I had high expectations for Rapsa and I heard so many good things about it, however I’m a bit disappointed with the brunch set I had - which was mostly a lot of sweet breakfast dishes that’s not representative of the Filipino food I grew up with. Pairing ube waffles (sweet) with a mildly sweet version of longganisa was strange. I did enjoy the Lechon Kawali, although I think it should be served with Filipino vinegar to go alongside it. It was nicely paired with a nice, cold glass of Kalamansi juice. I do hope their dinner menu is a lot better than brunch.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times now including for brunch and dinner. It has been fantastic each time - the food and cocktails are delicious and the staff are just lovely. The dessert menu looks so good but I'm always too full by the end of the meal to try it 😭 Will definitely be back, hopefully with some self control next time!

We've been here once before and as we were going out for my daughter's 21st birthday in Shoreditch we thought we would give it another try. The main influence here is Filipino cuisine however it's not heavily marketed as such so if you just strolled past this place and had a look inside and had a look at the menu you may not be too sure what cuisine you were looking at. There's hardly any signage outside at all even making it clear what the name of the restaurant is, let alone what type of cuisine, to the point where a friend of ours who was joining us walked past a number of times looking for it. However once inside the food and service is excellent. This is Filipino cuisine done in tapas style so all the plates are quite small so you do need a few per person just like Spanish tapas. The flavours and presentation are excellent but my only criticism would be that not enough of the dishes have the ability to fill you up so after leaving I could still eat more but if you order too much in the restaurant in order to fill you up it can get quite costly. The service was amazing from all staff members and in particular a very young staff member called Thoko, who was honestly one of the friendliest and most upbeat waitresses we've ever come across. The owners should work very hard to keep her as she is an absolute credit to the restaurant and takes the dining experience up to another level. However we were disappointed to hear that the management keep the service charge if you don't remove it from the bill, which I find inappropriate and does put me off returning. Of course you can leave a cash tip, which I did and once I asked for the service charge to be refunded, it was done without complaint but I do feel that any restaurant that keeps the service charge is being very unethical. If you haven't tried Filipino cuisine before this could be a good first starting point. *Update* In response to the reply from the owner regarding service charge, I would urge you to reconsider your stance as it is massively flawed. As it stands the company receives every amount of service charge as extra income, which is undeserved as that is not the purpose of service charge. On your point about inflated hourly rate for younger staff, there is no obligation to pay anyone minimum wage & having worked in the service industry, I'm a strong believer in paying someone what they're worth & your younger staff members are worth a higher rate. The emphasis should be on quality of service, not age. With this in mind and if you were really concerned about the staff you would give them the rate they deserve and remove service charge to let customers choose to leave whatever they feel is deserved of the service they received. Keeping 12.5% of every table is not appropriate. Your response is unfortunate as on the whole the restaurant is great, as you saw from my review. To give benefit of doubt your stance could be done with the best of intention but on inspection, it definitely needs revising

I’ve been coming back to Rapsa so many times for a few years. The food is delicious. The drinks are creative. On May 14, I was so excited to introduce my friends to Rapsa. We have a booking for 2:45pm which was booked a few days before. We arrived 2:50pm. They turned us away upon arrival. The server told us that the kitchen closed at 2pm for dinner service. Odd, why will your website allow bookings at 2:45 when you close kitchen at 2pm.

The service I recieved was warm and welcoming as a guest charging my phone at ease and drinking English tea quaintly outside the front for over two hours relaxing. The food was ok as a generalization it could have been better. It was rushed and the chicken dish that I was recomended was not cooked as described in terms of the overall quality I felt disappointed; the service was perfect and the environment was comforting.

as a filipina, rapsa @ 100 hoxton is my go-to in london 🙌🏼 i've eaten here sooo many times now but i just cannot leave this branch alone! shoutout to thoko for being the reason i'm finally leaving a review 🫶🏼 great service, music and overall lovely vibezzz pretty much everything is delicious but my personal recommendations are: slow roasted lechon, oxtail kare kare croquettes (don't think this is on the menu anymore 🥲) and the bibingka for dessert is topppp tier. also been here for the sunday boodle fight menu and the four of us were stuffed! crazzzzy variety and portions 😍 not sure if i would go again after trying it all once but it's definitely worth it the first time! couldn't say no to the dessert platter too, but we made room 🤤 there's another filipino guy that works here and the archway branch that's a really friendly server! shoutout to kuya 🇵🇭 honestly the ambience and the friendliness of the staff make me so happy to come back everytime 🥰 as well as the food of course.

We came here for dinner and enjoyed the Filipino fusion flavours and service. Between the three of us, we shared the salmon kilawin (this was slightly bland so not a must), tiger prawns (great), torta talking eggplant (amazing flavour, a favourite), roasted cauliflower salad (nice), piangyang chicken (delicious flavour with perfectly cooked chicken, another favourite) and the slow roasted lechon (good). Although they say it's tapas style, the portion sizes are decent and it was good value for money. The service was friendly and attentive.

So I visited with some friends a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night, the food was really good and worth the wait but our night was ruined by the service. First of all, there was at most two people working on the floor, one of whom I believe was South Asian, they were very understanding and kind but the other waiter was something else entirely. He completely behaved like he would rather be anywhere than at the restaurant. He was overly aggressive and seemed to be angry at everything. He also appeared to be intimidating other diners and my friends with his poor attitude which was annoying and uncomfortable. I myself have worked in the service industry for many years and would be utterly mortified if someone like that represented my team. The other waiter, although polite and patient, just seemed resigned to his behaviour as if it was a regular occurrence. Hope for the sake of the business that this isn't the case as it marred the whole experience. Overall, the food is lovely! But quite frankly, I will only ever go back with the guarantee that I have anyone BUT that guy wait on me again.

I am not one to lie or exaggerate so please believe that when I say this is straight up one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in London you can believe me. Somehow these people have managed to make common RICE and EGG taste like the best cuisine in the world, and I guess it is. We were served by Chad who is easily the single best host I've ever had in any restaurant. He was kind, empathetic and just went fully out of his way to ensure that my friends and I (a big group of nearly 20 people) had a comfortable and fun experience. I just can't put into words what a great time we had here. I will definitely return to this restaurant, this review can't do it justice but as an aspiring food writer I'm going to write up a long-form review and will post the link to that on this Google review page so you can see the fullness of the experience that we had. We recently enjoyed a delightful Filipino culinary experience at Raspa. From start to finish, the service and food were exceptional. The Boodle Fight, a monthly treat at £32 per person, showcased a remarkable array of flavors. The Roasted Lechon Crispy Pork, Lumpia Spring Rolls, and Oxtail Kare Kare Croquettes all earned a well-deserved 10/10. The Pork Sisig was another highlight, perfectly complemented by the Red Horse beer and not to forget the Pork Adobo that wasn't mentioned as a surprise! While the Ukoy Fritters and Torta Talong Eggplant scored 6/10, the Steamed Rice fell slightly behind at 7/10. The Salmon Kilawin and Tilapia, wrapped in banana leaf, earned 4/10 and 6/10, respectively. The standout dishes were the Pork Lechon, Oxtail Kare Kare Croquettes, and Pork Sisig. To round off the meal, we indulged in Bibinga, a flawless 10/10, and Buko and Banana ice cream, though the banana overpowering, received a 4/10. The Leche Flan ice cream, while good, didn't quite match the traditional dessert, garnering a 5/10. Overall, Raspa delivered a top-notch Filipino culinary adventure, making the last Sunday of each month well worth the visit.

I've been going here for 15 years, back when it was based in Islington and called "Zilouf's"! The staff are friendly and service is prompt, and the food is of course delicious. It's a tasteful fusion of Western and Philipino cuisine, masterfully combined into creative and nuanced dishes. Highlights include the perfectly roasted pork belly, the warming coconut pumpkin curry, and the rice pudding with proper banana ice cream! On weekends there are brunches that feature an equally wide range of entries, from big traditional breakfasts to lavish french toast, halloumi fingers with banana ketchup, and even yam waffles with an assortment of toppings. The drinks aren't lacking either, with a signature raspberry and lychee liquor cocktail with egg white and hints of sweet chilli, as well as a Don Papa rum and pandan extract blend that is my personal favourite. For the more adventurous there are also vodka (or virgin) taro slushies, and even a controversial matcha and oat milk mix that could be thought of as a far eastern counterpart to a White Russian. All in all I definitely recommend a visit here, and I can only deduct one point from atmosphere because they no longer have the old cathode-ray tube television that was being used as an aquarium. That was awesome, bring it back!

We visited the place its quiet small but, service was good. drinks is well prepared and food as well. The food was very good the only honest criticism with the menu is the choices of food online are not on the menu itself. imagine the table next to us traveled from far away and we heard them ask why they don't have the choices mentioned online. it's disappointing, but credit ro chef he's done well with the presentation and quality of food. Good enough to satisfy our palate. We also spoken to a gentleman that works in Rapsa and along the conversation we ask about Karaoke and he said they don't open it unless you have to book. and if you wanna use karaoke need to pay £50 per head. I'd rather suggest to please open up without charging per head. If you open up Karaoke for customer they'll stay indoor and maybe keep ordering drinks which is good for business. the more customer spend time the more order of food and drinks you'll get. The place has potential. please review your option. and maybe by then we'll come back along with many friends.

For an authentic Filipino Boodle fight this is NOT the place to go to. WE were disappointed to bring our friends & my husband’s British family to experience the Pinoy Boodle fight. Food came in a big wooden board which they served for 5 people each (we struggled to share among ourselves as the table is set for 4). Imagine, we kept standing up to reach the food. We were group of 16. Boodle fights are originally, eating by hands with all food laid on big banana leaves but here we have plates, knives , forks and soup spoons (no proper spoon). For £27per person we were let down, not even 1 free drink with that price mind you. The the pork Lechon kawali is a bit chewy not crunchy, lumpia is made of longanisa fillings (why?) they should just left it as longanisa instead of wrapping it to pretend lumpia or maybe it can make more money by doing it that way. The eggplant was nice but the small serving I assure you cannot be for 5 people to share in that little mini skillet along with the Sisig as well. There were loads mountains of rice, yes to appear mounds of food and decorated with mint leaves to fill up the spaces in that wooden tray. They surely have earned a lot that day from us but no pride on what they serve. I suppose if you’re not Filipino and coming to this with no expectations or knowledge of true Boodle fight meal — it can pass your standards. This experience is a big Thumbs down for us. If you are after a true Pinoy Boodle fight meal go to Romford “Tilaw by Franco” at £23/person you get good authentic experience with 1 free drink. (Note: I am not related in anyway to the restaurant nor paid to advertise. I experienced both restaurants so I can personally compare them). I only speak the truth here according to how I experienced it and my intention is to warn others so that you enjoy your money’s worth.

Wow wow wow. We decided to visit Rapsa on a wet summer day, on the recommendation of a tik tok influencer. We didn’t realise there was a special event on. At first we thought that there would be too much food for us, but luckily we were able to pack our leftovers for the next day. I chose the cocktail, which was delicious and my guest had the Filipino beer called red horse. My guest is Filipino, and we were comforted to see that the majority of guests in the restaurant were also Filipino. We both selected the meat boodle fight, which is designed as a sharing menu. At £27pp it’s great value and a wonderful way to experience many Filipino dishes together. There was a wonderful selection of vegetarian and meat options scattered on a banana leaf which made the experience seem more authentic. I particularly enjoyed the pork lechón, which was crispy and moist, as well as the chicken curry. The spring rolls were surprisingly packed full with tacino and the calamansi dipping sauce was my favourite. The slight let down was the fritters, which were too large that made them stodgy and dense. It may have been better to make these smaller and crispier. The salads were fresh and crunchy and the crispy chicharrón was a great balance of texture. The service was relaxed and attentive and they made us feel welcomed. Our waiter explained the concept and menu very well and there was a wonderful vibe in the restaurant, with a great soundtrack playing in the background as well. I would highly recommend this little gem off the main Shoreditch scene.

Our waitress was superb (didn’t catch her name but she had green eyeliner on!). Props to her because she made our evening special. I’ll be recommending Rapsa to anyone who visits us. Thank you for the hospitality and banging food.

Lovely food and amazing staff! We took pork lechón, longanisa rice and pyanggang chicken with kalamansi mojito and red horse beer and as dessert cheese bibinka. We talked with the waiter and head chef which were lovely and invited us to Tanduay rum shots. A massive thank you for that! We will SURELY go back again 😀

The food is delicious, the drinks are good, the service lovely and the music selection is awesome 👌 We had: 🐄Oxtail kare kare croquettes with peanut shrimp satay, aubergine, beans and Pak choi 🐙Baby octopus adobo in coconut milk and tumeric potatoes Roasted cauliflower salad with coconut yoghurt, pomeganades and coconut flakes 🐖Slow roasted lechon (pork belly) Mango float with mango parfait, mango ice cream chilli and ginger syrup. Best Filipino fusion resto I’ve been so far. Highly recommend , the vibe is very infused culture with a distinct Filipino ambiance because of the condiments that are on visible shelf. Modern furniture. The Food is amazing!

This is a nice little spot away from the busier streets of east London. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The food was not particularly to my taste, I thought some of it was a bit bland, but that could have been what I ordered. As I went with a vegetarian friend, we only ordered veg options. Before they knew we were vegetarian, they did say to go for something with protein i.e. meat or fish, so it might be that better veg options need to be made available. I loved the atmosphere of the place though, and the cocktails at happy hour were lovely!

I love the food. the taste is exceptional. prices are reasonable except for some like aubergine salad, "ensaladang talong" probably because i am too familiar with the cuisine and its a very simple dish, shouldn't cost much. It was probbly the 3rd time I ate there with my husband and the last experience was a little bit annoying just bcoz we felt we were pushed to order more food than we actually wanted to order. too much convincing from the manager(i think)who took the order saying we were supposed to order like atleast 4 to taste variety of food bcoz they come in small servings,(not really hungry) but hello this is our cuisine, we didn't need to be introduced. We ended up ordering 4 kinds, just to make him go away, paid around £70, we were not too hungry really coz we had a snack at jollibee, and Halo halo at mamason desserts, these are usual food destinations in london for Filipinos so just came for Lechon kawali & Salmon kinilaw. Hence, a bit annoyed at how pushy he was to raise sales but you know food was still way too worth it, its, not the indigestion though. I still highly recommend!

Filipino tapas. Super flavorful small plates which dazzle the eyes and the palate. Loved the food, the space, and the service. Left feeling stuffed and fully sated. Look forward to coming back and trying the kamayan with a group. Highly recommended.

I’ve been to the Plough quite a few times over a couple of years. It’s a nice pub, the staff are friendly and they have a cocktail menu and decent draught selection. They have screens for the sports lovers and there are guest chefs now and again mixing up their menu. I’ve never been to their basement club but they do have one! And their roast is really nice!

Like so many we hadn't dined out in a long time and my clever husband suggested to sulky me a mid-week local pick-us-up treat. I can only say wow. We loved Ceres when we last visited in 2019 but the tasting menu tonight with matched wines was out of this world and a steal at the price. Deservedly Michelin-recognised cuisine with such a friendly and professional face (just two young women currently run the whole outfit including single handedly chef-ing and wonderful front of house). Ceres is walking distance for us and we are grateful because it is a destination-grade restaurant. Fine dining for £48pp.

This is my go-to lunch spot! I have tried soo many things from the menu and they are all great! My top favourites are the sweet chilli Korean fried chicken and the chicken katsu curry! Place is clean, staff are very friendly and food is delicious ✨
