Stayed in the caravan park. and had a few beers in the pub. A very nice site also very quiet which is a bonus. The site itself is located right next door to the East Kirkby museum which handy for a visit. The pub is very friendly and worth a beer or too didn't try the food but will do next time around. WE would come back again definitely

Enjoyed our stay here and value for money! Site well lit and toilet/shower facilities a stones throw away not to mention the fab pub, food which was tasty, prices really good especially in todays market and the staff were lovely! Just what we wanted as a not too far from home getaway. Bonus was the Air Museum just over the field which we booked tickets for on the 80th Anniversary of its being Monday. It did rain a fair bit during our stay but that's part and parcel of British weather unfortunately not to mention the wasps! But drainage was good. We had EHU also. Pitches identified with a number (which you are notified of in your confirmation email) and chained off, well maintained. We were right next to the children's play area, not ideal for us but we had our wind breaks, so for privacy put them around our entrance and it created an outdoor chill area ( in between the rain). The only downside the toilet / shower facilities could do with an overhaul, but it didnt detract from our great escape and you can't argue with the price 😊

Second time eating at this Red Lion, make sure you get the right pub as there are more than one with the same name in the area. Booked in advance as it is a popular pub and the meals are generous and good value. Gets booked up quickly. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful. Handy pub if visiting East Kirkby and Just Jane Lancaster as just a short walk along the road into the village. Interesting dining room with Lancaster memorabelia including Guy Gibson photos on the walls, a must see if visiting.

Spent 2 nights in our campervan at the 'Bomber Command' campsite at the red lion pub. Great place to stay for a chill out the site itself has good amenities with a decent shower and toilet block and is well lit in the evening with individual lights at each plot. We had a grass electric hook up plot which had plenty of room for an awning and the WiFi was excellent throughout. We paid £20 a night which I think was great value, might be more in the summer, we looked at a similar site that wanted extra for putting an awning up and for dogs! There is a small park in the centre of the site for kids and just behind the site is the Lincolnshire aviation heratige Centre. The pub serves excellent food and is reasonably priced with friendly welcoming staff, and if you need any supplies there is a little shop just across the road. All in all a fantastic family run site excellent for chilling out.

We booked in for a quick last minute two day break. We stayed in our motorhome on a hard standing pitch, which was level with its own water tap and 16A electric hook up. The campsite broadband was free and more than fast enough to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime etc. Our idea was to visit East Kirkby Aviation Museum followed by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight the day after. We did this and this campsite proved to be a really convenient base to do this from. We ate in the pub both nights. All our meals were brilliant both in terms of quality and quantity, providing excellent value for money. Arguably more importantly though, the beer was superb and very decently priced at around £3.20 a pint! The pub and campsite has a lovely atmosphere and the owners were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble even when I was making last minute changes to the booking. We will definitely return to this site in the near future.

Start with a positive, nice little campsite with generous pitches. Toilets as like most campsites there is never enough but it is what it is, fairly clean for a campsite. Negative, we booked a meal at the pub for the Saturday, some confusion over the time we arrived but appears we were late, chef passed some sarky comment about being late and having to keep the kitchen open, even the waitress said there was confusion, but fair play to the pub they did try and call but signal poor, starters came and were ok. Mains arrived , 2 steaks over cooked (steaks were replaced but the comment was they had a bland taste), pizza chewy, curry sauce was as if it had been re heated a few times and just thick and tasteless and the meat was chewy, full rack of ribs looked like it came from a small animal, lacked meat. Chips Luke warm. When we questioned the bill due to a disappointing meal, we were greeted with a defensive lady whose first words were “ So, what’s the problem” , when said what the problem was, we were then blamed for being late, understandable if it was pre ordered food. We asked for something off and we’re told that i am not giving you any discount but I could give you one drink each free because we re cooked some steak. It was a shame about the meal and the situation could have been handled a lot better, bit more professionalism, if I spoke to my customers how I felt we were spoken to i wouldn’t have a business. it is a shame as it is nice site/area but has left a bitter taste.

Also and separate away from waste there is clean fresh drinking water. We were well aware of the Wedding party on Friday and therefore booked for an evening meal on Saturday evening. A good meal and good value for money. All Mains @ 6.50 - all Desserts @ 3.50. No complaints. Our two dogs Cassie and Newton were allowed into the bar area- thank you. Tonight me and my glamorous dining companion visited the Red Lion Inn at East Kirkby. I understand that during the second world war the bomber crews from the nearby air base used the pub as their local. There is a large round table where some of the airmen carved their names into the wood before going on what perhaps could have been their last flight into the great unknown. Many original photos adorn the walls and it does not take a great deal of imagination to picture the pub in the 1940s along with its clientele.A separate dining room provides a very nice eating experience away from the hubbub of the bar. My discerning companion plumped for the traditional Saturday tea time staple, 2 sausage, 2eggs, chips and beans. A very generous portion for the sum of £3.50! I chose the steak with chips, peas, mushrooms and onion rings. Grilled tomatoes were also provided which were not stated on the menu. Again another large portion, with a very nice large medium rare steak, just the way I like it for £7.99, exceptional value. There was also a good range of beers including real ales just like the airmen of WW2 would have sampled, the only difference that today. rationing has definitely been banished to the history books.Located just up the road from the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, would make a great day out to combine the two! I shall definitely be visiting the Red Lion again. I do not live all that far away, so I am sure it will be very soon.

We ate here every night as we were staying at The Chapel House B & B - less that 30 seconds walk away. As soon as we walked in on our first night we were made to feel welcome, and the landlord was quite a character! Plenty of friendly banter between us, with lots of laughter. The food is basic and honest home-cooked pub grub. Very reasonable prices but huge portions. I don't think we quite finished any of the meals, but it wasn't for the want of trying! We ended up staying until virtually closing time each night, and it was great to look around the local squadron memorabilia they have. There is even a round table where the crews used to scratch their names before heading off on ops.The landlord has plenty of ghostly tales to tell, although sometimes I wasn't sure if he was joking or being serious, but certainly somewhere I would go back to - for drinks and food as well as the friendly conversation. The pub does look a little tired around the edges in places, but the landlord is in the process of building it all back up again so i'm sure things will get a coat of paint etc where needed.NOTE - Not to be mistaken for The Red Lion in Revesby - that's also just up the road too.

As the other reviewer stated, its simply a village pub. We popped in for one drink and two hours later........Nothing fancy here at all, and that's what a village pub should be. Good ale and budget priced good food. Don't visit this pub if you don't like joining in the conversation. If however you do......

I am/We are quite regular visitors here the food is great -very well prepared and served, with large quantities. They have a large selection of wines to go with all meals (Mmmm)The prices are very fair especially as the meals are a good size.

Family run pub with home made food, friendly staff, friendly patrons and great value for money. Try to visit regularly but as its a bit out of our way we always try and time it with a visit to family. Weekend karaoke is a great laugh with even the owner getting up to sing, the regulars are there to belt out their favourites and do requests. There is 2 pool tables for those who dont fancy staying in front of the warm log fire on the long winter nights. Food is such great value for money you cannot go wrong with eating here, awarded a 5 star rating for hygiene you know your in good hands. Varied menu that the owner does wonders with and some great home made puddings on offer too for only £1.99. Drinks are very reasonably priced at £3 a pint and £1 a can of soft drink. Burger chips and peas is only £3.50 and sunday dinner is priced at £5.50. The most expensive meal is only £7.99 which i think is for steak. Great history to the place with the owners having original pictures and stories up on the walls. The pub even has its own land out the back for those on their caravanning holidays looking for a great place to pitch and eat while visiting some of the local attractions. As i say it is out of our way for a local pub being more than 20 miles away but its worth the trip.

On a recent trip to the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre to see the 3 Lancaster Bombers, we passed the Red Lion pub and saw they were advertising home cooked food, as it was lunchtime we thought it would be rude not to go in and sample a Sunday lunch. The lunches were a very reasonable price of £5.50 and there was a choice of chicken, pork, lamb or beef.I chose the beef which came with home-made stuffing, Yorkshire puddings, peas and home-made gravy.Everything served was delicious, the roast potatoes were perfect and you could tell that they were fresh and not frozen, the yorkies were home-made.Looking around at the other diners there was not a morsel left on any of the plates and our table was no exception.Well worth the price paid, if I'm in the area again I would not hesitate to return.

We visited here for breakfast after a very busy morning packing up our tent to go home after a stay at a nearby campsite (extra points for being dog friendly!). All very hungry there were plenty of options to choose from and even the option to build your own breakfast which was great for my daughter who wouldn’t eat a full breakfast but would still like certain items! The staff were lovely, the service was quick and the food was delicious! Extra shoutout to the iced latte and the big buts breakfast. It was amazing! We will definitely be returning when we are back in Anderby. Thank you!

Spotted from the car park and decided to stop for a coffee. There was some seating outside so perfect for anyone with dogs. It was a beautiful spring day so we also decided to have some cakes and a cheese scone. I have to say the cakes were fab and the cheese scone was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

If you like your Sunday lunch pilled high, this the place for you. The plate was packed with a wonderful hot Turkey lunch. Great puds too.

After having had a fantastic experience here midweek during the summer, we promised ourselves we would be back for Sunday dinner. We booked by email, which was confirmed within minutes, Howe when we arrived there was no record of the booking. I was able to find the confirmation email. We were told that we could be accommodated but it would have to be in the bar area as there were 3 other bookings which already had restaurant tables reserved. We were advised to pick a table and they would set it up for us. We showed them where we would like to sit and waited for someone to bring some seating to the table. After 10 minutes we were still standing so found a different table which had seats in place. (We had already informed them that my husband was recovering from a broken ankle) Eventually the waitress came and gave us cutlery and placemats but no salt and pepper. She took our meat orders and I asked whether the veg would include cauliflower cheese, as I would like to not have it, as I have an allergy/intolerance. We waited a further half an hour for our meals, which came with the vegetables served on a tray, including the cauliflower cheese. There was only one spoon which was resting in the cheese sauce so I had to request another one. I then dished myself up a spoonful of swede/carrot mash and one broccoli floret. I did try to dish up some cabbage but found that when lifted from the plate, the cabbage came out from under the cauliflower cheese and covered in the sauce, so I had to not have cabbage. After the meal, the waitress came to clear the table. She dropped some vegetables on the tablecloth and asked if we wanted puddings to which I responded yes. After waiting for 38 minutes with no sign of the waitress to clean the table or take our pudding order, we decided to leave. On taking our payment the bar staff asked if everything had been ok, so I mentioned the above. He simply said, ‘sorry about that ‘but the mains were ok?’ I chose not to continue with the conversation, as my husband had overheard the barman say that he was going to rip someone’s head off. We are really disappointed as we had been telling everyone about how good our experience in the summer was. To top it all, there was a very large dog in the area which smelled strongly and a group of young children also came and used the pool table right next to us, despite there being a notice advising that nobody under 16 was allowed to use it. Another customer did point it out but was ignored. One or two little things we could have overlooked/forgiven but unfortunately there were too many today and we won’t be back
