I called by for a quick breakfast sandwich takeaway before work. I wanted to spend at a local independent business and try somewhere new. I wish I hadn’t picked here… I ordered a sausage sandwich for £3 and chucked it straight in the bin after one bite. Chewy microwaved pre-cooked sausages on cheap white bread with a measly bit of ketchup. I wouldn’t even pay 50p for that. The owners should be ashamed of this… if this is the usual standard of food I’d expect them to be closed down soon.

Shocking I think 90% of it was microwaved And they serve breakfast on very small plates toast was ok and drinks where ok I understand it is very hard to make money at the moment but there was absolutely no effort in that breakfast. even the small plates where wet Tined chopped tomatoes where not reduced or seasoned and the bacon must have be reheated as it had hard parts

Had heard good reports of the food on offer from this little café. To celebrate our wedding anniversary I ordered an afternoon takeaway tea for two. Well what a tea! Enough for four and a good selection of sandwiches, scones (with cream and jam), cake, fancies, grapes, srawberries. Would definitely recommend this cafė and we can't wait to try out a sit down meal there.

I visited Railway Tearooms with my family in June, for a small cooked breakfast and loose leaf tea. The breakfast was beautifully cooked: sausage, bacon, egg, tomatoes, beans and as a separate addition mushrooms, and served with equally lovely service. Seated on the top floor with a view over the historic Belper railway. What’s not to love about Belper tearooms! 10/10, Clare should be very proud of the cafe and her brilliant team. Will definitely be visiting again soon :)

The owner really cares about this place. Has the foresight to have a full baby changing facility in the toilet. Took some refesshments, scone was warm and fresh and home made, not commercial, and cream and jam, not just a cash and carry portion. Good hot chocolate. Pleasant staff-too, pretty attentive. Drop by, you will be welcome, IF you can get a seat! Didn't see any reading material around, that might be useful as people chit-chat etc:-, but keep up the good work.

Called in for a light lunch, as the name suggests this is one of the former railway cottages now converted to a small business offering a varied menu of snacks - hot and cold, good coffee and a good selection of cold drinks. Visited here recently on a Saturday morning, fairly busy early, converged terraced cottage. Staff were very pleasant, clean tables, a little cramped but not really a problem. We had toasted teacakes, tea and coffee and was very nice. The full breakfasts being served looked very nice as well. I prefer less busy places as the noise from a local customer was distracting, but after all it was a busy Saturday. Worth a visit

Popped in for lunch and were tempted by the wide choice of freshly made dishes from soups to quiches to sandwiches. Based in a converted terrace house overlooking the railway, the cafe has all the characteristics of a railway man's home. Opted for the freshly made cheese and onion flan with salad - very tasty. Wide variety of hot and cold drinks available- opted for a large cappuccino- unique to the cafe itself. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and professional in the service provided. Overall a pleasant experience.

Popped in for lunch as have passed it a few time so thought we would give it a try. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the menu isn’t particularly extensive but we each found something. The portions were small for the price, with a very plain side salad and a few crisps. The cakes were quite dry, we all had the same cake so cannot say if all the cakes would be the same. All in all it was just an ok visit, don’t think we will be heading there again :(

Visited this lovely cafe yesterday & as soon as you enter there’s a very warm, friendly feel to the place. We ordered our choice of food & drinks & there was plenty of options. We decided to try the scones, with a pot of tea. We did t have to wait long before our drinks were brought to us. Our tea was lovely & hot & we had china cups & saucers to drink out of which was lovely. Our scones arrived, I enjoyed a cherry scone, my friend a fruit scone. They were freshly baked & still warm. They smelled delicious. We had a choice of butter or cream with jam, which we both opted for butter & jam. The jam was home made, & the scones were as delicious as they smelled. An enjoyable drink in a wonderful little cafe which was extremely clean, friendly & I would definitely go there again. Highly recommended

This lovely, little tea room is tucked away down Midland View off King Street in Belper. It is in a 2 up, 2 down terraced house right next to the Derby-Matlock railway line. There are tables downstairs and up with old photos of Belper and the Railway adorning the walls. The full English breakfast is very popular; soup, quiche and sandwiches for lunch all accompanied by excellent coffee and, of course, tea. There is a comfortable, community feel to the place which, together with a friendly, helpful staff, make this place a must when visiting Belper.

We found this quaint little tearooms down a side road off the main shopping road. The railway runs right beside it hence the name, but is lower down in a valley so there is no disturbance. It is an old railway side cottage in what would have been the front room, with half a dozen tables. It was very popular as we got the last table and more people came in after. We just had coffee but the had a cabinet full of home made cakes and also jars of preserves for sale. The staff were very friendly and it appears that it is frequented by many regulars. A small 2-room café on a terrace of houses on a quiet alley between the Co-op and the main King Street. Coffee and flapjack was perfectly satisfactory and the service quick.

Discovered this tea room by chance on a visit to Belper, very quaint ,it is like a tea room in a terraced house off the railway terrace, nice prices and food and friendly attentive staff. The toilet upstairs is very different but this is what makes it good to visit.

Always visit this lovely little cafe with the most friendly staff in Derbyshire. It is a gem. Best coffee available.

I love this little place, excellent for a quick cup of good coffee and a cake...even better for a breakfast. Cooked fresh, smallish but plenty for me. The ladies who run this are friendly and provide excellent service. The decor is kitsch but kinda cute and it's very clean. One thing I notice is that the atmosphere in here invites people to talk to each other and I have had some top chats with some very charismatic and witty elderly regular patrons.Give it a try!

Cracking breakfast, not cheap but top banter with the birds behind the counter. The bathroom is quite weird :/

I would like to say a huge thank you for helping me yesterday when I fell over opposite your cafe. The staff, especially Hayley, were amazing and so kind helping me into the cafe and providing an ice pack and drink of water. They allowed me to sit there as long as I wanted. By the way the coffee and cakes they serve are amazing! Thank you so much.

Fantastic food as always. I called in advance to ensure there were some gluten free options and the kitchen were SO accommodating. Highly recommended .

The food is excellent and so are the staff. It is a very friendly country style cafe with a homely feel. Their breakfasts are fab. So are their dinners and a great choice of deserts. Their pies are fab nice and meaty with no fat. Served with whatever you want. However, with their special potatoes & peas they are lovely. There is a great choice of food and it is all home made. Claire and family who run it are so nice and they are very attentive and helpful. We call it our local and we would not go anywhere else. Well done to all the staff.

The foods actually really good and it’s got a lovely garden area, just the service needs sorting out as it was terrible. It wasn’t particularly busy but it really took a long time. We visited a few weeks later, only to have to wait even longer to be served and then after receiving drinks and and placing our food order was told it was a 1h wait for food, would of been nice to have been advised about the food wait times as we where seated or when placing our drinks order. Hopefully management turn it around soon.
