Red Lion Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery in Barnet

Really not worth the effort. Very poorly run and terrible service. The manager on shift was dressed unprofessionally and was of no help to us when we needed help with allergies. He seemed bored and was unwilling to help us, The food thankfully was edible if one enjoys standard average carvery.

Came in with a friend just few a few drinks. Staff were so kind and helpful and suggesting to us the deals they have on the cocktails and Prosecco. Brilliant experience overall

This is a lovely place for lunch/dinner the food is delicious and the staff are kind and friendly would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat in the area

Went to the stone house to meet friends. Good range of food on the menu plus the carvery and pizzas. Good prices and good service. Staff are friendly and always make everything is good.

We visited the Old Red Lion recently for a celebration , we had a lovely evening, The staff were attentive, friendly and provided good service.

We were looking to visit my dad but needed somewhere with good food and dog friendly for our 2 dogs! Found the red lion, they reserved us a table in the bar area as that was dog friendly. We were seated quickly and they explained to order at the bar and take our carvery ticket to the carvery counter when ready. The food was lovely, with pork, gammon, turkey and beef offered. The food was hot and very tasty. Was good value for money. My dad loved it too so we be back when we visit him next ❤️

Nice parking space at the back but the actual dinner was average. There wasnt anyone behind the bar when we arrived so we waited for drinks. The portion sizes were good for the price and the food was ok but i wont be returning.

Came for a roast on Christmas and was told no. Had to even leave and re enter before seen to. Could see many empty tables and was by myself. Think they should be more kind to the local community especially on the festive holiday. Had to get a box of fried chicken instead. Forgot why I don’t go in here since it changed from a toby carvery and now I remember why.

We visited for a family lunch, the staff were welcoming and friendly. The menu had a good selection. Our food was delicious and the carvery was lovely. It was a nice change to see lady chefs serving, who both had charming smiles. The staff were attentive and helpful with our needs.

We used to go regularly to the carvery but haven’t been for a while. The food is now absolutely awful. Nothing was hot including the Turkey which was completely dried out and looked like it had been brought out on a few occasions before. The two women behind us refused to have it and were told they’d have to wait half an hour for fresh meat. They were horrified at the standard of the food. When we told a member of staff nothing was hot we were told it could be put in the microwave!!!! The second time we complained to someone else they mumbled something but weren’t interested. The carvery used to be really popular but not surprisingly there was hardly anyone in the place. I can’t see see it surviving we will never go back..such a shame

A nice pub on Barnet High Street. We visited with our kids and had a meal, my husband had the carvery. Food was standard pub food, but hot and tasty. Service was quick and friendly. Good value for money.

I could have done better at 14, trying to follow a YouTube video. Gammon cut like beef (thin slices). Everything barely hot, child's Mac and cheese just pasta in cheese sauce... The carvery is excellent value. The service is good, but the quality of food is variable. It’s probably a matter of how busy the place is, so if the food has been out for a long time it can become dry. Also some of the vegetables are not as hot as they could be. But at less than £10 for a roast, who can complain?

Went for a Sunday roast and once again the meat ran out. The manager was rude when i complained. The kitchen supper closed so early we might as well have had a late lunch.

Small plates all tasted of dirty chip fat. Staff never came over to check if everything was OK. Drinks are cheap though. My advice drink plenty before ordering food.

Visited the red lion today for lunch with a friend. The service was wonderful, our server was Kay and she was lovely and added such a personal touch to a standard lunch date. Went for a meal and to watch the Football and have to say that it was a great experience, the roast dinners were on point and the staff were absolutely superb considering how busy they were. A very welcoming place and we will definitely be booking again.

We love coming to the Red Lion! Big shout out to Amanda who is always so friendly accommodating and helpful. She always goes the extra mile to make our experience as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. On this occasion, we had a fabulous family meal out taking advantage of the daily deal. Paula our waitress really looked after us and made our meal and experience that extra bit better. Food was great and such good value. Such a variety on both the main menu and kids menu. The chef at the carvery was friendly and generous in portions. See you soon!

Thank you so much to the manager and head chef of the restaurant for their gift of essential food this morning. I live in Sheltered Housing and the food was distributed to the most vulnerable and elderly people who were very grateful, once again thank you very much.

Came for a roast meal. We were very pleased with the service. Our waitress was ever present to provide whatever you need. My wife is hard to cook for since she has to special order for low salt. The chef nailed it perfectly. That was memorable.

This was absolutely the worst carvery I have ever had. we booked a table for 7 people at 5pm. on arrival we were told there would be no turkey until 6pm. Our elderly parents only eat turkey so that was the first problem. Four of us opted for beef but there was so much fat and gristle that it was inedible. I cut off all the fat from my own beef and put it on a serviette (see photo). The amount of fat from this one plate alone fill approximately the size of a saucer. One of us found a small piece of wood in the cauliflower on her plate.We called the manager over and complained about the amount of fat served up on our plates and he said that some people like the fat. If we liked it we wouldn't have complained. We didn't accept his explanation and after continuing to try to justify it, he eventually brought us 3 slices of gammon to share and provided 1free dessert. We showed him the piece of wood found in the cauliflower and he said, yes it's definitely wood, that's not good, someone might have thrown it in there. Then he walked away. He did not offer any apology nor did he offer any of us a discount on the terrible food wed received. We definitely wont ever eat there again.

Excellent take two buses from Winchmore Hill to get a carvery and its worth it. Just under a fiver for a roast dinner with unlimited veg! Can't beat that any where!

Amazing place. Such good choices on the menu and the prices are so reasonable. They also have some excellent daily special deals. I could not believe the low price for my meal. I had a small plate carvery and a glass of white wine for £4.99 !!!! My granddaughter had buy a pizza and get one free.

We went to the red lion for Christmas day dinner.we had to pre book.the restaurant was nicely decorated and we had a nice table..the staff where attentive and polite.our starters and pud where served by our waiter.we only had to go up for the carvery roast dinner.all the meals where nice,fresh and hot.the only gripe was that they where under staffed for a Christmas day special. The staff worked hard,but we where waiting ages between courses.would give it another go under normal conditions...

In the last year I've been eating here about once a week. Amazing carvery. wow! Always fresh, perfectly cooked, delicious and so much to choose from. 3 meats (turkey, honey glazed gammon, roast beef), Yorkshire pud, stuffing, wonderful roast potatoes, all the veg to choose from, gravy, cranberry sauce, apple sauce etc. Amazingly cheap too. Thank you staff for your friendly smiles and help. (Particularly a big thank you to the amazing chefs).

We had an amazing Sunday lunch there.. met a friend who had recently lost her husband and we settled down for a wonderful meal..my husband and I had the veggie roast and it was delicious.. the food was freshly cooked and couldn’t fault it..The restaurant was packed.. never seen so many people... as soon as one table went someone else was there..The staff were rushed off of their feet.. but coped so well and were there for all their customers with a smile..the day was well run and professionally handled.. Will definitely go again... We also love their breakfasts.. amazing value as well..

Very busy on Sunday lunch, have not seen this restaurant that busy from years, not wondering why... The food is absolutely delicious, the roast meat is very tasty and tender, the roast potatoes are cooked to perfection and the range of vegetables is perfect for this time of the year. Service is always friendly and professional, the restaurant is clean and welcoming, the experience we have here is memorable. Is nothing that I can think of do not like. My family love this place and definitely come back for Christmas.

This was the worst dining experience we have had for some time. From having to go to the noisy bar to order, having to collect food from the counter when ready and taking our own drinks and glasses to the table. The starters and pizzas were served at the same time, the Carvery was terrible the beef was tough and inedible, the potatoes and vegetables had obviously been out for a long time as they were dry and unappetising, the pizzas were soggy. Non of the staff had any interest in us and only came to take the plates away. Someone collecting for charity in the restaurant was very pushy and was insisting that we contributed. They should not be allowed to come to tables and embarrass you in front of guests! Easy to see why it was empty on Friday night - the system is not working and the food is not up to scratch.

Located on high street this restaurant is delivering a good quality meal on resonable price .Food is absolutely delicious and has a family we visit as often as we can and whenever we have guests we proudly take them there . Highly recommended , beautiful place , beautiful staff and beautiful food .

I have visited this venue numerous times and have noticed it gradually going downhill.

My daughter and I turned up without booking and were quickly directed to our table by a friendly young lady. The service from all staff members we encountered was great but the food is definitely what will make us return, fantastic game changer burger and mac&cheese; calzone , my daughter ordered potato wedges with her burger and they were delicious. We’ll be bringing the whole family next time.

Visited on Sunday for a roast and was great. Starting with the car wash for charity done by a simpatico lion , great greetings on arrival by manager and a very professional service. The roast meal was fabulous, very tasty, hot and fresh and the chef was very friendly especially with my little kids. Perfect place for a roast.

Delighted suburban restaurant situated in Barnet high street. Very popular during lunch time. Calamari and Brie bites were delicious and the burgers and Carvery seem to be extremely popular with diners as they were with us. Good ambiance with an elegant casual vibe. Great garden.

A chain style simple menu. You order at the bar and collect your meals from the buffet area. Salad bar ok but limited. The food was a good standard and tasty. Very reasonably priced, especially if you are with a group and want decent food, without breaking the bank. Free parking next to pub but make sure you enter your index number on the monitor in the bar. Staff friendly and hekoful. Chain style,interior clean.

Après un passage dans cette resto, on a trouvés la cuisine d'Angleterre, un vrai régal dans un cadre maqnifique. Ons a été habitué a la cusine méditerranéenne. Super accueil, les serveurs souriants, malgré le temp tres couvert et pluvieux. Bravo a tous! On reviendra avec plaisir.

From the moment we came in, been greeted friendly, showed our table straightaway, coming at the bar and place our order didn't bother me, got to see all drinks and deals they do. Food arrived quickly and is absolutely gorgeous. Tasty, fresh, reasonable size, excellent. Excellent experience ever visit.

The restaurant is centrally located with large dining areas within what was formerly a pub. The carvery was the best I have had in a very long time. Would recommend to anyone.
