Great staff. Limited dinner menu but excellent food. Usual self serve buffet breakfast. Plenty of food still available close to cut off 10.00 am.

A superb venue , very stylish and airy. Our meal of three courses was excellent, perfectly cooked and presented. The staff were friendly, but we felt under constant pressure to eat quickly and leave. We felt there was no time to relax between courses, and we were asked eachh time if our food was OK barely two mouthfuls in. After dessert, coffee was not mentioned. Our booking was at 7.30pm, so not late. We will not be coming again

Me, my husband and young son dined here over the Christmas period and had a lovely and relaxed experience. It was fancy enough to make an effort with dress but relaxed enough to feel family friendly. My son thought the service was exceptional and even got upset that he couldn’t finish his dinner, incase he upset someone haha. Will return.

The food at the Redmonds restaurant was divine. It was honestly the tastiest meal I've ever had! Every member of staff we encountered was so helpful and friendly, we genuinely felt very welcomed here. The spa day was incredible, the spa garden was so much fun and the drinks service straight to the hot tub was a nice touch! Inside, the spa facilities were luxurious and the ice water fountain was cool, haven't seen anything quite like this before. Overall, an amazing stay.

The restaurant was part of our golf package so we had an allowance each night which would have covered 2 courses easily. There were plenty of options even for my husband and he is a fussy/selective eater. The food was gorgeous and the staff excellent.

From the minute we walked in, the service was brilliant. We were greeted by a lovely smiley lady. We were seated and the staff looking after us were attentive and lovely. One young lady was training and was brilliant, as was the young man training her. We had the pea and mint soup and goat’s cheese salad for starters. SUPERB !!! For main we had the burger and Sea bass. EVERYTHING was perfect temperature , so tasty and filling. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you x

Having stayed at Carden Park for 4 nights, we are incredibly thankful that we only had to eat dinner in the restaurant once, unfortunately breakfast was a different story. The food is overpriced and is not terrible, but is of poor quality. The breakfast is tantamount to a Premier Inn breakfast with limited options, obviously poor quality sausages, bacon and continental options. The ketchup even tasted cheap! There was a small selection of fruit which was tasteless and the pastries looked similar to those bought in Tesco! The only thing decent was the coffee machine. As for dinner… we had the sharing bread and the duck starter. The bread was basic but the whipped butter and accompanying lemon and Parmesan salad was tasty. The duck was nice but the pancakes it was served with were dry and sparse! We had burgers as the main which were fine, but nothing special. The pudding of eton mess was well presented but the meringue was dry and we did not get the impression that it was freshly made as it arrived to our table so quickly! What made the dining so poor was the price. Everything was expensive for a lack of thought and quality… such a shame as this certainly let down our experience at Carden Park. We would recommend dining out and having a meal at The Vines which was a top tier experience. Perhaps the Vines should offer a made to order breakfast menu which we would have preferred and paid more for, rather than having to eat here.

My wife and I stayed at Carden Park Hotel for a three night break. We ate at Redmonds restaurant for breakfast each morning and an evening meal on the last night. After reading some negative reviews I had some reservations. As it turned out I need not have worried because the food and service were immaculate. The breakfast was well cooked, hot and plentiful. The evening meal though was first class. The whole dining experience was worth every penny. I would highly recommend the restaurant and it is obvious that the team has worked hard to get things to its current standard. Very enjoyable experience.

Having eaten at Redmond's once in the past, I booked my partner into Carden Park and Redmond's for a surprise one-night stay to celebrate a birthday. Redmond's is said to be a classy, AA rosette restaurant, but what we discovered was an extremely pricey, comically poor experience: It took around 15 minutes for someone to take our food order - and no one came to ask for drink orders. We ordered a starter of bread and houmous, with butternut ravioli and steak for mains. The bread and houmous took around 40 minutes to come, and was literally some thick slices from a bloomer, with no butter, just a thimble full of houmous - barely enough for one person. We flagged a waiter down and asked for some more, but later did notice other tables being brought butter, so we assume that was just forgotten about at the time. Mains were another 20 minutes or so. In the meantime, we'd heard complaints from every single table around us - one about the slow service, one about a cold coffee, one about a starter being cold, one in which the server had totally forgotten someone's meal and simply brought them out a side of mashed potato, and another about their fillet of salmon being half ice-cold and half hot. When it arrived, my meal consisted of 6 pieces of ravioli (£15!) with some brocolli and raisins, and my partner's steak (~£25!) was overcooked. We would have complained at the time, but by this point we were hungry and didn't want to further ruin the evening by arguing with staff. In total, the 2 course meal took nearly two hours, cost around £60 (which was not far off the price of the hotel itself) and genuinely ruined what had been planned out as a big birthday surprise. I'd be more than happy for the manager to contact me and to talk this through, but in hindsight do wish I'd bitten the bullet and complained at the time, as I would appreciate a partial refund.

Terrible service and no atmosphere and lack of enthusiasm from the waiting staff.for a 5 star hotel the individual traveller is not the guest you get the impression they want, they are focused more on large catering functions. Breakfast was fine large choice of buffet food and nicely presented.

Me and my girlfriend stayed the night in the hotel, so we booked Redmond’s for dinner. We both ordered the sirloin steak cooked medium. The steak was cooked perfect and it was rested perfect but when I tried a piece it was really chewy which indicates a cheap cut of meat so we wasn’t too happy with that because it was around £25 per steak. We could have went to one of the local pubs in the area for a lot cheaper. A good place to eat in that area is a pub 2 mins away from the hotel it’s called cock o barton try Sunday lunch there we really enjoyed it.

Redmonds restaurant service was poor, took too long and waiters/waitresses spend to much time talking which delays food coming out we were in there for nearly two hours or more and continuously reminding about our food not arrived yet.

The Woodland is close to Ellemere Port Hospital and serves for much of the day. Usual "Stonehouse" fayre. Very pleasant member of staff who checked for allergies and carried our drinks to our table as I am dodgy on my feet. We took advantage of the offer of two meals for £11.75 from a reduced menu. Pleasant food, but nothing special, except the price.

My wife and I are regular customers when we visit the retail outlet. When we were there on Wednesday 23rd October the coffee and cake was very nice but there was a cold draught coming from some of the air conditioning units. I had to move seats 3 times to get out of the cold draught. Also 3 other customers had the same problem.

My friend and I stayed here on Friday 18th October. A brilliant location just perfect, unfortunately that is the only good thing i can say about. From springs sticking out of the mattress, to faulty lights, not central light so room appears dark. However the worst is the noise, although we were told on arrival it would be a quiet night and finish early. It didn't and at 2am when the music ended the staff then made a lot of noise moving the furniture under a canopy which lasted nearly an hour. I can't believe they think people of any age would be able to sleep through such noise

Stayed here a few times. Staff very friendly. The building outside is looking a bit tired and paths and carpark could do with a clean. A few huge holes in the car park need filling as very deep. Regular free WiFi is rubbish but you can upgrade your WiFi at an extra charge but for what you pay for your room this is a bit expensive. If staying a few nights you have to request at reception if you require room service.
