Best chip shop in the whole county! I refuse to get from anywhere else!

Always freshly cooked and delicious plenty to choose from, staff are always very helpful

Lovely fish and chips! We travel quite far to go here and it will be our only place to go for fish and chips from now on. Super friendly service, good menu, pizza and kebabs are also really good.

I’m 52 years old and have had fish and chips many times during my life. I used to live in London and would use a very highly rated fish and chip shop visited by celebrities. I can honestly say, hands down, Peter’s Fish Bar has got to be one of the best fish and chip shops in the country. The chips are absolutely sensational. Really delicious. The fish is freshly cooked to order and has a lovely crispy batter. We don’t get take aways very often but have used Peter’s Fish Bar around ten to fifteen times in the last five years. The food has always been consistently fantastic. We have several far closer fish and chip shops but go out of our way because the food is so good.

Great food lovely staff But let’s it down massively no card machine in 2023? Next door do cash back but charge £1. Shame rate this place as well

Fish and chips were freshly cooked but driving away with the food in the provided bag an unpleasant smell permeated the car. When we started eating it was obvious that whatever the fish and chips had been fried in was rancid and most of the meal was binned. There are better fish and chip shops in nearby Thrapston and we will use those in future.

Worst ever Fish I have tasted, bone dry inside the batter, must have come out of the fryer hours before. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after a previous poor experience but never, ever again.

First time visit as our usual was shut, but won't be our last. Tasty haddock, chips perfectly cooked and the curry sauce was spot on.

First time I'd been in a while and it was awful

Best chips in Northamptonshire. Well worth travelling for. Prices aren’t high. Kids got a lolly and theres a couple of nice parks there to eat them in if you get open.

My son lives a few doors away from Pete’s. We often use the shop when in the area. Good service , good value and always great product. Only downside is that my son lives too close and it’s just too easy to pop up the road and over indulge.

Revised for 2020 sadly a star lower as it has become hit and miss. Always friendly , chips are good, fish is usually good . Donner meat is good and sausages are typical fish shop type. Could be improved with better chips, fresh homemade fishcakes and choices of fish.

Some of the best fish & chips I've ever had! Great fish & chip shop in Ringstead frying in beef dripping for a brilliant taste and really good well-done chips. At the moment it is order by phone, then collect from the shop and they seem to be working on cash only, which is a bit unusual at the moment. We had to scrabble around a bit between us to find enough, having used plastic almost exclusively during lockdown. Worthy of 5 stars, anyway! We had a good fish & chip supper at my son's house in Ringstead!

Lovely chips mushy peas and saveloy. Fish smelt of ammonia so gave up after eating half of it. I am sure this was an exception and if I had pointed it out would have been remedied. I hope to return and get the perfect experience that others have had. Lovely location with the river nearby as well.

You say 2 people aloud in due to covid-19. Well there was 2 lady's in their already and I was called in with my partner that makes 4 of us! None staff wear wearing masks or gloves! Theirs no sign to say cash only. And during time time I feel that their should be a sign. Disgusting.

At last it has re-opened. Steady responsible clientele. We ordered by telephone and collected. As usual, the fish and chips were excellent! Peter and his staff are doing a tremendous job as always but especially so in these trying times. Much appreciated.

The fish was lovely white and flaky, batter nice too..chips got large portion, well enough to feed 4 not 2 people, mush peas just right too! Well Done! the fish is excellent for a land locked village

I always use Pete’s chippy as his fish is cooked to order. Chips are always piping hot and really tasty and huge portions! I would highly recommend this chippy to anyone who enjoys fish and chips

Our favourite takeaway by far at the moment. Great staff, very quick and friendly service. The pizza is like pizza pie it's so beautifully thick and the quality of the food never disappoints from one visit to the next

Me and my wife are regular customers, we love Peters fish bar menu. The service too is very quick and friendly. We are happy to travel several towns over to get our chips from here, we highly recommend this takeaway.

Fantastic fish and chips, and kebabs. We've only used Peters a couple of times, but really tasty!

Not the best fish and chips I've ever had and a real disappointment give the cost. The fish was dry and tough in a greasy batter, the chips were also very greasy and smelt of old oil. If I had had time I would have taken them back.

We regularly used Peters Fish Bar on our return from walking the dogs and on many occasions had their Fish and Chips which were excellent,and service was extremely friendly with some good banter thrown in for good measure. We revisited last weekend and ordered some food,i had the Chicken kebab whilst my wife ordered the Fish and Chips which she thoroughly enjoyed even if the portions were huge! My Kebab was good,very good,however slightly ruined by the amount of chilly sauce that was lobbed on by one of the many(7 of them and really not needed)staff members. The service is still excellent and so are the staff but my food compared to when we use to order regularly,had dipped slightly. A good variety menu wise at good prices and large portions as well. Visited 10th June 2018

Just moved here and the chippy was recommended - was not disappointed! £5.30 for a fish and chips. Cooked to perfection - crispy batter and perfect chips. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend :)

We popped in for food after reading great reviews and glad we did. Food was spot on, I had chicken kebab & chips -delicious. My husband had doner kebab and loved it too. The portion sizes were huge, very good value for money and staff were chatty & friendly, great customer service.

Always consistent always a good Donna kabab nice chilli sauce and fresh salad served in a wrap. We now order an open wrap to share as the wraps I found to large for me. My husband managed a full one.

When I was told about this chippy it was put on my "must try sometime" list. Well after first visit I could see why everyone raves about. Don't think I've eaten a better chip (except for the ones my man used to make, but I have to say that!!). Great tasty fresh food. You've tried the rest now try the best. If anyone says the good wasn't tasty I will eat my hat, only after Peter some kebab and chips on it!!!!

I actually Love this place. Drive past endless chip shops when I travel here from Rushden. Great size portions and friendly staff. Ok, sometimes there is a bit of a wait but it is worth it!

Peters is possibly the best take away Fish and Chip shop I know. Many things are only cooked fresh to order for you so if you are in a hurry, call in your order. He does all the normal things but his Chicken Pakora is stunning.

twice before I had good Fish and Chips fried to perfection, BUT !!! this time they were Damn AWEFUL, thin fish , thin scrappy chips, no taste and to think I came all the way from Bedford because I was so impressed last time, Pete you owe me five portions of fish and a portion of large chips if you are are concerned about your customers. they were really bad mate.

Don't quite understand the last two reviews. This is the best chippy in the area - chips are piping hot and portions massive, and items like burgers and pizzas are cooked to order. Not sure what other people are expecting, especially for the price.

Not quite the worst fish and chips I've ever had but very nearly. (The only worse examples were when I've been served fish that was off.) The chips were so old/reheated that most were nearly impossible to eat without threatening teeth. Came here once before about 5 years ago. Was rubbish then too. Won't be returning.
