Great food and lovely service. Thankyou for 2 excellent breakfasts in succession. We shall come again next time we are in Leith

We stopped by Relish today for takeaway lunch. It was delicious- the Belhaven salmon salad with horseradish is the best salad I have ever had! My husband had the chicken, bacon and avocado salad with cesar which was also excellent. Great tasty and quick snack or lunch in Leith. Coffee great too. Will definitely be returning!

The cafes along the front were full so we sauntered over to Commercial Street and into Relish. Glad we did - we just wanted a light lunch, a nice cup of tea and a sit down after our long walk, and it was perfect - relaxed ambience, not noisy, roomy, light and airy - and fast service. Good variety of sandwich fillings as well.

I popped in here whilst waiting for a bus out of leith for a quick coffee. (I wish I hadn’t) The young girl who greeted me was lovely and friendly and the food looked and smelt nice. But it was the solid 4 minutes I had to endure, of the manger staring at me, that soured my visit. I mean it wasn’t a couple of glances in my direction, he was literally staring at me for a solid 4 minutes! I left feeling confused, like maybe I was somebody’s doppelgänger? As I’m not even from the area. I’m not sure if he does this to other customers, but when I left and told my partner, I found the whole situation confusing and it left me feeling slightly angry. Whole situation was really odd!

Stayed in Leith for 2 nights, called in here after we'd checked into our hotel, we both had decaf americanos which were very nice. Called in both days for breakfast, first morning we both had a bacon and egg bun which was large and tasty, second morning I had a large bowl of porridge with chopped apple and banana with a sprinkling of cinnamon. My husband had scrambled egg with bacon on sourdough which came with a side salad. Both nicely presented and again very tasty. We sat next to the heater so were toasty! Would call in again the next time we are in Leith.

I live on the Shore and used to visit often. Things were different in the pandemic but I had looked forward to it opening up. I have visited a few times recently but increasingly have not enjoyed it. Today the atmosphere is low and the male staff member in particular was sullen and uncommunicative. When the food arrived it was below par with the salad ingredients not being fresh. Probably will not be at the top of my recommendation list in future.

Sit in or takeaway offered. Ample, comfortable seating inside. Friendly service provided. I have visited this cafe twice now. It's made my Edinburgh & Leith cafes list for my custers in my job as a tour guide.

My wife and I live in Leith and Relish has become a part of our routine. Usually some sort of combo of soup, salad, a filled roll, scrambled egg (yummy bacon or salmon but definitely not avocado: eew). Soups vary: lentil, thai veg etc etc. Rolls or sourdough sandwiches with cold meats or seafood and salad ingredients. Nice coffee. Cold drinks by the can or glass. OK it's deli cafe food; it's not cordon bleu. But it's very handy, and it hits the spot. We can eat in, or go home and eat outside my house. Sunshine on Leith: it does happen.

My wife and I a popped into Leith Relish for lunch a couple of weeks ago. After finding a seat and looking at the menu we both decided to go for a baguette and soup. My baguette had a lovely filling of chicken creme fraiche and chill jam, my soup was pea and parmesan and it was outstanding. My wife also complemented on how enjoyable her soup and baguette was and it all came at a very reasonable price. Good social distancing was in place and the toilets were also spotless. To top it off the staff were nice and friendly too.

I was walking around and looking for a coffee shop and I found it into Google. The best coffee i have so far into Edinburgh. I'll be back and recommend this place as well.

Picked up a coffee and some soup here recently and was lovely! Coffee could do with being a touch stronger, but pleasant enough. The soup was perfect, served with fresh tasty bread. Will be back for more soon!

Small cafe . Fab coffee . Best croissant ever ! All staff lovely and chatty / Destination for brunch or light lunch . My kind of place ! Copies of the Scotsman . Central Leith on bus route 16 and 22 from town. Inexpensive. £5.70 for two coffees and a croissant .

Stopped in late afternoon for coffee. The staff are great. The food looks so fresh. Have note to self to call in for lunch when back in the area.

Lovely place to have a snack but sometimes it can be very busy and therefor very slow. Worth the wait tho.!

After a change of staff this place seems to be back to old ways, I’ve therefore deleted my previous review based on the service being awful for a while. New girls are lovely and I’m glad as the food was never an issue

We were stopping close by for a few days and we called in a couple of times for breakfast.The scrambled eggs were superb.We will be back when next in the area.

I often pop in for a coffee and a sugar fix. I like the raisin crunch. or maybe a breakfast or lunch. They do bacon rolls, and scrambled eggs with a range of extras. That also do nice salads. I especially like the crayfish but they have a board with lots of choice or you can mix&match.Over lunchtime they have a lot of passing trade or office workers, and that sometimes means they pick up filled rolls from the cold shelf, or people may order food freshly prepared. It also means that between 12 and 2 you can never be sure how busy the staff will be.So when I order my eggs and bacon, I read the paper and sip my americano. It usually doesn't take an excessive for the food to arrive, and you know the scrambled eggs were done on the spot.

Been here a couple of times now and always enjoyed the relaxed vibe and the straightforward and tasty food.

We came here to meet friends for lunch. We stayed for ages, drank lots of their free water from the fridge and had pretty nice lunches. The wholemeal bread with lunch was excellent, the veggies fresh, and dressings good. Their caramel shortcake was the best of many samples across the country, and their coffee was just great. I am always happy when there is good oat milk, and they were great at cappuccino - a bit of a litmus test for me. It's order at the counter then they bring your food, and can run a tab.

Have been to Relish 3 or 4 times now and always enjoy the experience. Coffee is delicious (I had 2 last time) and we enjoyed the pastries and flap jacks. Have had lunch once before as well and thought it was really good.

Work at an office nearby and Relish is my lunch time go to. Great selection of pre-made sandwiches or if you like to concoct one of your own then there are heaps of tasty fillers. Friendly staff, reasonable pricing, all round good time.

Unfortunately, I agree with previous comments, Since the move, I have found the staff less than friendly. There is never a welcome or a smile - it is as if you are bothering them. Was in Tuesday 1 May and the guy who served me was doing about 6 different things at once. My baguette was a roll - half the size it should have been and the bacon burnt to a crisp. There was 1 piece of lettuce and 2 slices of tomato. Used to enjoy it - but won't be back .

So we live near Relish and have used it quite often for lunch, coffees to take friends etc. The owner is friendly, and has run a great service. It recently moved along the road to new and bigger premises - even better.

Really cool vybe! And good options for vegans can make your own wraps and sandwiches!!! Kind staff and quick service !

Lovely cafe that does excellent sandwiches and soup, it was proper French onion soup when we were there and it was delicious. Really good coffee too. Nice staff and would highly recommend 😊

I've been going here for 9 years and love it. Now they've moved along the street to a bigger place it's definitely better, more space to relax and enjoy something quick fresh and always tasty. Very healthy portions and everything is freshly made in house.

We came here on a Sunday to find some refuge from the rain and to get some coffee. There is a big assortment of sandwiches and the staff is really helpful. Two lattes and two sandwiches later we were pleasantly surprised with how good the coffee was; the sandwiches were really fresh.

Very tasty sandwiches for lunch in the cafe area which adjoins the deli. Quality food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Recommended.

In a somewhat unprepossessing location, Relish serves great café food. Popped in a couple of times for their excellent coffee and had a relaxing lunch today in the new café area adjacent to the shop area. Delicious onion soup and a hummus wrap. Good service. To be recommended.

Popped in here yesterday for a sanny for my lunch and ended up in the place for 15 mins because i just couldnt make my mind up. The selection is excellent and staff are very friendly

I love this deil. I've been coming here almost every work day for over a year, and it's consistently great, with wonderful service, friendly staff and delicious food. They are incredibly patient with me, as I'm constantly taking many food orders back to the office. Our whole office loves relish, and we even order their food for client meetings.

The food in here is pretty tasty and the price reflects this. However the bald manager chap is alway very ignorant. I have withdrawn my custom before over his very unfriendly manner.Today was the last straw. The queues at lunchtime are usually large and I had been waiting a while. The girl in front was paying individually for each sandwich and beverage (I assume she was the office junior being sent for everyones lunch). I had the correct money and waited till he had finished the latest of several transactions and said. " Can I give you the money for this. He just totally blanked me as I wasn't there. The guy behind me shrugged when I turned round embarrased. There is no need for such rudness. I will not be back now. Please look out for this bald ignoramus when you are in the shop. The girls serving are very pleasant . But this man is something else.

We were visiting the Farmers Market and needed something warming. We had the Potato and Leek soup which was delicious. It was served with some awesome bread too. We also had a wrap which was reduced and that was totally scrummy. A lovely place with yummy food.

Crackin' place to pick up a cake, a sandwich or a snack for lunch. Great selection of fillings for sarnies and rolls etc NIce home baking too :-) There's also a seating area for coffee

Really good cafe for coffee and breakfast. Sandwiches are quite top-end, but proper quality ingredients. Great bread. Well worth a visit.

Easily overlooked if you don't know it is there Relish is a bit on an Aladdin's cave behind a non-descript frontage.

We have known this place since its start and it has got better and better! This is where to find out whats on around Leith and the food is great too. Callum is a good host, you'll always get a great welcome.

Lovely deli-cafe on Commercial Street in Leith. Excellent coffee, friendly staff, delicious food, and a shop with many wonderful well-curated treats that served me very well as gifts to bring home to my New York foodie friends from my trip to Edinburgh.

Some of the best sourdough bread we've found in Edinburgh. Hugh choice of sandwich fillings and recommended combinations. Yum!

Really tasty fresh and homemade deli food plus shop and wine.

Had fabulous soup and a wrap which was delicious. wrap was freshly made to order, and the lady who served us was so helpful and friendly, we will certainly be re-visiting. Also great selection of deli food and wine, could spend ages just browsing. Great value for money.
