Being Filipino British, I’m a little more critical of Filipino restaurants in London. Not just as a self proclaimed foodie but as someone who’s grown up on the cuisine, and with frequent visits to the motherland I have high expectations. Rapsa did not disappoint, the food was delicious and presented beautifully too. It says ‘fusion’ though it’s definately more Filipino and the flavours came through as authentically Filipino. Highly recommend that this is your first visit to taste Filipino food 🇵🇭

What a lovely evening. London has certainly look after us this weekend. It was a Sunday night and hoxton was quiet. We had a couple of drinks at the Howl At the Moon (also great) down the road and so by the time we arrived for our food we were ready. We arrived to a lovely welcome with special acknowledgement for my partners birthday which was really nice. We ordered a mix of things and every single dish was truly outstanding. All of them tasted unique and different to things we had eaten before. Often unusual combinations (haloumi and banana ketchup ? ) but all worked brilliantly well which made it an exciting food adventure. Even the deserts were exceptional. Asia sometimes isn’t considered the continent of puddings so we almost didn’t order but wow. The caramelised sponge with grated cheese was AMAZING. yes. Was a bit confusing to the brain but so so so good for the taste buds. All in all a brilliant and special night. Wish we lived closer.

We recently enjoyed a delightful Filipino culinary experience at Raspa. From start to finish, the service and food were exceptional. The Boodle Fight, a monthly treat at £32 per person, showcased a remarkable array of flavors. The Roasted Lechon Crispy Pork, Lumpia Spring Rolls, and Oxtail Kare Kare Croquettes all earned a well-deserved 10/10. The Pork Sisig was another highlight, perfectly complemented by the Red Horse beer and not to mention the surprise Adobo meat that's wasnt on the menu! While the Ukoy Fritters and Torta Talong Eggplant scored 6/10, the Steamed Rice fell slightly behind at 7/10. The Salmon Kilawin and Tilapia, wrapped in banana leaf, earned 4/10 and 6/10, respectively. The standout dishes were the Pork Lechon, Oxtail Kare Kare Croquettes, and Pork Sisig. To round off the meal, we indulged in Bibinga, a flawless 10/10, and Buko and Banana ice cream, though the banana overpowering, received a 4/10. The Leche Flan ice cream, while good, didn't quite match the traditional dessert, garnering a 5/10. Overall, Raspa delivered a top-notch Filipino culinary adventure, making the last Sunday of each month well worth the visit.

The food at Rapsa was just okay, but it didn't quite capture the authentic Filipino flavor I was hoping for. The service was a bit slow, which was a drawback. However, the staff was friendly and accommodating, which helped make the experience better.

what a find. everything was a discovery of flavours and as we shared we could try 8 different dishes ! oysters were very surprising as well as the baby octopus or the pork belly or the prawns and pineapple…great evening out with friends and service was both friendly, helpful and extremely professional. will go back.

Rapsa is one of the best brunches in London and definitely if you want to go boozy bottomless. Weekend only…. The food is heavenly and lots to choose from euro/Asian influence and delicious. There are lots of meat/veggie/vegan options. The portions are generous and you can choose from various spritzes and Prosecco (you don’t have to stick to one!). The drinks overflow and the staff are great. All for £38! And in nice weather you can sit outside. Can’t rate this place enough…. Must come back for their lunch and dinners as they look great too. Also happy hour 5-8pm weekdays

Really nice place, staff is helpful and extremely kind. The Filipino/Vietnamese cuisine is truly well executed. At the end of our lunch, the chef treated us to a tasting of some delicious spring rolls. We greatly appreciated the kind gesture. Highly recommended.

Unreal food , lovely staff and great drinks. Went with a friend and both left saying it was one of the nicest meals we’ve ever had. Had 5 tapas 2 cocktails and added a £20 tip and only came to around £55 each. The octopus, oxtail and chicken were the standouts, but to be honest it seems as though everything there is super tasty. Will be coming back, thank you!

We thought we booked a Vietnamese restaurant with Asian dishes as well to find out it was primarily a Philippino restaurant. Was not disappointed at all the food was delicious with generous portions and a very interesting menu. Would really recommend this venue as it the food was truly good. Can’t wait to return.

If you've never had Pilipino food, go here first - with a group. Sorry if like tapas, Pinoy style. Authentic essence of the flavors in a familiar format.

In this restaurant I discovered new tastes that I didn't know. The combination of spices and herbs enchanted all my senses. I also enjoyed the drinks which were very refreshing and their taste draws you into paradise everything was delicious. I will definitely be back and will recommend it to my friends

RAPSA is such a cool, trendy, fun, Filipino fusion restaurant! the Pork Belly Poke bowl was unreal. The staff were so accommodating and helpful! Funny, friendly, and nothing was too much for them. The food was wonderful! Exquisite flavours, and great portions! I’ll be back for a boodle fight and I’ll definitely bring some friends along! Special mention to Lucas and Hansel you guys are amazing! Great food with unique flavours and different textures. Drinks were also good. We also enjoyed the cool Shoreditch/Hoxton style ambience with little cozy sofa seats. Friendly staff. Good place for casual lunch & drinks with friends or casual drinks & nibbles in dinner time would be lovely as well. We visited early lunch time on Tuesday, so it was not busy or crowded at all, but on weekend might be much busier I assume.

[8:15 pm, 26/05/2022] James: THE GOOD Kinilaw was spot on Octopus adobo great Kare Kare was good. THE BAD Booked for 14 people and got there early. We (4 of us) sat at a table outside waiting for others to arrive and ordered drinks, which took over 30 minutes to arrive. I went to put my elbow on the table and it collapsed? We held it up until the waiter came back. We told him about the table and this is what he said. “What? How can that be it’s a brand new table we just bought it yesterday” which made us all feel that he was blaming us. Like we jumped on it or something. No apology no nothing he just took the table away so we moved to another table. The guy made us feel like it was such a burden to serve us and that he was doing us a favour. Myself and my family are all Pinoys (Filipinos) and know that Filipinos are the most friendly and hospitable people you can meet but the service we got at this restaurant was far from it. The food should be good but the service has to match it. The only thing Filipino about Rapsa is the food. Oh and they charge you 12.5 % service fee for the pleasure of treating you like s%*te. The guy serving us started moaning that he was alone. Maybe I should have charged him for therapy and sitting there listening to his problems. What great service…..NOT. The guy wears a red cap and has a beard, and apparently his name is Lukas according to their website. I truly hope you don’t have the pleasure of being served by him. . THE UGLY Lechon…This is NOT lechon . Don’t bother. Cold and hard crackling and meat tasted like it was cooked the day before ,not tasty at all..My wife makes 10x better lechon than this one. Longanisa rice…Didn’t taste like longanisa at all and was way over priced for what it was. Don’t bother with this. Cold as well. The person couldn’t take orders at all. She kept bringing items we didn’t order. I don’t understand this as she was writing our orders down? We also asked for some spoons to eat with the rice as this is what all Pinoys do and the response was……..ya ya ya it’s coming! “ Really? They don’t even recommend that you order rice as all Filipino food should be eaten with rice. Food prices are fair but £4.50 for a cup of rice is taking the piss. I was very happy that someone was bringing Filipino food to London but disappointed that they are giving the impression that Filipino hospitality is like this. Rapsa (Sarap) meaning yummy or tasty. Not so Rapsa I’m afraid. Never again.

I've had very good lunches here before, but this was my first evening visit, and it was terrific! The 3 of us had a feast, with fritters, pork belly, tiger prawns, broccoli and more, and the 850 Douro house red went down very easily. Lovely staff, great atmosphere.
