The Team is Fantastic, so friendly from entering this lovely Restaurant, through serving food, till leaving. The Ovner/Manager always smart ( good selection of suits ) and friendly, knowing his Customers and mentioning previous visits conversations. Food is great, portions appropriate, always very warm as served on heated plates. Perfectly clean and ironed table clothes and napkins adding style. Special thanks to Misba & Shaju at the front and to the Chefs ( would be nice to see them sometimes to say thanks ). Highly recommended !

The food was all stone cold not even warm and wasn’t remotely edible. It was delivered 15 minutes past the max time it said it would be. Disappointed

I’ve been going to Raj for years and they never disappoint! The food is the best around and the people and atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming. If I’m asked by anyone where the best place to go for food I always say Raj in Old Harlow!

A little gutted as we have used the restaurant for years. Used on Saturday and the food was not to the standard you expect. The worst part is that we were over charged. I attempted to order online @ £30 but was charged £43 on collecting. We have always scratched our heads at the variable pricing but now it’s clear they need a pos system for fair billing. Really disappointed as we have visited a lot and now feel we have been overcharged a lot too. Didn’t want to leave a poor review but need to let people know check the bill as it is your hard earned money

We visited for a quick meal prior to going to the Victoria Theatre later. We had chicken dhansak, pilau rice and chicken balti. The dhansak was plentiful with plenty of chicken in and a smooth sauce with lentils, this had a lovely flavour. My husband had chicken balti and a garlic naan. The naan was light and tasty too. The staff were polite and courteous and answered our queries re a couple of items. The curries were really tasty, presented nicely and came out steaming. We used to live in Bradford, recognised as curry capital of the UK and as such we have had some fab curries there. However, the Raj Lodge was better and we will visit each time we are in Harlow. Excellent from start to finish, visited on a Saturday evening with friends, the atmosphere was great and the music makes you want to dance. The food was superb 👌 was looked after well from all the staff and little mo 😋. Keep up the good work and see you soon. Laura, Spencer, Trevor and nessa

I came here for my birthday meal with friends and family, I haven’t been here for a while but it didn’t disappoint it was amazing. We were looked after the owner couldn’t do enough gave us different dishes to try which was amazing we got a complimentary drink at the end amazing service, excellent food best Indian around highly recommend 😀

Just had a beautiful dinner with the family. This is one restaurant in harlow I can honestly go with the wife and kids and everyone leaves happy and full. Mo really makes u feel apart of the family and regardless of getting takeaway or a sit in meal every dish is cooked from the heart and delicious

Had a great evening, food was wonderful, no small cheap cuts here (unlike other places we have been), large pieces of quality chicken and Lamb. Service was excellent and there was a great atmosphere. And to top it off, they have gone old school and served some Bombay Mix, loved it. 👏👏👏

Disappointed. Too oily. And they have changed the sauce that goes with starters. ( mint) now white and horrible.

This is a favourite of mine and never disappoints. Swift service, great menu and top notch food. Went for Podina Ghosht this time - lamb with mint, coriander and tomato which was delicious and that was after popadoms and large dishes of pickles. You need to give it a try but you’ll struggle to pick from all the unusual specialties.

I've been going to Raj for quite a few years now, and food is good. However the prices have gone up and equally the service is awful. Takeaways is a ballache of waiting over an hour and half sometimes. And then they forget things. My patience has been tested quite a few times recently. Not anymore it's a shame as the food is good. Shame everything else isn't

They forgot the mint sauce but did not call them as it was only a small item.

I attended yesterday with friends. We were seated in a really tight area near the kitchen. I wasn’t impressed but didn’t want to make a fuss as we were just there for a curry and a beer. The waiter took my used cutlery and placed them amongst the clean cutlery tray. The curry was ok. The place looked really poky and tired. Average

I've known the family of owners since the '80s & they rarely(if @all) let us down when we come to The Raj. Gr8 selection, gr8 food, gr8 service, nice welcome, nice wines & beers, etc. What more could you want? Competitive prices? You'll get it here for sure. Would highly recommend you give them a try.

As always, food was amazing. Everyone has their own place they go for Indian food. This is mine every time,the buffet on a Sunday is brilliant sit back and let the guys bring you dinner to die for.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for the best part of 30 years and it is normally wonderful But I am sorry to say that tonight it’s been the biggest let down of all! Firstly there was 3 other couples including ourselves enjoying a nice evening out, Then a group of 15 loud drunk men showed up asking for tables, Which is fine but then we were told to move our food and drink to another area so the group could fit in, It was so rude the way it was handled Not even politely asked plus we were already settled eating Then no one apart from that group were being tended to, I get that they can make money from a large party like that with the cost of alcohol alone but please don’t forget the regulars that have stood by your business for 30 years coming in regularly and recommending your food and hospitality because tonight it was just not on & it was the worse service we have ever had there.

Would be a 5 star as enjoyed eating here. The 2 stars is removed for drinks policy. They didn't itemize the drinks, when questioned i was told it was £5.75 for a pint of coke haha. Why ruin a good place by ripping people on drinks like that..

Only eaten in the Raj twice, first time was a few years ago and the food was cold when it was served. And the second time was more recently, on both occasion I came away dissatisfied with my dinning experience at the Raj. Personally I feel there are better Indian restaurant in Harlow than the Raj.

The food has gone from the best I’ve had in years to somewhere I’d never order from again, I literally threw half the order straight on the bin.

A bit underwhelmed. The 90p poppadom looked like it was out of a pack from the co op. The salad was awful. All things considered it did not feel like £40 well spent. Disappointed and will not use again.

For some reason my address default changed to from 150 to 134 Guilfords.I checked the default page and it said 150 Guilfords.Something is definitely screwed up here.This Is the first time this has happened.I didn’t check the order address as all previous orders have been delivered to me.

Don't think I have ever had to wait as long as the 'expected' delivery time. Food was piping hot on delivery. Never had a bad meal from Raj Lodge, although I did try the meat samosa for the first time today (usually have the veg one) and they had way more of a kick than I expected, but soooooo nice.

Always a good experience coming here, such friendly staff and super tasty, flavourful food! One of my families favourite places to eat for a celebration, atmosphere is nice and comforting :)

In my opinion, probably the best Indian in Harlow. Great customer service offered from an excellent experienced manager.

It was delivered when we had snow which we appreciated, however the attitude of the restaurant staff was awful. Stating they shouldn't be delivering and then putting the phone down before the conversation had ended. I do apologise to the delivery driver, however by the time the food was delivered the staff in the restaurants attitude had let down the job they were doing. Disappointing.

The rice was in three clumps not good at all the lamb was solid naan was burnt all in all not great

Atmosphere was provided by our group. Chicken was a little dry. Lamb was very nice. Rice was a little dry. Seating arrangement very awkward for easy conversion. Waiter bumped into me spilling my drink with no apology offer of reimbursement.

Received something other than poppadoms and a veg curry we didn't order. Food wasn't as tasty as when it had been eaten in the restaurant.

My food was due to be delivered between 7.00 and 7.20 pm. I rang the Raj Lodge at 7.35 to ask for an update but they said my driver was still at the restaurant. I was told he would be with me in 15 minutes. Then I rang again at 8.15 to be told my food had been delivered at 7.05. The driver had gone to the wrong house. They redid my order and I waited. After 2 more calls to the restaurant my food finally arrived at 9.30 - more than 2 hours late. The curry and rice were cold and the curry had hardly any sauce, just big chunks of undercooked onion and garlic. I threw most of it in the bin. I wish I hadn’t ordered this meal, my evening plans went out of the window and the food was poor quality. I decided to treat myself and it was anything but a treat. Never again

Excellent food with a good delivery.

Food was Luke warm and needed a blitz in the microwave to be eaten. But delivery was perfect and on time!

2 hours tell we ate, booked table at 8pm and ate 10pm

Delivery was over an hour and a half late after calling up 5 times for an update, understandable with the driver strikes, but we had a fresh order delivered and was hot and tasty! we was told by Mo that our next order would be free of charge which we appreciate, only trouble is I can’t give the wife a good seeing to due to being to full up

The order was delivered late , I wasn't too upset about that (I know the drivers were on stike) The main course had been up-ended so there was a lot of the sauce sloshing around the bottom of the plastic bag . The onion bhajee was supplied without the salad (and mint sauce ) The Tandoori Roti was also missing . Very disappointing! Would quite like a refund on the missing items .Not holding my breathe on that one though.

We have been using Raj for years. The quality used to be fantastic and the service was always top quality. That is no longer the case. We have had to wait 2 hours for cold food and half portions. Sometimes the food is literally swimming in oil. This place isn't cheap and you don't even get a full container of food. The delivery times have also gotten progressively worse. Most times it takes well over an hour. We will no longer be using this company. Shame as it used to be one of the best in the town.

Love this place to dine in. Friendly, great food, great atmosphere.

Scores on the doors gave these guys a 5 out of 5, so we tried a takeaway for the first time from here and it was pretty good & tasty, nice flavours, rich sauces, yum. My partner said it was the best curry he'd had down south compared to when he lived near Bradford. Only negative (apart from being quite expensive) was the food was ordered for a certain time and I think it was cooked a little early as it was pretty cold by the time we collected it. Would deffo try them again though and hope it's hot next time.

This is our go to local restaurant. Good friendly service and the food is delicious! Caters for all from large parties to couples. Very accommodating so if you have any special requests then they are happy to help. Would definitely recommend.

Visited Raj lodge late Friday went with my family there was 7 of us. Every time we visit they are very busy so I had to book a week before. As soon as we walked Mo made us feel so welcome we had a great meal the food was outstanding. I’m normally quite fussy hygiene but they have had five stars for as long I can remember. Would highly recommend to everyone by far the best in Harlow try the Jhaal khatto tikka it’s the best .

We tried the Raj lodge tonight for the first time since moving to the area and wow what can we say! My husband and I both said it was by far the best Indian we’d ever had! The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was good and the food was amazing! We will definitely be going back!

A disgusting restaurant and a disgrace to Indian food. We've been to many Indian restaurants in our time and have never been disappointed up until now. The food took ages to arrive and when they did, they got the orders wrong. When eventually they were corrected, the food clearly hadn't been cooked properly and my wife was almost sick. Asked to speak to the manager who was rude and had the distinct smell of cannabis coming from his breath. I walked over to the kitchen, where the smell of cannabis was far stronger. We immediately left and won't be returning. This place needs an urgent hygiene review or please close it down before someone becomes seriously ill.

Me & my pal we’re waiting in the restaurant for 1hr 30mins before we received the starter. We both chose the buffet and it shocked me with how basic and cheap it looked and tasted charging £24.99 a head 😮 ! We didn’t re-order nothing because it would of took another hour! It also cost £6.50 for a pint Coke-Cola! I was hoping the manager would apologise and decrease the price but he didn’t and charged £70! I couldn’t believe it and I thought ‘Is this legal?!’ ‘I’ve just been robbed!’ For anyone in Harlow I promise Indian Moments is so much better and worth the money you pay always pick that restaurant over this place! 🙌🏻

Can't compliment the Raj Lodge enough - I took my work colleagues out for a well deserved curry night and we had a great night. Service was exceptional, food delicious and price was reasonable. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much bother. Will be going again and would highly recommend.

Had takeaway delivered cost £53 for 3 meals 2 were stone cold 1 was completely wrong dish and chapatti missing we binned the lot and ordered elsewhere

Delivery was late. called restaurant to find out when it would be arriving and was rudely spoken to by them saying "Mate we are busy , it will be with you soon". I ordered at 19: 22 and it arrived at 21:05 .There was a portion of inion bhajee missing and overall the food was freezing cold . I didn't eat any of it as it was horrible! I WANT A FULL REFUND AND WILL NEVER ORDER FROM RAJ LODGE AGAIN !!!!!

Thought I would try it because it’s closest. It’s definitely not on par with most of the other Indians in the area. I suspect the restaurant is better. Quality and portion sizes weren’t comparable to others. However, there are three excellent Indians in the area and I would say this one was average in comparison rather than bad.

16th of january 2022, went there with a big group of 13 for my birthday there and it was one of the best curry houses i have had in a while!! Great service, polite staff and even better food. Would recommend the Raj for a nice meal 😁
