Maybe I’ve been spoiled from living in London for too many years so having relocated to Halesworth last month I was looking forward to having my first Indian takeaway. We ordered from the specials menu and went to pick it up at the allotted time. Five minutes later on getting home all of it especially the Naan bread and rice was half cold. So had to transfer most of it into dishes as in foil trays to the microwave. Having boosted some of it heat wise we served it up on our own heated plates and even then the food felt cold. The curry sauces were very watery and little flavour. In our lifetime my husband and I have probably had well over 200 Indian takeaways - this without doubt was the worst! Avoid at all costs - supermarket curries are way better.

Overall pleased with quality and taste. Seems home made style. Lamb was soft and chicken tikka nicely cooked. Never had a tikka masala like this very thin sauce and more tomato flavour not for me. Dhansak pretty good and Naga curry good. Would order again but need to take out a bank loan .

WE bought takeaway from the Restrurant and we were not disappointed, The food was fresh and very hot. Great Indian food we throughly enjoyed all of the meal and will definitely return on our next trip to Suffolk.

I often eat at the Raj, and its menu is superb, the service is great and the value is spot on, especially if you go on a "deal" night, Thursdays and Sundays offer 4 courses for £14, (eat in) I personally like the friendly side of the experience, where they laugh and joke with you, but also advise you if your menu choices will cause taste confusion or even clash. they don't force you toward "specials" and are quite willing to up or down the chili heat in your meal too.... I would suggest the Jalfrezi with extra Chili

Cada vez que he estado en este restaurante, ya sea para llevar o comer, que he recibido educado y atento servicio. we went there on a staff meal. the place wasn't busy in any way. it took 20 mins between our drinks order being taken and arriving at our table. there was only 9 of us. then when our food order was taken it took ages. by this point we were the only ones there. half the order arrived wrong or missing. I had to go early and went to pay my bill. I had only ordered 2 sofa water and lime but was charged £7.20. I work in the food industry and know this was way way to much. when I asked if this was right the gentleman said yes is tht a problem. his attitude was appalling and seemed like it was an inconvenience for us to be there. I will definitely not go back. as for the food. it was bland. edible but not worth a return visit.
