Thai Cottage in Reigate and Banstead

Decided to book a table tonight for me and my wife. Had been before as part of a big family booking and food always lovely. This evening, we thought we would come here instead of our usually more local Thai restaurant in Reigate. It was well worth the extra few miles. The food is superb, and the service is excellent. Great, authentic menu. I could eat this food every night. Delicious.

We always order take away from here - very nice freshly cooked food. They know how customer service should be done - from taking the order, giving the correct time to arrive and the delivery driver is also pleasant.

Wow this place is totally amazing, fabulous atmosphere and out of this world traditional home cooked family Thai food . Would recommend this place to everyone and really can't wait to go back there for a sit down meal but I also believe they do takeaway and local deliveries. Get down and enjoy it as much as I did .love this place 💖

Delicious, fresh and tasty dishes . Friendly service . Excellent value . Can’t understand why it wasn’t busy on a Saturday eve when it is so much better than other local restaurants . Will be back very soon . Particularly loved the red Thai curry . Other half loved the chicken and cashew and the noodles .

With a warm and cosy atmosphere Thai Cottage is a perfect place for a meal out as a couple, family or friends. The menu offers a large choice of different dishes and food the is delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Thai Cottage and will be visiting again soon.

Belatedly but nonetheless sincerely, we had a thoroughly enjoyable get-together with very good friends just before Christmas and the consensus of all was a takeaway from this restaurant: as ever, the subtle but powerful Thai flavours shone through what we had and the only downside was that we didn’t order enough to enjoy the following day.

My brother and I have been getting takeaways from Thai Cottage most weeks during lockdown. The meals are of a consistently high quality and the service is always very good. Highly recommended!

I’ve eaten here several times now with my family and each time the food and service have been excellent. I tried a takeaway on Saturday night which again did not disappoint. The food here is consistently good and it’s great to see a business taking pride in both their food and service. Well done to the owners.

This is the third time we been eating their delicious Thai food. Nice and very welcoming staff on the both occasions we ate in and super impressed by how well wrapped the take away food was. We live over 30 min away and food was still piping hot. Whole family loves the food and if it was up to grandad and our teenager it would be a weekly visit. See you soon.

Despite the few negative reviews about this restaurant over the months, we have always believed that this is the closest to the wonderful food we have tasted on our trips to Thailand over the years, We ordered a takeaway last night to share with friends, and it was as good as ever, so are delighted that their standards have not fallen.

We are new local residence and excited to try a local restaurant to support the local area. So gutted to have such a poor takeaway meal- basic Thai recipes we order lacked completely in flavour. Pad Thai was tasteless, had no lime or peanuts included. If you enjoy flavour in your food go elsewhere and save your £30. Honestly the worse Thai food we have ever had. We aren’t fussy clients and didn’t order anything complex. What a shame

Apologised to me about the hour wait for food, but rang me to let me know they would have my food ready sooner than they thought. Excellent food and fairly priced. The food was massivley over priced , Everything tasted of fish , even the green chicken currey, The chicken in the dishes was catering meat not freshley prepared, massive dissapointnment and the tom yum soup was just like water !!!! I go to local chinese in Epsom and get lovley food for 2 peopel about £25, how come I have paid £50 for food that was awful, I could have bought a bettermeal frozen in Asda

Just popped in for a chicken pad Thai, speed of delivery was good but separation of the flavours was hard and so was a little bland.

Ordered a takeaway from here this evening. Have ordered before and have been to the restaurant; both times we were impressed. On this occasion, it was very different. Squid was something like an Iceland special; clearly frozen with very little squid in them. Not sure what was tempura about the batter either.. The Thai Red curry, which we asked for made a little milder, was chicken sitting in a bland coconut milk sauce, and arrived looking and tasting as far away from a red curry as you could imagine. A really disappointing meal from what I thought was an authentic Thai establishment. Will not be returning or recommending. The sticky rice was nice. Sad when the rice is the highlight.

One of my local restaurants but had not visited for more than 20 years until recently. First impressions are important and regretably there was no warm welcome, rather just being shown the table we had reserve some weeks previously. Also there was a distinct damp smell as we entered. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived but about 6 tables were occupied later on. For a Thai restaurant we found the food expensive. In other local Thai restaurants, prawn crackers are given free of charge whereas here a bowl costs £3.50. All this said, when the food did arrive it was tasty so I cannot fault the chef except for saying the portions were smaller than we expected. Our bill for 5 was £180. The service was just OK but a little hit and miss with 2 people sharing responsibility for all tables Overall if you are a foodie who likes a quiet place lacking atmosphere, you may well enjoy the culinary element but regretably for me I will not be rushing back

Our local Thai restaurant and it’s always fantastic. We never veer too far from the red or green curries and there is always a raging debate as to which is hotter. Highly recommended for a Friday night takeaway but the restaurant itself is always very busy.

Had a craving for some noodles for a while so we headed to Thai Cottage for dinner one weekday evening, having enjoyed a meal at Thai Cottage previously,The restuarant is quaint and unassuming, with a cosy atmosphere. It's a small restuarant where the owners offer friendly and intimate service. The restuarant was very quiet when we came. We ordered some starters to share and a couple of noodle dishes. Very tasty indeed but would recommend going for pork over chicken as the pork based noodles had much more flavour than the chicken. Prices are very reasonable.Definitely worth a look in if you are nearby. Looking forward to coming back soon or grabbing a takeaway.

Great restaurant superb food, busy but efficient well worth a try

This is a small family-run restaurant in the middle of Tadworth with a pleasant atmosphere. The food is well cooked and I enjoyed my chicken satay and green curry. Good service and good value for money for the area.

Varied menu with authentic food. In what must be a first, all the dishes were polished off leaving nothing for takeaway. Highly recommended for the fantastic experience!

Having been told by a couple of friends that it is the best Thai in the area I thought it was time to try. Booked 8:00 pm on a Friday evening I was surprised only two other couples and then a larger party arrived after us There was a good menu although to me wines were expensive. Started with deep fried fish cakes with chilli sauce. Four small fish cakes that were tasteless and tired and not freshly fried. Main course was mixed fish which did have tasty mussels a good mix of fish, scallops prawns etc and a tasty sauce my partner had chicken and noodles which was rather bland and unattractive we chose steamed Thai jasmine rice which arrived as one lump and tasted plain. Including a bottle of house white the bill was over £60:00 and although the service was polite we don’t think it is as good as the Giggling Squid in Reigate

A real hidden gem family owned and run. Genuine Thai coking but limited seating so booking essential at peak times. Not the cheapest but quality of the food makes up for it. All your favourites cooked and served in a typical Thai pleasant manner

I have lived in Epsom for some years but had not tried the Thai Cottage in Tadworth before but decided to go with a couple of my friends last week and what a fabulous find. The food was excellent - all cooked to perfection, fantastic flavours and the service was both friendly and professional. An excellent ambiance, very busy on a Saturday night so recommend booking. I cannot praise this restaurant enough for a very special evening and one which I intend to repeat soon. Having tried a few Thai restaurants in the area the Thai Cottage has got to be my number 1 favourite.

One of the best Thai restaurants I have been to in all my travels around the world. Thai is my favouritest food. The food here was great with a lovely cosy ambience; the name suits! Very friendly service. The restaurant was busy which indicates its popularity.

We discovered this restaurant few months ago. We drive to eat there from Cheam and often get take aways. Lovely cosy restaurant with great hospitality from family running it and most importantly fantastic food!

Dirty Cutlery on the table. The food was not authentic. I have used the same green curry already made paste from Chinese supermarket.

Cosy dining, family business, easy to park nearby. Food was prepared quickly and tasted great, plenty of classic Thai flavour and my duck curry was luxurious and extra spicy just like I wanted. Well worth a trip if you're nearby.

I had expected a delicious meal at this Thai restaurant based on the other reviews on Google, but what I ate was far from satisfactory. Was it an off day? The Tofu was soggy and saturated with what I can only describe as a bland unknown sauce, lacking in the usually delightful acute fragrant spices one associates with Thai cuisine. Not a sprig of coriander in sight. No hint of Thai Basil. No beautifully crafted carrot rosettes. To enjoy the food at this restaurant you must have eaten over boiled potatoes your entire life and enjoyed them. Additionally you smoke 80 cigarettes a day and have one shrivelled taste bud screaming for pure salt. The two stars were given for the level of service, which was excellent. I won't be going back.

A belated review of this lovely local restaurant: everyone there is very accommodating to different tastes/allergies and the dishes we had including starters were excellent. We will definitely return.

My friend and I went to the Thai cottage on Friday 5th May as we decided to eat out after meeting up and we fancied a Thai. There’s a Thai restaurant just down the road from where I live but it’s not great so we searched for somewhere decent and this place came up.

What a wonderful find. Food was exquisite and great wine too. Will definitely be returning. Very reasonably priced too.

It was a warm spring eve and romance was in the air.We had drinks like apero nearby and went right in the matter of having a great relaxing romantic moment right there. Living the moment like the roman used to say; carpe diem it was.I love thai resto , it reminds me of my sister , who s gone now , she usecd to take me to the famous fulham broadway bl elpht.Back in this lovely intime restaurant in tadworth , the food is very tasty not too spicy and the wines like sancerre is grest with it , and also a white wine from Chang Mai made by my french friend from Shepherds bush laurent mdg.A superb eve we had and we ll be back very soon.

Now what's the last thing you expect to find driving around the Surrey countryside? yep you guessed it - an authentic Thai restaurant concealed in tiny English cottage. There is absolutely nothing outside this place that would entice you in unless you happen to know what awaits you - we went at the invite of friends who knew the place - I must say the food was lovely - very close to the authentic stuff and far better than you will find is a lot of other places that claim to be Thai - the restaurant seems to be a husband & wife job and they take pride in getting stuff right - everything seems to be cooked to order and fresh so you might end up waiting for some dishes but well worth the wait - The menu is catered for the unadventurous English palate but dont let that put you off - the food is very nice. It does sway too much toward the sweet toothed rather than the spicy which I prefer but you can just order a side of green chillies and that will fill in the void. Would certainly go again - my only gripe is that the prices are just a tad to the upper end of the costs to table ratio - but then again they are marketing to a select clientele and not mass sales and they do need to earn the rent so I won't hold that against them. Not quite a 5 star place but well worth the 4 stars I have given them and the fifth star would be for convenience of the locals who can get good food without travelling far

Simply put - the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. After visiting Thailand several times; I've yearned for food of the same standard. This hits the spot and my other half whose half Thai also agreed. We live in London and this Thai food is better than all of the restaurants we've tried here. We will be back!

Small and cozy little restaurant with delicious food. We ordered steamed ginger seabass that was excellent. It took a while for it to be served, but it was worth it. We were the only two dining in that night so we had the place privately to ourselves - it was a Wednesday night afterall. I do feel like the 10% service charge on the bill is probably not such a great idea, especially for small parties like us - I would've tipped the waitress regardless but having it on the bill makes it feel less voluntary. Still it is a nice little Thai restaurant and if work brings me here again I will definitely return.

We ate at this restaurant on a Saturday evening with friends. The restaurant was fairly busy, but not full.We opted for the fixed menu (minimum 4 persons). All food was good, and well cooked, and at circa £23 per person, we felt this was an excellent meal for the price.However the interior decor is dated, and a little drab. This sadly resulted in the 'average' rating overall.

If you happen to live around Epsom and the surrounding area, visit the Thai Cottage for a genuinely friendly welcome and stunning food. We've been eating there for over 15 years and have enjoyed every dinner. The restaurant is very small - hence 'cottage'! - so make sure to book. Drop ins are always welcomed too if they can possibly accommodate you. The classic Pad Thai is delicious as is pretty much everything else on the menu. If you are worried about chilli strength, mention it to the family and they will tone things down for you.

Nice local Thai restaurant. Good always tasty , my favourite being the phad Thai noodles and massaman curry. Only seats about 30 , quiet inside so not for a large gathering , more a quiet couples meal. Sometimes lacks atmosphere ie very quiet atmosphere wise. Decent food none the less

This is a great little Thai restaurant, situated just by the station for easy access if you decide to take advantage of their pretty decent wine list. The food is always excellent and the staff are very friendly. It is perhaps a little on the pricey side but it is rural Surrey and to be honest it is one of the consistently best Thai restaurants that I have eaten in (and there have been many!). Recommended.

Three of us ate here and the food was very good. Portion sizes were quite big and service was quick. Thought adding a 10% service charge was naughty, especially when there was only three of us. We didn't pay it of course, and the woman had the cheek to come back with the bill and ask why???

The food here is always consistently great. We sometimes dine in the restaurant, which is small but perfectly formed, but usually have a regular Friday night takeaway. We love spicy, flavourful food and this place never disappoints.

This use to be one of my favourite restaurants locally, but unfortunately was so disappointed with the meal this time, will not be going back. Wine was nicely chilled and good but the food was awful. What a shame they have dropped the quality of food. I know times are hard for small businesses but you can't serve rubbish.

We had been getting fed up with low quality food, so checked on TripAdvisor and this one came up; the brilliant reviews are accurate. Freshly cooked, delicious - real Thai food by real Thai people! Very pleasant atmosphere, excellent waiting service and good food. Shared a selection of starters and mains, the highlights of which were probably the dumplings and the Pad Kra-Prao (prawns and squid with chilli, garlic etc). I'm not local but would return if visiting the area.

So I have had some recent Thai street food down in Swansea and a few other places. All were absolutely fantastic and we thought we had eaten our best Thai yet! However, for a special celebration we opted for a takeaway from Thai Cottage and the quality and taste has far surpassed anything we have eaten recently. It was fantastic. There are no negatives. Everything we ordered was superb and I can't wait to go back for more. The reviews are spot on. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. In fact we are thinking of going back, but eating in the restaurant next time. Don't hesitate, just place an order.....

People told me this was on par with some off the best restaurants in london , this was not on par it blew them out of the water , the service very good , atmosphere very quaint and friendly served in timely manner and the food was the best i have eaten for a very long time, they cope with a unexpected delivery of flowers for me to give to my wife..SO BIG THANK YOU...so if you want a friendly romantic restaurant that is reasonably priced and want to woo your partner take them here and you wont regret it

If you're looking for authentic Thai food in Tadworth with good service then go here, you will not be disappointed! You may have to wait a bit longer for food when it gets busy but trust me it's worth waiting for. They also offered us prawn crackers while we waited. the only downside be it small was that you could only order the house white wine by the glass, all the other types were by the bottle but it tasted fine and was easy to drink. All I can say is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
