Love their apple Danish!!! Very helpful waitress and they sort out light meals. Closes far too early and they make sure customers leave before 3pm as they clean before they shut. Very good coffee!

My daughter Emma used this bakery (again) for my delicious sewing themed 70th birthday cake. Absolutely amazing. You are so talented.

We enjoyed a freshly prepared lunchtime snack here - I had the quiche and salad which I thought was a nice light choice - the slice of warm quiche was more than generous and tea was full flavoured. Pleasant people and reasonable prices too. Recommended.

We came here for a light lunch and were quickly given the menu. There is a good selection of sandwiches, toasties and light meals. The food came quickly but, for me, didn’t have much taste, no lemon for the salmon and generally not seasoned enough. We tried the cakes but found the pastry very hard and the icing not to our taste. Maybe we were unlucky but we were disappointed.

I can only comment on Ravens the bakery, I ordered in advance 2 special sponge cakes, one lemon and one chocolate for a birthday and one for a golden wedding. While waiting to collect at around midday I noticed an array of tasty looking sandwiches and some delicious looking pastries and cakes. The “sit down” area was busy, the service good and the area was lovely and cool on a very warm day. A very kind assistant helped me carry the cakes to my car. Good service and as it turned out very good cakes!

Can often be rude at times , possibly owner or manager ! Slow on serving in cafe and bakery , even when quite . Cakes taken out of the window , dry and possibly a day old ,. When cakes are placed in paper bag , icing comes off !! Bread may only last a day before being dry !

Love this bakery, my family can’t get enough of the chia bread and the cakes are fabulous. Make sure you get there early for the artisan breads as they sell out quickly.

Having grown up in Ingatestone since birth certain childhood memories never leave you, the aroma of freshly baked bread being one of them, dig a hole in the end and the warm fluffy centre is like nectar, forget the supermarket plastic loafs, years of knowledge, experience and quality product any time for me, ok a little pricey maybe but well worth it A cheeky little cake or iced bun as a morning treat I'll take all day long over a biscuit Keep it going support the High Street, maybe a trip over the road for some smoked bacon if you want to taste heaven

Dear Trip Advisor, please can we have a GOOD category, since this cafe/bakery is deserves better than an 'average' but isn't quite VERY good... We stopped here for Breakfast over Easter. There are a limited number of tables so we waited for a few minutes. Our table was quickly cleared but our waitress was a bit stressed and I ended up wearing the contents of a milk jug...accidents happen. We ordered sourdough toast and poached eggs - very nice. Coffee was good too. As it was Easter, we bought some hot cross buns to take away. They were excellent. We returned the following day for more!

Ravens Bakery, Ingatestone, Essex It’s just over four months since we were last in the Ravens Bakery – the last time we’d been in the neighbourhood - checking on some goods that we’ve stored nearby. We did exactly the same this time round too – took a ride into Ingatestone to take coffee & brioche at the Ravens Bakery before our appointment at 09.30. The Bakery was much as we had found it last time – good coffee & brioche, comfortable setting & friendly people. There’s always this thing about a café attached to a country bakery – you find all those traditional breads, cakes and services with which you remember from, well, too many years back. Did our evaluation of the Ravens Bakery change from earlier? Well, no. Key features remain much the same, with that lack of edge that would shift the evaluation from ‘good’ to ‘very good’. (TripAdvisor, of course, does not have a ‘good’ category.) Enter the shop/café and the two sections are on either side of the main door; shop to the left and café/sit-down-area to the right. You can order at the counter – queueing with the shoppers or take a seat and the waitress will eventually find you. There is seating for a dozen people. People waiting to shop sometimes also sit in the café … waiting. We were told to take our seats, but couldn’t be certain of where to sit … most tables had neither been cleared nor had they been wiped down (if they had been cleared). The waitress apologized for not having wiped our table when she took our order. She returned and wiped the table, but others remained un-serviced. Hmmm. There were three waitresses providing services. We ordered cappuccino, caffe latte, croissant/butter/jam & apple doughnut. When the brioche arrived the croissant looked the better option and we changed our order to two croissants. The coffee was good – hot, tasty and full to the brim (in china cups). We weren’t sure which coffee was which, however, having failed to ask the waitress – they looked and tasted the same. Taking a natural break at the toilet out back – you pass through the kitchen/utility room and the open-garden seating area (dozen seats). You’d be challenged to sit out there in late September too. The toilet was clean and well-serviced. The only failing – the door would not shut/lock - it had warped. You’d be sitting there, perhaps enjoying five minutes, when the next client would yank it open and say ‘hello’. Hmmm. Prices were good – GB£2.50 each for the coffees and GB£1.25 for the croissants – GB£7.50. We enjoyed our 20 minutes breakfast at a table adjacent to the far wall. A great breakfast/morning break sort of place then, with some TLC required around the edges. Peter Steele 06 October 2017

Peter Steele06 junio 2107
