Rake's Cafe Bar in City of London, Westminster

The food was tasty and fresh, our bottomless drinks were constantly flowing and our waiter Asif was amazing and tended to our every need.

Great for a lovely cute bottomless brunch with friends! Ask for Asif the best! He had our drinks and food flowing! Always checked in with a smile! We loved him!

We flew to London to attend a wedding - and stayed at the Andaz. We ate breakfast every day - 5 mornings - in Rake's and loved it. Food was terrific - but the service was beyond excellent. Our compliments to the host, Honor, and our servers Fatemah and Hazel. We felt like royalty!! We were treated extremely well and with smiles every single morning. The Andaz is right beside the Liverpool underground and railway - but the service at Rake's is what became of utmost important to us. We were very happy to see Hunor, Fatemah, and Hazel each morning of our visit. Fantastic staff at Rake's. THANKS to all of them!

Absolutely amazing staff members!!! Came here as part of my Hen Do and it definitely was a highlight to my night. The staff members helped get the part going with music dancing along with us and even joined in with some of our Hen do games. The food and service was seriously top notch. Thankyou so much for making my hen do so memorable. You were all so so lovely.

Considering this is advertised as a Cafe bar you would have thought the coffee would be good. It was not. The express I ordered was cold when it arrived and not even in an expresso cup. The soya flat white was made with off soya milk so it looked and tasted terrible. Definitely a place for coffee lovers to avoid.

One of the nice thing about catching a train from Liverpool street is , it is a great excuse to go to Rake's cafe, The hotel housing it is just stunning . Plus the food used to be amazing and varied . Sadly we went today and what a let down . The menu has changed you can not get food between 11-12 . The staff we appointed and kept showing the nice brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday . The menu that was available was very limited , Over priced I had the calamari a very small starter portion arrived and it was around five small pieces . The staff are just lovely but also seemed confused by the menu and kept apologising . It was lunch and it took for every for our deserts to arrive my cremebrulee pear and cinnamon was lovely . But they need to re think the menu there is a busy area were people want to eat a varied menu . We wont be back to eat sadly and I have been going for several year maybe coffee or a drink ,

Had a great time and the ambience was great . However I had to hand over my credit card so we could have a tab set up and within an hour of leaving it was fraudulently used on line to make a remote purchase !!!! Be AWARE .

Nicely dimmed lights, music playing in the background but not too loudly so we could keep a conversation, top notch drinks and very attentive staff - especially the gentleman called Jad. Attentive and discreet at the same time, we felt very well looked after. Will definitely return again!

We booked a table here for a few Christmas drinks and had such an unpleasant experience. When we got there I told the man at the door we had a booking, he looked us up and down and then said I’ll have to ask my colleague. It made us feel so uncomfortable as though he was assessing the way we looked. When we were seated the waiter asked our drink order; my friend said the wrong drink and corrected herself. He interrupted and said ‘I’ll come back when you’re *actually* ready.’ So rude, I told him we are ready and he huffed. Then he decided to bring our bill out 30 mins before our allotted time was finished. The attitude was appalling and made a nice night feel a bit sour.

Visited early evening. Was fairly quiet, service was fairly quick. We had paella and salmon - generous portions and both meals were well presented and flavoursome. We felt it was pricey, especially the wine but we enjoyed our visit.

My husband and I booked to celebrate our wedding anniversary after seeing their free flowing Moet option. We always celebrate with champagne, so it seemed a good deal and as the food options on the lunch menu looked good too be made the booking. On arrival we were seated in a rather noisy area by the main bar, with music blaring out and a group of women on a hen party already tucking into drinks. The area was very busy, and as I am very anxious in busy social environments I asked if we could move to a quieter area. This request was met pleasantly and without issue as we were moved to the lovely red and green painted room on the centre of Rakes which, although still very loud with the music was all to ourselves. Service was great throughout and our request for a second bottle of Moet was met promptly. Food was tasty and hot although I found that caviar on eggs Benedict is a little.... strange personally. Nothing that couldn't be scraped off though and I'll know for next time. Overall, good value for what was received the only qualm would be the volume of the music.

Llamé para reservarlo y me dijeron que primero tenía que comprar el cupón, para darles el número de mi voucher. Hasta ahí lo puedo llegar a entender. Mi sorpresa llega cuando compro el bono y ya no puedo hacer la reserva por teléfono. Ahora había que enviar un correo, que contestaron 1 día después diciendo que no había disponibilidad y no podían acomodar mi reserva. Pésima atención al cliente. No entiendo que oferten bonos que luego no quieren canjear o no les vaya bien para el revenue del día.

We visited for breakfast on a Sunday and were really impressed. The food and coffees were lovely albeit quite expensive and the atmosphere was relaxed. Service was not that fast although we were told that there would be a wait for food.

I had brunch. The menu was not large but had some interesting choices including some tasty nut healthy ones. I do not drink alcohol but having some excellent reasonably priced mocktails is always a bonus. A very pleasant place with friendly service to eat whether staying at the hotel or just in the area.

Aangezien wij ons kerstdiner hadden om 18.30 uur waren wij veel te vroeg. Daarom wilden wij eerst ergens een drankje doen om zo de tijd te overbruggen. Wij liepen langs Rakes om 17.15 uur en aangezien hun bord buiten aangaf dat ze tot 18.00 uur open zouden zijn, wilden we hier nog een drankje doen. We liepen naar binnen en het eerste wat we te horen kregen is dat ze gesloten zijn. Niet eerst een begroeting of iets dergelijks, maar direct een botte afwijzing. Aangegeven dat het bord iets anders aangeeft. Medewerkers informeerde niet eerst naar ons doel. Wij zouden daar niet gaan eten. Deze eerste ervaring heeft er voor gezorgd dat we hier überhaupt niet meer heen willen... en dat is toch een knappe prestatie.

I came here with some friends and we were amazed with the place. Even though it is located next to Liverpool Station, it is very quiet, and it is such a beautiful venue to have some food. We really enjoyed the food and staff was very friendly. Highly recommend this place.

We went in December on a Saturday evening ,this is in a lovely location quite Close to Liverpool st station. We had drinks and bar food. Was served with great customer service. Friendly staff. Helpful staff. Enjoyed our night out there was also a DJ! Would go again. Plenty of space to sit snd eat. There are different parts of the cafe where you can just sit and relax too.

Oh my way to London Stansted I had just under an hour to spare before catching the train to the airport. Despite the fact that it was a Saturday night, I was blown away by how quick, efficient, and friendly the staff was. They found me a spot at the bar and delivered my food in record speed. The drink selection is also simply excellent. If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll be sure to come again.

Visited this place during the week was quite busy. We were seated very quickly we ordered Americano and espresso coffee these then took nearly 15 minutes to actually be served to us. When the eventually has arrived the expresso was cold, and the Americano had no milk which had to be asked for again. The ambience of the place is very nice however I was in for a get another surprise when I got the bill for 1 expresso and one Americano the bill came to £8.40, I wouldn't mind but neither drink was anything special in fact the coffee was quite acrid with a burnt flavour. As I say the surroundings are nice but the prices are ridiculous it's an arm and a leg for the most basic things and the services not to the best. The waiter never even smiled and as I say took 15 minutes to serve two hot drinks I would not visit this place again.

We visited today for a bottomless brunch and it really delivered Jason, out server, went above and beyond and made sure our experience at Rakes was an amazing one. Food was devine Highly recommend

The stumbled into this spot and we were truly amazed and impressed. The breakfast options varied from pancakes all the way to Mediterranean shack Shuka. The pancakes came topped with a lot of bacon, that was sweetened with brown sugar. The pancakes were fluffy and sweet. Topped with maple syrup. The Mediterranean Shakshuka were prepare to perfection. The spices were perfect. The egg omelette had so much flavor! Additionally, true barista had unmatched talent. The service was friendly and quick. We appreciate they took all 17 of us last minute and we’re very gracious.
