Bengal Cottage in Harlow

The restaurant was clean and staff polite . Food was nice but found a couple of dishes such as cauliflower bhaji not so good . The most disappointing thing about the restaurant was the space every time someone walk behind you they kept knocking your chair and I found that quite annoying when I’m trying to eat.

Visiting from up North. Fantastic curry for the 2 of us. Ejji in particular was very personable. If ever on Harlow again, we will be revisiting.

Love this place; our perfect date night adventure. Food is always excellent f and staff are wonderful. Cannot reccomend enough

Had my company work do there the other night and we have been going here for a while. I can’t express how great the service and food is. We went on Monday night for the 1st time and I am so glad we did. I cannot believe I haven’t tried this place before the food is absolutely amazing, so fresh and tasty and most importantly authentic. The naan bread was gorgeous and the food wasn’t greasy at all. The staff were very attentive and the draft beer and wine was very nice. We have now finally after 8 years found a fantastic local Indian restaurant, we will be back!

Have ate at the restaurant, so decided to order on just eat. Arrived 30 mins late and cold, so popped it in the microwave. Not sure what caused the delay but just be aware. The food as always was excellent.

Just had an excellent Indian meal.. the place is spotless and modern and you feel welcome and comfortable due to the attentive attitude of the staff.. it's everything you want when you sit down for a good curry the food is fresh vibrant and you can tell they know what they're doing.. I haven't wrote a restaurant review for ages but I needed to do this just to let you know you won't go wrong.. give it a try.. forget about the negatives They're over a year old the staff are amazing and you will be pleasantly surprised about the price as well..

One of the best Tandoori in Harlow friendly inviting and great atmosphere, food was delicious I had the mixed Tandoori with a vegetable vindaloo which made my eyes water which is what I like, we'll be definitely coming back well done bangle Cottage

Fantastic food and atmosphere and reasonably priced the staff can't do enough for you.. the decor is modern and most importantly spotlessly clean.. the food was delicious and will definitely be ordering takeaways from this Indian restaurant in the future.. my only regret is I didn't find it sooner..

Unreal food best Indian I’ve had in a very long time! Service was amazing as usual and all needs were covered as the waiters were on the ball 24/7. Couldn’t have asked for better food and came very quickly but very hot showing it’s been freshly made. The whole venue was super clean and kept very neat and tidy . Best Indian in harlow 100% give a try if you haven’t yet!

I am a regular customer and can honestly say I have never been let down. Staff are so friendly and welcoming all the time asking for feedback. Food is excellent and I have ordered many dishes. My fave now is Pathia [Chicken] which I had never had before. I have also had a Naga so if you like hot food is worth trying as I enjoy it more than Madras. Atmosphere is always good which is why I go back often.

One of the best Indian meals we have had in ages. 5 stars. A must place to eat in old harlow.

Firstly we were made very welcomed. The food was excellent and the service we received was second to none with the staff interacting with our grandchildren which was lovely. Although our first visit it certainly won't be our last. Very highly recommend and thank you for a lovely experience.

Anjeet is the main man will see to you. service in there is second to none! I would have given this place 10 stars if I could. Been eating here every Thursday for years. You cannot beat it.

Our first visit tonight. Really enjoyed the experience and lovely food. Friendly staff as well.

Had a lovely meal with the wife on Sunday evening. Chicken dhansak, brinjal bhajee, keema nan and tandoori king prawn were all just absolutely delicious. We asked the chef to spice up the King prawn which he did with "naga" chilli and the result was mouth watering perfection! Good service and a very clean and pleasant restaurant.

The food was amazing, best Indian I've had in a while. Had the korma and tikka masala and was full of flavour. Portions are perfect for sharing if that's what you want to do Worth every penny This will now be the whole families choice of restaurant when eating out

Impeccable customer service. Attentive without being overbearing. Allowed us to dine late. Lager on tap tasted clean and fresh. The food was full of flavour and of a good standard. I personally prefer more of a kick to the food. Only the madras, vindaloo and Phall had a spice rating on the menu so it seems they may be more cautious in this respect. I will visit again.

Just had a curry in Bengal Cottage whilst passing through. I have to say it was one for the best Curry’s I have had in a long time. Light, filling and left enough room for a amazing homemade dessert. Pleasantly surprised and will be back if in the area again. Good job to the management and staff.

Food was really delicious, good flavours. Presented well. Staff very friendly. Good atmosphere, can get very busy. But have never had to wait very long for a table without a booking. Parking was a 2 minute walk away.

Me and my friends came to try out this restaurant as a celebration dinner. Atmosphere was lovely and service was amazing. Can not complain about the food, price was great and taste was even better. The staff were very friendly and made us feel so welcomed and kept checking to see if we were happy with everything. Overall I would definitely recommend for a great experience! 5 stars from me! 🙂

Was hands down the best curry house in Harlow, they’ve since reduced their portion sizes massively and what I received when I order was a disappointment.

1st and last time ordering from here,the sauces had the consistency of tap water which is strange coz the chicken was drier than my sense if humour! ,the bhaji was dry aswell,and the aloo gobi was terrible Best bit was the nan breads!! For the price I'd expect this to be top notch but sadly wasnt the case 40 quid wasted on sub par food....avoid if you want a nice take away

This was a takeaway . Prawn Parthia was more tomato than prawn. Absolutely misrepresentation. Lamb Korma, meat tough as leather. This was a very very poor meal and an absolute waste of money. This restaurant has gone firmly downhill since Moeen left. Will not be using this restaurant again, either as a walk in or takeaway customer.

Stunningly amazing Indian food. Easily among the top 3 Indian restaurants 8 visited. The nan and roti are also exceptional. Good portion sizes. You need to be very hungry to finish a main with rice and nan, so I would recommend just ordering either rice or nan, not both. Friendly and expedient service. Pleasant Indian music. Nice decor. An abundance of vegetarian options. Be careful when ordering anything with more than one pepper. Spicy really does mean spicy here. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful place for a great Indian meal. Good service and great food. The flavours of the different dishes were outstanding and the cleanliness was excellent. A great choice of outstanding vegetarian dishes. Definitely worth a visit.

Just had there tikka masala. Well what can I say about it. It was very tikka masalaey. When I was eating it all I could think was wow, that's very much like a tikka masala. When I go back I'm gonna order a tikka masala.

We have eaten here twice and both times the food has been very, very good. We brought two friends with us the 2nd time and they both enjoyed their meals immensely. The service is very good and very quick. This is now our first choice Indian restaurant.

Just enjoying a cold dinner as thus restaurant can't put together 2 main dishes I call up and have to wait another 20 min for our food to then just be told sorry. SORRY!!! 60 quid wasted on a cold dinner....... nice!!!!

Been here several times, always left stuffed and delighted.. food is amazing and heavenly every time I’ve eaten there..never had any cause for complaint, restaurant is a nice size and clean and tidy, staff are friendly and attentive, and did I mention already... the food is AMAZING, best Indian I’ve ever visited... They also did/do a great value buffet on a Sunday too (prob still going but best to check before going if your after a great Indian buffet etc) Very impressive food all round, highly recommended

there are two in the high street this is the only one i would eat in the other one is very bad would not eat there once was enough and never again

Food is always great. We used to have takeaways a few years ago and it was OK but not brilliant. We went somewhere else for a while and then that ended up being a let down. We decided to try again here and we are so glad we did. Food is amazing now. The staff are so nice and dressed so smart as well. Thank god for a fantastic local indian. Chefs are on top form.
