First time ordering from here, so it was a bit of a gamble, but luckily it paid off. All the food was gorgeous. The Meat was lovely and the Rice was really fluffy, not greasy. Came with free Popadoms and Dips which is always nice. Friendly delivery driver too. Thanks so much, I'll be returning. =)

I ordered to my hotel. After calling the restaurant asking where my order was the guy said on its way little did I now that before I even called my food was already at the hotel left in reception. No call, no confirmation nothing. Normally you would get a call not just food left so it was cold by the time I got to eat as I didn't now it was there

Very impressed with Red Peppers. I’m fussy when it comes to Indian food (being Indian, I know what to expect), most Indian restaurant serve pretty much the same dishes, they’re either too oily or the meat is ridiculously massive and overcooked! But, everything from here was bang on! 2*Popadoms came with the order for free (which usually you have to pay extra for on takeout). I had the meat samosa to start - was very impressed, the pastry was nice & crispy but the meat I wasn’t expecting the spice as they’re normally not spicy, but it was a nice spice and not too overpowering (I guess these are brought in and not made on site?). I then had the Balti garlic achari (similar dish I’ve had before, everything else on the menu seems the same as other restaurants but I’m sure the chef(s) offer their own twist). Once again very impressed with this dish, started off having less than half to start off with as I noticed the pieces of chicken and lamb were quite big, but it was very moreish and had the rest of it! Could taste a few bits of pickle in it and the occasional chunk of garlic. Had a garlic naan bread as well, there’s some hint of sugar in it, which is annoying and unexpected. Overall, will be ordering again and hopefully visit to eat in. Highly recommended.

the curry itself was lovely... but the pakora's had too much batter and therefore meant they were soggy due to delivery. maybe cook pakora's in less batter and find a different way to contain them for delivery as the soggy batter was a put off. other than that it was delicious and would recommend all other food except the pakora's unless they change the way they cook and store them for delivery.

Meal was late but our street numbering may have confused the Delivery person. Meal was OK but nothing to write home about. Maybe I chose the wrong dishes.

It was New Year’s Eve so not overly surprised delivery took a long time. We had to chase order up twice though which was annoying, and just eat stated it had left restaurant when it hadn’t! Over phone we were told honestly it was waiting to be delivered and told it would be late and had a sincere apology - all good stuff even though we waited over 2 hours in total for food. I will take them up on the offer of looking after us next time though! My main judgement is in the food though - it was hot and delicious. It was actually worth the frustrating wait. Nom!

Be careful ordering from these they also run under the name essence of India, I placed an order with essence of India they didn’t accept my order so went on to order from these not knowing they are the same company they then phoned me to see if I wanted both orders from there self and essence of India because they are the same I then replied no to which they accept orders from both companies took half hour to accept the order from essence of India, charged me for both orders but only delivered one order I’m still waiting for my money back and took it to just eat to look into and still waiting a response !!

food excellent as always, never had such a late delivery ever, had to wait an extra 45 minutes !! so over 1 1/2 hours for delivery and one item wrong, no rice, didnt complain as had a microwave one in the cupboard and was hungry and food was so good

I paid £1 extra for 2 poppadums and didn’t receive them! The food wasn’t as good as the first time we ordered. Was only just warm and the Naan bread was hard. Disappointed really 😏

Decent prices, fair sized meals and very tasty. Speedy delivery too, actually delivered early! At a time most takeaways are struggling to keep up. Very happy 👍🏻 We will order from here again most certainly 👍🏻 The delivery driver also respected the contactless delivery and waited in the car for me to collect the food from my doorstep. 👌🏻 I think this takeaway has the same owners as Essence of India because that menu was delivered with the food and the addresses are next door to each other. So I’ll order from either now 😂

Best Indian Iv had for ages!! Food always lovely and hot. Very tasty and delivery always on time if not early.

Food was really nice as always, really disappointed with the delivery time, booked for 8 they said 8.10 then it turned up at 7 when we was not ready for it. If that happens again the food will not be excepted.

We have now eaten from here a few times and have not been disappointed. Definitely one of the best tasting Indian takeaways we have had.

Our food was 1 hour and 30 minutes late. Which in total was nearly a 3 hour wait !!!! Wouldn’t have minded but we called after 2 hours and they said it would be 15 mins but it was still another hour after that. It’s a shame as the food was nice but lukewarm ! By the time we were eating it it was cold. Would order again if it wasn’t for the wait time

Arrived 2 hours and 15 minutes after ordering, meaning it was nearly a hour late. Tried ringing the restaurant several times and got no response. Did express my concerns to the driver which he apologised, but it isn’t his fault so didn’t want to moan at him really! Disappointing really as food was very tasty and piping hot!

Enjoyed a terrific meal here last night with family. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive and professional, would highly recommend this outstanding restaurant.

We used to eat here regular under Red Peppers but standards started to slip, I am glad to say under Delhi Divan and under K;s guidance the refurb and standards are back up again, and you will always get a friendly welcome and good service, food is as good as anywhere else K will go out of his way to make sure you enjoy your meal. They have given up the alcohol licence but you are welcome to take your own drinks. We will certainly be going back

We had a new menu for the refurbished essence of india restaurant pushed through the letterbox. We decided to give them a try as it said 20% off takeaway orders for the grand opening and we ordered the food. When it arrived the driver asked for £20.15 and i questioned this as it should of come to about £15 with the discount, he was snappy and said it was what the receipt said and walked off. I phoned up and spoke to the manager and question why there was no discount when it stated on the menu, he said he would take this away next time, not that he would get the driver to bring back the money difference. When we eat our curry it was swimming in grease and oil and tasted like i was eating tinned tomatoes. Will not be ordering food from here again.

Re-opened yesterday under the name of Essence of India, decided to try as we had flyer posted through door this morning offering 20% off all takeaways until 10th Jan. On arrival delivery guy was adamant it was just over £20 - I'd worked it out to around £15 something with the discount. As hubby paid not realising this he rang back and complained. Guy on phone told us it was fine to pay what we had worked out.. great... except the driver had already gone. Promised us the difference would be applied to our next order but only time will tell if this will happen (and some may say it's a way of making us order from them again?) My Chicken Sag was nice and flavoursome, hubby's Veg Rogan however had no taste at all other than tinned tomatoes. Both were swimming in grease/oil. Considering it was their second night of their Grand Opening (granted its busy being NYE, and it arrived hot within 40mins when they warned it may take up to 90) its left us wishing we'd have stuck to our usual curry house at the other end of the high street.

The new Delhi Divan formerly Red Peppers under the same management has had a refurbishment and facelift - went in for the first time recently and the standard is the same but the decor is far better and there is now a licenced bar. We had excellent service and the staff are always helpful and welcoming - great that this restaurant is open again. Looking forward to going back again.

A family gathering in our home town got us in to the Delhi Divan -spacious clean and very helpful staff I ordered of the chefs specialities and honed in on the recommendation Apna Style Special - it was fantastic Will definitely return

Been coming here for years and it’s as good as ever. We all had different things and it was all fab. The chutney that came with the poppadoms was delicious

Worst curry I’ve ever had. We ordered from here we had a chicken balti which was tasteless, a cheese naan that had no cheese on and was paper thin. They are very stingy with the complimentary poppadoms and mint yogurt sauce didn’t even get half a pot of it and we ordered an extra 3 poppadoms because you only get 1 and still we only got a tiny bit of sauce , the chips I think are frozen I was expecting proper home made Indian chips but instead they where dry and rubbery. Will never eat here again.
