Raj Kinara in The Vale of Glamorgan

We heard such great things about this Indian that we booked a weekend at Fontagary so we could eat there. Booked up with the resterant well in advance for 3 couples. Gave all my details and telephone number when we booked. We turned up on the date, had a few beers in the club house then went to the Raj Kinara for our dinner. It was flipping shut, went to reception who were aware in advance they were shut but they hadent told any of there customers. Such bad communications spoilt the weekend.

Fantastic food here last night the 4 of us had a great evening, the food was on point as well as the service what an absolute gem of a place. So many variations of food and yet all cooked amazingly well. Nothing was too much trouble and the prices realistic.

I'm not a fan of Indian cuisine, but my husband is and was told by friends that this was one of the best, and to be honest, it was . You need to book well in advance for a table and the takeaways going out were non stop .It's actually sited on fogarty Caravan Park .It's decorated lovely with views across the bay if by the widow. Service was good, although you could only get wine by the bottle and not the glass, which was a little disappointing 😕. However, the food coming out looked hot and fantastic. There was no rushing you to eat and go . The tikka masala was lovey, as was the butter chicken and mixed grill that others had . Was a great experience , good food, and at a reasonable price too .Will be back with friends again soon .

Just gone in to eat inand it's take away only at 9.50pm, very disappointing when the times state differently.

Amazing view, amazing food and amazing service. For a family of 4 we paid around £90.

Came here mid week, and it was busy. We didn't have to wait long to be seated. We had plenty of food and we didn't feel rushed . The staff were lovely. The food was reasonably priced. Would definitely come back again.

Stopped by last minute with friends just before they were closing up, extremely welcoming, food was exceptionally nice considering the time etc. Would I return again? Yes.

A very good place for a meal. The food is probably the best of its kind in the area. They cater well for small to large numbers in a group. The staff are professional and the place is clean and well designed.

Great to eat in, not had a takeaway from here in a while but eat in occasionally and it's always top drawer service and food. Recommend.

Eaten here many times, food is always warm, tasty and enjoyable. Staff are amazing, they couldn't do more to help you when required and join in the celebrations when it's a birthday. Location is great and has some good views over the sea. Will be back soon.

Been eating here since it opened nearly 20 years ago. Never had a bad sit down or take away. Great attentive staff. Service can get slow in the restaraunt when very busy but always a good meal!

Desperately needs to get with the times. Vegan options aren't labelled on the menu and staff didn't know what vegan food is, so we had very little confidence in ordering. This was a shame as the service was otherwise lovely and the food was really good.

In my opinion this is the best restaurant and takeaway I've ever been to. The staff are so friendly, efficient and helpful. I've had meals in the restaurant and regularly have takeaways. They're always consistent, and order timings spot on.

We ate here for the first time on NYE after wanting to try it for a long time and it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in everyone was very friendly, they gave some regulars hugs goodbye as they left which I thought was lovely. Shown to our table and offered drinks and poppadoms straight away and it all came within minutes despite it being very busy!! All our food was delicious, generous portions and definitely one of the best curries I've ever had. The service was seamless from every single person, it worked like clockwork despite being a busy night! Will be very glad to return again

Excellent restaurant, food was perfect and the service friendly…

From the moment we walked in, we were treated very highly. Taken straight to a table and poppadoms and drinks offered. Of course, you don't have to accept them, but as we love them, we thought, why not, plus the added bonus of the pickle and sauce tray mmmmmmmmm lol. It wasn't that busy there, which was nice, and the food didn't take long to come either. The food was of excellent quality and quantity, except the chips, which we could've done with a few more of (I love chips, by the way). I was with two of my sons, who are growing young men, one had a korma, the other had chicken tikka massala, and I had a biriyani. All of us pretty much polished off all of the food and they told me it was probably the best Indian they've had, I'm inclined to agree that it was amazing, not quite sure if the best for me, but definitely in the top 3. We can't wat to go again. If you like Indian food, you will thoroughly enjoy the raj, and the service was exemplary the whole time we were there.

All the staff here were exceptionally professional with great service skills, they made my Dad's birthday really special. The food is excellent, high quality and plenty of it. The restaurant is spotlessly clean with a lovely ambience and is also wheelchair friendly. Can't wait to return!

Food is good, they should work on price. Indian foods are not expensive, so dont try to be one. And make seating easy and fun, you dont need to stick with maroon colors and old shabby look. And please i form your staff to not call ladies Lovely. Brits dont like it anymore. Gone are the days to say Love and Lovely to a lady. Its offensive.

We had an amazing meal here last night for a family of 5. Best curry we have had in a long time. Staff were rushed off their feet, our waiter was excellent. Booking is advisable. Expensive but was a treat.

The food was lovely couldn’t fault it but the whole dining experience made me feel really uncomfortable, one of the waiters was constantly stood by our table and always checking in. We had to whisper to have a conversation because of how close he was, besides that will definitely get a takeaway from here soon

Perfect meal! The setting is amazing, overlooking the sea. Nicely decorated and internal space accomdates tables for big families. There were 18 of us, food was fresh, came out together (we ordered in groups of 4). Authentic flavours with a great menu selection. Prices are pretty much London prices but reasonable given the quality and location. Service was good and friendly. Highly recommended!

As always this restaurant was and always has been faultless. The food is superb and the staff are always attentive and make you feel really special. I can’t wait to return there

I had a pleasant evening meal in this Indian restaurant which benefits from panoramic views of the Bristol Channel. The Indian food was of good quality and was reasonably priced. Would recommend a visit here.

A friend of mine recommended we try raj kinara. It's beautifully placed in fontagarry caravan park in Rhoose. The layout is extraordinary, and the views over the Bristol chanel are amazing, the sun was beating down to make the views even better. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is top quality and perfectly plated in front of you. If you fancy trying Indian cuisine with attractive scenery then book now while the weather is glorious. 10/10 from me 😋👍

Really good food, very much enjoyed by both my husband and myself.

Stayed on the tourer park, and went for a walk, which took us past the door of the restaurant. The delicious smell was enough to tempt us in, and we were not disappointed. Tasty food, beautifully cooked, served by friendly staff.

Raj Kinara is a lovely place for good Indian food. Service is excellent, food is wonderful and atmosphere was certainly buzzing Friday night. Well worth a visit you will not be disappointed. Make sure you book a tablet as restaurant is a very busy place with lots of clientele.

Fabulous food, great for a family booking. There were 30 of us and the food was perfect! Hot and all served together!

Called here for a first time on Saturday. The food was absolutely delicious. Tasty and great value for money. This will now be my go to Indian restaurant.

The menu offers a great deal of choice and they cater for coeliac well. There are vegetarian choices also. The food was tasty but I couldn't finish mine as there was a piece of beef in my vegetarian dinner.

Have to say this was the best Indian I've ever had. My partner is vegan and although the dietary information was hand written in a note pad we were appreciative of the fact someone had taken the time to write it all out. My partners food was lush even though it was just lentil curry and my chicken tikka masala was tasty and the chicken wasn't dry. Will Definetly order again.

Great food. Not sure there is much trust for large groups by one of the staff members demanding we must pay. We were always going to pay. We enjoyed the food very much. Staff at bar were lovely.

We landed about 18.30 pm,waited 5 minutes for a table for 2.....then 50 minutes for food, I understand they were busy and stuff but hehe ho, anyway back to the food, it was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and polite, the head waiter in the white shirt was very pleasant and described what food(rice) had ghee in the it, so that was nice to know(vegan wife) the mixed grill was amazing and very very tasty BUT I could have done with a little more on the plate if I'm honest, but overall a lovely place to eat, great atmosphere and friendly staff, we will definitely return 😀

2nd visit- Dec22. A split review this time. Staff give a warm welcome, are friendly and provide good service even though they were very busy. Food, sadly this time was very disappointing. Main courses, Lamb Tikka was nuclear red colour, tasty but lacked depth of flavour, lamb was rubbery and was literally scalding hot / lamb captain pathila, very chewy rubbery lamb and curry lukewarm. Very disappointing. First visit - Nov 22 and won’t be the last. The restaurant was very busy but still the service was good. We Had sheek kebab / onion Bhaji to start, butter chicken / mango chicken dish for main along with rice & Peshawari Nan. The food was all utterly delicious. My only dislike was soggy slices of mango on top of the curry but, that’s a personal choice thing. I would highly recommend.

Absolutely lovely food and extremely attentive service. We went for our Christmas meal, 14 of us in total and despite the size of our party, the service was outstanding 👌

Had lovely meal on Friday evening December 9th 2022 We were lucky to have one of the best waiters ever looking after us. Zaman was brilliant with the children, interacted with them and could not do enough for us. What a nice man, he should be a roll model to every waiter. Fantastic evening out Dave Crockford

Slippery yet satisfying and a lovely cobra

Just been here for the first time. Been meaning to try it for years. Had the king prawn pura to start.. absolutely stunning.. mixed grill for main. Never tried this before as always have a curry normal. It was again stunning. Great staff amazing food and lovely place. New local for Indian 100%. Thank you

Excellent food...great service and atmosphere...

Bit disappointed to be honest. This place used to be A1. On my latest visit it was very busy with not enough staff. Service slow, nearly an hour to get our food. Food not piping hot. Tables left uncleared after customers had left. Not good, they need to get back to their past standards soon.
