Ramore Restaurants in Coleraine

Expensive and poor quality (also, not a wine bar). Two mains, a pint and a gin and tonic came to £60. My partner had the gluten free version of the bang bang chicken which amounted to 6 pieces of dry garam masala chicken with a gravy boat of mayonnaise. Would not recommend.

Alot of chicken on menu, little seafood options considering location. Great window seating. Unfortunately there is no ordering at the table & you may have to queue to place order at bar/ order station. Tasty food. We were happy with the overall service and would return again.

Terrible dining experience. Over £60 spend and most of it left without eating. Really sad to see. Pic of the burger @ £11.95. My children could have cooked better

We went as a family for my husband’s birthday. Because of there being 12 of us we ordered in 3 groups. gougons came and 11minutes later cold chips arrived. Champ was also cold and gouging were tough. Steak was poor and sides were arriving when mains were cold. We spent over £300 and all of us were very disappointed. Staff were lifting plates off the table instead of waiting until we had all finished. Very poor indeed

Prices are on par with a Michelin star restaurant but the service is completely non existent. We had nachos for a sharing stater, it would be unfair to actually give them a rating as they were that bad. However the fish Thermidor was excellent but for £28 it would need to be. £21 for a small piece of chicken with 3 onion rings and some pepper sauce is scandalous. Also had to wait for 10 mins before the chips arrived to complete our order. We left with the same feeling as if we have just been burgled, we won’t be back until the prices are lowered to a more realistic level.

Service very good, starter faultless, Main course of medium sirloin steak was very poor. When you pay £20+ pounds for a steak you expect premium quality aged beef loin from Aberdeen Angus cattle not Holstein bullock beef. Can’t remember eating tougher beef in a restaurant in the past 40 years. Please change your butcher to a professional.

The food was totally overpriced and under average. Asked if we could have a table by the window and we were told it was booked but it was still empty when we were leaving at 2.30pm which is closing time. The two female servers..one I think was a supervisor could barely crack a smile. Won't be back.

The Ramore (Winebar) has gone spectacularly downhill. We hadn't been since before covid & the food has trebled in price - £21 now for their fish pie!!! I'm sorry, but for what is essentially cafe service, it is simply not worth it. Used to love the place but we will definitely not be back.

As always fantastic food & superb staff. Popped in for a takeaway (chilli beef Rigatoni x 2). Olivia is always such a genuinely lovely girl and even remembers my name each time; she is a credit to Ramore. The Chef & staff from the kitchen are simply exemplary, so friendly and welcoming. Poor service below average meal.

The food was fantastic, but the overall experience felt rushed and crowded, as if you're expected to leave your table as soon as you finish eating. Nothing was said but it just felt that way.

Visited for lunch this week, I hadn't been in a while and I can't fault the food - had the Harbour Burger and it was delicious. Great value and friendly staff.

My wife and I Visited the Ramore on Saturday past and I have to say it never fails to exceed expectations. Fantastic Menu to choose from and excellent staff who make you feel very at home from start to finish. Our choices from the menu on the this occasion was the famous salt & chilli prawns for a starter followed by a seafood Thermidor and the Thai monkfish and prawn curry. Absolutely divine Food and a fantastic evening.

We always went to the ramore. Haven't been for about 3 years. Won't be back . Food was good, although over priced , it is now like a cafeteria , you have get your own cutlery . No wonder the locals don't go . We went to the ramore when Jane's parents owned it ,and when Jane and George took over. Finn has made it like a fast food joint .

Place has gone downhill and prices uphill!

Had lunch here 18/2/24. Service was awful.. Sides arriving when main nearly finished. Orders mixed up. Soup was cold. Extremely disappointed!

The food in here is probably best described as poor. The nacho platter is the content of a packet of nachos with a sauce drizzled over them a few peppers scatted over plate absolutely no love or thought given to this dish. The haddock and chips again chips were poor and seem to be all chripy bits not real chips. The haddock was ok and mushy peas more like a paste. The atmosphere is none existent with a loud tanoy calling for people to come forward and all sitting on plasticchairs that you would find in a school classroom. If this is what passes as a restaurant I am afraid I will not be back.

A little disappointed to be honest. Staff were lovely - very friendly and efficient. Good range of choice on menu however the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. Quite pricey also, considering the quality of the dishes. Won’t be ‘port’rushing back here anytime soon sadly

Food OK, for some reason there was about 6 waiters who would not stop circling like vultures throughout the meal. Constantly walking around and asking if I was finished when I clearly wasn't.

Went here on sat night. Will definitely not be back in this place .service was shocking and we waiting 90 mins for our meals to come. There was 5 of us and not one person enjoyed there meals. We had to clear the stater dishes and then the mains dishes as well. Not once did anyone ask if everything was ok . Any wonder the place was only half full with food and service like this. Definitely avoid this place.at all costs. The prices of the food and especially the drink is just mad.

Ordered Salted chilli prawns Chicken satay skewer BBQ ribs Beef curry Chicken vindaloo Sticky rice Fried rice Noodles Pilau rice We haven’t been here in two years and I remembered the last time, the food was not piping hot, just warmed. Same thing, warm food. The salted chilli prawns were correct temperature but this time, they were super oily, the excess oil ruined it. Chicken skewers were dry, they chicken was thinly sliced on skewered and over cooked. Good seasoned and Sauce was ok. BBQ ribs tasted good, too fatty for my husband but I love this type of ribs however, it was just luke warm. Beef curry, again, warm, the sauce was thick and minimal to the point the beef and vegetables stuck together. Chicken vindaloo was very well presented but again, warm. The curry itself felt undercooked, tasted of gritty raw spices, it just needed cooked off longer, as a result the sauce was watery. Again the sides were just warm. I think we won’t be back unless for another few years to see if there’s improvement.

Hadn't been for a number of years. Really has gone down hill. Feels dirty and grubby, expensive for what it is. Where have all the friendly attentive staff gone. Don't think we will be back unless it's refurbished and standards get better, quite sad really!!

This is not what i think of when i think of a wine bar. Place was very packed on Saturday night. Was seated and went to the bar to place drink and food order. Was extremely loud, so much so i couldn't hear my wife across the table. Food was average

I attend here often enough but I must say very disappointed this time so much so I felt I had to post. We (a party of 4) arrived for lunch and when it arrived there was a fly dead in the sauce. When we mentioned to the waitress not so much as a sorry was said, she took it away , brought it back and then left. Not impressed as you pay for your food up front.

Overpriced food, bad service. Portions are large though. Loud, very noisy. Definitely not a place to relax. There are better choices in Portrush.

We were put off from the offset by Callum the bar manager being really nasty to the bar staff. It was totally unnecessary. We should have left then, only a young barman called George was so, so lovely and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. My husband could only stomach a couple of mouthfuls, when the waitress came to clear our (full) plates she asked if we wanted a doggy bag, when we said it was not great food, she shrugged and walked away. Really hope George finds a job somewhere that appreciates him and serves better food.

Ate here a few times over the past few years, the food is nice and reasonably priced. On some of the times I've been here, there has been a musician on which provided a relaxed atmosphere. The views overlooking the harbour are beautiful. We informed them of an occasion we were celebrating and they made a nice amount of fuss about it. I had always heard a lot of hype around this place, and while I don't think it's worth coming out of your way to come here, it's definitely up there with the best in Portrush.

You have to more or less serve yourself and alway remind them to clear your table. . It’s a posh McDonald’s. And prices are crazy.£20 for penne pasta. Be warned.

Went to the Wine Bar to catch up with a friend for an early dinner. It’s more of a fast food set up than a restaurant. Plastic laminated menus, staff (mostly young teenagers) wearing hand written name badges. Tables pushed very close together. I ended up taking most of my food home because I was massively put off by a small child less than a foot away from me eating loudly with his mouth open. He was moving around and kept banging onto our table, almost knocking food off because of the lack of space. Private conservation was a no-no. There is no table service, we had to go to the bar to order food and drinks and pay. This was incredibly disruptive when I needed another drink during my food. Had to leave it to queue for quite a while. Asked a waitress for some water which didn’t appear, so back to leaving my friend, food and more queuing. Overall has the feel of trying to turn over as many tables as possible and more of a ‘nipping out of the office for lunch’ place than an actual restaurant. The food was reasonable and the deserts delicious.

Food is good. Especially the house salads but overpriced. I’d be happy to pay if the service is good but its shocking. Customer experience is on par with McDonald’s. I did enjoy my time there but not sure I will visit again Sat for 45 minutes waiting for a waiter, no one said you have to go up to order. No one brings you a drink… or comes to see you need anything. Have to go get knifes and forks and set your own table. The staff seem nice but they are under orders from management to provide bad service..

My husband and I just called at the bar. As we entered the revolving door and approached the male bar tender, he didn't give us chance to order anything. He advised us to go next door instead as there is entertainment on all evening and we would probably prefer it there 😡.Yes we were both in our rain attire as the weather has been very unpredictable today. That we felt annoyed is an understatement. So very rude and ignorant. As the Pretty Woman statement of 'Big Mistake' comes to mind. Totally pompous and delusional of grandeur. We felt very judged by our appearance. Disgraceful behaviour 😤 Also good advice given as the Harbour Bar is far more inviting and deserving of custom with the outstanding staff and atmosphere 👏

We booked to go to the Wine Bar for dinner on Sunday and were incredibly disappointed. The food was very poor (and after speaking to staff twice I was still given the incorrect order). Goats cheese salad was poor, with little actual goats cheese and a selection of salad that was abysmal at best. No servers came near us once to ask how the food was, rather they just walked laps of the restaurant. We used to like the Ramore but unfortunately it seems to have gone down hill and we won’t be back.

Very disappointed to say the least. We came to portrush for 3 nights and on 2 of the nights we were turned away from 2 of the Ramore restaurants with a buggy because we had our 6 month old son with us that can't sit up yet to sit in a high chair. On the first night we were turned away from the Bistro and sign posted to the Mermaid which was OK but we preferred the Bistro Menu. On the 2nd evening we were told by the Coast restaurant that we couldn't bring in our buggy either so we had to leave and find somewhere the to eat. It was advertised on the coast website that it was family friendly and that's why we booked it after being turned away from the bistro the previous night. This should be advertised on the website that that can no accommodate buggies. We are extremely disappointed as we had so many recommendations for the ramore restaurants before going to Portrush and were only in Portrush for 3 nights. Needless to say we cancelled our booking for the 3rd night for neptune and prawn as we didn't chance it to be turned away again.

Service was good. Joseph in particular was excellent . Food was terrible , served cold , returned 3 out of 4 dishes. Duck was over cooked and very oily. Sides were also cold . Quality of food has declined considerably over the past few years. Such a pity as the Ramore use to excel….

Cold food, late sides.. as always.. refuse to go back now. Place is getting very grubby. Look at the dirt of the doors .. grubby hand marks and sticky floors. Cutlery isn't clean.

Think this is probably the worst place I have ever eaten. Party of 10 attending for 50th birthday, table booked for 8pm, not seated until 9.30pm, given 2 tables beside each other which were situated beside live entertainment which started at 10pm. The service was not good but this is a management problem who obviously overbook and don't train the young staff properly. The only thing that saved the night slightly was for the people who ordered steak which was delicious -everything else was mediocre at best. The live entertainment was good but definitely not suitable for people still dining, owner/managers behaved like they were on a night out themselves rather than looking after the customer. Would have left before ordering had it not been someone elses birthday. Avoid at all costs

Do not be fooled by the name - this is not a place for people who like wine. This is a fairly bizarre establishment. The staff seem like friendly people but they do not seem to buy into the server-customer relationship in its traditional sense. You have to go up to order your food and drink, and we were asked to calculate our own bill at the end. The food itself was fine, although one of our dishes had hair in it. Wouldn’t recommend!

They forgot to serve our food useless staff . Waited 1 and half hours they sent the side dishes but no mains. By the time the realised the chefs had gone home .

A Birthday Party had been arranged for 9 people on Saturday night. The concept in the Wine Bar is self serve, which simply doesn’t work in a restaurant setting particularly with large bookings. Food would have been ordered at separate times if we didn’t agree on one person paying the bill first. All drinks ordered separately before hand - causing delays for staff on the bar. I sent back the Guinness as it tasted sour. My Ramore Burger wasn’t good. The tobacco onions were cold, burger bap saturated in grease and you get two abysmal 3oz burgers. No staff checked on our table to ask if everything was okay, which resulted in this review. We all had to get our own cutlery from the shared cutlery tray, which on a hygiene level creates a breeding ground for bacteria. Overall, for those reasons I can’t rank this restaurant anything higher than 1 Star.

Gone after 2.5 hours of waiting! Positive: nice location with a good location. Restaurant concept not recommended: we initially waited about 1.5 minutes for our table (initially it was said to be an hour without a reservation). When we got a table it was explained to us that food and drinks had to be ordered at the bar (this could have been mentioned earlier). Waiting time at the bar was up to 1 hour because the staff was completely overwhelmed. When we asked when we ordered, we were told that it would take about another hour to prepare the food - after that information we left. It may be better during the day (before 5 p.m.) and with a table reservation. Drinks can also be ordered without a fixed table.
