Had a lovely time with my family all the meals were cooked to perfection even with all the swaps, the staff were ever so helpful and friendly

Opted for the 3 courses and it was all top notch. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Staff were super friendly and even boxed my desert to tale home.

The best 'old style' proper friendly pub in Kidlington. We went with our dog and we had the "Dream Team" looking after us: Chloe, with her super efficient and cheery service, Joel, friendly and attentive - he took care of Daisy, our dog with an instant water bowl! And not forgetting Jack the chef. Jack transformed my humble sausage and mash into a beautifully presented tasty dish. Loved the crisped-up onion topping! We'll be back! Bob Cove, Pia, and Daisy!

Went for after work drinks before going elsewhere to eat so can't comment on the food but the bar service was perfect. Faith was wonderful - a great advocate for the business. Parking is limited when they're busy but it is free which is great 😊

Visited here to celebrate a birthday with friends and family just before Christmas. The young lady behind the bar, Faith, was lovely! She made us feel welcome with her polite and friendly service. The atmosphere as a whole was good. Our group consisted of lots of different age groups and we all enjoyed our time there. I would definitely visit again and recommend to others 😊

Came in with a group of friends for food and drinks over Christmas. The staff were really friendly and Faith who looked after our table couldn’t do enough. The food was really good value for money and a wide range of beers available. Will be back soon

This is a very nice pub in the heart of Kidlington. The food was very tasty, but it did take a while to come (approx. 20 mins for the starter, and approx. 30 mins for the mains). The staff did offer their apologies, and it did not ruin what was a pleasant experience. There were plenty of tables inside with the facility to order food and drink via the app if you so wish. I would most certainly visit this pub again in the future!

We went yesterday for Christmas Dinner and it was amazing! The staff were really helpful, very efficient (how on earth they managed it when the pub was so busy I really don't know!) and the food was great! We paid £57 for Christmas lunch and it was huge - to be honest, there was probably a bit too much on the plate! The turkey was succulent and the gammon was tasty too. I had never been to this pub before as it was my mum who booked it, but, I'll certainly be going again! Thank you.

Came to the red lion for my sisters 18th,service was awesome and the food was incredible. Can’t fault any of the efforts made to make us feel welcome,Jack organised all of it for us and cooked the food. Excellent!

Food can be hit or miss however had the set lunch menu today Couldn't fault it. Very good presentation and value. Staff were also very attentive.

My first visit to this pub at the start of my journey north. Great value large breakfast for around £8 I think. Everything cooked as I like it. Staff very nice too. I will make this my regular stopping point for breakfast from now on

Whilt on our Oxford trip we visited twice. Once for a drink and once for lunch. Both times we enjoyed ourselves and felt that we had had a good time. The prices are reasonable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We especially like seeing the open fires but sadly couldn't get close as other customers had got there before us. We would visit again if it was closer but maybe one day.

Food not the best . Sunday roasts on the menu. When ordered had to have turkey as no chicken was available . Small portions and hard undercooked vegetables. Whole place smelt of damp .

A good local pub, staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is good. Regular live entertainment at the weekends. Drink selection is good and is at a pretty standard price for the area. Food is well priced and decent quality.

just like another user , totally blindsided by a parking fine for using the parking facilities that are literally intergrated into the grounds of the pub. there is no obvious partition. no obvious call to action regarding parking there. Generally 100% of other pubs i have attended dont have on site car parking facilities managed by a 3rd party. this is basically a scam set up by euro car parks where i am certain about 95% of attendeeds end up getting the fine. Red Lion you need to put a big sign saying car park isnt free or even a fence between this park and your pub as a matter of course of just complicit in this obvious scam

I booked a table for lunch with my 3 cousins. We received a warm welcome from Rebecca and Tamsin. After deciding what we wanted to eat and drink both Tamsin and Rebecca took our order, supplied us with water and glasses and were very friendly. The food arrived from the lunchtime menu and although the mains was on the small size the good size delicious pudding and at less than £10 for the 2 courses, there were definitely no complaints. With friendly and chatty staff, good tasty food at a reasonable price, we will be returning.

I am in a wheelchair and i absolutely love coming to this pub they treat me with very good repect and are very friendly and help in every way they can which i love and make me feel very welcome and the toilet facilities are brilliant too even when my club arranged to come here the Phab club they really enjoyed it so we are planning another visit soon. I truly love this pub i wouid definatly recommend it to others staff and atmosphere is great and i wish i could give more stars as it a excellent pub and and atmosphere

It’s been changed management a few times and had refurb on interior a few times, but still good. Service is good, and pub can be busy when football is on. For food I had the classic fish and chips which was good, warm and fresh. The drinks nice and cold. The interior was clean as well as the toilets. There is plenty of free parking - though you need to remember to enter your vehicle registration number on their tablet near the bar.

Stopped in for a quick Tuesday night bite to eat. Food was quick, and service was great. Nice atmosphere for a Tuesday evening. Definitely recommend.

Popped in en route home after trying some other local pubs. Ordered at the bar and we were greeted by a lovely member of staff named Rachel. I have coeliac disease and she went out of her way to make sure I knew what was available to me. She recommended the gammon and after perusing the menu we both decided on that and it was really good. Prices were reasonable and the food was good. Really pleased.
