The best part of the dinner was the starter. The drinks were good and the lady that served us was pleasant . The rest? Well...the mains took a long time to come, to the point that one of our party started nodding off. When the mains finally arrived most of it lacked any taste, salt and pepper wouldn't have saved it. Everyone left disappointed after paying a £204 bill. Very over priced for the offering. We'll steer clear from this restaurant when we come back to Center Parcs.

There are a number of negative reviews online, but our experience was generally positive. The food itself was tasty enough, I'd recommend the poppadom platter to start and can also vouch for the Madras, which was a nice level of heat. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, what you'd expect at a Center Parcs. I would echo a lot of the comments regarding prices though, which are extremely high (just under £17 for a curry with chicken), so this would prevent us making it a staple visit each time we stay at Center Parcs.

For £106 you would expect a hell of a lot more. All containers were less than a 3rd full, mini naans soaked in oil, mushroom bhaji with more onion than mushroom, undercooked carrots and hardly any other veg in the vegetable jalfrezi. How this shoddy outfit is in business is a surprise. Strongly suggest you DO NOT order from this place at all.

I was on vacation with my family at Centre Parks, we saw the restaurant serving Indian cuisine, the atmosphere looked decent. The staff were polite and service was good. However , I myself have been to several curry houses and indian/ Pakistani takeaways and restaurants throughout my life, I myself of that heritage. I was incredibly disappointed with the quality of food. The curries were bland and looked suspiciously like a microwaved meal, the food had hideous texture and was of embarrassingly low quality. Out of all that I ordered the most U ate were chips, the Indian food here is not good, at all. Don’t waste your time and tongue coming here to taste the disgusting substances disguised as food. Please, you deserve better.

Pretty poor to be honest. All the curries are microwaved to an inch of their lives. Would be acceptable if you paid £10 for a meal deal in Tesco but not when they are charging close to £20 just for a curry before you order rice etc. Should be much better. Waitress was very nice and poppadom starter acceptable, as was the draught Cobra, otherwise would be 1 star.

So poor, food was appalling. Onion bhajis were inedible, like dust. Curries were less appealing than ready meals and it was so expensive and over priced. £18.95 for a butter chicken… worth nothing that this didn’t include rice or any sides either. With these prices we had high expectations, but wished we’d read the reviews before wasting our time and money on food we could’ve bought from the supermarket. It was also clear the staff were aware of how terrible the food was given their low morale and general poor customer service… almost expectant of a complaint. Sky high prices and very small portion size. My 10 year old son ate off the children's menu and his main course was 2 small salmon bites with 2 pieces of cucumber and half a tomato. It was barely enough to feed a toddler and as I fed this back to the waitress, it was evident it wasn't the first time she had heard a similar complaint. The bill was just under £200 for 4 adults and 2 children. The meals were supermarket microwave standard at best. Avoid unless you have small appetites and money to burn.

Four of us went out for a birthday meal, it come to a staggering £183 for what I can tell you was one of the smallest portions of food & so so underwhelming. Not a proper curry house - do not go. Dreadful. Ridiculous price for the quality of food. When the food came out my rice was hard and hardly cooked, waiter stuck her thumb in the bowl to see as she was walking away, was told another was coming out to then be told they had no more rice. WHAT INDIAN RESTAURANT RUNS OUT OF RICE?! Food wasn't flavoursome at all, no spice, cold, hardly any sauce with the curries and the greasy poppadom platter had a sauce which tasted of bbq sauce, sorry what?! Ordered a chilli naan that has 0 chilli on or inside, just lots of pepper. Overall the worst indian restaurant I have ever experienced. Hate constantly reading reviews about “how much such and such has gone down hill” but deterioration of this restaurant is unreal. Service was sub par, had to request drinks after 10mins of waiting with the restaurant virtually empty and staff standing around chatting. Lady at front desk was lovely and friendly otherwise rest of staff didn’t even bother to smile. Food was horrid, I know from previous history that biryani’s are lovely at this restaurant but this one was a complete let down. Zero spice, zero flavour, like warm. Tasted like something you would break £2 into at a supermarket. To top it all off the bill comes along and the staff make a point in front of everyone to let you know a default 7% service charge has been included and that you would need to let them know you want this removed from the bill (passive aggressive levels of service). This restaurant used to be one of the best things about centre parcs, I won’t be returning again it was horrid. £85 for a meal for 2 completely ruined the holiday.

Wow, what’s happened? YEARS ago this was amazing. There was a native Indian chef, amazing food and service. The “food” today was genuinely inedible. I don’t usually moan and complain, as it’s embarrassing but we had to today. We got our starters, both chicken (wings and tikka) and they were HORRENDOUS. The wings are baked (more like microwaved) and were slimey, flavourless and sat in a pool of pissy microwaved sauce. The chicken tikka starter was grey, beyond slimey and had was clearly microwaved in a plastic bag. It STANK, like it was off. We both took one bite of our starters, then put it aside. The manager graciously took it off our bill, with no stress or pressure. I feel we arent the first to mention how horrid the food was. We paid our bill and declined our mains, feeling ill after the disgusting starters. Please dont read this and think i’m a food snob being fussy. I’m not. This was absolutely disgusting. Centre Parcs are saving money to increase profit margins, pumping out awful, awful food to their high-paying customers. This was my 8th+ visit to CP & Rajinda and will be my last on both counts.

Attended today with my family. Nice waiter, but the rest was disappointing and I would recommend avoiding. It was very expensive, which I actually don’t mind but I expect the food and service to match the price tag. Poppadoms were fine (you can’t do them wrong right?) although mint salad for them was disappointing - very small portions of badly chopped red onion with nothing else. It’s my fave poppadom topping so I was disappointed. Then it was over an hour until our mains came; the waiter kept coming over and saying won’t be long. When it arrived, a girl came and didn’t know what was in any of the dishes she had on her tray. She just kept stiring and flicking them about saying to us ‘I think this is chicken, anyone order a chicken one?’ Etc. then she said the kitchen had messed up and took the last one back to check what it was, before coming back with it. They were all barely warm - so we think there was a mess up and they must have been on the side a long time. My sister in laws had a chicken dish, and found a chicken bone in it the size of a 50p, which put her off the rest of her meal. Dangerous too as my nephew had been eating some of our food. When asked if everything was ok, we don’t like complaining but I did mention the chicken as 1) dangerous 2) unacceptable and she left half her food as didn’t feel safe eating the rest. The waiter informed the kitchen but said he couldn’t not the charge off for it as the menu had a disclaimer saying there may be dangerous bones in the food… Then we discussed tip, and not the waiters fault but it was an awful meal and we were going to leave £5 but they went ahead an added service charge equating to nearly £12. Meal which was just poppadoms, mains and one set of drinks (only two of which were alcohol) was £167 for 5 adults. I really would not recommend going. There are lots of other restaurants on site and chains which I think would be better

We have ordered variety of curry’s, shared rice and Naans. To be honest the only good thing about it was Naans. Curries were so salty we needed water to wash it down. Portions were small too and for the money that you pay it’s actually a joke. We usually share rice when we order takeaway usually but it’s definitely only one portion in box. We've been to this restaurant twice, once at Nottingham and once at Elveden. We've been disappointed both times The vegan options are terrible, no protein in any of them, just a random mix of vegetables. It feels like they just use whatever vegetables are left over. I had a bhuna this time round and a quarter of the dish was taken up by an uncooked tomato. I finished my meal in about 2 minutes because the portion was so poor. And it cost over £20, which is disgusting. I didn't have a naan bread this time because the vegan naan bread was so bad at the Nottingham restaurant. My partners food as a non-vegan has been average, never worth the incredibly high prices. It's a huge shame because the staff are always very nice, although service is generally slow. And the restaurants are always beautifully decorated. I dont think we'll be returning.

Like surprises? Go for this place. Order a main curry and get it served in tiny little side bowl. In fact order a curry worth £17.95 and get an item with fresh (uncooked and raw) tomato sauce. M&S ready meals have better tasting curries than 5/5 curries we ordered including some veggie sides. I’ll give them the mediocre tasting mushroom curry side. NOTHING other than that was curry like, tasty, or flavourful at all. Food: I’d rate the naan breads and Pepsi max as the best tasting items of our order. Rice was left in the microwave far too long so got the plastic beads in form of rice. Jalfrezi was brownish black curry with raw tomato zing. Potato side dish was roast potatoes skin on, swimming in oil and herbs. 30-60ml of oil at least. Starters wise samosa were barely fried. White and light coloured pastry on samosa is a first sign of bad Indian chef. Paneer tikka with raw paneer again no attempt to shallow fry, roast or cooking was made. I’d say that’s acceptable as some places don’t cook the paneer BUT the sauce is expected to have salt, spices and not just canned tomatoes churned mixed with heavy cream. All in all they’ve westernised what they think is Indian food to a point of no return. At 9:30 we were told kitchen was closed without prior notice. We did place a massive order at 8:45 and did notify the waiter we would order more to which the response was ‘yes of course’. Come 9:30 the kitchen was closed. We were way too hungry to try elsewhere. So ended up ordering naan breads the only thing available to order and had them with Pepsi max. Ambience: The music is on point. 10/10 for authentic Indian music playlist. Staff were overall friendly BUT not happy to be at work by the looks of it. Service: Quick efficient service but you’d expect that when they’re serving food that won’t be sniffed by our four legged friends. Would not return, food this awful, prices unjustifiable and attitude of the business was overall not worth your money or time. If you’re at Centre Parcs, take time to drive 5miles to town and there’s far better Indian options we tried the next night.

Was sat down to table & within 5 minutes witness the manager telling all the staff off at the front bar. If anything like that needs to be done then do it out of sight of customers. The manager just walked around with a bad vibe, could see other people not very happy either. It felt awkward & tense. Food was average. Popadom platter starter was nice but all main meals ok; nothing special & really overpriced. Only had a sharing starter, 1 main each & 1 drink each & still paid about £40 per head for 6 people. Katy our waitress was lovely, very helpful, kind & provided recommendations for our starters. Hence the 4 stars. Was a bit busy so service was a little slow otherwise would have given 5 for service. Not Katy’s fault obviously. Wouldn’t recommend coming here; probably the same quality curry if you went to the shop & bought a microwave meal.

Overall it's not great, not terrible. It's everything you'd expect from a center parcs - a safe, inoffensive family friendly menu. Food itself was average quality. Prices are very high - £17.50 for a Lamb Korma is bonkers. We paid nearly £100 (including the deposit and the service charge) for three mains, two rices, two breads and the poppadom platter. Staff were lovely and attentive throughout.

Incredibly disappointed with the food, none of the chefs had any knowledge of Indian food. For an Indian restaurant there needs to be somebody who has experience of cooking Indian food the correct way. The biryani tasted like cheese, the lamb curry was sour. The only way you could tell that the food was Indian was because of the name. I would not recommend eating here as the other restaurants are much better. However the service was good and the staff were incredibly nice its just a shame the food was so bad. For the food to be so expensive I would have expected better and not curry that tasted worse than something from Tescos, especially when we spent £500.

Our group of six were confused by the quantity of negative reviews. We had a fantastic meal for a 60th birthday celebration, everything was delicious, the server was lovely, and everyone was happy! No complaints here.

I wasn’t sure about trying this restaurant due to the large number of negative reviews, but I’m so glad I did. The food, service and atmosphere were all great. Was it over priced? Yes. Was it authentic Indian cuisine? No It’s Center Parcs people. All the restaurants are overpriced and not authentic! This is the best restaurant I have visited in Elveden Forest, and I will definitely come back on my next stay.

Worked out about £35 per head for poppadoms and a main (sharing rice and naan) so quite expensive. The curries were nice, not especially big portions. Attentive staff. Very empty inside.

Feel bad leaving a 1 star, but 1 star is fair. The food here is awful, there's no 2 ways about it. Had a takeaway, and it's the worst Indian takeaway in living memory. It was reminiscent of the bargain basement 'curry' you get in asda. But was worse than even that. Massively overpriced, even for center parcs. £15 for a few pony prawns in what was little more than red water. Jesus christ. I can't believe that they thinkj serving food this bad is acceptable. The management and chefs must know how bad the food is. Hucks is 1,000,000 times better.

This was the most horrendous Indian I’ve ever tasted - stay away - whinfell forest centr park, just throw £100 on your wood burner, the experience will be better………Shish kebab starter looked and tasted worse than dog food - mains were shocking tasteless and also worse than the worse curry ready meal - not recommended - save your money.

Popadoms we’re good. Everything else was bang average to rubbish. £5 for rice, £5 for naan. Double the price of any curry house, not worth it at all.

Great service and atmosphere. Food was good too but very expensive compared to other Indian restaurants. Payment is cashless only. Service charge is added automatically.

Mediocre and overpriced curry. Charged £15+ for jar of curry sauce over dry meat. The nice ambience and great service got it the two stars!

Have only had takeaways from here a couple of times but food is always top notch. Didn't give 5 stars only because I haven't eaten in restaurant. If my relatives are to be believed then they would award 5⭐

My second delivery order (via Just Eat.) Can't rate it highly enough . Fantastic food, I ordered the Beef Jalfrezi on both occasions & it was delicious. I also recommend the House special curry.

We have been going to Montaz since it opened with family, friends, for great occasions and just for fun. It has always been our favourite Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant in the Cambridge area. We also think that it is one of the best in England and this is not just my opinion but that of many friends from London who compare it to the best that the capital city offers. We had not eaten at Montaz for a while (we had done take away) and it was great to be there, to discuss the dishes, plan a great meal and enjoy the atmosphere. This was a new menu and so we went to town experimenting with these new dishes. We started with a special Lamb's Liver Somosas. Don't be put off, they were brilliant and fragrant with tamarind sauce and chutney. The Chicory Chat was delicious and refreshing. The main courses were suberb. The Tandoori Guinea Fowl was tender, crisp outside and full of great tandoor flavours. The Talapia Fish with Green Beans was in a rich unctuous sauce and melted in your mouth. Duck Chilli Korai was just one of the best Korai dishes that I have ever had with tender duck morsels with a great depth of flavours. The Paneer Makhani had such a great buttery, tomato sauce. I adore mushroms but the Mushroom Hara Pyaz was out of this world with the mushrooms, peppers and onions making a perfect mushroom dish. Yes, a great meal.

We have been a regular customer of the Spice Lounge for many years and have always found the food and service to be first class. We would thoroughly recommend them and clearly all the awards they have won are well deserved.
