Thoroughly enjoy every trip we have to red willow! It’s one of our regular spots and it’s always super friendly and welcoming, often have live music on, quizzes etc that are advertised on their social media. The selection of drinks is extensive and there is something for everyone! The staff are always super friendly and accommodating and it’s always kept lovely and clean. Can’t fault it at all, will keep going back 😊🩷

Very disappointed with the Red willow; it had been highly recommended by the Buxton Rail Ale guide. 10 of us arrived at 12,15 to sample their cask beers - none available. Told minimimum wait f 15 min for 1 of 5 advertised being cleaned. Moved on to other great pubs in Buxton and returned at 4.00 pm to sample their wares. Still just one available - very poor show. Left to find better venue. Second group of 8 we met there were also disappointed.

Was a great venue when it first opened but continues to go downhill. The toilets are disgusting and need cleaning, there are always plenty of staff about but most don't seem interested and stand chatting while people wait to get served.

If you enjoy the ambience of a tired funeral parlour crossed with an end of the pier/end of season disco..this will suit you fine. However, be aware ladies over 55 as your custom is not a priority. Having been on the receiving end of a blatant ageist and sexist customer experience, I for one, will not visit again. The bartender requires training on diversity and inclusion.

Redwillow in Buxton has been a favourite and regular haunt of ours for a spot of lunch over the past few years. The staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming. The wine delicious and up until today the pizzas were always excellent and good value for money - the Nduja pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever had to be honest. Imagine therefore our disappointment with our visit today. We were greeted warmly by the lovely lady as per normal, but then were told they’d stopped doing the pizzas and changed to an all pie menu. The selection, by comparison to the pizza menu is very limited but we thought we’d give it a try. I ordered a chicken pie and my wife had the vegetarian. They took quite a while to come and I have to say were very poor when they did. The pastry was rock hard and completely the wrong consistency and the filling was largely flavourless. Accompanied by a small dollop of mash and some peas. Given the price of the pies is quite a bit higher than the excellent pizzas they used to do we left feeling disappointed and very short changed. Whoever made the decision to switch the menu needs their head looking at - why change something that isn’t broken in the first place? Why make it quite markedly worse and charge more at the same time? Regretfully I don’t think we’ll be back again, not at least until they realise their mistake and change the menu back….

Redwillow is a brewery outlet for Redwillow brewery, Macclesfield. They have extensive beers from light beers, to the rather heavy Breakfast Stout, which is smooth, and "glides down the throat like a little Jesus Christ in white knickerbockers", which is how the late and magnificent Richard Harris, once described the stout of old Dublin, and I now know what he means, as Guinness never hit the mark for me.Booth seating downstairs and some sofa or table seating upstairs (not accessable to wheelchairs). My order was taken by a delightful member of staff named Hope, chatty and makes one less worried about the future of today's youth as they metamorphasise into fully rounded, competent adults that can hold a conversation with people over three times their age. Other staff all very pleasant too. Beer not cheap but if you want good quality, you need to pay for it.There are still perspex screens between the booths, but masks are not necessary, which is a good thing in my opinion.

Lovely little real ale type place, prices where expensive, infact when I checked a large wine and a bag of cashews cost me almost £12, yet a wine & a pint of shandy was £8.50, I know should have checked sooner, asked for a receipt but only way was via email, won't happen again. We sat with friends and waited to be served, and waited, and waited. there were 4 girl on service but preferred to chat and let 1 do most of the work, I caught the senior ones eye who mouthed just a minute. So not too impressed, place and drinks good, service not so.

This is a really good bar, easy to find on Cavendish Circus. Inside, seating is in booths which are ideal for social distancing regulations. Decor is classic with a lot of wood panelling and high ceilings. I also noticed an upstairs mezzanine seating area to the rear. They have a great selection of Red Willow brewery beers (you can get the details of each from the screen above the bar) and you're also able to buy schooners of each (2/3 pint measures) which are great for trying more. The staff are excellent - friendly and attentive. Altogether, really good.

My wife and I enjoyed a couple of drinks in this excellent bar which retains many features of its previous incarnation as a bank, including wood panelling, a high ceiling and of course its attractive exterior. We were lucky to end up in the cosy and private snug with its comfortable seating and frosted, etched windows. Almost all the keg beers were vegan friendly, including all the offerings in the RedWillow range, from which I enjoyed the Wreckless and Headless pale ales. We booked a table for 5 (it turned out to be in the small office area) for a birthday celebration. It was frustrating continually trying to get the attention of the staff in order to try to get a drink until eventually we left. The bar does have covid precautions in place - but the fact the lady behind the bar wore her mask under her chin (not covering her mouth or nose) for the duration we were there kind of negated all covid procedures.

This bar has to have been the best place we've visited with regard to Covid procedures. From having your temperature taken on entry, track and trace and to perspex dividers between booths, we felt safe and relaxed. We asked if other businesses in the area felt that they were OTT with what they're doing and were told that if they did, it didn't matter. Spot on answer! We visited several times during our stay in Buxton. We only discovered late in the week that food could be available but as we always visited after dinner elsewhere, it wasn't a problem. We liked it for the atmosphere, great service and care to detail. The music was very good too.A 'grown up' place to relax with a good drink. Oh and we were so impressed with the temperature gun, we ordered one whilst there! The fun we've had since we got home. On a serious note though, it's a very useful and inexpensive piece of kit. Thanks, Red Willow.

Tasty beers! Excellently priced! 2 halfs for a fiver! The beers were really tasty. The decor was comfortable and cosy, really friendly but professional team (good on them running a full bar with just 2 front of house staff, and running it well!!!) In terms of Covid response, this has hands down been the most comfortable place to visit. Actual enforcement of the test and trace registering, appropriate PPE and cleaning materials for the staff and contactless for menus and online menu for perusing. Our temperatures were also taken, which helped create a sense of ease once seated. However full table service was provided, with appropriate social distancing.

Friday night , popped in as usual (normally like this place) for a drink after a show at the Opera House ... sadly the live music was ridiculously loud ... I bet the singer had a good voice but it was so loud you couldn't hear him over the noise ... the place is small yet the sound system was set as if we were at Glastonbury .. RIDICULOUS for such a small place... nearly 18 quid for two drinks to be necked and get out of there... seriously wont be recommending or even going back til they do something about the inordinate sound levels ... Worst thing was the bar girl asked me four times what I wanted with my gin despite me ordering Gin and Tonic.... Sitting at home now 30 minutes later ears still ringing for the loud sounds in a small pub ...

It would be nice if they had a list of their spirits so you didn't have to strain to try and read them, but I tried a few bottom shelf gins. Cherry was my favourite.

We came across this lovely little place by accident (its not hidden by any means) we sat in a very comfortable snug area which made it intimate and special, as there was a small group of us. We had cocktails which we chose from a menu on the table and they were delicious.. I would definitely recommend The Orchard cocktail... amazing!

Haven’t been here for awhile but sadly nothing has changed! Last time we were here they were changing the drinks menu, this time it was printed with spelling mistakes. Seems like excuses, with 50+ gins to choose from this is a poor show. Take welly’s for the toilets and this was only 5pm. Friends say the foods great but let down by lots of other things haven’t felt I could. Gets really busy so best to book. Really want to love this place just needs to get its act together!

This is the third time I've eaten here and each time the food is excellent. The pizzas are lovely and fresh. The dips and patron peppers amazing. We had the cowboy stew on this occasion and it was extremely tasty as was the bread which is baked locally. Nice staff and lovely surroundings.

I had wanted to come here on our visit to Buxton as heard very good things. Boy did the bar and the staff live up to those. The beer list is great, about 20 on total, think it was 15 of their own and approx 5 guest beers. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the product, I bought 6 cans to take home receiving 25% off and the barman helped me choose a couple. We also ordered food, we ordered a few dishes to share, man did we get a lot of food. Nachos, pizza, pork crackling, chorizo. The food was immense and you could not stop eating. This place is a must when in Buxton.

This genuinely is up there with some of the best bars/pubs I’ve ever been in, an unreal amount of beers and ales to choose from(with the amazing help of the barman whose name I forget... he had long hair give him my thanks) the staff were amazing particularly the gentleman previously mentioned who explained and gave tasters to see what I preferred, excellent people skills and even better pints! My partner had a gin and tonic and was unsure what to have and again the gentleman was extremely helpful in marrying the gin to the tonic! Best experience I had whilst in Buxton and will 100% be making a return visit!

We called in one Saturday afternoon prior to a concert at the Opera House. It's a great looking building that must have previously been a bank. There's a neat games area upstairs with comfy chairs that is great for chilling. The choice of beers is pretty good and unless you go for the strong stuff you are paying between £3-£3.50 for a nice pint. The staff are pleasant and efficient. Did n't try the food but the menu looked quite interesting albeit a bit limited.

Really great bar in what was an old bank building in the heart of Buxton. Superb range of cans, bottles and taps from the excellent Red Willow brewery in Macclesfield together with lots of guest beers from the likes of Cloudwater (yum!).

Stopped off in Buxton for overnight stay on way back from Edinburgh. Walked into town from campsite & was looking for some refreshment & came upon this little gem. Fabulous selection of ales & beers so we decided to have a beer. Looked at the menu which, although not extensive, was very interesting. We went for the burrata with flat breads & the vegetarian nacho bowl to share. They were absolutely delicious and very substantial. The service throughout was excellent - very friendly and helpful. Also have to say the building (which was an old bank) was fabulous. All in all a really great choice and would thoroughly recommend. Don’t know when we’ll be back in the area but would make a detour if anywhere nearby.

One word that sums this place, stunning. Staff are friendly, wide selection on beers and the food is outstanding, nachos have to be the best we’ve had and to top it all, dog friendly. One to visit while in the area

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. Really nice selection of good value beers. Had a selection of freshly made pizzas for lunch, and they also specially made a vegan pizza. Staff were really welcoming. Even provided a water bowl for our dog. Wish this pub was closer to where we live!

We had a fantastic time here. The blues band were excellent and it’s a lovely bar- we loved sitting on the mezzanine. My GF asked for a G&T-; she wasn’t overly fussed about which gin she was getting (house/Gordon’s was fine) but the barman arsely pointed out they had 62 gins! In his defence, he probably was pre-pubescent when ‘G’n’t was a reasonable request at a bar. We enjoyed a good laugh/reflection about this- all in all, what a great bar.

Really lovely bar with fabulous choice of craft beers and the best range of gins I have ever seen. Great bar snacks and pizzas and the friendliest staff - you really must try this place. We love Red Willow brewery beers - to the point where we got the train from Manchester to Buxton for our son's birthday bash at one of their pubs! Such a good atmosphere - a really great night out.

Really nice bar in old bank premises. Beers ok too and very knowledgeable staff too. Many gins but dithering customers can slow service down badly.

Stopped by on our travels through Buxton. We're warned against this pub by people at another one as it just had TVs in. Got there and turned out it had TVs right enough but with their beer menu on (and linked to Untappd) which I personally enjoyed. Good selection of beers and good sitting areas either in the open or more private if you want that.

Sampled a couple of Red willow beers which were good but a bit expensive. The building used to be a bank and the conversion is nicely done. Didn't eat here but the pizzas looked good.

Arrived about 10.20pm after a wonderful evening with our friends. The place had four other people sat having a drink other than that it was empty. We found a both to sit in and my friend and I went to the bar. The young lady behind looked bored out of her head and we asked for two Pinkster Gin & Tonics also two coffees.

Never open at the correct times. Visited three times over the same week and waited 30-60 minutes before giving up and climbing nearby Mam Tor as they were not open even though they said they were.
