Reads in Swale

Thought this place was going to close, but it didn’t. As good as our last visit a while ago. Food from the garden and an excellent team means another visit in the near future. A nice oasis. ****Unfortunately now closed. Owners have retired.

Such a shame that Reads is closing it's doors - such a fantastic restaurant, with excellent service and wine list. Hugely enjoyable...

Tentative service from the staff, but the food....OMG the food is amazing. My 1st visit there, a beautiful house with fantastic food that's on another level.

A return visit after 20 years and not a disappointment! Beautiful, huge bedroom (Willow) and superb food and service at both dinner and breakfast. We wish the owners well in their retirement - well deserved.

This really is a 'proper' restaurant - quality food and service. Not cheap but if you want to sample the best, you understandably have to pay for it 🤔 A truly excellent dining experience 💯

We have just been to Reads the room was lovely but the only down side for us was no tea facilities in the room they have a pantry where you can make tea,etc but this is not possible when you wake up in the morning other than this small problem the hotel was really nice and the food was excellent. The staff were very professional and friendly Would recommend this to anyone.

This is just a lovely place for that special treat.

Wonderful attention, personal and friendly service. My wife and I enjoyed the lovely "tasting menu" accompanied with a good selection of wines. Our room was very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Good food, perfect service a very special place.

Really impressed with this restaurant. The food was fantastic and the tasting menu really good value for money considering the quality and little extra touches. The staff were so welcoming and thoughtful; I had sprained my ankle the day before and they found me a stool to raise my leg and made sure I was comfortable. I loved the dining room with the cosy, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend, we'll definitely be back.

First time going there for 20 years and was thoroughly impressed. The service is impeccable, they take your every need and request into account. The food was amazing, we had the tasting menu with the accompanying wine. Would definitely return again.

Very calm and welcoming staff and a lovely environment. The food was beautifully prepared and wholesome. I enjoyed the deserts more than I usually do when I'm out. The wine was perfect.

Highly recommend this place. Was gifted a lunch here for our 25th and a year later we managed to find time to visit. So glad we did. Beautiful surroundings. Quiet inside. Staff were so polite and friendly and the food was fresh and extremely delicious. For what you receive I would say its worth paying that little bit extra. Will be back for sure.
