My sister and I visited for a pre show meal. I’d looked at reviews for various Chinese restaurants and this one had the most consistently positive reviews. We were not disappointed. The friendliness of the owner was really lovely. We had spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, tofu, soft noodles. It was all delicious. We finished every bite despite being full. This will be our preferred Chinese restaurant in Manchester going forward.

Excellent food, reasonable price, very friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Lots of Asian customers, which is always a good sign for an Asian restaurant.

After reading some reviews on this site, I am astounded how they have eaten at the same place as us. We have eaten here 5 or 6 times and each time the food and atmosphere has been second to none. Alishea the owner has always been welcoming, and friendly. If you do decide to try Red Restaurant just walk in and see how many local people are in there. I am sure they would not keep going back,( like ourselves) If the food was not excellent. Keep up the great work you are doing. You deserve ever credit x

Decided on this place after reading very good reviews. What a mistake! We chose chicken fried rice to take out. First of all, the price had gone up from last years price of £8.80 (menu on page photos)to £12.80 which was a shock but, knowing how good it is from our local Chinese (we were on holiday), we let it go as we thought it would be the same. When we opened the tubs we were faced with soggy, sticky, clumpy, bland boiled rice with the tiniest cubes of tasteless chicken I’ve ever seen. Tastes like a chicken stock cube has been mixed in. We left most of it. Total waste of money. Just hoping that we can keep down the bit we’ve eaten!! Obviously would not recommend.

Amazing. This is the perfect example of never judge a book by its cover. The restaurant from the outside is fairly non descriptive, however the food and service is impeccable. Hands down the best Chinese food I have EVER had. The service was second to none, and the egg fried rice was just delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and we will definitely come again. We had a family member with us who has an allergy, they couldn’t have been more accommodating for them. Honestly brilliant.

Ordered “sticky chicken”, which was made up of dry over cooked chicken, a dribble of standard sweet chilli sauce and very bland rice. Not very hot either. Cost £11, not worth the price.

Came across this really small cafe by pure chance whilst venturing through the quays. The owner was hidden at the very back of the eatery in the kitchen, and the menu was above you high on the wall. The layout, although small, was filled with benches, so in essence, you can eat inside, but I think it's mainly kept busy by the takeaway crowd. We were not expecting anything much in quality, as the prices were extremely reasonable, that said we were both taken aback to how enjoyable the currys were. What I can recall was that each day, the menu has different currys on offer, vegetarian included also. The owner is also the cook and seems to spend her time preparing and serving the food, which I suspect is all pre-made earlier that day or night before, put into various containers, placed in fridges and the rice, chips and chapati is made whilst you wait. In conclusion, it was really a nice establishment, food was delicious and we will come back again when next up North. Opens every day at 11.30 - 8 pm, closed on a Sunday.

I've lived around the corner for years and have never been. As is the case with most eateries in Chorlton. But recently visited multiple times as we were do impressed on the first visit. Everything here is cooked from scratch on order and right in front of you by seasoned chefs, if you stick around to watch (although would recommend a pint in Fell whilst you wait!). There is an extensive menu to choose from and the food is bang full of flavour, not greasy, service comes with a smile (as well as recommendations to pallette) and prices super reasonable. Can't recommend more highly!

Very old, very dirty, dingey, the food was beyond disappointing, the waiters were friendly but the food is maybe the worst I've ever tried in any restaurant. Flavourless, old, low quality and the price is ridiculously high for this kind of quality. I went here as the reviews made it sound really nice but it was a total waste of money and I would highly recommend you avoid this place. I can't imagine this place has a hygiene rating of more than 1. There are much better Nepalese restaurants in the vicinity, don't waste your time or money. When we got there we saw a family leave with alot of food barely touched, I thought they weren't hungry but should've realised that was a bad sign that the food was awful.
