Staff is attentive and available to accommodate any request. It's a family-run business and it shows, in the most positive sense. Great variety of curries, with very fast service and good quality. Portion size more than adequate. Some issues paying by cards that worked flawlessly before and after, maybe due to limitations of their device or provider. Anyway, staff was helpful in finding a solution.

Use to be really good but now a groggy place with no atmosphere and after 22 years they now decide to sell only alcohol free drinks, no good.

Best Indian food I've ever had, cheap and tasty!

Our family has been going to Rajpoot for many years, both for takeaway and dine-in. We always enjoy the food and service! The staff/owners are all lovely and their food is delicious and very reasonably priced. I'd always recommend Rajpoot 💙

Very disappointed we have a take away almost weeks But unfortunately tonight the starter tasted like cleaning fluid and the smell when opened was horrendous Spoken to them they said it was mustard and was argumentative Lol I like mustard It has put me of ordering again from them again

Says Indian but does not have minimum basics of different items. Dark empty place. Not inviting. I wonder how did they get 4.3 review where there is so many good option in this town. Wrong taste, wrong orders, I wonder about food hygiene as well. It is a no go place

We ordered a chicken korma for our son while we were out for the evening. Unfortunately it arrived with a massive long hair in it. Needless to say we had to throw it away.

I remember when the rajpoot was a bit further up the road, in a different (now demolished) building. Ive been coming to the Rajpoot on and off 30 years and it has never dissapointed me. The staff have always been welcoming and the food has always been terrific. Back again this weekend for the first time in a few years on a flying visit to Taunton and once again, great food, great freindly service (one of the waiters actually remembered one of my mates from years ago). Will be back again soon I hope. and make sure you get puppadoms and pickle tray here, the pupadoms are melt in the mouth and the condiemsnt servings are really good and generous

We ordered a big delivery as had friends over, the chicken was nice and soft, yummy crispy onion bhajis, all flavours was just spot on. Highly recommend. This was our first time we ordered from Rajpoot and we will definitely order again. Delivery was on time and we got a free bottle of cola.

Ordered a takeaway earlier this evening as I am staying in a local hotel but was in need of a good Indian meal. It was fabulous and they even provided some plastic cutlery. Would definitely recommend this place.

If you're visiting Taunton, this place is a must! We loved our experience here. We got the Peshwari Chicken, Cheese Naan, and steamed rice and loved it. The Peshwari has the perfect amount of heat, and I'm not normally someone who likes a kick. Overall, loved our experience!

I went here with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint. The food was extremely authentic, very well presented and tasted amazing. The staff were very caring and attentive. The actual restaurant was very clean and had a nice warm atmosphere to it, whilst being situated next to a very near (free after 6pm) car park. Everything about my visit was great and made our anniversary one to remember for all the right reasons. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Quiet Monday evening, good food at a reasonable price with attentive staff

Probably the best Indian in town! Food always tastes fresh and cooked properly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very friendly, the staff members very welcoming and the service is spot on every time! Been having takeaways from this restaurant for over two years now and it never disappointed! 👌🏻

Service isn't very polite or professional, we felt quite rushed whilst we were there. I ordered cider and we noticed that it came from a big plastic cheap bottle and tasted like it did. The menu is unnecessarily huge with so many options on it and makes it so confusing as well as no easy indicators as to whether the dish is vegetarian or the spice level. Once we had ordered the drinks menu was taken away as well. The poppadoms were nice but the mango chutney tasted cheap with no flavour to it. After ordering a medium curry thinking it would have some spice to it, it tasted completely bland and undercooked as the beans in it were crunchy. The rice was dry and not fluffy at all. Honestly I was surprised it wasn't microwaved rice considering the quality of everything else. The onion bhajis and pakoras were totally dry but also greasy at the same time and were very clearly cooked from frozen. The samosas were also incredible bland and undercooked. Once it got round to paying the bill, it was a handwritten piece of paper in some weird code so splitting the bill was really difficult because we didn't know which to split between who. Honestly I've had a better curry from a supermarket ready meal. I can't believe an Indian restaurant would make their food so bland. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience. The food was excellent. We love Indian food and every time we go away we always try the local Indian. Needless to say we have tried loads and this was one of the very best. The waiters were very attentive and didn't just take our order they took the time to discuss our food and make recommendations.

So I placed an order through foodhub for delivery and 20 minutes later get a call from restaurant saying they couldn't deliver that far. Tye whole point in food ordering apps is to offer a range of miles for customers where you are happy to deliver to. Very disappointed and now I have zero funds for another option for takeaway as the refund is not immediate. Shame I didn't get a chance to check out their actual food... hopefully I get tmy refund asap

After years of eating in Indian restaurants around the Midlands, my chicken madras may have been chicken but it certainly wasn’t madras. In fact it was the same as my partners who had a medium chicken curry. So if you want Indian go elsewhere because this food isn’t.

It's a hybrid between transport cafe and traditional Indian. That is in no way a bad thing, on the contrary, Instead of focusing on the decor the food takes centre stage. The staff are delightful and the food ticks every box. You can relax, enjoy and just be yourself without the restriction dining in a posh restaurant brings, all without losing flavour. I love this place... Shall we poot? It would be rude not too.

All our dishes tasted the same. My balti was yellow in colour and tasted of coconut. My husband's jalfrezi was very similar, as was mum's Kashmir. Processed chicken chunks used in the food. Poor, unfriendly, unsmiling service, despite my parents being regular visitors. They wouldn't sell us two glasses of Pinot Grigio: it was house white or nothing. Given a table next to 25 loud, drunk people, even though the restaurant was quiet. We couldn't even have a conversation. No acknowledgement as we left. Really very bad, in so many ways!

Impersonal service and food was OK but nothing special so surprised by the more positive views. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad night. Restaurant decor was looking a bit shabby too and plastic poppadom plate was dirty round the edges. Disappointing.

Really enjoyed the food and service here. Very helpful to an uneducated American couple who wanted to have curry in the UK! Highly recommend for a quiet lunch with good views.

This is by far the best 'value for money' Indian restaurant and take-away in town.

first time back there for a good few years, and first impression was not good, looked like a school canteen, the seating and the decor were so outdated certainly did not feel or look like an Indian restaurant. The starters were 1st class but the 3 main course meals all looked and tasted the same, like thick soup. Very disappointed..

We fancied a curry, this was one of the only places open. A bit lacking in the decorative stakes, needs a good make over. The food was nice, nothing special and they did get my friends order wrong.

I am confused by these good reviews. Went there as part of a large group and the seating was aweful. The waiter kept bumping into us and the service was dreadful. We wanted a starter and was told 'nobody else is having one... !!!' Then the food came and it was so sweet. Everything tasted the same. He waiter snatched plates away as I barely finished. I had to hold my plate down. He asked about drinks but didn't even wait for a reply. Perhaps I have been spoilt by better restaurants but people who say it is the best in Taunton really need to open their world and visit other places... Then you would have something to compare it to. As another review stated ... Buy some frozen food, cook it in the microwave and it will be far better

Horrible, out of 12 dishes ordered not even one single dish was even average(forget about good) even the basic Dhaal fry was very bad ( cooked with old dhal), this restaurant has all symptoms of bad restaurant, to start with the papad was stinking with old reused oil, all 12 dish came out within 15 minutes, Chinna shall was blood red and horribly tasing, saag pannier was so bad we just took one spoon, achari chicken was spelling with raw chilly powder and with wired sweet(cooked by some one who had no clue of what is a Achari chicken) Please do a favor to yourself - go buy some frozen Indian food, heat and eat you will not be disappointed when compared to this restaurant food,

Had takeout meal. It was amazing. The best I’ve found in Taunton so far. Naan was fresh, soft and delicious. Curries were brilliant and the mushroom rice and lemon rice was very good. Excellent value for money. Staff very polite and pleasant.

Excellent meal with good service. Thoroughly enjoyed choosing from the vast menu. Doesn't look that appealling outside but once through the door the service and food make up for it.

Excellent quality food, exceptional prices. Only reason given a 4 is because staff aren't the most conversational, its usually a grab food and get out experience, and it's sometimes nice to have a casual conversation while you wait, but I can't fault them at all really. Everytime I eat the food is amazing and full of flavour.

This place tops my favourite Indian food place to eat in. Fantastic customer service. The waiters are so accomadating Food is quick to be served I normally hit my limit at Madras, but it seems they are a bit milder than average and could happily take on a Vindaloo! (I think next time I'll challenge myself to the Phall!)

Cheap food amazing atmosphere staff go above n beyond expectations

Very disappointed with this place. It's going down hill... table very small to accommodate 4 people. Every meal ordered is ruined by the large amount of onions and hardly no meat. Very poor flavour and every meal looks the same. I don't think they put much effort in the Base sauce. Will not be coming back here again. My not to visit places.

Good reasonably priced curry house

While I admit this is not the cheapest Indian restaurant in town, it is by far the best. Food is fabulous every time.

We have a takeaway or sit in the restaurant a few times a year. Everytime the food has been of a good standard and they produce the best garlic naans if you really like garlic.

Had food delivered, absolutely awful. I assume this is rare considering the other reviews. Cold curries and raita had no mint and smelt off. No refund as we paid by cash. Won't be ordering again.

Happened in here on a Thursday - great deal Thursdays with starter main rice/naan & dessert all for £11.00 - genuine attentive but not bothersome staff - good portions - deffo five stars
