Regional Thai Taste - Reigate in Reigate and Banstead

First time visiting with friends and had a great time! The food was fantastic, we each got a starter and curry for main plus wine and thoroughly enjoyed it all, price was reasonable too! Good service and super fast, nice atmosphere too. Will return again soon!

I used to enjoy this restaurant as their food was fresh and delicious. But recently we popped in to use the bar facilities only to be greeted by 5 large men who seemed to be Bouncers. This is the 1st time I’ve experienced this at this venue. Clearly the use of the space has changed into something akin to a night time bar / dance venue rather than a relaxing area for pre meal drinks . I have to say I felt quite intimidated and perturbed that they would need that level of security. It made me wonder what sort of quests they were entertaining late at night. I shall not be going back sadly . This is not what I expect from a restaurant.

Drove a hour and 20 minutes from ramsgate kent to check out this place, and wow phenomenal. The place looks amazing the food is just on point and the staff is hard working and friendly. ISABELLE who works there is an absolute diamond and deserves serious praise and definitely a raise for her hard work.

We had an impromptu dinner here last night and I'm afraid to say it wasn't the most fantastic experience. We were seated upstairs and left for some time before our drinks order was taken, with the family next to us (seated after us) greeted warmly and served drinks and prawn crackers straight away - it was as if we were invisible and most odd. The starters were disappointing, although the main course curries were very lovely. I think it's also worth noting that the girls loos really are not acceptable: absolutely tiny with tricky concertina doors, freezing cold and very dirty. Unfortunately, as with a lot of Reigate restaurants, badly behaved children whinged and tantrumed next to us - not the restaurant's fault per se but irritating nonetheless because of the acoustics. I'm not sure we would recommend or return.

I visited here on a Saturday evening with my wife and one of our friend's. My wife has been before and was impressed when she visits we last time. We had to share the restaurant with a large group of drunk lads who spent most of the evening shouting at each other. I know this isn't the restaurants fault but it wasn't ideal. The service here just seemed really disjointed and hectic. The restaurant was around two thirds full. We initially ordered our food and drinks. The starts came within a reasonable amount of time but still without the drinks. We asked another two times, until a waitress came back and the order had clearly been forgotten. Two bottles of beer eventually turned up and I had to go to the bar to get the pint I was still waiting on ... which did then eventually turn up later. The food on the whole wasn't bad, but we found a couple of hairs which was really off putting. My wife commented it was much better last visit. It doesn't seem like staff commit to a table it's just a free for all. All the staff seemed stressed and to be running around everywhere - the whole experience wasn't great, it felt like being in a fast food restaurant. To have a 10% service charged added seemed like a joke. There are two other Thai restaurants in Reigate, I'd swerve this place and go to one of those instead.

Excellent food!! Really tasty, comes nice and hot. Great service. The decor inside creates a great ambience. The prices have gone up since I went the previous year, but still well worth it.

I booked dinner here after coming here previously 3 times and never had a bad experience up until now. I booked this restaurant for my friend and I who hadn't seen each other in a long time and we wanted a nice evening to catch up. Upon arrival to the restaurant, the female waitresses looked down on us almost in disgust, we could not understand why as we did not dress or act inappropriately. It was just 2 women having a quiet catch up for dinner and not a rowdy group of of people causing a disturbance. We got served on dinner very quickly but it felt almost as if they wanted to rush us out. Once we ate dinner, we almost immediately got handed our receipt and did not even get offered a menu for dessert or even asked if we wanted any more drinks (we only had 1 drink and water each at dinner). I had reserved a table in the bar in the evening which we wanted to try out and purchase a bottle of champagne to celebrate my new job. But we decided to not bother given the way we got treated. I actually booked this restaurant as I review restaurants and bars for a well known Surrey magazine. I suggest the staff are trained on customer service and how to make guests welcomed as you never know who you could be serving and how this can go go against the reputation of the restaurant. Aside from this, the food as always was perfect and I have never had any complaint before about this restaurant, but it certainly has changed over the past year.

Food and service was very good. The staff were helpful, polite and attentive. The food was really nice. Downside was that as it’s on the main High Street, the motorbike traffic and emergency services were really loud and echoey. If you’re looking for a quiet place for an intimate meal, choose somewhere off the High Street.

Went for a birthday meal with my Husband. Really lovely restaurant upstairs with a bar area downstairs. Staff were attentive without being over the top and the food was to die for. Great choice, great flavours and some amazing cocktails Would definitely go back

This is the third time I have eaten at the restaurant. The staff are always professional and friendly. The salt and pepper squid, spare ribs and salt and pepper wings are my favourite starter's and for the main course its the duck tamarind and lamb shank with coconut rice. However there are many other tempting dishes that I plan to try on my next visit.

Amazing Food Great evening at the bar afterwards. Would definitely recommend people in reigate area try this place. They Have A Dj Called JM1 he is so awesome with the music he plays ill be going back again.

I have eaten here multiple times before and i find the service from the staff top notch. The food is on point i tried the lamb shank for the first time and was very tasty indeed. I highly recommend eating here again!

Visited this restaurant for the first time on a friend's recommendation. I chose my selection from the 3 course set lunch menu. I was surprised that my starter, 2 dimsums, arrived on the same plate as my main course Pad Thai. Although the flavours were good, it was a small portion served on a large plate and the food got cold very quickly. The garnish was elaborate, perhaps filling a space on the plate. The meal was however saved by the dessert, a delicious banana fritter.

We walked in with out a reservation after a short wait we were found a table by our very friendly host on reception. Service was friendly and the food was top quality and really tasty. We would definitely go again.

Haven't been there for a few years and won't be going back in a hurry. It appears to have gone from a restaurant to a restaurant / nightclub. Food, in my opinion, was okay but bland and not as good as a nearby similar establishment. We were crammed in the top area where there are far too many tables and diners. The waiters had to squeeze between the tables and the back of my chair was repeatedly knocked, very annoying. With so many diners in a small area the noise was uncomfortable with people speaking very loud just to be heard. At the end of the meal we were asked to go downstairs and use the lounge to finish our drinks. Never had that before, and we hadn't even been in there for two hours. We went downstairs to the 'lounge' but it was like a nightclub and not somewhere to sit and talk to friends due to the volume of the music. All in all not a great evening and I wish it had stayed as a restaurant. The need for two bouncers at the door shoes how the venue has changed.

Do not accept a table in the ‘lounge’ bar. I understand why it’s there - more money can be made by the owners from using this side room. But the ambience is poor, the tables feel makeshift and we were regularly forgotten about. Half of our food was wrong. My vegetarian partner got chicken instead of tofu, the rice was sticky rice not jasmine we asked for. The table next to us got the wrong orders too. Our drink order was taken. Then nothing happened for 15 minutes until someone else came. And asked us for our drinks order. When we were ready to order food I went to the bar after a while as the service was so bad. There simply wasn’t anyone around. The staff were nice but it all just seemed poorly managed. Rice came in a plastic bag. I have lived in Asia and eaten hundreds of times in Asian restaurants in the U.K. but this is the first time I had rice served in a plastic bag that I had to open. Come on. Even if you microwave your rice instead of steaming it at least open the bag before you serve it. It’s poor. The young guy who served it said ‘it’s sticky rice’, as if it always comes in a plastic wrap in Thailand. Perhaps he’s only ever seen it that way. The food was okay. Very Reigate. Cooked for commuting stockbroker families with Surrey taste buds. The wine was fine. All in all a funny place.

We originally planned to go to Giggling Squid but we thought we’d try here for a change.I had no idea what to expect as we walked up the little alley-way. I was so worried about what life was going to be like out again in one of the best thai restaurants I have visited in the UK. Visiting Reginal Thai Taste again I felt right at home the staff was welcoming the lounge and restaurant was COVID safe and the food was second to none.I can't wait to have more of my chill Mango Mai Tai and my Red chilli Curry.

We have eaten here several times over the years, always enjoyed the interesting menu and twice since the restaurant re-opened during COVID. After the last visit, mid September ,3 out of 6 of suffered with food poisoning the next morning.The food is okay, not as good as it was and the menu much reduced to a fairly standard Thai food menu.The service was terrible and has gone significantly downhill over my last two visits. It took 25 minutes to get any service at all to our bare table after being shown to our table (8pm booking) . There were only 5 tables of guests and 3 table staff. After having to leave the table (mask on) to request service it took another 25 minutes to be served drinks, only wine and beers and to then place a food order. The guy serving our table was polite enough and apologised several time for the delays but clearly has had no training.The worst experience was going downstairs to the lounge bar for a drink before we left. The barman was clearly not happy to have late arrivals and was more interested in talking to other staff. The table we were shown to hadn't been cleaned let alone disinfected for COVID. When we asked for it to be wiped it was done with a bar cloth and no disinfectant. Our drinks arrived, my gin and tonic without any lime which I requested.. This was delivered to me, having walked around the bar to our table, by hand, literally in his and offered to me from his open hand. Call me old fashioned, I know the same hands would have cut it but it just smacked of disinterest and a lack care. A small plate maybe, in a glass ...As a metaphor it summed up our experience. A shame but we won't be going back.

Had previously eaten here and had a fabulous meal. The food was borderline edible was red thai curry like a bowl of sugar, satay was an advert for beige no garnish colour or usual good dip. very expensive complained and waiter blamed on no staff due to Covid and too many takeouts. The slowness i cld accept but If unable to deliver food to reasonably good standard don’t charge. Using redundancy money for special night this is not an acceptable response. Would take a lot to persuade me to go back.

The food was as lovely as ever but unfortunately whilst I explained my gluten free requirements as a Coeliac, and was assured my meal would be prepared separately and safely, I was very unwell after eating here. Really disappointing as this was an anniversary meal and had always been our favourite restaurant to go to for special occasions.

Have been going to this restaurant for a few years and the food is great but the space is awful .The restaurant used to be on two floors but is now on only one floor as the ground floor has been converted into a bar and they have put a lot more tables in the dining area ... too many !!We took some friends for a meal any apart from the food it was an unpleasant experience .As usual it was packed but the tables are so close together the waiters had problems getting past us and we repeatedly had to pull our chairs in and at one point the poor waiter nearly dropped a whole plate of food on me due to the lack of room. We could barely put all our food on the table as it wasn't big enough and the noise was so loud the four of us were shouting at each other to make ourselves heard. On leaving we told our waiter about all of this and he said they had the same complaints all the time but the Owners weren't bothered and had no intention on doing anything to rectify the problems as they were always busySuch a shame as used to be our favourite restaurant but haven't been since and won't be going again . There are new and many more excellent restaurants in Reigate to be able to give this one a miss now

Nothing short of a fantastic night!We hired the downstairs bar area for the evening.Jade (manager) organises everything and gives really good advice for a fun, smooth running night.The bar staff were superb, massive kudos to Vas and his team who kept those drinks coming and were super polite to my guests. A fantastic venue with delicious food!

We went on a weekday but the restaurant was still comfortably patronised. The room was pleasantly decorated and much more importantly had soft furnishings which moderated the noise emanating from other diners. The service was excellent and the food was very good . I don't like chilli and I asked for it to be excluded in all the dishes that I chose. No problem. Reasonable prices for both food and wine. Five star rating and we will be going again

The restaurant was very busy and therefore great atmosphere. Food was lovely and plentiful- good portion sizes. The staff were very good even though they were very busy they were very accommodating and the length of time the food took wasn't too bad! Nice bar/lounge area downstairs too which was a nice area to finish off in too!

Always love this restaurant. Friendly staff, great tasting food and reasonably priced. An all round great experience. Great vegetarians but vegans be warned... they use shrimp paste in a lot of their food so make sure you check before ordering.

We booked here for a family member’s 30th birthday. It was a Saturday evening so very busy , and we were a table of 10, but we didn’t feel that we were left waiting for drinks or our food. We had mixed starters between us all which was very tasty and plenty for all of us. My main was very spicy but very edible, the only thing I would say was that I could smell the chilli on my own breath in the cab on the way home! I felt a bit sorry for the cab driver!!!

We booked a table earlier in week to be told there was one table at 18.15. So we arrived 15 minutes early. At 1900 food still hadn’t arrived and the red wine was cold. Only to be told we arrived when they were busy, even though we were one of them first tables and the wine was cold because it was delivered today. Basically they are incompetent, they had too many tables booked with not enough tables experienced staff to look after their customers.

Regional Thai Taste is a favourite restaurant of ours in Reigate. Set off the Main Street down an alley at Boots, it’s a very cosy setting to dine.

We hired out 'The Downstairs Lounge' cocktail bar for my wife's 40th birthday celebrations at Regional Thai, for approximately 70 guests, with exclusive use of the bar.

You would hardly know this place existed - its down an alley (well lit and safe). The restaurant itself is very authentic with its decoration. I have been to Thailand and they have done a good job reproducing the atmosphere.

I’ve been coming to regional Thai for several years, I previously lived close however now I regularly make the round trip of an hour to eat here!

For the first I been to this restaurant few months ago for my friend's party with my wife. Food was delicious and friendly staff .So last night we turned up without booking, big mistake but they were very accommodating and managed to fit us in even though it was super busy . AMAZING Food, amazing and friendly staff who were very helpful and polite. The old building decor is die for especially lounge area where we had pre drinks before our meal.This is the best Thai food in the area.We will be back soon.

I’ve been to the restaurant at least 10 times. The service this evening was appalling. Firstly they did not have our booking, then we waited over an hour for the starters to appear and only some of the dishes arrived.

We got a takeaway and I must say this is the worse Thai restaurant in Reigate - I went to giggling squid recently which I thought was the worst place before getting a takeaway from here.

Stunning building and a warm welcome. Fantastic food and help accommodating a gluten free diner. I’d score 5 for this - the reason I scored a 4 is that some of the crockery is a bit ‘tired’ and grubby and could do with being updated to match the quality of everything else.

Had not been to this restaurant and am sorry to say I won’t be returning. Food was a big disappointment. Starters were poor- fish cakes made with too much flour and so were a bit tough. Duck spring rolls were pretty tasteless- indeed I would not have known it was duck!

An amazing experience with 3 friends on a Saturday night - having all been to Thailand, we all agreed this was the most authentic Thai food we’ve ever had in the UK! The service was excellent and we will definitely be visiting again in the very near future. If you like Thai food, this place is a must visit!

We just returned from a lovely meal. Amazing service. Cool bar area to wait for our table. Lovely selection of drinks. Quality cocktail. Food lovely. Especially my wife’s giant prawn curry. Speedy attentive service. Worth every penny. Will definitely return.

Went out with 8 friends last night. They forgot two mains the mixed starter was tasteless. I had a couple of bits of starter half a Pad Thai as they forgot mine and two beers. £30 for that. Won't be rushing back.
