Expensive chip shop. Very poor quality chips, use old potatoes very rank. Cheap sausages, just poorly cheap quality, but very expensive.

We wanted a local wedding using local businesses. We ordered meals for all of our guests (sit down at 4pm and pizza for the evening). Every single meal was correct - every single thing! You just think how difficult that is - and every meal was hot. I would highly recommend Raunds Fish bar for weddings - it was something different and absolutely everyone enjoyed their food and thought it was a quirky thing to do - and it worked. The pizza at night was amazing. Thank you so much for your hard work on our wedding day. I had no worries about anything going wrong as you made us confident that you could deal with a large order - anyone thinking about having this for your wedding- do it- it was excellent. Lots of guests talked about it and said what a great idea it was. Well done for winning best take away in Northamptonshire again!

I go to Raunds Fish Bar at lease once a month and I can safely say that they're the best chippy in Northamptonshire (and I've tried many). Fantastic service, healthy portion sizes and fantastic non-greasy food. A must visit!

Portion size ,small , ordered large fish and large chips ,very small ,over£13 . Why can't you cook cheaper cuts of fish ,what a rip of .egg and chips next week!!!

Horrible disgusting food! What a waste of money. We all had dry chips, fish was mediocre. Expensive and awful taste. I’ve moved here from Hertfordshire so I’m used to good quality fish and chips. Will never eat here again and do not recommend!! Can’t believe it was busy 🙈

The pizza is incredible. So hot and doughy, with loads of toppings. The chips are always fresh, and the kebabs are always over-flowing. We love it!

Raunds fish bar are the best chippy in northants. They serve amazing food for a good price. Have been eating with them for years and they've always stood out from the rest.

I haven't been to this chipshop for nearly 15 years as I moved town. I was in here every weekend when i lived in raunds and loved it i never had a bad dinner . I returned for a visit and it still has Steve running a steady ship and didn't disappoint! great chip butty and always made welcome great job guys 👍 see you in another 15 years lol hopefully

Great fish, like all fish and chip shops prices have increased but unlike others quality has been kept high. Friendly helpful staff and great tasting fish and chips.

Food was really good. It was a big order for 9 people, so we looked on line at the menu to work out what we wanted and what the cost would be. When we went to fish shop we had worked it out to be £35 it came to £53 . Nearly £20 mark up, when I joked to my daughter her maths needed sorting out the girl said the website prices hadn't been up dated. This really needs updating the fish was £3 more expensive the it said on the online menu.

Went here once and wouldn’t come back the food was soggy and gave my little girl an upset stomach she’s normally fine with food from the fish and chop shop down the road

Visited this place for the second time recently and both times have had the best fish (and chips), that we’ve had for years. Light, thin crispy batter, not greasy at all and no skin on the lovely white fish. Plenty of chips, not at all greasy either, just lovely. My friend has moved into the area and recommended using this place and we weren’t disappointed. Great attentive service from the young staff too, well done Will definitely be back

FANTASTIC!! At the recent Transport Festival, we were very kindly brought a selection of goodies from Raunds Fish Bar, Cod bites, Mozzarella Balls and chips to die for. The Beat Route Radio team ate well that day! Thank you for the great food, really appreciated it.

You are missing out if you haven't tried Steve's cheesy balls. Tasty, cripsy and they melt in your mouth. £2 for 5, also they make amazing freshly prepared pizza, as well as great fish and chips. They are Northamptonshire"s Top Takeaway 2022.

Used to be very good for kebabs but hadn’t used for a while, 1 very surly (blond) girl who ignored customers, eventually one of the other pleasant ones came and took order. Lamb Donna Ok, chicken was awful, asked for touch of chilli sauce, turned out to be bin-ends smothered in chilli. Wife left most of it, won’t be coming back to them again.

We were passing through in our motorhome and decided to get fish and chips, when we started eating them we were very disappointed, the batter on the fish was horrid and the fish still had the skin on, who in there right mind leaves the skin on, plus the oil used stank! we ordered a tub of curry and that to was awful, just like dish water, sorry we ever stopped and was a complete waste of money.

Decided to try the fish and chips on our way home from Raunds. Very tasty gluten free batter on fish, and plenty of chips.

A huge thank you to Steve who made to order some fresh pizzas for a family party we were having. They were delicious and we ordered several toppings, all very good and our family were full of praise. We usually enjoy the fish and chips but were equally impressed with the fresh pizzas for a nice change. Staff are always friendly and we are very pleased to use the Raunds Fish Bar as our regular takeaway.

Long wait. Food cooked in batches which meant we had to wait longer. So cold by the time we left and got home. Wait could have been avoided if they had picked up their phone so we could order in advance.

It’s been way too long since we had a chippy, and I forgot how delicious it was. Thankfully I didn’t forget the best place to get it from. Beautiful fresh cod, perfectly cooked and not greasy and chips were delicious too. Thank-you!

Been using this Raunds fish bar over 20years and never fails to impress. The only problem is do you have cod and chips.. but the kebabs are amazing. Then it gets confusing because the pizzas are awesome.... Its unusual for a chippy that does so much to be so so good.

I visited Raunds fish bar last week and I must say from Start to finish the service was brilliant, from their queue system to the final transaction it was seamless. Steve the owner always makes conversation whilst the shop is so busy I don’t know how he does it but always have a friendly welcome. When I got home the chips were still hot and the fish was just like you get my the seaside fresh as anything! Raunds fish bar you delivered once again, thank you and see you next week!

Tried this a few times Over the years and only writing this in the hope they listen. Loads of staff with people shouting over each other for other orders and customers and they rush you through the whole process. All of this means most of the food is sitting there waiting so not the best and they do miss things. This time was a first for me in that the girl didn’t ask if I wanted salt and vinegar.

Ordered a cod, three sausages, one large and one small chips and a curry sauce over the phone. Had been before and was returning specifically as the curry sauce was so nice. Was given a time to pick up food. Arrived home and there was no curry sauce and the cod hardly had any meat inside the batter and what there was was very dry. Very disappointed as had heard good things and last visit was nice. Will go somewhere else from now on.

I was able to have my dietary needs met by the owner who made sure I was catered for. The food was delicious and my daughter gave it 11/10! Will definitely use again.

Ordered over the phone for collection at a certain time, collected the food and paid in the shop. All the ladies were wearing masks and gloves. Bought food home, plated it up (we’re about 20 mins drive away), put it in oven to keep warm while we had drinks in garden. Cod n chips were fab, also curry sauce and peas!!! We will be back! Our local village held a Quiz night in the village hall at the weekend and we ordered a hundred meals from Steve and his team at Raunds Fish Bar. All the meals were ready to collect at the time requested, all were correctly marked, they were conveniently boxed up and the staff assisted loading them into the car, even though it was raining and the fish bar was very busy. All the people at the quiz enjoyed the food; the fish was particularly nice. Well done to Steve and his helpful friendly team. Oour village will be using you again.

Ordered take away from this fish bar for the first time last week, visited at 9pm on a Thursday evening, it was busy and the staff were stretched, but polite and helpful. Waited a while for our food about 20 minutes (nothing out of the ordinary ordered or of a big volume) Food was ok - I would eat here again.

Like many others , we travel a few miles past other options to use the Raunds fish bar. Always ring the order through because they are busy , and bar none the best chips around with an exceptional value large portion. Highly recommend

Best chip shop around we don’t live in raunds but go to it because the food is great I’ve been going her ever since I was little with my grandparents and mum and dad to now going to it with my own family they make the best kebabs nothing is a problem I have my pizza a certain way with ketchup and is never a problem the staff are so friendly and remember who u are defiantly recommend people to go here if u don’t then u are missing out on some great food

We travel to raunds fish bar 30 minutes each way every couple of weeks just to have fish and chips!! We are always greeted with a walm welcome from Steve the owner, the food is always consistently fresh. They say travel to the seaside to get good fish and chips, absolutely not the case. Title says it all. Not the best customer service, overpriced and small portion sizes left us disappointed and still hungry, ended up going to another chipshop. What little you do get wasn't bad tasting but personally we wouldn't recommend.

Lived in a fishing village for 18 years of my life so would class myself as a bit of an expert on Fish and Chips. This place is fantastic, properly cooked fish and great chips. Its always busy but plenty of staff to ensure your orders are made up quickly. There is a reason its number 1... its excellent.... worth travelling to.

Only went in there because Kevin’s fish shop was closed . And sorry to say what a waste of money as most of it went in the dustbin. Chips was warm and little bits of potatoe . The piece of cod looked like a large sausage in batter so went for the haddock for the wife . I just had chips has nothing looked fresh.

My wife and I decided to call in on the way back home and get some fish and chips. My wife decided to have a steak pie whilst I went for the cod and a large portion of chips. The meal was excellent it was hot even after the drive home, the cod was large and perfectly cooked. The chips were excellent and my wife enjoyed her steak pie and chips. All in all it was a lovely meal that I will have no hesitation in repeating in the future.

I went early on a Friday, so not much of a queue, everything cooked quite fresh. I had cod and a small chips, which were there loads of but they were not the tastiest chips I have ever had, and the haddock looked like better value. Parking was available in the square as it was early in the evening. I would go again to try something different, or if I had a few people to buy for, as they are quite generous with portions

Fantastic chippy, everything is great. They do a great pizza deal for about £9, chips are excellent, fish is excellent in fact it's all excellent. Very friendly staff always happy to help and make you feel very welcome. As for parking, ok it's on a corner, but park down the road and walk, there is ample parking less than a minutes walk away!!!

Fish & Chip side is perfect, however some basic Inviromental Health Training is required on the Pizza prep area.

We usually visit this Fish and Chip shop after walking the dogs at Stanwick lakes and have on all previous occasions struggled to park so either my wife or i has to pull over and let the other one out.....as for the important stuff,we have had various dishes from here,i admit i was not keen on their kebabs however the Fish and Chips were excellent,good light batter and chips that were not soggy....i recently had a steak and kidney pie which gladly unlike other chip shops we have visited,was not beaten senseless by a microwave technician.We have had on at least 4 occasions had to wait quite a while which is a sign of how good they are.Without doubt one of the better ones in the whole area.

Has been my regular chip shop for the past 25 years. Still run by the same family to the same high standards.
