we took two slices of cakes (1 very good chocolate cake and 1 carrot cake which I didn't like) plus 2 hot chocolates (average) we spent around £20, we didn't eat anything else but the burgers inspired me and had a nice face !

Amazing food with a lot of options and the people were very kind. Whether you are looking for lunch or something sweet this is the place to go

The venison burger at this restaurant is absolutely amazing—so delicious! Pairing it with a bowl of soup makes it even better. Highly recommended! If you visit Portree and miss out on this venison burger, it would be such a pity!

The place is well located near the center. They have both sit in and take out. Staff is helpful and kind. We ordered both soups of the day, which were chicken and rice soup, and sweet potato and coconut soup. The sweet potato soup was so good we ordered the second bowl. Good quick lunch!

We came to this cafe both days we were in Portree. This was by far the best breakfast and coffee we had on our trip thus far. The staff were so kind and personable.

Quiet for breakfast, with lots of choice. The salty and sweet versions are excellent, the cappuccino is creamy as can be. The coffee is also good.

Below average food, very poor customer service and what's the deal with serving everyone with disposal takeaway packaging and wooden forks who are sitting down. Very poor. Found the actual options were very limited and I ended up with cheesy chips that just tasted grim. More like a cheap orange cheese sauce than actual cheese.

Food was amazing, especially the burgers. Some of the drinks were forgotten about by the staff who apologised, and they arrived after the food was finished. I would recommend this restaurant as a great place to stop and get lunch when visiting Skye.

Amazing venison burger and loaded fries. The popularity of Portree made getting a table anywhere difficult. We did get a table here after a wee wait. Food served in takeaway trays even though dining in, was super tasty but service lacked the attention to detail. Coffee was good. Slightly overpriced but Portree has the captive market, if you want to eat you pay for it. Would recommend a stop.

Visted again today as my first visit was pretty bad, they were very busy at that time. But it turns out the staff are just as rude and the food is just as over priced to sit in. I got a ham salad roll which was soggy, with one tiny piece of wilted lettuce, for £5 on its own to go! I wish I still had the photo I took, it was really a joke. Just want to say to our wonderful tourists, the country in general and on the Isle of Skye, people are lovely and are not looking to rip you off. This place is just a cash grab because every other place is qued out the door. Avoid and find true Scottish hospitality nearby.

Delicious sweets and a calm atmosphere This cafe is ideal for relaxing. The sweets are exquisite and the place is very quiet, with ample space between the tables, which allows you to enjoy without stress. The first floor, where the tables are located, offers a perfect environment to chat or work comfortably. A hidden gem!

We stopped in for lunch on a tour on the recommendation of our guide. They were super busy, so we were incredibly grateful they were able to seat us in the limited space available. The food was a bit bit or miss. I had the special - a lamb burger that was a bit cold and not particularly good, but my partner had the venison burger, which was fantastic. The chips served with both were perfect though. We were in a bit of a hurry and didn't realize until we left that I never got the tea I ordered.

The least that a waitress can do is a little effort to understand foreigners which have not English philology studies at Oxford. Especially one who wear curly hair and blue eyes, so stpd.

Overpriced, ok food, mediocre service

During my trip to the Highlands, I visited the burger restaurant and ordered three burgers for takeaway because the server told me there were no seats available. While my 13-year-old daughter and I were waiting for our food, we needed to use the restroom. I asked the staff where the toilet was, and the staff member told me that the toilet was only for dine-in customers. Takeaway customers were instructed to use a free public toilet on the street ahead, outside the restaurant, even though it was raining at the time. I found this rule to be unreasonable and uncomfortable. After standing for a few minutes, I felt increasingly uncomfortable and approached the staff again to ask why takeaway customers were not allowed to use the toilet, especially as I was feeling unwell. A young male staff member responded, saying, “I tell you patiently, listen carefully,” and repeated that there was a free toilet available after turning right and walking a certain distance. I firmly told him that I thought this policy was unreasonable and discriminatory. The manager then came out and pointed to a notice posted near the stairway, stating that the toilet was only for dine-in customers. During my discussion with the manager, I noticed that a few young staff members, two males and a female, were laughing openly, which made me feel humiliated. The argument also scared my daughter, who was visibly upset. After this incident, she refused to leave the car for the rest of our trip, and we had no interest in exploring the town at all. Later, our tour guide informed us that several Asian tourists had previously complained about this restaurant's unfriendly attitude. I also noticed that most of the takeaway customers were Asian, particularly Chinese. This was a very unpleasant experience—unlawful, unreasonable, discriminatory, and rude. Legal Issues to Consider: Discrimination and Reasonableness of Restaurant Restrictions on Toilet Use for Takeaway Customers 1. Discrimination Issue (1) Legal Background Under the **Equality Act 2010**, discrimination refers to unfair treatment of a person based on their protected characteristics, such as race, gender, religion, or age. Reasonable Expectation and Consumer Rights (1) Contract Law and Reasonable Expectation When purchasing food, a contract is formed between the customer and the restaurant. I really enjoyed my lunch here. The quality of food was great and merited the price point. I paid £12.75 for a large latte, a fruit scone with cream and jam and a savoury croissant. It was busy upon arrival but we were seated quickly although you have to order before you could take a seat. Staff were friendly and drinks arrived quickly. The scone was delicious although the fruit scone was mostly blueberries and not currants etc. but it was still great. The cream was light and fluffy with yummy jam. My Brie and cranberry croissant was very pleasant. The decor was light and airy with plenty of space between the tables. The reason this review is not a 5 is because the latte was in a glass and not a mug. The glass made it hard to drink at first because it was hot. The size of the latte also didn’t feel very large. It seemed like a regular sized latte to me but I suppose sizing is subjective from cafe to cafe. All in all, I would highly recommend this cafe.

Delicious coffee and cake! Order downstairs and then you can sit upstairs in a relaxed manner. Coffee and pastries are a bit on the expensive side, but that is the case throughout Scotland! It's worth it

Couldn't finish that thing they called "cake". Can't plug in a phone, and being pressed to leave although we had multiple drinks, and the room was far from being full... I do not recommend.

It's a small cafe, very well situated, that provides a nice selection of sandwiches and place to sit and eat upstairs. Service is swift and the food is very good. Prices are moderate.

The fries here are incredible. I come in here once in a while to order some fries and they’re delicious. The staff are very nice and the fries are made quickly. Would highly recommend.

This is the worst place at Portree. Do not go there or be prepared to get insulted by the staff for no reason. The food at this place is stale and stinks. They probably use old ingredients to make thier food. There are many good restaurants and cafe at Portree. We did a huge mistake by going to this place. Stay away!

It was all a bit confusing...... you have to order before you know if there is any seats upstairs. You get given a table number then we sat and hoped our lunch choices would arrive. They did, one with crisps and salad and the other with.. nothing. Both cold sandwich type of food but no side with one. The staff were busy but OK . Prices reasonable.

Visited here for breakfast on recommendation at our holiday apartment. Lovely array of pastries etc greet you on entry. We were seated upstairs and both enjoyed our bacon roll and tatie scone. All freshly cooked to order.

Variety of hot foods for takeaway. Egg sandwiches, rolls, and meat pies. We got 2 egg sandwiches, one egg, cheese and bacon muffin and a granola, yogurt, fruit combo. Also a latte. All good. We’ll be back to try their lunch sandwiches and sweets. Definitely recommend! Kind staff too!

Not so friendly especially if you have a dog, Whilst I was ordered about £30 worth of hot toasties, coffee & cake my hubby went upstairs to sit with our very well behaved dog. Didn’t cross our mind ( I know we should have) we couldn’t take him in as haven’t been anywhere he wasn’t allowed. Man went up after him and quite rudely said they weren’t dog friendly, ( apparently not just the dogs they’re not friendly with) fortunately I hadn’t completed the order so we went next door to a lovely dog friendly cafe where he was made a fuss of by the staff. Seems very shortsighted to exclude a group of people in a limited environment both from a business and customer service perspective.

Item priced at £4.50 and charged me £5, when I asked why the man said without an ounce of apologies that they need to « update the prices » £0.50 isn’t a big deal but so far on my watch this is called a scam. Really very, very good, very pleasant atmosphere with pretty decor (+1 for the little bouquet on the table). I had an absolutely incredible egg and cheese muffin. The servers are super friendly, we were well received. The desserts are delicious and the hot drinks are well decorated and very good. As a bonus, we have a view of the port. And what’s more, it’s not expensive 😁 (Brunch, lunch, breakfast, coffee)

Stumbled upon this place one morning for some breakfast and it was excellent. Ordered breakfast muffins which were delicious and the staff were really friendly too! Would come back here next time I’m in Skye.

Ordered a spinach&falafel burger that had salsa and guacamole . This burger had No taste just sweet chilli sauce, an extremely unripe tomato slice and a dusting of guacamole. I ate the Pattie and through the rest away.

Stop for lunch after finished Skye trail, at 12, busy but as it comes...after 1h I was ask to leave despite i didnt finished my meal, coffee and drink.that they need table as they are busy..i felt rushed and couldn't enjoy my food so i didnt finished it.

Great food had a cranberry Brie croissant, sweet potato coconut soup with a hint of chili and a orange lemon lime baked good. Enjoyed all of them. Reasonable prices and excellent food choices. The entrance and space to order was very cramped. But the staff was friendly and there was ample seating upstairs.

Overall, it's okay. The restaurant is quite nice: at reception, we take our orders and upstairs there are the tables. Visually it's clean but when we got to our table, the table surface was slightly sticky. As for the staff, I found them friendly and available. The decor remains sober but well arranged. In terms of dishes: the proportion is satisfactory. In fact, I had a dish of fries with crab sauce, visually it looks like poutine. However, towards the end it got a bit cloying and I only felt the crab flavor towards the end. On the other hand, their desserts were very good: I had a muesli outing with cottage cheese and fruit. In terms of price, it’s affordable: around 15 to 20 pounds. This remains reasonable.

If you want good food it's worth paying a little extra. Great coffee, and my breakfast bacon and Stornoway black pudding roll, one of the best. Especially while sitting in the warm sunshine, overlooking the Old Man of Storr panorama. Relish Portree. Relish Skye.

Food was good but service was pretty poor. Lucky we didn’t have a dairy intolerance as drinks order was wrong with no apology. Overall unwelcoming.

We opted for an early takeaway breakfast. Dinein and takeaway price difference is substantial. Both veg, non veg, and vegan options are available. Nice and efficient service. Also has place to sit and eat in a good ambiance.

We had a quick visit to get some light lunch. It is a small cafe with some good options and seating. The price is not too bad and food was tasty. We had some toasties, cakes and coffee. This little place had the best lemon cake that I have had so far!

We came here for a breakfast before a leisurely Sunday on Skye and we were not disappointed. The breakfast rolls were some of the best have had and the staff were friendly and attentive. Hope to come back here very soon

The food was very good, but the service was terrible. Although the place was empty and closing more than 1hs later, they only let us order to take away and did not allow us to eat standing inside the shop while it was pouring rain.

Absolutely stunning food, a little on the pricey side but everything is beautifully seasoned and cooked. Can't get better burgers and chips anywhere else! Only complaint is the upstairs seating is quite chilly. Though it's not something that can be helped in winter with how popular the store is, and how frequently people come in. Highly recommend the dirty fries - best ones I've ever had!

Nice cozy coffee shop that offers a variety of snacks and desserts.

I was quite displeased with the service, to be honest. It felt a bit unfair. Even though there were vacant tables, we were told they were all occupied and were only allowed takeaway. I also noticed that other Asian customers experienced the same issue. Moreover, local patrons were given the option to dine in or take out. It's my first time here, and in my four years in the UK, I've never encountered such a situation.

Also reading the reviews and them turning away emergency bathroom situations(especially for elderly patrons) makes me feel bad for supporting this business by buying a meal. I’ll defs go somewhere else if I’m ever back in Portree.

Terrible service. A waitress told my 70 year old dad (who was not feeling well) that he couldn't wait for the restroom upstairs when the queue had 1 person. She also told us we couldn't use the restroom if we were ordering take away food (??) which we were not. So rude, so we just left the place.

Stopped to get some sandwiches for a picnic further on in Skye. Food was amazing! But the main reason I’m writing this is to thank the gentleman behind the counter who, when I mentioned going up the road to the coop to get a plain ham sandwich for my youngest, happily sorted it for us. Customer service was great! Highly recommend!

Had some take away as the upstairs was closed and there were no table service. Staff was friendly but the order (sandwich) took 20 minutes .... also the choice was quite limited that day.

Differential pricing for takeaway and sit in. Service is quick and fantastic. Gets busy during summer/when a lot of tour buses are in Portree.

We just had a dreadful experience at relish. After waiting patiently for some time in the long line to get a table, we were told none were available tfor our party of 4, which is unfortunate, yet a table was given to a group after us for the same number of people. So we ordered food to take away, and after waiting we were handed a bag of boxes items. We checked the top one and it looked wrong, so we flagged it but the male member of staff rudely told us that we’d obviously ordered the wrong item and that it was our fault. We left the shop & headed out to eat, and upon opening the rest of the items, none of what we ordered was in any of the boxes! We checked our receipt and it was obvious we’d been handed the wrong order. We went back to swap it, and were again told it was our fault. Our correct order was then held ransom whilst the male member of staff continued to tell us all the reasons why it was our fault. We get that places get busy, and staff get orders mixed up, and it really wouldn’t have been a big issue to resolve, but to be so rudely bullied and blamed was so unnecessary. It was a shame as the food was good, but not so special enough to come with a dose of unprovoked rudeness.

I was hungry so I went in. The store is clean and has many young employees. Convenient parking is available at the nearby 2-pound public parking lot. We actually came here twice. The first time was for a quick dinner and my daughter got the chicken burger which was delicious. Then for breakfast the next day we got a breakfast muffin with egg and cheese and I guess they can’t scramble eggs, only fry them but we didn’t want it runny so they cooked it to death. It was still tasty but hard to customize. Also got a cranberry and brie sandwich to take away and it was really good but I didn’t love the focaccia. Some people love focaccia, I don’t love the spices on it. Not sure if it was rosemary and salt or what but it took away from it. But on different bread this sandwich was awesome. Would return again for sure.
