Ravenstone Manor Hotel in Allerdale

We had the most wonderful and cosy stay here at the beginning of January with our Golden Retriever. The hotel is super dog friendly and you wouldn’t even think that any dogs had been here. There’s an excellent warm water dog bath outside to give those muddy paws are warm soak after a long walk. Each morning our dog had a cheeky sausage from the kitchen as we ate our breakfast. The staff were amazing and friendly, even upgraded our room to one overlooking the lake (as the hotel was a little quiet). Great selection of drinks and the food was incredible. Different lounge areas to find some peace and tranquility whilst looking out of the windows to the amazing views and sunsets. It was so good that we’re heading over this week for another break. Can’t wait to get there and relax!!

Lovely little hotel with superb staff, great food and cosy rooms. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff, the quality of the food each evening has been brilliant and standards of cleanliness spot on. Our bathroom was a little tired but I couldn't bring myself to deduct a star for that as everything else has been lovely - and dog friendly too. Altogether a wonderful stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return - thank you.

The Corby Blonde ale here is top notch.

We just return form our weekend stay at this hotel, place it dog friendly, dog feel welcome in any part of hotel , staff very professional and helpful. Food was amazing, we would definitely return to this place . Highly recommended

We came for our 40th wedding Anniversary,we found that the staff couldn’t do enough for us in every way possible,the food was excellent & would highly recommend this place it’s very dog friendly

We ate at the restaurant as a non resident. It was the best meal we had in the lakes. Everything very well prepared and good produce, we will be returning. Service was also very good.

We have just enjoyed an amazing three night stay and what a gem of a hotel we chose. No additional charge for our 2 dogs which is excellent value for money and it truly is dog friendly. There were jars of dog treats in the lounge area. Both breakfast and evening meals were absolutely delicious with a great choice although we did not see the chef a well deserved 5 stars. We had excellent customer service and a big shout out for Sam who was witty friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend this hotel on every level and for dog owners especially as we were all made to feel very welcome.

We had a wonderful three night break at this hotel this week. Part business and part pleasure. The staff, hotel, food and location certainly made it more memorable for pleasure. Our cockapoo Fergus was treated like royalty and because of his medication needing to be hidden in tasty food he was given sausages and ham morning and night. The food is delicious. The hotel is cosy, comfortable, relaxed and quality with lovely historic detail. The location is beautiful. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. There is a walk directly behind the hotel which can take you up Skiddaw. Dodd woods (a few yards from the hotel) offer fantastic walking trails for varying abilities . However, what made our stay particularly memorable and relaxing were the hotel team. Everyone was friendly, helpful and went and beyond to make our stay perfect. Sorry to those of you that I didn’t get your name. But Alison, Nicky and Sam were absolute stars. Thank you all. We will be back soon.

Stayed for a couple of nights.From the staff to the food and accommodation I could not fault any of it. Planning to go back in October.

Perfect location, food and service. Polite staff. Hotel is literally in the beginning of the trail for Skiddaw peak and Dodd as well as others.

We, a larger group with two dogs, had a very nice stay. The dogs were able to accompany us everywhere. We will definitely be back. :-)

Hi Hotel Management I’ve had a terrible experience at the hotel due to the following: - Pork Belly was very dry and returned to the Chef - Asked for white vinegar and the waiter was extremely rude - The heating in room 15 broke twice and hasn’t been fixed - The bar staff was extremely rude and made the evening unbearable - My birthday evening was completely ruined. - The bar closed at 21.30 and it was advertised to close at 10pm - The owner called the police due to the complaint and six police officers showed up - Please send contact of your legal representative or attorney I want a full refund Kind regards, Bradley Newton

Beautiful manor with classic wood finish and breath taking views. In the peak of winter I was privileged to perch up next to the fire and indulge is some perfectly cooked Green Thai mussels. The food was a big portion and well worth the value. The menu is delivering what it promises and the staff are so friendly I feel like a guest in someone's house - one which was invited in😉 All and all will be coming back for a break away from the grind and turn down the volume🙌

Absolutely love staying here. Extremely dog friendly. Rooms lovely, Food excellent. Staff excellent . We always go away feeling spoilt and extremely chilled.

A fabulous hotel in a stunning location. Particularly good if you have dogs. Spacious restaurant and bar for your dogs to settle down. Great food and wonderful service.

Had a fantastic break. It's always difficult finding a completely dog friendly hotel but that's exactly what this great hotel is. The Staff were all so friendly and welcoming and are such an asset to the hotel. Food was amazing and highly recommended if you visit to eat here.

We have just stayed for three nights. The staff are so friendly, the food was wonderful. The log fires we're so cosy Feel really rested. Will definitely come again.

This place is absolutely amazing. We came here for a birthday trip and I would not hesitate to return. It is VERY dog friendly so if you do not like dogs it may not be the best place. Outside is a dog washing sink which has warm water to wash off muddy paws. On the entrance there are fresh clean dog towels every morning which is fantastic. They will even offer dog beds and bowls if you require them. Every single staff member we came across was so friendly and gave a lot of attention to the dog. The room was small but comfortable. We did ask for a thinner quilt as the one we had was too thick and they were more than happy to accommodate. The lovely lounge area overlooking the scenic view is so peaceful. They have a beautiful lit fire in the evenings and lots of drinks on offer. The breakfast included is absolutely amazing. The continental selection is minimal but the cooked breakfast was fantastic. The options were amendable and they did as much as they could to accommodate you. They even brought a sausage cut up for the dog ! I genuinely think this place is fantastic and i will definitely return. Thank you ravenstone manor for a lovely birthday trip !

Lovely relaxed, welcoming, and warm atmosphere. Nothing too much trouble. Staff, food, hotel, location, all lovely.

This was our second time visiting Ravenstone Manor with our boy Reggie and we have left just as pleased as the first time we visited. The hotel is so dog friendly, you might expect it to smell a little "doggy" but it absolutely doesn't. It is very much a country hotel with lots of little touches such as dog towels, a dog bath, games in the lounge and dog biscuits at the ready! We had dinner in the restaurant for both nights and I can highly recommend the Ham Hock and Garlic prawns starters. The Chicken Supreme, Steak and Ale pie (which had the most amount of meat in a pie we have ever seen), the Pan seared Duck breast with grilled plums, and the Chicken Tikka were all immense. Plus you have to try a Garlic Rose! The chef was also kind enough to do a dish that wasn't on the menu on our request which was at the sister hotel opposite. The sticky toffee pudding is also to die for! Dodd Woods is next to the hotel which was lovely to take the dog to stretch his legs. Thankyou Alison and Team, we will be back again in the future for more

Fabulous place with stunning views over Bassenthwaite to the west. Delicious cooked breakfast with plenty of options available, as well as buffet etc. Evening food was good too - they do a curry of the day to add to a good range of standard options. Staff were lovely and friendly. This place is a great find.

Can't praise highly enough, return visit

Great place to pop into for a couple of beers after a day walking. Lovely atmosphere, proffessional staff and decent prices for the area. Keswick itself is rather over priced.. IMO

You can not go wrong with the Lake District, beautiful location, everything else similar to other places. Doesn't stand out. The usual limited menu served in most of these place. Rooms can do with an upgrade. Nice bar and seating area.

We had a wonderful experience this weekend. The rooms are beautiful - we even had two red squirrels feeding on the bird feeders outside our room. The food is top notch and the staff are all excellent. There is a superb walk to Dodd Fell direct from the hotel which is well worth doing. Can’t wait to return.

Nothing but good things to say about Ravenstone Manor, room 9 was very large, very comfy bed, walk in shower plus a bath, evening meal was spot on, lovely breakfast, staff friendly, bar and lounge lovely room with a view plus the snug with open fire, all dog friendly, Belfast sink to rinse dogs off, designated poo bin, really is dog friendly. Hotel in great location so well worthy of full marks. My only criticism was ripping my puffa jacket on the rose bushes as I got my bags out of the boot ( so beware )
