Lights to bright, food was ok if you’re in a rush

Tried the steak tartare, the crab appetizer and the two steak and frites on the menu. I love Cote but this particular venue in Marylebone is the dullest most unwelcoming Cote I've ever visited. It was like a canteen. It really needs a complete makeover. Staff were very good and some of the food was fine. Luckily we made our own evening but I won't be visiting this very drab restaurant again. Sorry but true.

A good restaurant consists of good service and good food. Neither are 'bad' here but also not great. Please don't mess with classics like creme brulee - it doesn't need passion fruit or lime, and insist on waiting staff to be clean (feel sorry for the guy but he did smell).

Very happy with food atmosphere and service. The Cote Marylebone staff couldn't have done more to help our 16 people wedding party getting off to a great start with a drink and even standing back for off the cuff speeches by the guests in the adjacent room. It was very reasonably priced with the set menus and everybody had a great time. Where else would you find such accommodating staff and good food for a part of 16 at lake notice? Many thanks and many recommendations for the Cote Marylebone team.

Great service, nice atmosphere. Food was served in good time, hot and delicious.

Tried the fried calamari and French onion soup at Côte Marylebone. The calamari had a crisp coating but lacked seasoning, and the portion felt a bit meagre. The onion soup had a deep, rich flavour, though the cheese topping could have been more generous. Overall, a decent experience, but nothing particularly outstanding.

Popular and busy eatery. Staff were pleasant and efficient and the food was good.

Côte Marylebone was pretty good. The atmosphere was nice and the service was friendly, though a bit slow at times. I really enjoyed the chicken and mushrooms — the dish was flavorful and well-cooked. It was a solid meal, but nothing that particularly stood out. If you’re in the area and looking for a decent bite, it’s worth a visit.

Im a big big fan of Cote Brasserie but this one was a great disappointment indeed i went for early dinner at 16.00 not really busy at all but the staff were talking and talking to each other the food was just ok my main course sea base not hot really desert again not as it should of been and the service was bad very bad personally i will not visit again.

Amazing food as always. Our go-to restaurant for the fish stew and the moules frites. The service is always excellent, but this time it was exceptional thanks to Fatmir who was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. He went above and beyond to make our dining experience special. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Ordered a full English with poached eggs. Eggs were fully cooked. Tried to look for a staff member and there was no one to be seen for 5minutes. In a few minutes found a piece of hair in my garden breakfast. Lousy service to start with. Food was stale.

Great time in this restaurant. From the moment I arrived I was welcomed and shown to a table. The team was lovely and attentive. I wasn’t sure what to have and they suggested me a dish. I went for a stew and it was amazing. Definitely I will be back soon thank you

Last night I had the pleasure of enjoying a fantastic fish stew that truly hit the spot on a cold January evening. The dish was packed with fresh seabass, succulent prawns, and tender mussels, all simmered in a rich tomato sauce that had just the right balance of depth and acidity. The addition of potatoes made it even heartier, and the finishing touch of fresh parsley added a lovely burst of flavor. The side of freshly baked bread was the perfect companion, allowing me to soak up every last bit of the delicious broth. It was the kind of meal that warms you from the inside out—pure comfort food at its best. A huge congratulations to the chef, whose attention to detail and passion for cooking truly shone through in this dish. The seafood was cooked to perfection, the flavors were beautifully layered, and every element felt thoughtfully prepared. It’s clear that the chef not only has great technical skills but also a deep understanding of how to create a dish that is both satisfying and memorable. And a special mention to the waiter, who was incredibly helpful and made the experience even more enjoyable. Exceptional food and outstanding service—I’ll definitely be coming back for this again!

Great experience! I am vegan and gluten free, they were able to put together a very substantial and tasty salad for me. Would definitely go there again!

We had the côte breakfast and the eggs royale. Everything was delicious, the poached eggs were particularly well done. I also tried the pain au chocolat, which was amazing (and I say this as a Frenchperson)

Estúpidamente reservado para la cena de cumpleaños con la familia, 9 de nosotros. Reservado específicamente porque el menú sonaba muy bien y acomodaba todas las dietas. Realmente desearía haber ido a otro lugar. La comida era mediocre en el mejor de los casos. El tiempo de espera era largo con platos que arrían en diferentes momentos, envié algunas cosas porque hacía frío, algunos artículos que me avergonzaría servir en casa y mucho menos en un restaurante francés. También sabían que estaba reservado para un cumpleaños habría sido encantador si como otros restaurantes que reconocen de alguna manera. Todos ordenamos que los desiertos podrían haber puesto una vela o feliz cumpleaños en un plato. Realmente quería que me gustara comprarlo, solo me fui sintiéndome increíblemente molesto por el dinero desperdiciado. Lo único positivo - nuestro camarero era encantador y el vino era bueno.

Been coming to this restaurant for work Christmas Dinner a few times. Always happy with the food and service.

We had a large party of folks for a late New Year's day lunch. The team was awesome and the food was great.

The food was incredible we had a cote de beauf to share, was cook and dress to perfection. The waiter was really attentive and proactive and accommodating about my other friend allergies/intolerances. We had an amazing time with wonderful food and wine. Thank you everyone. Definitely a place we will be back.

Not only a good choice of cheeses but that Paris-Brest .. that’s something else. Decadent! Well worth the 900kcal. Hah!

We were visiting London overnight and wanted somewhere for dinner. I had noted on the booking form that it was our anniversary, but didn't really expect an acknowledgement. The taxi took us to Marylebone Village and the Christmas lights were stunning, a beautiful start. We were met by Marina, who was great, attentive and helpful, she and Josè served us superbly throughout the evening. The food was very good, the service sublime, even though they were very busy, the atmosphere was buzzing with the pre-Christmas rush. The desert dish had a happy anniversary message on it We had a brilliant evening, our local Cote, in Birmingham, has closed, but this was a wonderful reminder that when Cote get it right, few other restaurants can keep up!! Thank you to everyone at Cote for making our evening such a great one.

Unfortunately this restaurant seems to be poorly managed or under funded or without the required staff to deliver the established and appealing Cote experience. Tried to be as constructive as possible as I would love to return because I am generally a big fan of Cote and I will refine this review if it does change. 1. Very messy. From the table being chipped, the menus being worn, the toilets under cleaned with leaky taps, general staff areas spewing into the walk ways of customers (dirty serviettes, sauces, dishes, cups around the coffee machine). This makes it feel very much not premium in any way, there are cleaner and more organised pubs and builder cafes! This needs immediate change for sure. 2. Sloppy experience. I will go on to talk about the service but it just felt like we were irrelevant as a table for example 50% of the servings on our table were missing a fork when we sat down, no dishes to have our bread and olives so we have to use the table as a plate, we had staff members eating on their break behind us on TikTok. This are obvious areas to improve to make it feel more elevated. 3. Service was poor. Well at least we got a waiter that really did not want to be there. Having to ask him over and over for a drink that we ordered, not getting sauce that comes with the meal. Just feeling like you are being a nuisance for eating there. It’s not the only place that has this in London but you would expect consistent standards at Cote. 4. The food was fine but missing the needed flair that Cote used to do and advertises. I ordered the Sirloin steak medium rare. To be fair, it was a decently cooked steak. It was very odd 1. Have it pre cut up like I’m a child - just meant it was colder to eat and 2. to have parsley on the side with just one onion slice. The garlic butter came (after 10 mins of asking the waiter) and it was soo cold with the steak lukewarm that it didn’t melt so I felt like I was just buttery bread which was a shame so didn’t use that. The chips were great though and other people’s food look good! I’m sure there is a good meal to have when it is less busy but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the usual Cote standards.

Aunque la comida llegó bastante rápido, el lugar estaba sucio, con muchos recibos viejos tirados en el suelo, y uno de los camareros sacó una bolsa grande de servilletas limpias junto a nuestra mesa en el suelo, y luego lo dejó bien abierto. La comida era muy mediocre y los baños necesitan una buena limpieza y una revisión. No se recomienda.

Scallops Steak frite creme caramel my go to faves 👌 a very tasty combination 😋 Splashed out on a double G&T at £12.50 arrived in a tall skinny glass with a sprig of rosemary but not as fragrant or flavourful as I expected ...would prefer a goblet with Med fever tree ...feels more opulent ... Great service slick , efficient , professional and didn't hurry you out of the door and it was surprisingly busy ... The £39 Christmas 3 course menu looks interesting...next time !

I have been going to Cotè for a good few years now and I am afraid that it has gone downhill recently.. Service is appalling and staff just seem to not be bothered about making it a good experience... Manager very efficient and pleasant person.. Just need more caring staff... The restaurant's food is halal and its taste is delicious, but its price is bitter

We had a party of 12 people yesterday and two babies. The Cote front of house team was excellent, service was outstanding and the food was all perfect. A perfect place to have a party.

Diez de nosotros fuimos a comer con mi hijo la noche antes de su boda. Tuvimos una comida fantástica. Fuimos muy bien atendidos por Guille y Barbara. Habían oído que mi hijo se iba a casar y amablemente nos dieron un poco de efervescencia para celebrar. Fue un toque encantador y muy apreciado. Pedimos desde el menú de precio fijo y no decepcionó. Fue una noche muy concurrida, pero el personal era atento, amable y amable. Sin duda volveremos a visitar.

This place is great. I went here one morning for a hot chocolate and it tasted great, it was one of the best hot chocolates I ever had. The service was also great, food was served fast and the employees where very friendly too, checking up on me from time to time to see if everything was good. The place was so good that I went there the next day for breakfast and oh my was it fantastic. I ordered the English breakfast and for its price it made me stuffed and it tasted so great. I would definitely recommend this place

The service and food was well below the standard delivered by other Cote restaurants we have visited. It took over 2.5 hours to deliver a 2 course lunch plus coffee. Two dishes arrived lukewarm and one was forgotten then replaced. No one Seemed interested if we liked the food. We did receive a discount for the mix up and non delivery of one menu item and at least they did not charge service for the poor service. Will not be going back . This was meant to be a treat for friends visiting from Australia instead it was an embarassment of low standards .

I booked a table for lunch prior to an important medical appointment. I purposely arrived early so as not to rush. My order was taken and I sat for half an hour watching as other customers without bookings were served ahead of me. The manageress, who courteously informed me that she had noticed my food had not arrived, by which time I was already thinking I had better leave due to time but as a polite English woman on a certain age i sat a while longer. She returned 10 mins later with my main course and said my starter would follow, I said i did not want my starter after my main course. I ate my steak frites which after all of that tasted like school food. The manageress complimented my meal (so a star for that) then she explained the kitchen was having a tough day… well not as tough as mine as it turned out ! A good lunch might have helped. I won’t go back.

Stopped for a breakfast. There was a couple in the restaurant awaiting serving and one couple paying their bill, so hardly busy. Service took a while, ordered a breakfast sandwich and cappuccino. Poor quality and yet £17.55 later (the nerve of including a service charge without asking if that was acceptable or not) I’d never return! Yes you read that correctly - nearly £18 for a sandwich and cappuccino. Awful!

We had a wonderful time in Cote Marylebone. Barbara and Ola were very welcoming and professional. They really made our visit special, just as the rest of the team. Can't wait to be back and feel at home.

Just the place we needed after a day of travelling. Friendly and efficient staff, relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. Loved the ratatouille and the seafood parmentier. The berry soda was refreshing too. Typical London it started to rain just as we sat down outside, but the staff were super accommodating with us moving indoors. It wasn't much of a wait at all for our meal - much appreciated after a busy (and hungry) day out. Thank you to the staff who were so terrific and to the chef!

Always enjoy Cote. This was a nice experience. The food was on point. Service was also good. One drink order was wrong but not an issue for me, just got a small wine glass instead of a large. No issue as charged correctly. Overall no complaints really.

I decided to share everything that happened with you all because I will never go back here again. I felt like leaving the moment I sat down in the chair I was shown, but once I had settled down I decided to order a meal and a drink. However, I must admit that I immediately thought that was the wrong choice. A rude male waiter from start to finish, it is hard to suppress the desire to ask the owner how such a rude waiter could work here. The male waiter at this brasserie should go study at Cote in Sloane Square and redo his customer service. ‼︎ And then there is the food. The fish fry was so bad I thought it was dog food. No, your dog would not eat such bad fish fries. The fries are over-fried and the flour is not uniform. Who made them? Finally, the rude and offensive male waiter was also offensive and racist when paying. I love the other Cote, but it is unfortunately true that this Cote in Marylebone has lousy staff and food. Once you go, you will understand why this brasserie is empty.

Nice food, incredibly slow and inattentive service

I had a burger at the Marylebone location and was good, I ordered 4 burgers to be delivered and they were very dry, overcooked and sloppy looking even though I was no more than 3 minutes walk from my hospital where I was staying. Disappointed to say the least. That’s why I am giving them 2 stars.

Environment was nice as usual. Slightly overpriced for breakfast but the considered economic for 2 or 3-course meal throughout the day. I had breakfast today and it was below average with minimal plating and the taste of food was acceptable. Generally, I had no expectations for servicing and didn’t expect anyone to smile. Yet the poor attitude of the waitress really surprised me. I do not feel respected as a person and customer, with the don’t-wanna-be-here and grumpy demeanour. And I still needed to pay a service charge for that. In a nutshell, it was an awful experience for the breakfast period today.

I visited with some colleagues for a meal. Ordered 3 meals and two sides. Only one side arrived with the meals. I mentioned it to the waitress who said she would sort it. A waiter then enquired if everything was alright and I mentioned the missing side dish again. The side dish never arrived! Overall the meal was quite good. The restaurant is in a nice location just off Marylebone high street, unfortunately the service let it down.

Vegetarian ratatouille was more like a stew. And a tasteless one at best.

My first visit to this branch and it was a bad experience I made a reservation and received an email and message approving the reservation. When I arrived, the manager told me that there was no reservation I was in an embarrassing situation because I had guests with me There was an Egyptian young man who saved the situation and arranged a table for us

5 stars all around. 9 out of ten on the meal and thats HUGE for me. Nothing bad to say. First class staff and food. We'll be back.

Ali was our host and we were really lucky to have him. He looked after me and my partner and he suggested the best meal and wine. The food was really tasty and fresh. We felt really welcomed and taken care of. Definitely coming back x

Quite comical how combatant servers are here with customers… left in the middle of a meal. No wonder the place is empty during busy lunch hours in Marylebone.

It is a lovely place to relax and have a wonderful time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A always had oat latter. I recommend it for anyone to try it, and your experience will be fantastic.

So cold in the restaurant, bread wasn’t warm or toasted where it has been in over Côte’s in the uk, steak came out cold also. Only ate half of it before it was too cold to consume. Expected more from Marylebone.

I went here with my family for lunch they told us to wait 15-20 minutes to get a table because it was full when we came back they had a perfect table for and and they had the kids menu with reasonable prices and the food was very good

After quite a nice breakfast I asked for the bill. The waitress came over with the card machine and I asked to pay cash and she looked startled and waived the card machine at me and said no sorry we don’t accept! I said well nowhere is it written anywhere! I was fuming. I didn’t want to have to pay by card but I did. So annoying. I should have insisted as I was well within my rights. After all it is legal tender! Very disappointing experience.

The food was good. I reccommend the Eggs Shakshuka with beans and toast. The eggs benedict was pretty small tho. The french toast was not too sweet which pairs well with the fruit and cream.

Wouldn’t choose this place by myself. Visited the restaurant before for breakfast in another city and it was ok , but this time was invited for dinner and didn’t like it at all. Food wasn’t great as well as the wine. Much better fish pie even can be found in the supermarkets.

Food is litterally rubbish not much else to say

Maybe it’s London in its entirety. My tastebuds are giving me an ultimatum. The texture is there and on-point, the flavours are too watery, and the unami is nonexistent. The service is lackluster at best.

I popped in to Cote for lunch and was impressed by the food and the service. The French onion soup was amazing on a cold day. Guille was a fantastic and very attentive waiter. I loved it so much I returned for dinner. The Camembert with honeyed tomatoes was divine, as was the chocolate fondant. Highly recommend!

Love the ambience here, good Service and good food. Steak friters with chips and dont for get tabasco :) after salad offcourse I also try the Ice cream for dessert.. YUMMY

The consistency of this Cote is special. It never fails to deliver on food and service. And I speak as a regular.

Lovely breakfast, friendly and attentive staff. My friends were visiting from Vienna. Perfect place to meet. We sat outside, street side dining, great atmosphere and lucky with the weather.

We’re visiting London from the US and a local friend recommended this cafe. The decor and atmosphere were both elegant and comfortable. We got the charcuterie platter which was good but the portions were a bit skimpy but not particularly out of line. All of our main dishes were excellent. My husband got French Onion Soup, which he really loved. My friend got a vegetarian mushroom dish she’d had once before and had a hankering for. She said it was just as good as her previous visit. I got a lamb dish with a curry sauce and French fries and everything was excellent. For dessert I got a seasonal strawberry rhubarb muddle that was also delicious! I definitely wish it had been bigger. So yummy! Service was very good but I dropped a star because we kept having to ask for water and it took awhile to get the dessert ordered.

May I start this review by simply saying I am a big fan of Cote, its food and service offering. I believe its one of the few London restaurants that offer value for money. A frequent regular at Cote Christoper Place, Covent Garden and occasionally Devonshire Street. Whilst I cannot fault the former restaurant locations at any point we had a dreadful dining experience at Cote Devonshire Street Wednesday last with a friend for a 2pm lunch booking. In brief - table for 2 sandwiched in a far end corner and clearly we were forgotten about, service terribly slow and waiting for drinks/ food order and chasing starters & mains throughout - starters arrived in small plates ( soggy salad overflowing on a very small (saucer size plate with no room to manoeuvre/cut)- on complaining I was informed by our waiter that the kitchen had "run out of plates!!!!!". Main courses took an age to arrive and when we chased our food we were informed by the manager "there were only 2 chefs on duty and little else could be done". No attempt to placate the diner made - full service charge whacked on the bill. Food was mediocre at best - We then sat with finished dishes strewn accross our table and all adjoining tables for another 1.5 hours (nothing cleared or removed) - we were not offered a dessert, tea or coffee. Absolutely abysmal service from this otherwise good restaurant. I was also informed by my dining partner that the female toilet cleanliness "left allot to be desired". Overall a very disappointing Cote dining experience and I for one will not be returning to this location. I suspect inexperienced management & waiting staff played a significant part in all of the obvious chaos. Such a pity that one outpost can very much "let down" an otherwise good performing brand.

Solid and consistent fare. My daughter and I love the moules frites and a steak minute. Shame they changed the tomatoes salad that was exceptional with a delicious vinegar that made the dish (xeres perhaps)

Asparagus starter was good. Had Breton fish stew main course. Could have had more flavour..... but was o.k. Busy and waiting staff took a while to take tea and coffee order at end of the meal.

We are Cote devotees and have generally had a good experiences there. We happened upon the Marylebone branch quite by chance and chose to eat breakfast there this morning. We were greeted warmly by the manager and seated by the window. Order was taken very quickly and our coffees and juice arrived witihin a few minutes. We waited about 15 mins for the breakfasts to arrive. However, my eggs royale were covered in hollandaise sauce ( I always ask for it on the side and did so on this occasion). I pointed the error out to the waiter and he took it away to replace, along with my husband’s cooked breakfast . We were not in a rush and therefore didn’t complain when our breakfasts failed to return quickly. However, as we waited and waited for our breakfasts to return, other customers who arrived after us were being served theirs. We were assured on several occasions that it would be five minutes, then another five minutes, then another five minutes. Eventually the manager came over to me and apologised for the wait. Another five minutes later the breakfasts arrived. They were very good and we were content that mistakes happen and the manager had been very apologetic. When the time came to pay however, the manager told us our wait had been unacceptable and made a very generous gesture to compensate for our wait. Credit where it’s due and as a result we would return when we next visit our son in London.

Casual fancy. The bread is fresh!

We stayed 5 minutes waiting in the entrance for a waiter to come and greet us; they were all looking at the menu or tablet without looking at the customers. Before leaving, one of them finally came to seat us. The customers next to our table who arrived after us ordered before… the wait to order was long, as was the wait to be served. All for poor value for money in a noisy atmosphere.
