My go to Chinese restaurant, it never disappoints!

Highly recommend. From the service, food and ambience everything was amazing. Extremely friendly and professional service. Staff were very attentive and always around checking everything was ok. Quality of food was really good. Definitely one of the.best I've tried for a long time. Its not on the cheaper side but you really get what you pay for.

Totally excellent day celebrating Chinese New Year.

3 of us have met here every couple of months as it a good location for travelling. One reason was that the food was excellent, the service great and the prices very reasonable. However, we have noticed over our last 2 visits that things have changed slightly. The food isn’t as excellent as it used to be, the service has become intrusive, ie clearing plates while still eating and the food arriving at different intervals for the same course. One dish arrived around 10 minutes after the others, something that had never happened before. Also the cost. The other night it was £47 per head and for a run of the mill Chinese that really is over the top. No alcohol just a soft drink each and a coffee at the end. Sadly we have decided that enough is enough and we will find probably an Indian nearby to try. For many years we would have given it 5 stars but not any more.

Nice staff, food was good, portion size a lot bigger than I was expecting ! My only negative was the restaurant was a little cold.

If you're looking for AMAZING Chinese food, come to Regency. The food is so good we only ever come here now to eat Chinese food. Fresh, tasty and good portion sizes. They have become increasingly expensive over the years but that can't stop us as the food is worth every single penny.

Once again very disappointing on our anniversary,we had a takeaway two weeks ago and we were very disappointed with it,decided to give it another chance as we often went there and thought it might be a once off,chicken very chewey,brought this to the attention of the manager and tried to tell me that it was fine and wanted to charge me for the rice after discounting the curry,will not be back

A group of us bioked and had various set nenus to share TBH i thought sll l the ge dishes were very average and some not good at all All our table of tge same opinion House wine was awful

Good selection of food. Nice crowd. Reasonable prices. Found it easy to park outside in the evening

Don’t bother ordering past 10pm, they advertise that they are open till 11:00 but close earlier. Disappointing!

Me and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was fantastic! The food was brilliant. It was so tasty. We ordered from the set menu and the price was very reasonable considering the amount of food we had! Starters - The starters were great. We had prawn toast, satay chicken, ribs and sea weed with a continuous amount of prawn crackers. The starters were absolutely lovely. Mains - The mains were brilliant. We had approximately 6 dishes and that filled us up nicely! Duck - The duck was absolutely lovely. There was so much of it! A great amount of pancakes to go with it and the sauce was lovely too. Dessert- We chose the lemon sorbet. No words needed. So refreshing and full of flavour. Perfect dessert to refresh the pallet. Drinks - The drinks were reasonably priced. We didn't order alcohol. We ordered some cokes and a bottle of water. Seating - One half of the restaurant was very busy, but the other half was nice and calm. We asked if we could sit in the quieter side and it was no problem at all so we sat on the quiet side. Service - The staff were brilliant. Very attentive and very friendly. We definitely recommend this place. We will be going again for sure!

Service excellent, good portion sizes of all food but expensive. The Pak choi was under cooked, the waiter reluctantly sent it back. Crispy chilli beef was a good choice. Unfortunately, because of the price and noisy ambience we will not be returning.

Lovely family meal booked to celebrate our sons birthdays. The cooking was lovely and the staff really attentive . We were ordering some portions of soft shell crab but the waiter suggested we tried the fresh whole lobster from that morning cooked in same spices and shared between the crab eaters. A bit cheaper and they all enjoyed. All the rest of the food was also really tasty and we had a great birthday lunch

Plates were too small so food spilled, duck fried rice had too much fat not enough meat, order a shandy no enough lenonade so had to order a separate lenonade.

Had a delivery from here last night! First time in about 3 yrs. The food was so good that I had to post about it! Every dish was tasty and cooked so well!

Food is very good! Love the shredded pork belly fried rice, tempura prawns, shredded chicken chow mein is nice and spicy too but was a bit charred 1/3 times I got this(they replaced immediately we mentioned). Service was amazing and staff was very welcoming and attentive. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Great Chinese Spot everything I had was perfectly cooked. I most enjoyed the Cantonese Char Siu in the Chef specials sections the best bit of meat,I ever had but everything else looked lovely. Would reccomend visiting!!

Rated 2 1. Food quality is poor compared to many others tried and test in North London and Herts. 2. Prices are alarming in light of the quality. 3. Booking a table is near impossible as phone lines constantly ring.

Had takeaway it's fairly expensive compared to other local Chinese restaurants but good quality food

We had not been to Regency for a couple of years, and over the years, this has always been a family favourite. However, we were a bit disappointed. It used to be a place where the food was slightly different, and quite 'chef-y'..., and service was warm and professional. The food was OK.. hors d'oevre were good.. very tasty... but the duck with pancakes came already shredded. That seemed to us to be rather a shame, as the theatre of the shredding, as well as the effect on flavour and crispness is superior. Some of the food was just like any other slightly cheaper Chinese restaurant, and I must say it was quite expensive. Not sure we will go back.

We went to the Buffet, the food was ok but where ever you go people cook food differently. Parking was ok, we was lucky to get a spot out side. The staff were lovely who served us. I went with my daughter she’s only 1.5 years old so she will only eat crackers and maybe some noddles. They charged us £16 for her which I think is disgusting. We have been to quite a few buffets and never been charged for the baby. They also don’t have baby changing facilities, I had to change her on a chair. I think this restaurant is more for couples or the older couple, not a young family with children. I would recommend but I wouldn’t go with children.

We were working in a new area so looked on here to find a Chinese and this one popped up so off we went. We had trouble with the postcode but eventually stopped and asked and they pointed us in the right direction. Sat at our table and was served by a knowledgeable lady who advised us. Food outstanding lovely friendly staff and for a Monday night quite busy.

Had a take away last night from here for the first time and we ordered a mix of everything, food was generally good but the half duck was pre shredded and was very dry and tasteless it should come as a whole duck.

We’ve been going here for 20 years, beautiful food but today was very disappointed on Mother’s Day, my 89 year old mum wanted a coffee and we were rushed out due to slow service causing us to still be there whilst the next table had arrived.

A little quick trying to take your plate away ....sadly and small portions ..

The last time I went to Chinese restaurant was well over 20 years But this was so good the food was freshly cooked, the special fried rice was yummy, the ribs , the chicken curry very nice , I would recommend this restaurant to anyone I went for the £30 each as much as you like The good thing is there bring out 5 dishes at the time , so you don’t waste food

İn Pottersbar is the best Chinese restaurant, we are eating in this restaurant many years, we had prawn, singapur fried Noodles, sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein , half Crisby Aromatic Duck, chicken lettuce wrap, 1 bottle of proseco and 2 soft drink , food was excellent and delicious, and bill was reasonable for four people including service charge 122 pound. I recommend everyone living around this area.

Overpriced mediocre food, not worth the money, small portions. At least the service was fast.

They provided candles for keeping the temperature of foods. And the Chinese waitress provided excellent service for us. Although the price is a bit high the service is great. We will definitely come again!

I've lived very close to this restaurant for over 20 years, and embraced their higher prices previously because the food quality used to match them. Last 3-4 takeaways have been a disappointment - pork triple-cooked, tough and certainly not fresh. Dumplings undercooked, meat slightly raw. Not confident in the freshness of the food anymore so have decided to get my meals from elsewhere locally. Such a shame.

Went in for a Chinese came out with a pneumonia! Was sat at a table under the air conditioning which was so cold wasn’t sure if we were actually in the car park or not… My hands turning purple and friend putting her coat on weren’t enough of a hint, had to ask for it to be switched off before they turned us into ice cubes and served us up with a glass of coke. Food was bland, nothing special, ordered ‘Ho Fun noodles’ they were absolutely NO FUN whatsoever. Think the waitress must of thought I had asked for a plate of ginger and the noodles/beef on the side?!!? Waitress was rude and in such a hurry not sure if she was on speed +\- adhd. Final nail in the coffin - Was sitting minding my own business holding my fork, chewing my no fun noodles and she took my plate away from under my nose! Swiped it clean away!…..from this point on guarded all food and drink so she wouldn’t try to take them away! Need the loo but was scared to go to the toilet incase she ran in after me tried to wipe my a*se for me to get me out of there any quicker. Asked for the salt and got given a fork. Won’t be going back, cheers then!!

Fantastic night for a works Christmas meal. Entertainment and atmosphere were buzzing and the food was tasty and plentiful. Will definitely go back with friends for a meal. Efficient, friendly and clean....thank you for a great night :-)

Beautiful food, immediately came out nice and hot and provided food heaters as-well. Absolutely wonderful staff that are so heart warming and kind talkative and engaging. Nice warm atmosphere and perfect decorations and lights overall great restaurant and will definitely be seeing me again.

A Friday night meal was pretty average, Iv had much better meals here in the past. Had to ask for sauces soy sauce, sweet chilli and plum sauce which should come with the starters. The very dry chicken starter needed something.

First visit and had been looking forward to it given reviews and a quick peek inside. Had 4 dishes. 2 were fine (although rice and noodles are hard to mess up). 1 was very small , hardly any prawns and burnt , and like other reviews, one was bitter (pork) and didn’t smell right. Clearly recooked and reused in a dish that had plenty of sauce to cover. Did not touch for fear of upset. And at £10-£12 for main dishes this is overpriced to local comparison. So disappointing and worth being wary what you are served. The good front of house service now appears a distraction to “I’ll do it my way” manager.

Got recommended by a friend and the food was amazing The staff are always so nice, I got the set menu and told them that I do not eat pork. They happily swapped everything and a lovely lady came over and checked every single time to make sure that no more was used We taken away and it still so go!

Tiny portions, expensive and the manager picks and chooses who can take leftover food as a takeaway or not. He said he would rather throw the food away than give the one dish left over as a takeaway and then laughed. They automatically add service charge at the end too. There are better all you can eat places. Avoid.

Amazing meal at Regency. The honey and black pepper wings were amazing, as was the aromatic crispy duck. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend.

The food poisoning that followed this meal was dreadful, I’ve had to leave my own business today to go home. Honestly awful.

Another great meal here, table for 5 people no started but lots of mains and took some good home, £125. Cleanest Chinese not drowning in sauce, very enjoyable

I have been here before and the food has always been value for money, when I attended today the food was of the same level but the price had increased some 30-40% from my last visit. Main dishes were around the £15 mark and nearly £4 for a can of coke after service is pretty pricey in my book. 3 adults and two young kids and the bill was nearly £90 with no alcohol. Also families with young kids be aware there are no baby changing facilities on site.

Had a fabulous meal here at the Regency. I’ve been multiple times and this restaurant never disappoints. Impeccable customer service and the food is the absolute best! Even made the meal extra special for my Mum as it was her birthday 🎉

Realy attentive freindly staff and the food is of a very high standard we had the buffet menu which you choose and its freshly cooked and bought to you. All the dishes were realy nice. Keep up the great work. My new regular eating place .

1hr waiting for a lemon chicken

Food is good however its a really expensive Few starters on a plate .. 2 spare ribs ...2 spring rolls..2 chicken satay and some seaweed £20 1 rice 1 noddle dish and 2 chicken dish paid £70 Really pricey Wouldn't rush ti go back .

How refreshing to be met in a restaurant by the owner, all the staff were very pleasant. Very quick to take a drink order and given some prawn crackers, nice touch. Whilst eating the duck the staff asked if we wanted some more cucumber and onion, which was very good, the food was pipping hot and very good, this is the best Chinese restaurant in the local area by far and service is very very good. Highly recommend a visit if you want quality food and service , will definitely becoming back

One of my family’s regular Chinese food place. We love our weekly family meals here and food has always been amazing especially the crispy duck. This restaurant is highly recommended

Super expensive and awful food. We all feel sick afterwards :( I wasn’t sure if we should eat there the first moment we walked in. Jasmin tea served in a dirty tea pot and on a plate which has never seen a dishwasher. Service charge for next to no service. Would certainly not ever eat there again, under any circumstances.

The place was freezing cold, the staff were very rude, China red our usual go to for a good Chinese was closed and as so many people had mentioned regency was ok we thought we would try it but certainly wouldn’t return, food literally thrown at you and took forever even tho there was only 2 tables in, we were so cold we kept our coats on and the place looked dirty and tired

Since moving from Potters Bar to Goffs Oak, about 6 miles away, some 40 years ago, and having an excellent local Chinese, we only met a friend here, being halfway between properties. Very pleased with the evening as was our long-standing friend and guest. Very attentive staff and a fair ambience in this busy restaurant. No criticism of the food, other than an acknowledgement that whilst very freshly prepared and very acceptable, geared to an English taste.. very nicely prepared an tasty. Would certainly eat there again.. all reasonably priced and well run establishment.. only change I would expect is freshly steamed towels, following the meal, rather than Plastic microwave warmed offerings!

My friends and I keep coming back here as the food is delicious, especially the lobster in ginger and spring onion on top of crispy noodles. The staff are kind, polite and always helpful. Thank you Regency for always being there for us: before, during and after Covid. We love you!

The food was warm and not hot. My first visit to this restaurant was before lockdown, and unfortunately, there was a big difference between my first and second visits. On my first visit, I was very impressed. My second visit was disappointing.

Staff member who showed us to the table was very unfriendly and abrupt. We had hardly sat down before we were asked what we wanted for drinks and starters. The food was ok but not wonderful. I felt rushed as though they wanted us out as soon as possible It's expensive for what we got Would not go there again

Visited recently for the first time with family. Overall, everybody enjoyed the food. The staff were very friendly but maybe a little slow in clearing away the courses but it didnt cause a problem. The typical chinese hors d`ouevres were absolutely fine as was the crispy duck. However, personally i found the mains of which i tried a couple were a little tasteless especially as i had chosen a main that should have really had a bit more spice to it. But overall, as i said.....perfectly fine and reasonably priced!

Gathered for family celebration, usually go to Good Earth in Mill hill. Regency is good value for money, huge portions but very hit or miss. Busy restaurant and stafff struggled to keep eye in tabke, not attentive to topping up tea, water, slow to clear finhshed plates, but friendly enough The food as said hit or miss. Typhoon prawns were fabulous, golden prawns terrible. Ribs very Fatty and unappealing presentation, lemon chicken excellent, lamb and ginger tasteles, rice served in small cold bowls, I am still waiting for the noodles. Won't be returning in a hurry but probably better than most local Chinese

Avoid avoid. The meat smelled awfully bad and tasted bitter! which makes me think they use old meats. Will update if there will be any food poisoning. (Hopefully none) All tasteless too. Regret ordering! The only thing that was good was the Char siu bun but it makes me think what they put inside now. Sorry but no monkey business please.

Tasted adequate at best, but awful portion sizes, very expensive and very average. I got one of the expensive seafood Medley and had barely any seafood just packed Full of green peppers. Won’t order from here again.

Party of 10 friends. Busy restaurant but i guess normal for a saturday night. Food arrived very fast and piping hot. Usually with chinese we have starters first then a break and then soup arrives. all dishes arrived all at once but in a way a good idea as gave the soup time to cool down a bit. 4 plates of mixed starters and 1 fish mixed platter and also extra spare ribs. totally demolished and enjoyed by all. Crab and sweetcorn soup was top notch. too many main course dishes to mention but not one complaint from anyone. Usually there is always someone that doesnt like something but no complaints from any of us. To end the night off i can highly recommend the coconut ice cream, if you like coconut that is. For the amount of food and drinks we ordered it worked out at £36 each which for the quality and amount i think that was very reasonable. Top marks Regency.

You forgot half of our order second time I’ve had a oily curry tasteless all of it only person who enjoyed this is the bin very expensive outraged I wouldn’t even feed this to my dog and he loves food!!!!!

Decent Chinese food but they seem to want to get you in and out as quickly as possible and it seems very expensive for what you get.

The best chinese food, by far, within Potters Bar and a 5 mile radius. Jason, the boss, is very attentive, as are his staff, but not getting in your face.

Went for mums wedding reception.. great food and service

Awful quality. The chicken satay tasted old, the sweet and sour had hardly any pork ,everything was tasteless. The only good thing was the duck and it wasn’t cheap, nearly£50.never again.

This place always maintains the quality and taste of their food. It's an expensive restaurant but worth a visit.

Disgusting Chinese. We were seated, we ordered our food and to our surprise, the whole order was at our table within 4 minutes. Yes, this is a bad thing. The food comes out so fast that it's impossible for it to have been made fresh. They pre-cook all the common/popular dishes and just microwave them before serving. Avoid at all costs.

Girls night out. Headed here and were seated in a quiet table in the corner. Took the drinks order and they arrived promptly. Two of the girls opted for wine, but still, drinks help you choose! All food well presented, mine was very nice, everyone else said theirs was good too. Didn't have desert as too stuffed from dinner. Took food home too! Breakfast!

Not overly impressed, the food comes out quickly hardly had 5 between starters and main. You don't get time to relax between the course

Delicious food efficient service

We had an excellent meal for 5 people. They squeezed us in at short notice after another restaurant cancelled our prior reservation without telling us. The food was very tasty and very reasonably priced
