New China City in Hertsmere

We used to love the food year but over the last 12 months it has become hit and miss. Last night's order was so laden with salt that our mouths burned into the next day The special fried rice tasted and smelled only of egg Not worth ruining our health with this food

Wery disappointed with the food its was not tasty never coming back.

The food was decent, as you’d expect with a takeaway but the driver was absolutely rude and yelled at us which ruins the whole experience.

The staff are very rude you could almost make a sitcom out of it! Quality of food and accuracy of orders has also gone downhill. Perhaps they're under new management or something. Oh well - back to Regency.

Only had a tenner cash - asked for their suggestion for food which understandably is a big ask. I got a delicious sweet and sour main as well as a fried rice for just under ten pounds. The food was amazing, service was amazing for accepting my request, and last of all I spent no more than 5 minutes waiting for my food. Good £10 well spent.

Delicious food and great service. The staff are friendly and professional. The dumplings and King Prawns (Szechuan Style) were incredible!

Recently came back from Canada and glad I did,easy the best Chinese takeaway in Potters bar,the food is beautiful,the owners are lovely friendly people,always a pleasure and the only takeaway for me and my family,if your looking for an excellent Chinese takeaway with good prices the you will not be disappointed at this place 10/10 from me.

Used to be a Regency-biased Chinese food addict. Had to re-budget slightly post-pandemic but wow, what a find. Found my new favourite spot. EXCELLENT food, friendly prompt service, and the cherry on the cake...? cash only! Hurrah. Keep it up x

First time ordering from here tonight, the food is piping hot, I've tried a few Chinese in potters bar and have to say this is the best. Portion sizes are good and the taste. Delivery person and perapn on the phone was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Only downside is that we had to spend over £30 for free prawn crackers. The fact that I haven't even finished eating and I've put this up, says it all. Thank you New China City.

Lovely take away and lovely friendly people. The food was hot when it was delivered, correct order and very tasty. Have used New China City before and the food has always been very good at very reasonable prices.

Thought I'd give this place a try, I won't be going back. Much better Chinese restaurants in the area

Avoid at all cost food is salty and trash staff are rude kept me on the phone. Whilst shouting we don’t do refunds for salty food when I went to get my money back was a big issue WORST Chinese in potters bar if I could give you ZERO STARS believe me I would what a shambles of an establishment I don’t understand when there is four chinese restaurants in close proximity they do not compete with even the worst one of them all wouldn’t even feed the food to my cat LEAVE THIS PLACE ALONE!!!!!

Perhaps got them on an off day. Stood ages before was noticed by an old gentleman who didn't get my order quite right. Food reasonable otherwise and hot.

Cheapest Chinese shop i have seen and the food is not bad. Most dishes 5 pounds 💷.........unlike most Chinese shops where its 6pounds plus

For the balance of price vs flavour, I think this place is the best Chinese place in Potters Bar? Sometimes the food can be a tad salty but overall I’ve never been unhappy with what I’ve had delivered and the orders are always precise— no missing items ever which seems like a minor miracle. Only downside is that they only take cash. I LOVE the chilli chips here, they’re my favourite chips ever. Also the little grandma who delivered the food last time was so cute I always see her in the kitchen if I go for collection!

I have severe food poisoning from the Crispy Duck. The rest of the food was lovely but avoid the duck at all costs!

I have had takeaways from New China City for as long as I can remember and I agree with other posts here, this has to be the best Chinese Takeaway in Potters Bar. I have never had a bad meal and when friends have visited and we fancied a takeaway, they have been really impressed too. It’s a family run business that is part of the fabric of Potters Bar. You won’t get a better Chinese Takeaway and the prices are good too !! It’s cash only FYI 👍

I am amazed by the low rating of this place and can only assume it is due to the local competition. I have not wrote a rating before but thought I must for this great chinese. Me and my family have been visiting this chinese for over 15 years and this is still my favourite. So much so that I regularly travel over 30 mins now from my new home to vist New China City. I love the family staff here. They are so friendly and always ensure the food is perfect. If I have ever had an issue (and I am really struggling to think of more than one in 15 years) they have resolved it with no questions and a big smile! If you are silly enough to listen to the (probably false) negative ratings, then you will miss out on an incredible Chinese experience!

Good Asian food at reasonable prices!

The food here is quite simply, for lack of a better word - legendary. I have long since run out of superlatives to describe this wonderful establishment, and to be frankly honest, I feel that even Shakespeare himself would struggle to encapsulate the magnificence of the cuisine using the mere vocabulary we're gifted known as the English language. The service was second to none, and after meeting the omni-benevolent staff at this theatre of culinary glory, I find my parents' demeanour towards myself lacking in finesse.

We've being ordering food from this place for years now and have never been disappointed. There are so many dishes to choose from and this place beats Chinatown any day! Prices are very reasonable too, but more importantly, the food is tasty!

Possibly the best Chinese takeaway in Potters Bar, traditional cooking methods and an excellent and very well experienced chef with 40 years experience. Consistency is very good here and dishes are very flavorsome, a very good Chinese takeaway indeed.

Generous portions with delicious chicken dishes! Been there many times now and happy with the change! The chilli chips and chilli crispy chicken are particularly yummy!!

very very poor,would not use again,worst £40.00 ever spent. ribs were like leather,rice dishes were very soggy,over all not a good experience,food just did not taste right,mind you the dog slept for 2 days.
