We enjoyed a delightful meal at Redditch Spice. We regularly have takeaways from here (which are always fab), so four of us visited on Sunday evening for a sit-in meal for a change. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a modern cosy atmosphere; the food was wonderful and tweaked to perfection. We all had different dishes and everything was cooked and presented beautifully, generous portion sizes too. The service (as always) was friendly and chatty. We took our own booze and the waiters kept us regularly topped up with ice. It’s a bring-your-own-booze restaurant, so you don’t have to pay restaurant prices for drinks, which is a great way to enjoy a lovely meal in very pleasant surroundings at a reasonable cost (there is a Co-Op next door if you forget to take alcoholic drinks with you). All-in-all a fab night, we’ll definitely be back. It’s the best BYOB Indian restaurant in Redditch.

Went for early night curry friday 31st may.It was lovely ,The service was brilliant.the starters and curries myself and my partner had were topnotch.Would definatley go again.

First come first serve. Bring your own alcohol as they do not have licence to serve. A Co-Op is available next door open until 10pm. It tends to get busy during rush hour 6-8pm on weekends, I would advise booking reservations and placing an order in advance to receive them on time. Online bookings may not be received. To be safe, give the restaurant a call to confirm your booking after 5:30pm. They offer a 10% discount for collection orders. Through their website you are able to place a delivery or collection order and receive a free starter (Ch Tikka, Onion Bhaji or Veg/Meat Samosa) acceptable for cash payments only. Cash is king. The cost for a meal would average £15-£20 including a curry, naan and rice per person. Delivery charges are given for those who live 3+ miles away from the restaurant. The restaurant often receive a high inflow of orders which may delay servings/deliveries which will increase collection/delivery times to ensure all customers receive their orders accordingly. If arriving by a vehicle, customers may be informed to wait in their vehicle while their order is being prepared and have it delivered to them during rush hours on weekends. For those wanting a quick meal or a family dinner, I would refer to Redditch Spice to spend time with colleagues and friends. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to those passing by Redditch and Bromsgrove. Party bookings are available for large gatherings, book in advance - a deposit may be required to ensure the booking is secured. Price may vary from competition however it is up to you to decide on feedback.

This great family-run restaurant has recently won yet another award, which is not surprising. The interior décor is modern & fresh and the food is always delicious. Ordered from here many of times online as it was cash only, but decided for the first time to order over the phone as it was more convenient paying by card and they forgot parts of my order (chips) I payed over £34 for my order and I didn’t enjoy it as parts of it was missing. I rang them and they told me I would have chips within the next 10 mins 20 Mins pasted by so I called and cancelled! Am not happy at all as I’ve payed for something I didn’t receive! Ruined my meal

Very average to be honest. Visited on a quiet Monday night. Cash only as card machine broken. 3 meals totally different but two looked and tasted the same when they arrived. Mine tasted ok, nothing special. Friends agreed. Shan't be returning, I'm afraid.

Attending a wedding reception in the evening nearby, so decided to pop here as a group of 5 for an early dinner. Restaurant completely empty but we knew we were in for a treat as the reviews were fantastic and the staff seemed friendly......UNTIL we ordered. We chose to order poppadums to start followed by three main dishes and lots of sides. After a few minutes we were informed unless we ordered a main course each, we would have to leave. We politely explained that we were having three mains and all just trying some with a multitude of sides as two of the party didn't eat much, but were again told this wasn't acceptable and we needed a main each or we would have to pay a table charge.... (remember, the restaurant was completely empty at this point). We paid for our poppadums and left. Never EVER have I experienced this - suffice to say, we will NOT be back. Do not attend unless hungry enough to eat a whole curry each. Sharing is not caring at Reddich Spice.....

For a restaurant claiming to be the best in Redditch to receive what we did was very disappointing. We ordered takeaway via just eat and what we got was average. We ordered a selection of 5 starters and received 2 small salad trays which had more lemon than lettuce! We received 3 small yoghurt mint sauces which just about stretched between us all, the food was ok but nothing to rave about. The mains were also ok however I’ve had far better elsewhere, the Naan bread also was ok We received a bag of onion salad and a small pot of chutney but no poppadoms however a menu arrived with the food which suggests it would have been far cheaper to order via their website …. If only we’d known that !! Not that it’s going to encourage us to order again - quite disappointed!!

Two of us are gluten intolerant and following an advance phone call to advise them, we ordered some lovely food. Parthia with lamb and one with chicken served with vegetable pilau. Absolutely delicious, plenty of it and we enjoyed every mouthful. Thanks for ensuring we had no wheat, it’s great we can trust you😊

Ordered takeaway through Just Eat. Originally told 8.30pm eventually arrived at 9.20pm. This was after calls made telling us it was ready at 8.30pm and they were waiting for a driver to which we questioned how hot was it going to be when it arrived. After arriving another 50 minutes later we were correct in that all the food was warm at best which we had to microwave. And the naan breads were cold. Totally unhelpful and dismissive when on the phone to them. Safe to safe we will never use again.

Took my son for a meal here, Best Indian meal I have had in ages. Starters and main courses were superb! The restaurant was completely full but still the service and from all the staff was brilliant, really friendly. Will be going back soon and would highly recommend to anyone!!

what a gem of a restaurant this is. being very small it retains an intimate atmosphere. also being small you usually get good service and are sure of attention. booking is important though given the limited tables, especially Fridays and weekends. the chap on reception...

Have eaten everywhere in town,and without doubt this is the best curry house of all,great helpful staff,who can advise from menu,if you state what you like,best to book over weekends,because of its popularity.Have been travelling the world,and still adore curries,this place is consistently spot on.

First & last time of ordering a takeaway. Ordered at 6.10pm...told it would be an hour. Rang 4 times between 7.30 & 8.40 to be told each time delivery was imminent. Gave up. If we had been told 2.5 hours in the beginning we would have made a different decision. Shocking. Never again

Always such delicious food here and this time seemed even tastier, portion size seemed bigger too. We didn't book but were given a table straight away. Very reasonably priced. Recommend 100%

A good range of well prepared dishes available at The Redditch Spice; friendly service, comfortable seating (although it might be a bit of a squeeze if busy). It is unlicensed but that said the Co-Operative on the corner has a wide selection and there is no corkage! Good parking across the road or around the back. Well worth a visit.

I Come here with my family most Saturdays the food is always outstanding quality. We are always made to feel very welcome one of the staff members even knows are order off my heart which is really good. We love coming here all the staff are lovely kind friendly people. We love this place. Xxxx

Redditch spice is ok to eat in but I always order at home. Other than a well known Indian restaurant in Astwood Bank, this place is hard to beat. Great prices and excellent tasting curry. Drivers nearly always on time as well.

I ordered on Friday night around 7pm and had to wait 2 hours for the food to be delivered. Initially was told it would be an hour but the time of delivery was delayed TWICE. I understand that weekends are busy but it was only 7pm and 2 hours is just ridiculous. I phoned after an hour and a half and was told the food was on the way - evidently this wasn’t the case as it doesn’t take half an hour to deliver a curry?

Table booked 9.30pm. Arrived on time but table still occupied ... waited around 30 mins before table free... perhaps you should have designated sitting? Ie you eat early your table is only available until a set time. Waiters are fab though and very friendly.... food was spot on had shazlick really tasty.

Had a few drinks with some friends round our home and decided we would get a decent bit of food. I like my food hot so I went for the hassan special. Full of green chilli's and tandoori chicken was superb. Every curry we get from here as a takeaway or if we eat in is great and you can't fault it

We booked in here last minute after the restaurant we were going to cancelled due to frozen pipes.

Went to Redditch Spice five weeks ago and had a very nice meal.....on the basis of that took ten family members for a Birthday meal....arrived at ten to seven...all well..popadoms etc...waited some time for starters...restaurant wasn’t busy at all lots of empty tables....but others served and leaving having eaten....and left....two and a quarter hours later after three requests we are still waiting for our mains...some of the party have not yet eaten...mains arrive two of which have cold meat and warm sauce....rice ten minutes later and then have to ask for naan...and rice...good fifteen minutes to fully serve food...There are very few people in the restaurant now and they are waiting too....but no one is being served...our food is cold before full meal arrives...whilst this is going on the takeaway drivers are repeatedly in and out...same driver seen four times and we still had no food.....quality very poor and to finish the evening off..the Manager smiled when we complained...very dismissive......and the front of house..Miah?? Very dismissive....where is the older guy that used to run this place..very good very professional...this was a shambles and came away without eating....disgraceful......my advice ..do not visit..just order a takeaway because this was there priority for this evening and £130 for the privilege ....never again.....

Went here on a busy Friday evening. We were shown to our table immediately and offered poppadoms. We all had something different. My mushroom pilau was the best I've ever tasted. Along with a chicken bhuna and Garlic naan made for a great tasty meal

We have been frequent customers at Redditch spice having family meals there and take aways. Called on a Saturday night at 5.40 to order a family meal and I was told 1 hour which was fine . After an hour and ten minutes I called to enquire and I was told he had left with the delivery. So with the reasonable expectation of him arriving within 5mins we agreed(restaurant is literally 2min drive away) fast forward 2 further calls and a half an hour later and 2 very hungry children nagging profusely we told them to cancel the order at this stage we were offered a discount, no was the answer from us we will take our business elsewhere came our reply. Which we did! Oh and by the way 2 hours after the initial order the driver arrived and we turned him away. Shockingly bad delivery, customer service and attitude from Redditch spice. I will be telling everyone I previously recommended this restaurant too that they should take there custom elsewhere!!

We thought that we would try Redditch Spice for a takeaway tonight. It was amazing, food was beautifully cooked and arrived hot, delivered by a friendly guy. This will definately not be the last time we use this restaurant. some different dishes from our norm were tried an all lived up to expectations fully. Excellent, will definately use the takeaway service and the restaurant again. likely to become our new regular.

I have given a rating of three. In my opinion a three is an indication that the food is adequate and the service OK, no whistles and bells to make the restaurant stand out.We had Poppadoms and chutneys to start with onion bhajis. The pops were freshly cooked, the chutneys just standard issue, the bhaji was slightly undercooked but tasty and edible.Mains consisted of a bright red Tikka masala , I don't know why restranteurs think this colour is more appealing than natural colours - it isn't. I had Chicken Dhansak , which was nice , sweet an spicy . I thought both dishes could have used a bit more chicken. I ordered a Peshwari Nan and received a plain one but as the restaurant was extremely busy (a good sign), I was not too bothered and refused a replacement as we were on a tight time schedule.Wine was purchased from the co - op next door , making the experience very reasonable cost wise .2 starters and 2 mains were £23 which I thought was fair.

had a take away Friday evening we had chicken sagwalla,lamb de kohda both curries were very wet and my lamb was supposed to be spicy but it was very bland which was a shame because we had eaten at the restaurant numerous times and the meals were great, will go to the restaurant again but not a takeaway

we arrived on a Wednesday night @7.30 and the place was packed, quite cold, as someone else has said. Big menu, which I'm always wary of, but the food was very good.i had one of the garlic Tawa dishes , which was excellent, and I would have again, service / kitchen was slow, we didn't get our mains til 9.30. parking behind and opposite, and Coop next door for alcohol.I will definitely be back

Have been going to Redditch Spice since it opened a few years ago. It has recently changed hands so I was a little wary of the new owners food, pleased to say the starters and mains were very good indeed and the waiter was very good at sorting one of my friends meal out for him as he does not do hot but likes to try different dishes out.

A group of us met here for an evening meal. Everyone liked their food, the starters were really quite good. The mains were nice but a bit samey. What they call medium I call mild, but then a Jalfrezi was apparently hotter than expected. But the food was fresh, and the meat plentiful. The really good thing is that one brings one's own drinks, which cuts the costs, and you get whatever you want. I suspect the next door co-op does a good trade!Parking is easy, there is a carpark right opposite. And if you fancy after meal drinking there's a pub almost next door too.

With a cousin from the USA we went out to dinner here and the tandoori lamb that my cousin and my wife ordered was as tough as leather! The sauce was great but the meat was awful. After complaining it was changed and the replacement lamb/chicken was ok.A disappointment when such good reports have been given for this restaurant.

Had tried the place before and it was a bit "meh" but heard through an acquaintance that there was new ownership and a proper chef......So six of us went. We usually go to Essence of Bengal so were intrigued as to how the food would be.To summarise it was FANTASTIC, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. As good as our usual if not better.And the biggest surprise was the bill! £67 for six adults was amazing, even when you bear in mind you take your own drinks.All in all so good I went back tonight and had a takeaway!!!Go, you will love it.

Went here with my wife and Son and from what I read what others have put on here we must of gone on a poor night. The service was terrible. We had to wait nearly a hour for our food ( was just about to walk out when they brought it to our table ). When the food did arrive it was only warm and not hot. The price for the service we had was appalling. We won't be going back there in a hurry.

This used to be our favourite restaurant we would either sit in or have a take out at least 2-3 times a week. Unfortunately when we visited in June there had been a total change of staff and management. The new managers are pleasant but the service food is not to the same standard and the time to wait for food is far to long. We had to wait 40 minutes for food first time and there were only the two of us in the restaurant mid week. The 2nd time we went it was weekend and it was busier and we were waiting 25 mins to order then another 55 minutes for the food. Its a bring your own drinks place which is good, but when we arrived there were no glasses on the table, we asked three times for glasses and none came. So we were left sitting with no drinks or food. Such a shame. There seemed to be a lot of people waiting for food not just us.

We have been going to this lovely little Indian restaurant for many years now. We enjoyed another lovely meal here last night. Good food (adjusted to your liking), friendly service, reasonable prices. A nice 'bring you own booze' curry house. We will definitely be going back again soon. I recommend you reserve at table if visiting on a weekend as it does get very busy on Friday & Saturday evenings.

I am a big fan of Ladypool Road for massive choices, but this is our local and we adore it! Good portions, good service and good food. We always eat in as the service is great; whether you want a full meal, starters or a main nothing is too much trouble. The staff are always welcoming and friendly with trouble taken over the presentation of food. You have to bring your own alcohol, which in my opinion is a far better arrangement. Water provided if you ask. I have tried others in the town and we keep coming back here!

Went here again recently, it's a take your own booze situation but they provide glasses etc. The curries are really good as are the rice accompaniments. Price is good too for a mid weeker!!

Tried this restaurant as it has decent reviews on Just Eat, it arrived quickly and hot all of the meat was decent portions and moist. The sauce was average which was a shame as it didn't have much flavour good value for what it is but nothing special ( Balti Monkish) Keema Naan was good.
